We enjoyed our dinner overall the vibes are great, the drinks were amazing and strong. However the shrimp scampi tasted sour, and all my life I have been ordering shrimp scampi in different restaurants it’s not supposed to be sour! That was my only complaint, please rethink that recipe.

very hometown feel, the staff is the best! the owners clearly have a spoon in all of the pots. the love trickles down from management level and it shows. not very common these days. if i can say something order the rosey posey!

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch at Sorella, a very good local Italian restaurant. If you have not been here before, be sure to visit. A fun location, situated in a busy section of Hartford, adjacent to Pratt Street, which is filled with shops, and the area has plenty to do. The inside has nice ambiance and the patio seems like a fun spot for nicer weather. We had some drinks, a Manhattan and a herb type gin drink. The chopped salad was delicious, and a meal on its own. The Brussel sprout appetizer was delicious too. The meals were great. Shrimp Scampi, Rigatoni Bolognese, and Chicken Marsala. We took food home and ate every last bite. Sadly, we skipped on dessert.

Came here after a mud run in the area & wanted a good meal… service was great & staff very friendly & knowledgeable. Drinks were tasty & the brie w fig appetizer was sooo good w their house made bread! Only disappointment was that they didn’t have the filet.

Google
We spontaneously decided to have dinner at Sorella and were truly impressed by the food and hospitality. Their wood-fired Margherita pizza was insanely good—so flavorful and fresh—and the pasta was just as incredible. This place is a total gem! 100% recommend!”

Google
I recently attended an event at Sorella in Hartford, and it was absolutely fantastic. This was my second visit, and I loved it just as much as the first, the food is consistently amazing. The gnocchi, the meatballs, and the chicken parm were all outstanding, full of rich flavor and clearly made with care. And I have to mention the cannolis… truly out of this world. Easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were just as impressive. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We were in the downstairs room, and it was the perfect cozy atmosphere for any gathering. warm, intimate, and beautifully set up. I’d recommend Sorella in a heartbeat for both dining out and hosting events. It’s truly a gem in Hartford.

At the end of a long day of travel, my wife and I were in the mood for some simple, delicious comfort food. We walked the two short blocks from the DoubleTree and had no trouble getting a table as walk-ins. My wife ordered the Melanzana (wood-fired roasted eggplant with marinara, burrata, and arugula salad). She thought it was absolutely terrific. I ordered "buccatini 'cacio e pepe'" and was equally pleased. A simple dish, perfectly prepared. Both the hostess and our server were very pleasant. Definitely worth a stop; I hear the pizza is also excellent.

Google
Wasn't impressed. The restaurant is nice and has great potential. My server was good but not great. He was attentive, but could have paid closer attention to clearing the used plates on the table to give us more room for the next dish coming. We started with the fried mozzarella. Was cooked on the outside but a solid block of mozzarella on the inside and was cold. It was sent back. The orecchiette was anything but orecciette. The broccoli rabe in it was all stalk, the sausage was bland and burnt, and it had some type of weird brown sauce. Orecchiette has no sauce, just olive oil, broccoli rabe, sausage, garlic and parmesean cheese. Not sure what I got. The bolongnese was bland with very little flavor. I've had a better meal at Olive Garden. Overall bad experience and the place could use a chef. Not sure how they got all these great reviews. I'm guessing those leaving great reviews never had fine Italian food.

Yelp
This is one of those places I am shocked isn't more busy. If people stop hyping Hartford to be as dangerous as Gotham city this place would be impossible to get into. Way better than the over hyped places in west Hartford center. Have been here maybe 6-7 times with my wife and also my family. Every time has great. It my wife's favorite lobster roll. She always calling to confirm they have it on the menu and can save her one. I've had all types of their pasta and it's always delicious as well as their pizzas. The servers are always nice and everything comes out quick. It is probably my 3rd favorite Italian restaurant in CT. Defiantly recommend The ravioli was delicious the last time I went.

