Cask 'n Cleaver

Everything about this place was outstanding! We came here after hearing there was a 1.5-hour wait at another steakhouse, and it turned out to be the best decision of the night. Our server **Kendell** was fantastic — super attentive without hovering and made us feel completely taken care of. The **cocktails** (Strawberry Margarita and Cadillac Margarita) were perfectly made and absolutely hit the spot. We ordered **two 16oz Prime Ribs and one Filet**, and all three were cooked to perfection. The **salad bar** was fresh, well-stocked, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. Hats off to the entire team for such a great dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a classic steakhouse done right!

Trisha is a great server!! Absolutely love her energy and manners. The food was really good and the salad bar was very fresh. Very cozy atmosphere. The music selection is nice as well. But overall I would say Trisha pulled it all together with her service for my gf & I to enjoy ourselves. God bless

We love the food, whether it's fish or steak. Their salad bar awesome with lots of choices. The servers are all lively and come to the table to see if everything is fine. I've been going there since 1989 and does not disappoint. Even when we felt an items was not to our liking they made sure to replace or compensate. They want to make sure our time there is a great one. I would say try them once and you will go back again.

Our server, Trisha, was immediately amazing. We had a 4 year old and 4 month old at the table, and Trisha made sure to manage their needs, and also acknowledge my sister's birthday. She even upgraded our dessert and included a birthday candle when she saw we had birthday cards on the table! She noticed the Chipotle chicken sandwich was too spicy for my dad. He did try to eat as much as he could, not wanting to cause a fuss, but she noticed and removed it from the final bill. Very good service and great food. We made reservations for 5pm, which was a great idea, as it did get busy pretty quickly for a Wednesday night. The salad bar is great, especially for the price. Will be back for that fudge in the mudpie again!! 🤩

Went with my family for a birthday celebration. Our waitress was excellent and did a great job of checking in and getting us things. That being said, it took forever to get our food. Like over 40 mins, and we all shared so it wasn’t a whole lot of plates. It was good overall. Bummer was the cheese bread, it was hard and cold, but we took the L and enjoyed the free bread they give each table. I would go back. Perhaps not with a larger party.

I have been coming here at least once a year for around 30 years. The food and service has been largely consistent throughout the entire time, and I hope to add another 30 years of visits. I do, however, think the restaurant is long overdue for a small renovation. At least a deep cleaning and new flooring. If finances are a problem, I think the community might even donate to a fundraiser for this effort; the restaurant is practically historical, at this point.

First time here: Had reservations for 7pm, showed up at 615pm and the hostess found a seat for me and my date promptly. Service was great and present throughout our stay, and the manager even checked on us during dessert. We had 8oz top sirloins with sauteed mushrooms and onions, mashed pot, baked pot, broccoli and green beans. Food was so hot, and topped it off with Lemon Cake. Go there! I want to come back to try the drinks and more steak: place and people are cozy and warm.

We love Cask 'n Cleaver. Best steak in town. We've been dining there for generations. Our last trip we didn't have a reservation but they went the extra mile and took care ou us. We really appreciated that.

Great dining experience all the times we've gone here. Last night was our 56th wedding anniversary. And we've been back a couple times.

The ambience of this place is fantastic. There was a gorgeous garden with water fountain out our window. With the hunter green and brown motif and galley chairs, I felt like I was back in the 80s. The salad bar is a huge throwback until you eat it. Every single item is peak freshness and hand made... the eggs, carrots, onions, Freshly made potato salad, dressings including house made Thousand Island and Honey Mustard. I got the all you can eat with my dinner. I was very impressed. For entrees we had the 10 Oz Prime Rib and the teriyaki mixed grill. My sweetheart said the Prime rib was over and next time he would have a steak. I was blown away by the teriyaki steak kabob which was perfectly medium rare like I asked for and was delicious. The dried shrimp were ok but I would pass next time. The chicken came with a slice of grilled teriyaki. I had to take the chicken and my baked potato home. It was so much food for me. The flavors and ambience were outstanding to me. It is great to have a home grown family owned casual dining restaurant right in my neighborhood. I felt I was worlds away. After dinner I enjoyed walking around and exploring the garden. I had initially eyed the mint chip mud pie but it will have to wait for next time.

My family was so upset when the Cask & Cleaver closed down in San Dimas because it was our go to place for Mother's Day and birthdays. Last week when I was supposed to choose a place to celebrate my birthday it was suggested that we go to Cask & Cleaver in Rancho, I didn't even know it existed. It was like finding an old friend! The service was as good as the food, so great!! We will be back!! My only disappointment is that I ordered a "traditional lime daiquiri" and after the server came back multiple times with questions about how I wanted it (rather than the bartender simply looking it up on the internet), I was so disappointed when I received something that resembled a margarita in a water glass. I definitely learned my lesson there, stick to the menu and you won't be disappointed! Excellent steak, potato, and my son loved the deep fried avocado!

