O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub

I stopped by O'Hara's for a quick drink on a Saturday afternoon. It was around 12 PM and it was already pretty busy. Fortunately I found a seat at the bar, and immediately felt at home. The staff here are very warm and friendly. The walls are filled with police and firefighter patches, along with tons of 9/11 decor. This isn't surprising since O'Hara's is literally next to ground zero. I'll definitely return and try the food. It looks delicious!

Had a great time at O’Hara’s Pub! The Guinness was perfectly poured, the staff were quick and friendly, and the burger was awesome. Highly recommend for anyone visiting downtown Manhattan.

Great find on the way from 9/11 Memorial. Good selection of drinks, friendly service and great atmosphere. Fantastic choice of rock music. I've been living in London for the last 18 years and I have to say none of my favourite bars there have such a great music. I know, it's very personal but... Going to visit again at the nearest opportunity.

Mozzarella cheeseburger was good. Table was a bit too small to be comfortable. Great tribute to all Fire/EMS/Police, with patches and stickers lining the doors, ceiling ,and walls. This was especially good for this location so close to the 911 memorial. Bring a patch to add from your station and an appetite.

I absolutely loved my visit here. The bar staff are so friendly and welcoming even went out of their way to make room for me when it was crazy crowded. Yummy bar food and drinks, fun atmosphere and let me have a look at their photo book from the 9/11 tragedy 🩵 don't miss a visit here it's in the heart of the beautiful Financial District.

Dropped in around midday for some food and drink after spending some time around lower manhattan and ground zero. Plenty of space, family friendly, simple food that all in the party will eat. Service was efficient and courteous. Lots of firefighter / emergency services patches and memorabilia here with it being next door to ground zero and the firefighter memorial wall. Overall an ideal place for a quick snack and a pint for you and the family when mooching about in NY.

The O'Hara's is not just an Irish pub, it is an institution that served as the HQ for man forces that came here to help in the aftermath of the 9/11 event. Here you will find lots of memorabilia as lots of Fire men, policemen, army force, etc brigades from all around the world send their badges. The place is literally covered from floor to ceiling in memorabilia. This is well worth a visit and the food was also really good. We would definitely come back here if in the region.

After visiting 9/11 memorial or the One World trade center this is a good place for lunch. The interior is covered with badges from police and fire departments from all over the USA and even from other countries. We had the O'hara classic burger which was quite good. Would fully recommend eating at this restaurant.

I stopped here for a quick bite and a cold beer while walking around the area during a break. I got the buffalo chicken fingers and my friend got the fried zucchini sticks. The zucchini sticks were so good and the marinara sauce was delicious. Chicken fingers were OK. Spicy enough! A cool Irish pub adorned with many patches on the walls of public service organizations. Police, firefighters from all over! The service was friendly too. Great music playing!

I had the most moving experience and best food. Located right across from the 911 Memorial, walking in it is a bit overwhelming, the walls are covered in first responders patches from across the globe and turns into an overwhelming feeling of pride. Old school pub! Great food, great drinks and service. Get the nachos! Trust me! It is listed under appetizers but is a meal on it's own.

An absolute must when in NYC!! The staff is amazing, great prices on drinks and ask about their scrapbook from 9/11!

It's the story behind the scene that is the draw.... First place to open after 9/11.... They opened for the first responders... now every patch from every where lines the ceiling, the walls... every square inch is covered..... The food is okay too...

Great bar in a special place. Cool decor with all the First Responder patches on the walls. We spotted San Antonio & ATX as we walked to our table. Service was good. We just each ordered a beer and shared sweet potato fries. Definitely stop in, even if for just a drink!

O'Hara's is a great, local watering hole in the Financial District that is my office's default for casual lunches, post work happy hour gatherings & late night drinks. We usually always run into people who know too. Lots of tv screens, great service, bar food (love their cheeseburgers, sliders & platters of chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini & onion rings) & drinks of course. I usually get a vodka based drink (vanilla stoli & ginger ale) or a cider beer. Bartenders are great, quick & helpful. Shout out to Jimmy & Mike! Every time that I visit NYC, we usually have a meet up here, for nostalgia & good times.