Yelp
I ordered takeout from Sorella in downtown Hartford and overall, it was just okay--3 out of 5 for me. I called in my order and picked it up myself. The staff was polite over the phone and at pickup, but the experience had a few hiccups. I got the fried calamari, crispy Brussels sprouts, mango iced tea, and strawberry lemonade. The calamari itself was decent, but the marinara sauce was a bit too oily, which took away from the flavor. The Brussels sprouts were overly crispy--almost burnt--so they were more bitter than crunchy. I was looking forward to them, so that was a letdown. As for the drinks, they didn't have a proper drink carrier and made a makeshift one. I appreciated the effort, but the lid popped off the mango iced tea as soon as I stepped outside, and it spilled. I lost a good bit of it trying to fix the situation, which was frustrating. The ambiance inside seemed nice--modern, clean, with a cozy vibe--but since I was doing takeout, I didn't get to fully experience it. Would I try them again? Maybe--but I'd dine in next time and probably skip the Brussels sprouts.

Yelp
Poor service, not accommodating at all. Splitting checks is apparently kryptonite for these people as well as taking multiple credit cards. Hello!? It's 2025 Sorella! Average ambiance. Food was decent. Not going back again.

Yelp
Been to Sorella countless times, their food is great for an Italian craving. Most recently, I stopped in with a friend for a quick bite before a show. We didn't want to get much so we just got the garlic bread and split a couple of desserts. The garlic bread was good but paired with their sweet marinara, it was even better. I loved the house made cannoli! Service was quick although the staff kept making remarks about what we were eating (not a full meal) and it got old pretty quick. Definitely a good spot to stop in whether you're grabbing quick bites or a full dinner. I always prefer to sit outside but that wasn't an option due to low staffing which is understandable. Looking forward to people watching and cannoli eating this summer.

Yelp
One of the few places now in downtown that meet the office lunch criteria...decent ambiance with good food and decent drinks. The place to be now that the dish and the city steam are no more... Love their flatbreads and pizzas. Calamari always good. The last time I had their famous kichensink salad..

Yelp
If you're an Italian aficionado, just come to Sorella. We could not have been happier with the warm & welcoming ambience, stellar food & exceptional service! We sat at a high top in their cozy bar. Treated ourselves to signature cocktails followed by Dish bread (holy yum for kids of all ages) & a delicious chopped salad with chickpeas, feta, & and a yummy vinaigrette. For dinner, we ordered their brick oven pesto pizza with tomato jam, Annie's White, & fresh bucatini Cacio e Pepe - OMG. We consider ourselves kind but discerning & everything we received was top notch. Ashley & the entire staff could not have been nicer. They work together as a great team should. Will absolutely be back!!!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. We made reservations and it came recommended. The food was very good, actually....the service was not. Bolognese was amazing as was the Eggplant Entree. Not a fan of the meat and cheese app as the ratio of meat/cheese to the waffle thing was off. It started with telling the waiter John C that we were going to the Hartford Stage. We ordered drinks. The drink that three of us got was the same-one of us liked it. It tasted like cough medicine. We asked for some Persecco to add to it to think it down...that's where the lack of customer service started. After this, our waiter started ghosting us. Didn't come over to the table, ask if we wanted water, etc. the Apps came out, then the entrees. We noticed other tables had table bread. We had to ASK for some. It came after the entrees. We then wanted dessert. It was good but by this time we needed to leave for show and waiter was MIA. I am not sure I will be back if this is how the service is consistently. We weren't rude to waiter, we just didn't like the cocktail. Drinks weren't taken off bill nor were we asked if we wanted something different. Very disappointed as it could have been a very lovely meal!

Yelp
Super nice hostess and waiter. Delicious food! We ordered their special cheese bread to start, and it was like eating half a delicious pizza before dinner! So I recommend that you plan accordingly! You might bring more of that home, to make stomach space for your dinner. We had the Spicy Vodka Rose and the Gnocchi Pesto. I liked having the braised chicken in with the gnocchi. So delicious and filling. Good wine to go with. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food was good. My wife and I stopped in after attending a play at Hartford Stage. We went to a matinee and weren't quite hungry enough for dinner and decided to split a pizza and salad. I also had the calamari. My wife eats all the hot peppers, we always get the RI style if it's available. Pizza was good and the Caesar was excellent. Calamari hit the spot. Couple of glasses of Pinot and we enjoyed the space. We love to sit at the bar when we try a new place but we were slow leaving the theater and it was full. Would have like the bar area a little better than the dining room, but it was fine and our server was attentive. We will be back!

