Such a great place to explore! You have to check out Cap City Video Lounge, probably one of the last DVD rental stores left in the world! The collection is HUGE!! Also check out Fat Cat Books! The kitties are so chubby and cute and they have a great selection of books!

I recently visited the Railroad Square Art District to ship around. I had a nice time and bought a few things for my collection. It's a nice time.

Very cool area but most of it was closed on a Thursday afternoon. Looks like you need to be there on a weekend.

I love visiting this area for the esthetics but it's always dead when I go. The black expo is always dull and I hate that. The location has potential however idk who advertises for them because its not being pushed enough. The food spots are hit or miss, and I think that depends on the cook and what's going on during that time. Overall if you are a laid back person and you just like to vibe check it out. The Juice Bar is a must try best organic juices can't go wrong with them.

Overall, great potential in this area. If you are someone that loves to explore unique clothing pieces, black owned small business, or unique art pieces, this area is definitely worth exploring. I love the garden wine bar (definitely not the name), also bought a few items in the markets. Wished I was there long enough to try the Jamaican food spot as that jerked chicken smell was on point 🤤.

I love coming here to walk around and look through the shops or get food. Other Side Vintage is great for window shopping. Tallulah is great for the vibes. First Fridays is always a good time. Flamingos takes a long time to serve but the food is DELICIOUS. I love railroad square!

The Art Gallery is small and quaint allowing intimate art views. The host was super nice. In the photo are my Famu Professors who both are prestigious and gave excellent lectures on Contemporary Black Christianity.

Yelp
This is a nice little area located by FAMU. Railroad Square is a WWII-era industrial warehouse park that was turned into an art district. It is decorated with many very nice murals by very talented artist. You will also find a few sculptures around too. It spans about 10 acres and is considered one of the top selfie locations in TallahasseeIt is a creative and colorful space. There are shop, a VR reality spot, a bar, a food court, artist galley/shops, a coffee shop, a smoothie shop, screen printing stores, gift stores and boutiques, thrift stores, music and recording studios, pet stores, performing arts groups, a virtual reality arcade, and a gym. There is also an awesome Skate Art Park here if you would like to shred a few. Some notable shops include Blake's Body Bars, Cap City Video Lounge, Campus Greek, Cat Family Records, What You Got? Thrift Store, The Other Side Vintage, Sweet Boozy Cakes Bakery, Ryder's Water Ice, Morgan's Dog Training, Prime Tatoo Company, The Greenery Floral&Tuxedo Place, The Bee's Knees, Steelyard Gym, and Taste of Miami. There is over 200 free parking spaces in the park and there is free street parking within a reasonable walking distance. There is a patch of open green space outside of the virtual reality arcade. I saw some people playing catch there and also playing with a volleyball. On the first Friday of every month, the park hosts the very popular "First Friday Gallery Hop," an event that provides a lively, enjoyable experience with open galleries/shops, live music, and food. I really enjoyed this place. This is a must visit while you are in Tallahassee. You can easily spend a half day or more here. It is easily accesible and I highly recommend checking this place out if you have the chance.

Yelp
It's a fantastic area. It has restaurants, art shops, thrift stores, game room and more. There are excellent murals on the walls of the buildings!

Yelp
The Art District's featured location, Historic Railroad Square has been the haven for the CREATIVES of Tallahassee for the past 40 years. Through the years this creative, local district has grown with the additions of two more locations: Railroad Village & Railroad Crossings.