Much love and respect for O'Hara's. As someone that used to work at 140 Broadway prior to that awful day, O'Hara's was one of the places frequented after work. It's taken me nearly 24 years to make my way back down in that area. Several people told me what O'Hara's has done and secretly, I'm a sucker for a good ole Irish Pub. We were able to score two bar seats and once we sat and saw the patches, the emotions kicked in. I'm not gonna try and describe it, just go Now for the review. We were greeted immediately by the bartender once we sat. He came over and wiped down the area. Right there I could tell he would be good. Ordered a double Tito's and Soda with lemon and no complaints. Wife asked for a local beer, bartender provided a sample and she ordered. Can't remember the name but it was a lager. Started with a French Onion Soup, which had nice flavor. Kinda disappointed no toasted baguette, but still a very good soup. I had the Reuben and it was hearty and meat tender. Onion rings were crispy, but certainly typical pub rings. My wife enjoyed her wrap and the fries were on point.

Bartenders charge whatever they want. I suspect there's some cash register skimming going on.

Love this. We had visited the 911 memorial and it was late. We had a child with us and we badly needed food. It was busy and by a stroke of luck We got in when we did. They were amazingly accommodating. And we ordered food. Food was great after a great visit. They have amazing food and drinks. And they were also a sports bar. And show sports on TV. You can also get an ohara's tee shirt at 15 bucks. We all got one! My hubby and I shared a combo of two hot dogs and onion rings! Fantastic place!!

So - they have been open since 1983, & given their contributions to the 1st responders of 9/11, are rightly & well deservedly now a historic site in their own right. That being said, I can imagine that between 1983 & 2001, this was probably a good place to grab a meal & a drink downtown, on a dark side street without much foot traffic or many other businesses in a historic pub atmosphere. However, given their proximity to WTC & the WTC museum, they are now completely & utterly overrun by tourists, in the worst possible way. The bartender also seemed angered & miserable about this, & was visibly rude & mean to them. I honestly don't blame him. If I worked here & had to deal with clueless (& worse) tourist throngs day in & day out, I would probably be angry & rude to everyone too. The prices here are definitely reasonable for the area, but if you are hungry, beware-the portions are what would be considered "European", & skimpy by American standards. If you are trying to cut calories, though, then it's perfect. It's also a free country, & you can just order more food if you want to gorge yourself. The ingredients are also relatively low quality, & the Buffalo wings had no seasoning or breading - only deep fried with a watery Buffalo sauce that did not stick to them. Very disappointing ! It's not hard to make decent Buffalo wings - please research this! In any case, the beers are cold & fresh, & the tap lines are clean, & the bartender is very attentive to keeping customers drinks flowing. If you are a tourist going to WTC, you might as well go here. Otherwise, there are def better Irish pubs downtown, including The Irish American.

This pub is a must-visit place in NYC's Financial District as it has great vibes and friendly staff, specially at the bar. It's spacious with so many booths, tables, high chairs and bar seats. Many comfort food options and of course good selection of beer on tap. It also has a lot of history to it; they have even created a story book for 9/11 tragedy and all the firefighters who came to help and how this pub was damaged and the story of repairing and bringing it back to life.

I'm glad we researched and found this spot as it was the perfect compliment to end a very somber morning at the 911 museum. The fact that this establishment focuses on celebrating the first responders, as evidenced by the many many patches from all around the world from first responders on the walls, is a very positive vibe. they do hold the tables in the bar for people who are ordering a meal and as we were ordering lunch, we were seated very quickly. It is typical tavern, fair, but I would say that my Buffalo chicken sandwich had more chicken in it than I've ever had in any chicken wrap before! the flavors were fantastic. My husband had the Cajun chicken tenders (one of today's specials), they were grilled and he said they were excellent. I had a bottle of beer and he had a draught. $51 Love the positive vibe here and it brightened up our day. Thank you!