Yelp
Great food, reliable and consistent - a block away from Hartford Stage - perfect for dinner or apéro before a show. House made bread - go ahead! Get a few carbs -

Yelp
Hi! I am Bob Kopac and I am one of 2 runners who has completed every Hartford Marathon. When I come into Hartford for my pre-race dinner, there is only one place I go: Sorella's! For GREAT pasta, complemented with superb service and a friendly atmosphere, go to Sorella. I look forward to eating there before next year's race and whenever I am in Hartford. Thanks Sorella and all your great staff!

Yelp
I've been on Pratt St tons of times but never got the chance to try Sorella until recently! THE FOOD -Split the meatball app and very tasty! I would recommend and get it again. I would've like to try the calamari or something else too but the person I was with doesn't eat it. -Orecchiette: I told the server I like spicy and she recommended this! I really enjoyed it. The crumbly sausage was very tasty. Slight things I would change: more broccoli rabe and I would have liked it a little less cooked (it was dark green and didn't have that gorgeous crisp to it), for me the dish could've been spicier (didn't have that kick I'm used to with arrabiata sauce) , and the dish was a bit oily for my liking (lots pooled on the bottom). I ate about half and the leftovers reheated really well on the stove (I added a little extra sauce at home). -Gnocchi: the person I was with got the gnocchi. While I didn't try it, they really enjoyed. It looked delish! THE DRINKS -Tequila mockingbird: I was in the mood for something spicy and the server said this will do the mark but can make it spicier if I wanted. I tried it as is and she was so awesome so came over and used a spicy concentrate dropper to give it more oomf. I will say it wasn't as cold as I would've liked, perhaps could've used a longer shake behind the bar, but I got some ice and all was well. -Mule: my friend got a mule and liked it! THE SERVICE: -I think the service is what really put the experience over the top for me. While I enjoyed the food and drink, the service really made me feel welcome and special. THE ATMOSPHERE -we had a 2 seat high top near the bar. Those seats are sometimes a little uncomfortable for me to sit in for long periods but we got to see a lot of stuff come out of the kitchen and be made at the bar -there are low top tables near the windows and in an area near the pizza oven I think I would really like to try next time I visit. Overall, I enjoyed trying Sorella. I would go back and try some other menu items. Definitely the pizza as it looked very good!

Yelp
Had lunch with friends today. Service was awesome. Love the atmosphere and general feel of the place. I've eaten here a few times and usually get one of the pasta dishes which are good. Today I went with the kitchen sink salad with chicken. Really disappointed. Advertised with cucumber and tomatoes as well as chickpeas, feta and tortilla. It came with a 1/2 a cherry tomato and very few, small chopped up cucumber. It did have the chick peas and some feta and a lot of tortilla and mainly just lettuce. Not overly generous with the chicken to the point I'd question if it was even 4oz. I would not recommend the salad as it was not worth the $22.

Yelp
We had a group of 15 at Sorella before a show at Hartford Stage, and every aspect of our visit was wonderful -- the drinks, the atmosphere, the food, and most of all, the service. Our server, Lisa, was attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful. With guests spanning multiple generations, her thoughtful and professional service made a truly positive impact on our evening. She went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly and made us all feel welcome. Lisa really made our night, and we are so grateful. Thank you, Lisa, and thank you, Sorella, for a fantastic experience!

Yelp
I was BLOWN AWAY but my experience at Sorella. The vibes are amazing, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food was EXCEPTIONAL! The food came out fast and they did not miss on the portions, I had the best leftovers! The DISH Bread and Fried Calamari were so delicious. I ended up getting the chicken pesto pasta and the pesto had the perfect flavor that complimented the chicken. The best part was the dessert...I got the J Fosters Smores/Graham Cracker Ice-cream...the best ice cream i have ever had! I cannot recommend this place more, make sure to have a reservation!

Yelp
A hidden gem in downtown Hartford. The pizza was excellent, as was the service. We sat at the bar and enjoyed very much.

Yelp
Excellent meal, ambiance, service, etc. We had very good calamari (large portion and large calamari) see picture. I had the orecchiette which is housemade sausage, broccoli rabe, spicy arrabiata sauce, and pasta. See picture.

Yelp
Service was quick and the food came out fast, everything was flavorful and good size portions. There were a ton of shrimp in the pasta!

Yelp
11 of us ate here last night after a graduation and we had a great time! The waitress was fantastic and everyone loved their food. We tried a number of things to share with the table and nobody left hungry. We live an hour and a half away or we would visit on a more regular basis. We also liked how the inside was decorated.

