They host controversial and very interesting events. They have good variety of rare books. Definitely recommended if you are looking to learn something new about the Armenian heritage.

As a learner/lover of the Armenian language, Abril Bookstore is one of my favorite bookstores ever. I love browsing through everything, and always find something interesting!

I'd never go back. I brought a client of mine who enjoys reading. The lady worker was unwelcoming from the beginning. "You know these are Armenian books only, right?" Is what she said. On top of that, it's not accessible for wheelchairs; her exact words were that we were going to "smash the books."

Best Armenian bookstore I love the vibe that I get from their store. They almost have all the books you need if not they get your number and call you as soon as they receive it.

I’ve been coming to the store for about 30 years and each visit is exhilarating. Great variety and selection of adult and children’s books. Also nice paraphernalia representing Armenian culture. The owner is super friendly, knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to help his customers find literally whatever they are seeking out. With ABRIL available, there’s no need for me to look elsewhere for any Armenian books.

So I live in Arizona, and I needed an Armenian Bible to gift to my Goddaughter, on her baptism day. I called to get an idea what they have and the lady whom i forgot her name, offered to facetime me and show me their selection of bibles. She was kind and gracious and they shipped the bible within 2 days and everything went well. This book store as their slogan says is truly "living the Armenian heritage" and we are grateful we have a book store like that in the USA

Enjoyed this bookstore. Got several books in Armenian and English. Lots of English books translated into Armenian. Will definitely visit again!

I wandered into Abril Books looking for an Armenian Cookbook. The owner Arno was so lovely and suggested a Vegan cookbook as I was looking for a special lentil salad recipe. I just found the recipe I have been searching for and several others I'm excited to try. I'm glad this gem of a bookstore is in my neighborhood. Wonderful selection of Armenian books!!

I have an Armenian acquaintance and her husband is very ill. I went to this book store to buy a holy book for her husband she was so grateful. I highly suggest this book store amazing customer service from the owner great place. Please go check it out.

I love this store. Not only does it have a wide variety of Armenian books, but it has sweet accessories, posters, paintings, jewelry and other gifts of Armenian heritage. It is rare for me to walk in and walk out empty handed. They have a fabulous kids section where you can buy Armenian books, clothing, bibs, puzzles, and so forth. Perfect place to find something to remind you of home

Abril bookstore is a gem for the Armenian community in Glendale. I have always found wonderful books that I was and was not intentionally seeking here. I specifically love their kids section and is my go to for gifts. I am so happy they have stuck around for so long

The bookstore has been around for a long time (yay!) and although I have ordered a few books from there, it's been a very long time. Just made another purchase and it was shipped quick. I love the beautiful bookmark they included for me as a gift for my new book, which is Toros Roslin's Armenian alphabet. Love the bookstore and can't wait to start reading my new book. Absolutely adorable & great local Armenian bookstore & gift shop right in Glendale - definitely a gem and much needed for the neighborhood. Always a good selection of the latest books and the classic. They have many art, linguistic, children's & historical books. I've used them many times to find hard-to-get titles for me. Plus they have a great selection of Armenian souvenirs & cute gift options. The owner Arno Yeretzian is a great guy and he is very helpful. A pleasure to have this fine example of a small business flourish despite today's trend toward big and unhelpful chains. Defiantly Abril bookstore is my favorite bookstore to visit personally to buy Armenian books as the ArmenianBookShop.com is my favorite online bookstore for my online purchases.

Ok where should I start! This is the best Armenian book store you can find in the US. Arno, the owner, is an amazing individual, friendly and always there to help you find anything you need. He will get you the books you want and if he doesn't have them he will help you find it. Before COVID he had amazing events at the store. I should say get on his mailing list because he always has something great. If you have not visited his store, make sure you put it on your places to go because his book collection are just amazing to read.

Armenian books written in Armenian and even some translations! Owner and employees extremely knowledgeable! Also lots of really good stuff for kids; flash cards with Armenian letters, children's books, they even have adorable little vests made in Armenia!

Great little Armenian book store where you can find books, cds, dvds etc. There is a young guy that works there that is especially helpful and knows where everything is (unfortunately I didn't get his name). They also have a very good selection of Armenian children's songs and dvds if that is what you are looking for.