Everyone working there seemed genuinely happy to serve us. This place maintains cleanliness and the proprietors are friendly, attentive and honest. My meal was fresh, had excellent seasoning, and was cooked just right. Their employees know how to satisfy diners. O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub shows consistent strength.

I figured it would be fine but it was fantastic. They don't hold back on serving sizes. Higher charges than expected, but setting feels special. This spot reveals exceptional quality. This place earns repeat business.

After a chilling visit to 9-11 memorial- this place provided an uplifting lunch. Located at ground zero. Thousands of police -firefighters patches adorn the walls. Fast efficient service. Had good tasting burger,with fries - tall draft beer. Had people from Germany & London seated on either side of my table

O'Hara's Restaurant and Pub offers something different. The team shows excellent customer assistance. The cooking here takes risks that pay off. Pleasant surprise. The place offers endless compliments to give.

We were a little confused as there are two ways to get into the restaurant. We came through the bar, but were told there were no tables available and several people waiting to be seated. That's when we learned about the other entrance. We were able to seat at the bar right away and you can order from the same menu, so that worked just fine. The bartender promptly took our order though he was extremely busy. Our food was delicious! We definitely enjoyed our lunch here and would recommend having a meal here if you are in the area.

Took a quick stop for a drink and some food while waiting to get into the 911 memorial museum. This place is great! Good food, drinks and fun and friendly staff. Love these kind of places. Unique in a good way and fun. Recommend from Michigan.

The flavors make me close my eyes to focus on tasting. I'm completely taken with this restaurant! The food quality here is remarkable. The team delivered remarkably additionally. Put this place on your list.

Definitely a must visit if you are visiting the 9/11 museum. This place really brings home the love that the locals have for their beloved New York / Manhattan. It's a great spot to hang out at lunch time with a cold beer with friends and the staff are attentive and lovely. Only slight downside is the food - I'll probably not order any food from there again. The Irish stew was okay but nothing to write home about and was obviously microwaved within an inch of its life as it was super hot on the outside and cold in the middle. We will definitely be back though next time we are in the area

I try to limit my one star reviews, but I have rarely been as offended or infuriated at an establishment as I have at this miserable excuse for a dive bar down near the Oculus. Popped in here on a weekday evening around 9pm to try to catch the end of a playoff hockey game after a nearby gallery visit, completely sober. My girlfriend and I each popped into the a restroom on way in, then I went to bar to settle in and order a drink. Apparently a bouncer followed my girlfriend to restroom, and harassed her while in there to get out, accusing her of bringing in an outside drink (completely untrue/inaccurate), followed her to me and grabbed me by shoulder to tell us he was kicking us out. I fortunately hadn't ordered and decided discretion was the better part of valor and a bar fight not the right move, but I have rarely been more irate, getting kicked out of a not even mid, wannabe Irish dive bar for no cause when I simply wanted to grab a Guinness and catch the end of a game. Fortunately found a nicer, welcoming hotel bar nearby for a real drink and actual hospitality and to watch a Rangers win (alas they of course would not go all the way), but I'll make it a personal mission to tell anyone I can get the ear of to avoid this rude, unwelcoming hellhole.

This is the place to go when visiting the 9-11 Memorial/Museum. The walls & ceiling (and there are a lot of them!) are covered in patches from responders from all over, even out of the country. I found them from our local towns in California. The service was great! Really liked the French Onion Soup!

Popped in for a late lunch after visiting 9-11 memorial. Even with a party of 5 we were seated right away. The bar was packed. Most watching the soccer game. Our waiter was awesome. Very attentive. We ordered a variety of food that we shared. Sorry no food pics. I was tired

O'Hara's in FiDi is the ultimate neighborhood bar. Eric and Nick make you feel right at home with their great vibes and banter. The Guinness is fire, and if you're friendly and toss back enough beers, you might just score a free shot. It's that kind of place--authentic and awesome.