Yelp
It's been a while but glad to see this option still open in downtown Hartford! Sat in the bar and ordered a glass of wine, the grain bowl (farro, roasted mushrooms, roasted summer squash, lacinato kale, crumbled feta cheese, balsamic vinaigrette) and the warm olive oil cake. The grain bowl I will be thinking about for a long time! Sooo good. The farro is toasted which adds a nice depth of flavor and crunchier texture. All the roasted items were so well done but still left some texture. The menu didn't say it but it also had roasted carrots. The overall flavor with some slight sweetness from the balsamic and squash played well with the savory cheese. If you are not too hungry it works well as a meal by itself but you can add protein options as well. The warm olive oil cake was a thick slice from a loaf pan that they toasted to make it crunchy and then put it on top of lemon curd. A nice, not too sweet way to end a meal. It definitely eats a little heavier but it's enjoyable. Service was really friendly and food came out quickly. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
I hosted 30 guests at Sorella Hartford yesterday for a surprise 50th birthday party and I can't say enough good things about the experience! From the minute I sent them an inquiry, they were a pleasure to interact with. Their private event prices are very competitive with other downtown Hartford restaurants. The private room is beautiful. It was fully taken up by a long dining table, so mingling was a little challenging, but we all just swapped around to different seats between courses and it worked out fine. Our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was. Paulie served us for the event and he was absolutely top notch - kept our glasses filled, remembered everyone's drink orders, accommodated a last minute dietary need without a hitch, and was funny on top of it all! Awesome experience - highly recommended!

Yelp
I can't stop thinking about the food since I visited last weekend. Everything is absolutely delicious! This place has me craving their beets! I don't even eat beets lol. The service is was great and food came out fast even though they were super busy. 10 out of 10 I recommend! Make reservations though because they are pretty busy.

Yelp
"I'll meet you any time you want In our Italian Restaurant" (Billy Joel) Four of us had tickets to see a 7:30 show at Hartford Stage and made 5:45 reservations at nearby Sorella, which was about a 2 minute walk away. As we were escorted to a table we walked past a huge party that was celebrating a wedding rehearsal dinner. Within a few minutes of our arrival, it seemed as though the entire restaurant was full, so I was super happy we made reservations. Our server John C. was personable, funny and very efficient. The four of us started off by sharing two fantastic appetizers. Dish Bread was a big $10 loaf of toasted bread slathered with Boursin cheese, mozzarella, roasted garlic and served with a ramekin of marinara. Our second appetizer was Octopus Umido with stewed octopus, olives, capers, clams, fingerling potato, white wine, and chopped tomato for $18. This was awesome with plenty of super tender octopus chunks. Our four entrees were Chicken Marsala ($25), Black Linguini with Shrimp ($28), Caesar Salad with Meatball ($16), and Rigatoni Saltimbocca with ground veal ($24). Everyone loved their food. I had the Black Linguini with shrimp and there were at least 8 shrimp and plenty of pasta in the dish -a very good value in a downtown restaurant for $28. We all went for a dessert, and shared a dish of ice cream. A tiramisu (not a first choice but their chocolate torte was unavailable) and a fantastic dish named Affogato - a twin headed dish with a small cup of espresso and a scoop of J. Foster Toasted Almond Gelato. When I combined the two, the taste was fantastic. Our lovely dinner for four ran $159.95 after tax and before tip. It was a terrific experience.

Yelp
Tried for my 1st time. Great place to share small plates or large. Food was very good and so was the service. Trying the pizza next time but great to know their Pastas were delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
I loved my experience here. We had a party of seven. Our table was setup and available when we arrived. Service was absolutely stellar. My wife had the steak Diane which was so tender it pulled apart with a butter knife. I had the Jersey boy pizza which I highly recommend. I'd go back here anytime!