I was extremely pleased with the service I received at this establishment... I needed an Armenian-English dictionary and am happy to be able to say that I got what I was looking for and more.... service went above and beyond what I expected and much better than what I had received ,when looking for the same, from the big named retailer at the Americana. They're not limited to dictionaries though, that just happens to be what I needed.. I will definitely be re-visiting .. A Definite Gem*****5 stars.

They have good collection of Armenian books cook books and kids book and flash cards ad well as Armenian cd prayers and flag and many gifts the lady works there is very nice and super helpful she knew her books and what to recommend But the prices are a bit high but I guess that's normal

I was taking my baby for a stroll today and as he fell asleep, I wandered into this little gem of a bookstore. They have a very pretty and inviting storefront with interesting and unique products on display. I had to go inside and make a purchase, or 10. As we walked in, I was greeted by a lady who seemed to be nice and expecting a little baby of her own. As I made my way into an empty store, with my sleeping infant, and classical music playing on my phone for him, she approached me before I had a chance to even glimpse at a product. "Please turn that music off in the store," she says. I thought it was a bad joke. I asked why and she said because I'm working and other clients may walk inside. Mind you, this CLASSICAL music was playing on my phone from inside his diaper bag. I was offended and immediately turned to walk out. This is a bookstore and not a library, and I'm a customer whom you turned away because my classical music bothered whatever "work" you were working on. The only "work" that should've been prioritized at the moment was assisting me in my purchase. I wasn't going to be in the store for longer than 10 mins and was ready to buy many of the wonderful products you offered, however, you turned me away and claimed to be the owner of this store. It's a shame if you are the owner, because you have zero people's skills or business ethics. Beautiful store, wonderful products, but unfortunately, a tactless store owner/employee. (I still don't believe a classy and valuable store such as this can be owned by such a person.) I'm very upset and will never step foot in there again, no matter how intriguing the products seemed.

This place is a gem. It's filled with rich history and culture. I feel so much at home when I look through the books and traditional decor.

A plethora of Armenian books from around the world, with a good selection from private, smaller, or international publishing houses that are not available at major retailers like amazon or B&N. All this being said, by shopping here, you not only get great and personalized customer service, but you support a small family-owned business.

This place is nothing short of wonderful. It is the stereotypical small business bookstore, with the frazzled, brilliant owner who can find any random book or topic you throw at him, and the stacks and stacks of books that you can just get lost in all day. For example, I went there a few months ago because a family friend's wife is Mexican and she wants to learn about her husbands culture and teach their kids about part of their cultural heritage. Enter Abril bookstore: I walked in with the question "do you have any books about Armenian history and culture in Spanish, for children and adults?" He had books about the genocide and culture and even Armenian fables IN SPANISH. Today I stopped by and told the guy that our armenian cousin in Switzerland wants to get in touch with his Armenian roots, And wouldn't you know it HE PULLED OUT A KOMITAS CD WITH SONGS IN GERMAN AND ARMENIAN. This place has been a Glendale landmark since I can remember (and I'm in my 30s) and has earned its hallowed space. I love that it's a small business, I love that it's not your typical Barnes and noble with the bored teenager clerks and the aisles of garbage tchotchkes. This place is an amazing resource, I believe, only surpassed by a famous Armenian bookstore on the east coast.

If your into reading Armenian books then this is one of two places in Glendale I would check out. Books are a bit pricey but since when were books cheap. Let's be real it's not everyday you get the chance to support a family owned business....I highly recommend visiting this store for all my hayrenasers out there :)

Love this place. Wonderful books filled with culture and history. Armenian and English. All kinds of subjects. Love their baby bibs and clothes. Nice little escape from the "real world".

What a special place. This is the biggest Armenian bookstore in all of the US. They have a wide selection of books but they also hold community events regularly in the gallant next door. Arno, the owner of the place, is friendly and intelligent. I love going in there to talk to him and I love the events they organize there. This bookstore is more than a bookstore, it's a community center and an intellectual hub. Thank you Arno for all that you do!

What a great bookstore! The minute I called they knew what I was looking for and I didn't have to go through the hassle of explaining. Went in picked up what I needed and was out in a matter of minutes. I had a wonderful experience!