Yelp
Railroad Square has so much to offer, with an ever changing line-up of businesses and studios to visit! There is so much more to the square than just First Fridays! So get out there and #CircleTheSquare! Square Mug Cafe and the Craft House are great places to start from and use as your home base before you start wandering, with their delicious selections of coffees and craft beer/wine. I usually take some time at the Otherside Vintage and checking out what's new before seeing the latest exhibition at the 621 Gallery. Then you can stop in for a workout at the Tally Rock Gym or the Iron Vault, or set up a trip down a local waterway at Harry Smith Outdoors. If you're feeling a little more artsy, Feeling Art regularly offers art classes for all skill levels that make it so much fun to bring out your creative side! Flippin' Great Pinball, Cap City Video Lounge, or Gamescape let you feel like a kid again, playing new and vintage games and watching cult classic movies with friends. And last but not least, you can fill up on the homemade sausage and sandwiches from the Crum Box Gastgarden! We have visited Railroad Square so many times over the years, but we always discover a new business and experience each time we visit! With so many local art galleries, shops, and boutiques, rock climbing and outdoor outfitters, a pinball arcade, and even tasty homemade sausage, Railroad Square is such a wonderful community to have in Tallahassee and can't wait to be back out there again soon!

Yelp
Railroad Square is a place where we can all come together as a community. Leave your biases, differences, and -isms at the door, because RRSQ symbolizes the gathering hole all towns must have. First Fridays (the first Friday of each month) offer the best and weirdest of Tallahassee. Art exhibits, food trucks, live music and everything imaginable in between. During the week, it's much slower. But it's a humble abode to grab a coffee at Black Dog, thrift for hours at Other Side, grab a cold one at Proof, and eat a gigantic sausage at Crum Box. If you love supporting local, RRSQ is your new best friend. I can't believe how many people don't visit regularly, because there's so much local greatness going on.

Yelp
Railroad Square is a unique little area in Tally with tons of local shops and places to grab something to eat or drink. Railroad Square hosts a lot of fun events throughout the year. On the weekends many of the galleries open up and local artists show off their work. On the weekdays, check out the local shops and restaurants. One of my favorite events held at Railroad Square is First Friday (held the first Friday of every month). All of the shops, restaurants, and galleries are open showing off what they do best. Live music is playing throughout the square. Food trucks are gathered for delicious eats. The whole area is filled with event go-ers looking to have a great time. The event is always a night to remember. Grab a brew at Proof Brewing Co, a coffee at Black Dog, some vinyl or cool finds at The Other Side Vintage, delicious sausage at The Crumb Box, some art work at 621 Gallery, kayaking gear at Tally Yakker, or even get a workout in at the Tally Rock Gym. All this plus lots more at Railroad Square! There is something for everyone!

Yelp
I love coming here any time I get the chance to. It only comes the first Friday of every month so that's only 12 times out of the year to get the full experience of Railroad Square! Don't miss out on a truly rare place and experience like no other! Within the past year they have added a few new things to enhance the experience such as the food trucks, a new store where they sell sunglasses and purses as well as opened a tea/coffee shop and even a fitness gym. One day I hope to stop by the rock climbing place they have their which is open even when "First Friday @ Railroad Square" isn't going on. I'm glad that this place is available in my hometown, it gives a different experience and look to the city that you can't find in any other area of town!

Yelp
Aug 3, 2018: I was introduced to Railroad Square several years ago and continue to return for obvious reasons. This particular occasion was for First Friday. Let me start by saying that parking during First Friday is extremely difficult to find and police block the entrance road, so good luck! I had to park a few city blocks away but this is an affirmation of the popularity of Railroad Square. I really enjoy the sense of community whenever I come here and most people are approachable and friendly. The entire venue has an earthy - artsy feel that is very inviting. There is a craft beer brewery (Proof) nestled between the whimsical and nonsensical LOL. I enjoy meandering around entering various shops while engaging in a little window shopping. There is something for everyone, even a pinball gameroom! It is family and pet friendly for the most part and is a great reason to put down your smartphone and get into the groove!

Yelp
Absolutely awesome! It was first First Friday and I throughly enjoyed it! From the art studios to the thrift shops to the food trucks, there is a little for everyone and I cannot wait to go back! The weather was a little cold and rainy, so we cut our visit short. But again I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
I love Railroad and all its quirkiness. Such a neat place to spend an afternoon! We regularly attend First Friday's and enjoyed all that Artigras had to offer this year.

Yelp
I love First Fridays here (1st of every month) where you can go, look at art, stroll around, and have fun. Great hidden gem of culture here in tally.