Yelp

Yelp
The red pie was amazing! It's had a crunch or the crust and then fresh toppings. The dessert was great! The chocolate dessert was sweet but not too overpowering. It had a rich coffee taste. The dish bread was even flavorful. It had a great cheese pull as well. The pasta wasn't the star of the show but was also good. They did a great presentation on all of the dishes. When I was in New York City nothing tasted as good as here's dishes. The amount of food that they gave us was nice. They gave us four slices if the dish bread which was just enough for the three of us. The people who server us were also very nice to us. They refilled my water glass and also asked how everything was. When we finished a dish they whisked it away. It was like they could sense if a dish had been finished. Over all I would come here again and this restaurant made my trip worth it!
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst customer service! Do not come here. We walked in the door a female greeted us told us 10 min wait, then a male came by 1 min later said 20 min wait, then a third person came by 1 min later said 30 minute wait. During this time they sat a party of 1 at the bar immediately. But told us the wait was due to kitchen backed up and we were a party of 2. Don't bother with this place, so many more places to eat in this area!
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way home to New York. The food was amazing. For apps we got the Burrata and brussels sprouts. For entrees we got the kitchen sink salad with a meatball on the side and the penne. Everything was so amazing. The sizes were also very big and was affordable. Definitely would go back to this place even living an hour away. Highly recommend! The over vibes were also very cute!
google avatar

Lorrie H.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for dinner recently. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. Employees and owners were very nice and attentive. Would definitely come back. Two comments on the appetizer dish. The peppers could have been blistered more and would have been nice to have a little bread for the burrata. Otherwise everything else was great!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Great spot for some authentic Italian food in downtown Hartford! Outstanding service, nice sized portions for the price, and most importantly, great food. I tried the "Sunday Dinner" which had veal braciole, spicy Italian sausage, a huge meatball, polenta, and great sauce. They had a great wine list and made a solid old fashioned!
google avatar

Xenia M.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Sorella while visiting Hartford. They are known for their pizza and pastas, but I opted for the salmon entree since I wanted to eliminate carbs. The salmon comes with spaghetti squash and tomato jam which has a very unique taste. I also recommend the meatballs. You get 3 very large meatballs which is more than enough. Meatballs had lots of flavor and sauce which I loved. Service was also good. Our server was friendly and she gave us lots of suggestions. The food also comes out pretty quickly.

Yelp
A group of friends visited Sorella in downtown Hartford after a small event. It was my first time. The outside is nondescript. The inside was pleasant, but didn't make a strong statement either. Although I photographed several dishes, I ordered the chicken Parm dinner, and tried the fried calamari, the grilled octopus and the Quattro Colore Salad we ordered as Apps. After I couldn't choose among several dishes, I looked at entree pics on the Yelp App and noticed the Chick Parm looked great. That convinced me to order it. It arrived with the cheese as perfectly melted as it was in the pic. The mound of cheese-covered chicken cutlet, rested on linguini. The bites with a lot of cheese were very good. The other bites were decent. The marinara sauce didn't have much of a presence. Not sure if that's because of when or how it was added to the pasta or some other factor. The chicken texture was inconsistent, but mostly good. A portion of the breading was past peak color. If I was just grading the chicken Parm, it would be 3.5 Stars. I didn't have the sense that the other people at my table connected strongly with their entrees either. The App course was better. The fried calamari was solid. The octopus looked great, was very well plated with olive oil, corn and flat leaf, and was fairly tender. The Quattro Colore Salad was the best thing I tried. With good bitter greens, Gorgonzola, lemon and marinated cherries, it was a flavor bomb and had great color. Service was fair. Nothing too positive. Nothing too negative. A meal is always better when the service and atmosphere add to the experience. That really wasn't the case. Sorella's 3.5 Star rating really seems about right on. Since I can't give a .5 Star rating, I'll give Sorella the benefit of the fact that I enjoyed time with friends and round up to 4 Stars.

Yelp
A party of 5 yelp friends went to sorella in beautiful Hartford. We weren't disappointed with anything we ordered. I love that they have a special mocktails section of the menu..not everyone wants to or can drink alcohol. We ordered for starters Quattro colore salad Grilled octopus Fried calamari For entrees I personally ordered The orecchiette, came with homemade sausage broccoli rabe and Romano cheese which was delish homemade pasta made in-house as well Also at the table there was Linguine with clams Black linguine Chicken parmesan Rigatoni saltimbocca Which all had the homemade and house-made pasta and everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes as well I definitely would be coming back to check out the other items that they had on their menu cuz everything was excellent
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Overall the food here was alright. I don't think the food has any shining stars, but also few disappointments. My main complaints with the food are slight modifications that can be made, such as less vinegar on the salad, cooking the pasta more (it came a little tough), and some more heft and less cream to the tiramisu. But otherwise I think the place was decent, some slight tweaks to the dishes would go a long way. I will note though, that I came with a very large group, so the quality of the food may have dropped due to the sheer number of orders that came through.
google avatar

Donovan B.

