A Vendor Is Accusing the Bite of Seattle of Favoritism and High Fees | Eater Seattle

"Acclaimed Beacon Hill restaurant Homer temporarily closed after a fire earlier this summer, but its care for staff stood out: co-owners Sara Knowles and Logan Cox pushed their insurer to cover not only wages but tips, ensuring employees were paid for the full eight-week shutdown; as the South Seattle Emerald put it, “Homer, a small, independent restaurant, chose to embody care.”" - Harry Cheadle

The 2025 Bite of Seattle Is Here | Eater Seattle

"Reopening on August 1, two months after being forced to close due to a fire, the beloved Beacon Hill restaurant’s owners wrote on Instagram: “What a roller coast the last couple months have been. Thank you for all of the check-ins, well wishes, gift card purchases, and reassurances that you’ll still be here come August and beyond (but not all at once, please!).” Note that the restaurant does not accept reservations except for large parties." - Harry Cheadle

The Best Restaurant Desserts in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"Is the waiting list at this Beacon Hill hotspot too long? Here’s the secret — you don’t need to get a table to eat at Homer. It has a window doling out its exquisite soft serve in seasonal flavors like salted peach and fig leaf. (The flavors rotate, but there is always a vegan option.) You can always come back to dine in on Homer’s freshly baked pitas and other delights on an quieter night." - Harry Cheadle

Where to Eat In Beacon Hill

"The husband and wife team Logan and Sara (and their dog Homer) are locals to the Beacon Hill area, where their restaurant is just walking distance from their home. Focusing on Mediterranean and South Asian flavors, almost every dish they have on the menu is fired in their wood burning oven, providing a rustic and earthy depth of flavor to the offerings. Fair warning that some dishes can get rather pricey, but there is also a huge array of options to fit every budget. It no longer offers take out, so this is the perfect place for a leisurely sit-down meal. Don’t forget to stop by the walk up window, which serves seasonal flavors of soft serve." - Laura LeMoon
