I recently celebrated my birthday dinner at Paravicini's Italian Bistro with family. The restaurant, located in Old Colorado City, has a cozy and charming atmosphere with a warm, inviting feel. Ample parking is conveniently available at the back. We had a reservation so we were seated promptly upon arrival. The service throughout the evening was very pleasant and engaging. We started with the Arancini and Calamari Fritti. Both appetizers were delicious with the crab arancini offering a crispy, cheesy, crab bite and the calamari cooked perfectly. However, the portions were smaller than expected for the price. For the main course, we ordered Chicken Marco, Veal Giuseppe, and a pasta special with chicken that was featured that evening, accompanied by a lovely red wine. The Chicken Marco, as other reviewers have mentioned, was a bit dry which was a letdown. The veal and pasta dish were good choices but nothing extraordinary. As a birthday treat, I was given a cannoli to go, along with a birthday card that included a discount for Ristorante di Sopra, the restaurant upstairs. For my overall opinion, while Paravicini's offers a charming atmosphere and friendly service, it didn't quite hit the mark for us and isn't likely to become a favorite.