Yelp
Service was pleasant. Pizza was burnt. Wait... pizza was burnt by the pizza chef that used the toilet, just before me, without washing his hands afterwards. Three stars ONLY because it was an otherwise pleasant dining experience, surrounded by family. Health inspector might not agree.

Yelp
Luncheon with work colleagues ENTRANCE - there was a podium but no host. Waited 3-4 minutes before someone came to seat us DECOR - fairly nice but bot super elegant. Had some pictures on the walls, not sure if they were family photos or not MENU - the lunch menu was on paper with 1 side for meals and 1 side for drinks. Not a million items to choose from but just enough. No specials. APPETIZERS - they had a handful but we didn't indulge. You are on your own here ENTREES - I had the orachette that was decent but nothing to write home about. The pizza on the other hand, I was told, was quite good. The pasta ala vodka was good as well. SERVICE - a little lacking as far as attentiveness, particularly as there were not a lot of tables with customers The waiter was quite nice and polite but was rarely around to refill drinks etc. The bus service was very good and dishes were removed promptly KITCHEN TIME - for so few tables the preparation time was a bit excessive and slow. VINO - the house paso Robles Cabernet was thin but nice overall PRICE - I'd say between $$ and $$$ as our bill for 3 was $92 without tip.

Yelp
Sorella's has two websites..My daughter and I clicked on one of them and had a menu pop up, ALONGSIDE A LINK that says download menu. The website had a menu uploaded on the page and featured Wood Oven Chicken Wings. When we called, the woman was: rude, short, curt and inpatient. . THAT ISNT IT!! "NO, YOURE NOT LOOKING AT THE RIGHT MENU" "NO! TRUST ME! YOU ARE NOT ON THE RIGHT WEBPAGE!" "NO I KNOW YOU ARE NOT LOOKING AT THE RIGHT PAGE"! No one cursed at her, but who is going to buy food from someone who is giving attitude on the phone when all you had to say was these are no longer available. Instead of telling the potential customer that they might be wrong, try this Sorella instead of covering for unprofessionalism and rude behavior: I'm sorry. That item is not on our menu anymore. And instead of stating that you cannot take this information down from the website, try reaching out to a capable web designer or IT person to take down conflicting information. And as far as sticking up for your unprofessional staff, how about I tell my job and fellow staff members not to frequent your establishment. Seeing that your score, 3.8, is much lower than Salute or even Pietros. Be thankful you're still viable after Covid. And maybe Capital Community College needs to know not to frequent this establishment since you cannot stand up for your integrity. And before you say she cursed you out...I would too if I was being lied to or talked to like someone beneath you.. Be mindful..your food was mid when I went there 2022..don't let a rude bitter server be your downfall..

Yelp
Ordered a mix of dishes. All of which were light, full of all the right flavors, and beautifully presented. The mozzarella sticks were the freshest best I've ever had. Simple with the perfect crunch and cheesy stringy-ness. The texture of the crumbs were my favorite. The eggplant, the beats with the incorporation of nuts, and the tomato confit were perfectly paired with buratta. I over indulged (something I rarely do) and ordered some of their irresistible desserts tiramisu, and the olive oil cake. The tiramisu was the best i've ever had by far. I would definitely go back. The clean, sufficient service was a plus too.

Yelp
We sat at a high top in the bar area. It was very cozy, nice atmosphere, moderate noise level. I ordered vegetarian lasagna, it sounded heavy but worth it! Worth every fattening, cheesy bite. My husband had Atlantic Salmon. He cleaned the plate. The service was great. We'll be back!

Daniel S.

Yelp
The service was good, atmosphere was nice, the food was mediocre. I'm sorry to say. I will give it to them the calamari was good. However both entries were left wanting. Not nearly enough seasoning. Strangely the marinara for the calamari was not good, it was lukewarm, I've tasted jarred sauce with more flavor. If I'm back in area I'll think I'll go somewhere else. Really deserves 2.5 stars