Stopped in after visiting the 9/11 museum and memorial. Was greeted and sat very quickly. Spoke with the owner who was asking where we are visiting from and he let us see the beautiful scrapbook for the aftermath of 9/11 to the restaurant. French onion soup was yummy! We got the BLT and the grilled cheese minus the tomato and it was super loaded on the bacon! Great pricing for NYC and will definitely go back next visit. Everyone was so nice!

O'hara's Restaurant and Pub near 9/11 Memorial in Manhattan was one of my bucket list visits. Before my visit I had seen pictures of inside the pub and all of the walls lined with law enforcement and fire fighter patches and memorabilia. My visit on that day was for me amazing. Being a LEO myself, I felt like a kid in a candy shop, seeing all the patches from agencies around the world. As the story goes, a year after the towers fell, a construction worker and firefighter were at the pub. The construction worker rips off the patch from the firefighter's sleeve and hangs it on the wall, thus starting the unique tradition of the patch collection. Supposedly the pub now has over 7000 patches and memorabilia on its walls and ceilings. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and our waiter told us there was an album we could look at. The album was like a time capsule the contained news clipping and photos of the area during 9/11. I asked our waiter if I could hang my department's patches on the walls. Our waiter gave me a marker and staple gun and told me I could hang them anywhere inside the restaurant. I just needed to find an open space somewhere. We all ordered burgers and fries and they were so delicious. The beer was also fantastic. If you're planning to visit NY and visit the 9/11 memorial and you're also a first responder, make sure to stop by O'Hara's Pub. You won't be disappointed!

A classic pub in the heart of FiDi that is a crowd pleaser when looking for some after work drinks (or a nightcap if you live in the area!) Beers on tap are very affordable and service is always efficient.

This place is iconic. The servers are very friendly. they deal with a lot of tourists yet still maintain a very patient positive attitude. Came here for lunch with a group of friends. We ordered lunch and got drinks from this place being very iconic the food and drink we're not very special. It was typical bar food and regular canned drinks, drafts wine and cocktails. I particularly did not enjoy my meal and my friends also, we're not delighted with their meal as well. Visiting and you wanted to check this place out. Just grab a drink and roll.

Very nice place with good beer. Would have given it 5 stars but the staff were not very friendly. Bartender was welcoming but I still had a beer looked around and left after paying my bill.

This bar was my last stop in Manhattan before leaving for New Jersey, and I must say we saved the best for last. Great pub near the World Trade Center. Nice local neighborhood bar, everyone was extremely friendly. The bartender was nice and the service was right on. Didn't have to wait for a pint. We didn't have the food but no one else was complaining about it and anything I saw looked great. They also sell T-shirts. If you're down in lower Manhattan, make this a place to stop in.

This restaurant/bar is divey and great! It is close to the 9/11 museum and ground zero. We popped in with a group of 5 and were seated within 10 minutes around 1:30 in the afternoon. Service was great, manager and servers work hard,efficient and as a team! They honor front line workers and have awesome old school registers behind the bar that are still in use! Food is traditional bar food. Good but nothing to rave! If you're popping in for a bite, good vibe and a drink... you won't leave disappointed! Just don't expect a top notch chef curated meal! Visiting and a first responder? Come prepared to leave your mark!

Ok this place is awesome wife and found this place by accident. Glad we did staff super friendly. Food was good and drinks are awesome cool bar all around. I will definitely stop back by when we come back.

Food was good but was a little disappointed in the reuben. The chicken quesadilla was huge abd very much a surprise. The atmosphere and history of this place are what made us come here and made us love it. It is right next to a firehouse and near the 9/11 memorial. There are patches all over the walls from fire, rescue and police from everywhere.

One of my favorite downtown bars. Even beyond the heroic stories of 9/11, this bar is something special. Fair prices (for NYC). Great bartenders. Tasty food! Large space with multiple bars. I love a good pub t-shirt. They've got one of the best around. Stop in early, they are busy for happy hour every day!

