The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Istanbul

"In 2014, however, their ambitions took on a rather more global character, and the first step into uncharted territory was taken by 10 Karaköy — a hotel that’s at the same time recognizably a member of the Morgans family and possessed of a contemporary Turkish character all its own." - MICHELIN Guide

The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Istanbul

"For many, many years the Morgans hotel group was perfectly content to own a significant cross-section of the New York, London, Miami and Los Angeles boutique-hotel trade. 10 Karakoy Istanbul (Istanbul, Turkey) 27 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The waterfront district of Karaköy is one of the city’s oldest, but it’s also the site of quite a lot that’s exciting about life in present-day Istanbul — and that includes the 10 Karaköy. This luxury boutique hotel is fashioned from a neoclassical building and after its reimagining at the hands of architect Sinan Kafadar, it’s a masterful marriage of the classic and the contemporary." - Tablet Hotels

We loved it! Very nice & stylish hotel, 100% worth the price. The lobby area with the small waterfall fountain is stunning! The rooms are modern, good condition, look and feel expensive. Everything is very clean and well organised. The breakfast is balanced, lots of proteins/carbs, also veggies and fruits. Almond milk is available. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Always help with the luggage, any questions you might have. Everyone speaks English. We were able to book urgently with no issues. The only problem is the noise from the outside (very busy street), could be solved by just offering earplugs, but unfortunately they were not available. Other than that, the location is perfect, super close to the tram station. I can recommend this hotel, and if we visit Istanbul again, most likely we will stay here. Thank you for such amazing experience!

The location is super convenient; 15 min walk to the mosques, bazaars, and so much more. I send my salute to the staff for being super friendly and HONEST. I left my Louis Vuitton bracelet behind in the room after checking out and realized it when I got to my next travel destination in Europe. I reached out to the front desk and they were able to locate the item and they worked out the logistics to get it shipped to my home in the USA. It’s very hard to find honest people in this world. I am very thankful of the team at the hotel and recommend them to everyone.

I can’t stop loving this place and every time I come to Istanbul, I can’t stay in another place. Special thanks for Mr Latif as he was truly Latif ( which means nice person) as he was so much helpful. Also, one more message to the management that try to keep your staff as they already lost 3 good employees, Adam, Ebrar and lately Bilal. We like to see same faces every year it give us good feelings. Make them happy so they make the place happier. Best regards,

shahidnz

The hotel is beautiful. Well appointed; comfortable rooms; excellent and friendly staff. Very helpful. Both the guest relations officer (Ms Ebrar) and the front desk staff (named Mr Arda Kayikci) were very friendly and helpful. A very good experience and highly recommended. The breakfast is also truly memorable.

We spent three nights in Istanbul at 10|Karakoy as our first stop on our tour of Turkey. With so many accommodation options in Istanbul, I'm happy we selected this hotel.||The hotel's location was excellent. It was a very short walk to the marina and dozens of restaurants. It was on the main boulevard making it easy to find.||The check in and check out was a breeze, and all of the staff members were helpful and friendly. One staff member, AYKUT, in particular was super helpful.||He took the time to explain how the train system worked and how to obtain a card for payment. He also provided detailed directions and made other transportation suggestions. We really appreciated his help.||Regarding the room, it was big enough for us, well-decorated, clean, and functional. We also had a decent view of one of the prayer towers. The hotel also had a rooftop where you could take your drinks to and view the city.||Overall, we had a five star experience and would stay at 10 Karakoy again.

I recently stayed at 10 Karaköy for 2 nights during my vacation in Istanbul. While the hotel itself was fine, I had a deeply troubling experience with the airport transfer they arranged for my early morning flight. I specifically requested a reliable driver due to the early hour, and the staff assured me that they were arranging someone trustworthy whom they regularly work with. Their confidence is the only reason I didn’t take a safer alternative like a shuttle or bus. However, during the drive, the car suddenly swerved and nearly hit another vehicle in a different lane. I called out in alarm—and to my shock, the driver had been dozing off. Even after narrowly avoiding the collision, he continued to drive erratically and appeared to be falling asleep again. It then became clear he was under the influence—he reeked of alcohol and was using a lemon-scented spray during the ride, presumably to mask it. Just 7 minutes before reaching the airport, he abruptly transferred me to a different car, claiming he had forgotten his license—likely to avoid being reported to airport authorities. This was a terrifying experience and completely unacceptable. I have never received this kind of service from a 5-star rated hotel. Safety should be a basic expectation, and this is not how guests should be treated. I would not trust any services arranged by this hotel again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with our 3 months old baby. Hotel is great, staff is extremely nice and responds quickly to each demand! Our room was clean and spacious and the hotel is well decorated (same as in the pictures!) Thank you for making our stay in Istanbul delightful!

Yelp
I love this hotel. It's BEAUTIFUL and the staff is amazing. The restaurant is one of the best in Istanbul and the lounge is cool. What's even more amazing is the customer service. I broke my foot (at the metro station) during vacation in Istanbul. I tried to champ it out in my room thinking it was a sprain but I was in excruciating pain and the wonderful staff finally convinced me and sent me off to a great hospital. Upon my return from the hospital they literally catered to me and were so empathetic while I was in crutches and a boot. They sent free food to my room, had their concierge fill my prescriptions for the pain meds, they walked my friend and I to a restaurant and had patience while I was struggled the crutches!!!! They really went above and beyond. I am forever grateful to the kindness the staff and management have shown. I cannot wait to go back and just bring gifts back for the great staff. If you're ever in Istanbul, please stay at the 10 Karaköy.

Yelp
10 Karaköy is a boutique hotel and, with less than 75 rooms, one cannot expect all of the amenities customary at a major property, such as room service or a swimming pool. What one gets, in trade off, is a quiet, intimate, and well-maintained facility that offers a pleasant stay in a good location. Still, though advertised as a five-star hotel, this is really a four-star property and I have evaluated it against that criteria. LOCATION: 10 Karaköy could not be more centrally located for most of the key visitor destinations in Istanbul. It is mere blocks from Galata Bridge which, after crossing, places one 30 minutes (by foot) from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, and Grand Bazaar. Thirty minutes in the other direction is the Dolmabahçe Palace, Istanbul Naval Museum, and Vodafone Arena. For those who prefer not to walk, a metro station is just a block or two from the hotel's entrance. There was heavy construction occurring outside the hotel when I stayed, which included ground-penetrating drilling. This construction began at midnight and continued until 4 a.m. On two different nights I was awoke by the walls of my room shaking from the tremors of the drilling and the noise level was so loud it was impossible to get back to sleep. This is obviously beyond the control of the hotel but requires mention anyway. ROOMS: Rooms are modern, impeccably maintained, and well-appointed. STAFF: Hotel staff are friendly, professional, and accommodating. AMENITIES: There is free wifi. There is no room service. FACILITIES: Though hotel literature indicates the ground-level restaurant is open for lunch and dinner it was, when I stayed, only open for breakfast. The bar serves a short menu of simple, pricey, and uninspired fare that - though nicely presented - may simply be pre-packaged meals that are heated. While the hotel advertises its open-air rooftop "Sky Terrace," this facility was closed during my entire stay. This may simply be a function of low hotel bookings brought on by the current Istanbul tourism downturn and the need to limit staff. A small exercise room is clean and tidy and stocked with modern equipment. The hotel's lobby is a work of art.