Yelp
It's a great spot in downtown Hartford. We had a little pasta party here a couple of weeks ago. Here's a few of the dishes that we tried- Linguini with Clams- Littleneck clam, Calabrian chili, garlic, white wine, lemon and parsley Black Linguini- Soppressata, gulf shrimp, jalapeno pesto, cream, and squid ink linguini Orecchiette- Hot sausage, broccoli rabe, Calabrian chili, arrabiata and Pecorino Chicken Parmigiano- Breaded cutlet, marinara, fresh Mozzarella and linguini The Black Linguini was my favorite out of all of them The were all delicious- but that one stood out to me. The appearance and the taste. I really liked the jalapeno pesto. We also tried a few apps- the octopus and the calamari. Of those two, the calamari was my fav. Our server kindly brought us out some bread that we used for dipping. I thinks that's a nice touch. In the past, I have had their pizza and it was good too! They also have great outdoor seating. I'm happy to see Sorella on the end of Pratt Street. I wish Pratt Street would fill up with places to eat in general. It's a cool street with cobblestones and would make for a super fun destination in Hartford if it were more populated.

Yelp
My family and I were on the hunt for a quick bite to eat in the Hartford area before the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival and stumbled across this establishment. This was not only my first time in Hartford, but also my first time at Sorella! Upon entrance, there is outdoor and indoor seating. My party decided to sit indoors since it's too warm outside. We were seated almost immediately and greeted by our friendly waitress. We ordered the Caesar Salad, Margherita Pizza, Il Diavolo Pizza, the Puttanesca Pasta, the Ravioli Cacio e Pepe, and the Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Sausage. There was so much wonderful food to enjoy! However, a few things I must mention though to future restaurant on goers. My mom ordered seltzer and wasn't understood by our waitress who refers to this as club soda. Another critique about my dish: Ravioli Cacio e Pepe. This is my absolute favorite pasta dish and it wasn't the best Cacio e Pepe. The sauce was a bit salty and the ravioli pasta was unique, but not authentic. I even asked to substitute the ravioli for spaghetti pasta and was told by the waitress that the chef wasn't taking any more substitutions tonight with many orders, but the restaurant wasn't crowded inside or outside. Overall, I enjoyed the pizza more than I did with my pasta entree! Just some food for thought. I would still recommend visiting Sorella when in Hartford!

Yelp
I finally made it to Sorella in hartford. What a great spot with home like environment full of great helpful staff. Not over crowded with staff (I seen 3-4 staff) and they got this place handled really well. Super friendly and super tasty food. Penne ala vodka was my favorite, creamy and full of chicken. Pizza was super tasty, soft center crispy crust, topped with shrimp ( I will not add the jam on top next time)

Yelp
The atmosphere was awesome. Music playing . The bar was nice. Tv playing with the football game on. The service was out of this world. Our waiter was very pleasant. Very talkative and helped with food choices. The pizza was delicious. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Casual Italian Resturaunt. service was good, environment was modern with nice ambiance but also more casual feel towards the bar. Food is good. Bread appetizer comes with amazing sauce. Maybe not the most authentic.

Yelp
and then we went to eat in a real restaurant after seeing a real play...What a day this was. We hadn't been back to Sorella for so long and found it again after seeing a great production of 'Lost in Yonkers' at Hartford Stage. Started to walk to Pratt Street to see what was open and walked into Sorella and greeted by the convivial hostess. After finding a table out of a draft we proceeded to order the Figgy Piggy Pizza for an appetizer [we were hungry] and found it amazingly fresh and delicious, the fresh baby figs lightening up the tangy prosciutto. The pour of Vermentino was super. The entrée was a Veal Saltimbocca over Rotini which is now in my refrigerator waiting to be served tomorrow as the pizza really filled us up but not so much as to avoid dessert. The Warm Olive Oil Cake with Lemon Curd and a good cup of coffee ended up this memorable meal.

Yelp
The ambiance was great, and the service was OUTSTANDING! Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for the portion size! The only things I would mention is that they were out of a few items on the menu and I ordered the chicken parmigiana and the sauce was a bit sweet. Everyone in my party (including myself) loved their meal, so I doubt you could order something off the menu that isn't fantastic! I usually don't like cannoli, but we ordered one and it was delicious, so I'd highly recommend that if you're looking at desserts.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with my one of my girlfriends! And here's my review : Pros: -Lots of delicious Italian menu items -Nice dim ambiance -They're open! (Many restaurants in downtown hartford were closed) -The wait staff was excellent! -Garlic Bread is top tier! -delicious hot toddies Cons: - Nothing was spectacular (calamari was particularly disappointing) - The busser went to the wrong table with our apps and main course (I know we're in the middle of a nationwide staffing shortage. But I think they could've come up with a better system) Overall, I would eat there again in a pinch.