Went for lunch. Place is a military first responder hangout and did not disappoint. Ceiling and walls are in responder patches and 9/11 photos. Just across the street from the 9/11 museum so a perfect spot for a mental break before or after the museum. I had the French onion soup and the burger salad. Salad was excellent - house salad with a full burger on top for the protein. The FO soup was ok but not my favorite. It had a lot of seasoning in the broth but no real flavor. Those around me had the onion rings - they looked amazing. Another table had the chicken wrap that looked good. Will definitely return.

We were recommended to come here for a drink after going to the 9/11 Museum. Great choice. The inside is fully decorated with badges of different first responders. We sat at the bar. Good beer choices, fast service, and decent prices. We didn't stay long, but we we had a great time here while we drank our beer. Can't vouch for the good, but it's a good stop for a drink in the area.

We went to O'Haras today during our visit to Ground Zero. My sweetheart is an LA County firefighter as it was "the reason for our visit today". The most important part of his first visit to NYC. Paying our respects to the 344 fallen firefighters and their families.

We are staying across the street so we stopped in to eat and grab drinks before going back to the hotel. The entire bar is covered in patches and we sat near several California patches, so that was cool! Our waiter was great. However, the food just wasn't great. I had a Brooklyn burger-the cheese and onions were good, but the meat was off. I also had a French onion soup and that was good. My son had the Shepherds pie and it was extremely dry. We left very disappointed with the food, but drinks were good.

This is our 3rd time to NYC and we like trying places that we have never been so with all the history of this place we just had to try it. It was awesome!!! We enjoyed the food, the ambiance, the staff and the food :) Our server Jimmy was so attentive and a great part of our visit. We would highly recommend this place again and again. If you are visiting the 9/11 memorial, visit here because it to is a part of that history.

Iconic old school Irish pub located in the shadows of 911 memorial- near the firehouse. This place has lots of history!! The owner is super friendly. Food was great!! Be sure to ask to see the scrapbook!! It's filled with 911 photos and articles from that day, and the aftermath. The restaurant survived that horrific day, and this book is a tribute to those who did not. Love everything about this place!

Almost the entire time that we dined in they played excessively loud and obnoxious Mexican music during Christmas time in an American historic World Trade Center bar. The decor was fitting as first responder patches and flags from around the world were displayed around the restaurant. The food was plentiful and tasty. The distraction of the obnoxious music just made an otherwise enjoyable experience somewhat disappointing.

Came here while doing a NY vacation. We came in because it looked like just our kind of neighborhood bar but it was so much more. This bar was a hangout for police and firefighters before the 2 World Trade center towers fell. It is adorned with the patches of police and firemen from all over the country who are paying respect to their fallen brothers. This bar was a focal point for search and rescue and was covered in the debris from the fallen towers. We ordered burgers which were delicious and had a couple of drinks while chatting with the friendly bartender. We saw that another patron was looking at a scrapbook and asked about it. It was a book with articles and pictures of the days & weeks following the attack. We leafed through the book and were in tears by the end. I've watched all the video, read a lot of stories, heard the stories, but to be right there and see the pictures of the people that lost their lives that used to frequent that bar - well that made it even realer. So the food was great, our bartender was great, the prices were good, but the history of the bar and the interior with the decorations - that was something I will never forget about my visit to NY.

Immediately I knew this place was special. The ties to NYC and 9/11 run deep. I had a tuna melt which was open faced, and my husband had the Reuben. No pics because we ate everything before considering pictures. You will not be disappointed here. The service was great and the ambiance is special. If I'm ever in NYC again, I'll be back.

The food was great pub food. The servers were awesome. And the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want out of an Irish pub. Definitely the best pub in NYC!

If you are a first responder, this place is a must! Ambience is fantastic. I was able to put up one of my department's challenge coins. I had the Cajun chicken wrap and everyone else had burgers. Food was excellent and service was outstanding. Highly recommend.

Great pub with lots of history! Definitely recommend stopping by here if you're in NYC. Tons of police patches and ties to the World Trade Center. Our bartender was the kindest and friendliest. Ordered a Philly cheesesteak, wasn't authentic but still a great steak sandwich. Can't beat a frosty Cooney Island brew either!
