On the Grid : Little Fitzroy

"“Passion is contagious, it rubs off onto other people”, says Cathryn, owner of Little Fitzroy. It’s clearly evident as the morning rush of customers eagerly await their speciality coffee. This was setup to fill a gap in the local area where you can get caffeinated from 8am (7am on the weekend). They offer a vegetarian and vegan breakfast/brunch menu too, which complements the coffee, and have an extensive pressed juice menu too. Watch out for Little Fitzroy’s monthly dumpling pop-up, part of the Slow Food movement, which is definitely worth sampling. Just don’t come on Tuesdays, it’s the one day they are closed." - fourcolourblack

Came here following recommendations from my Airbnb host, who are also coffee people. They said an Australian opened the store, named after a suburb in Mlebourne, VIC. Loved the little shop. Order and wait outside. Great bean selection. Really knowledgeable and helpful staff. Thanks team. Batch brew available!

This is one of the best cafes in Edinburgh - the atmosphere is incredible and wholesome and the staff were so friendly. We got the fruit granola and avocado bagel for breakfast, with a cappuccino and latte. The food was flavourful, healthy, and nutritious and exactly what we needed. The coffees are very smooth and a lot of milk alternatives available. 95% of the pastries and sandwiches were vegan and it was amazing having such a choice there! Really really would recommend.

I really enjoyed my visit to this small, charming coffee shop! The staff were attentive and friendly, and they offered great recommendations for the most yummy afternoon coffee & pastry treat. They had a lot of vegan options as well as non-vegan, and I'd gladly come back again to try more :)

Fantastic artisan coffee, delicious sweet and savoury pastries with lots of vegan choices, the best coffee I’ve had in Edinburgh 🥰

I had breakfast twice at this place, and all the pastries I tried were very good; their peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies were my favorite. Many of their pastries are vegan, and they have vegetable milks for coffee and hot chocolate. Plus, they have a very nice space with tables, which is quiet and relaxing, and very friendly staff.

Cute, cozy, and delicious coffee shop in Edinburgh. My husband & I wanted to visit new establishments during our trip and coffee is our love language so naturally we had to check out Little Fritzroy Coffee. Glad we did! We arrived shortly after they opened and were greeted by some friendly faces. They walked us through their menu and we ended up ordering two muesli’s, two lattes, and a pain au raisin (my favorite European bread!). The muesli was amazing! Very tasty, lots of flavor, and filling. The coffee was delicious as was the baked good. I would highly recommend this coffee shop if you’re looking for a beautiful cup of coffee and some good breakfast choices.

I think I just had the best coffee of my life. The rating is well deserved. I was sceptical about the Kimchi bun but it’s great. I’m not even a black coffee drinker and the long black was delicious! The iced flat white was refreshing on this rare Edinburgh sunny summer day.