The bar area smelled like lacquer. Not sure if that's how it always smells since it was our first time here. The service was mediocre. The food was decent. The drinks were okay. The prices were good. Huge parking lot. Might go back one day, or we might just try a different spot.

We haven't been here in about 5 years. We came here for lunch last week which is a first. Unfortunately for us, they're only open for lunch on the weekdays, Monday to Friday from 11:30am to 2:00pm. We both work. We've only eaten here one other time for dinner so it was definitely a different experience coming during the day. I made a reservation through Open Table as I didn't know if they would be busy or not. When we arrived they had our reservation on file and seated us right away by the window. I was surprised that other people were already arriving as well. I still love the old school feel and ambiance. We literally just came for the salad bar because we hadn't tried it before. I ordered the Salad Bar & Bottomless Soup at $13.95 and my husband got the Salad Bar with the 1/2 Sandwich (he picked turkey) at $14.95. We both ordered drinks, an iced tea and Coke at $3.95 each. Our total with tax came out to $39.65. Anyway, I got one of each soup; the clam chowder and tomato bisque. Their fresh bread is also amazing which went so well with my soup. The salad bar had fresh ingredients and also fresh fruit. We also received great service. Multiple people checking up on us, providing refills for our drinks, and taking away our plates. As we were leaving, the restaurant had a decent amount of customers inside. I asked my husband if he enjoyed his meal and he did. He said the next time we return is probably going to be for dinner again and he'd order a steak.

I've been kind of a salad fiend lately with the hot weather and whatnot, so when I found out that this place has a salad bar only option that includes fresh table bread, I thought I had to go try it at least once. I was also looking forward to trying the bottomless soup, but the soup of the day was meat based so I stuck with the salad bar only this time. It was empty at dinner time and service was very prompt. I loved the fresh bread. It came out slightly warm, but didn't stay that way for longer than a minute unfortunately as the A/C was blasting all night long. There is a sweet brown loaf and a sourdough. Both were so good and fluffy, but I think I was partial to the sourdough. The salad bar was small but had enough of a variety of fixings that I was satisfied. Definitely nothing special about it though. The potato salad was really good! The pasta salad was alright but bland. There's a small variety of fruit and a rice pudding available at the salad bar as well, but I didn't try any this time. Overall, the bread was my favorite part. I probably wouldn't do this again, but for the price and convenience it was a fine experience.

Great 80's style chop house! The prices are reasonable, especially with the cost of beef going through the roof these days, and their steaks are delicious! If they keep doing what they're doing, I'll keep showing up when I need a perfectly medium rare slab of meat to shove in my face.

It's a quaint steakhouse that locals go to. In the bar any day of the week you get $2 off appetizers & good rates on drinks. The service is amazing, they are happy you're there, I've never felt rushed. The food is delicious & at good prices.

Very disappointing. Was one of my favorite places to come for lunch with my sister as she lives so close by. Why have you gone DOWNHILL? You took off the Lunch Menu the most inexpensive item for WHAT REASON???? It was a bowl of soup, a choice of one of 3 salads and the house bread and butter for $6.95. GONE!!! Everything else is at least twice as much. We enjoy the salad bar but don't always want an AYCE choice. We went there today and not only found that gone off the menu, but all the prices UPPED by at least $2. Our Waitress did not get our order right even though we clearly told her what e wanted. We ordered the Soup and 1/2 sandwich (chose the BLTA sandwich, no avocado but extra bacon), also coffee. We got the coffee, the sandwich (with ROCK HARD BACON felt like I would break a tooth. I took it home. Afraid to eat it there. Had to let it soften. Waited around NO SOUP. Had to flag her down and ask where is our soup? "Ohhhh, I thought you got the salad bar" Then why did we ask what the soup of the day was? Finally had our soup and boxed up the rest. got the receipt and charged completely wrong. Overcharged for salad bar and 1/2 sandwich and no coffee. Flagged her down again and had her correct it. Sure her tip reflected this. Sad. My sister tips well when deserved. Doubt we will return, even for the salad bar when there are other local options for salad bars at a more reasonable price and other items included. Sorry. Sad to see the decline here. Good luck.

The wife and I had a great time out with some friends at a place with a really nice vibe. The servers were also very friendly and attentive. The food was decent. I ordered the fish and chips, which were good, but my wife's steak was a bit dry, despite being well-seasoned.

Came here for dinner extremely happy smiling greeters. We were sat very quickly. For being such a big and busy restaurant it was quiet enough for us to have a conversation. It's nicely lit not too dark not too bright just perfect for a night out. The food was amazing started with garlic cheese break and the spinach and artichoke dip was perfect!!! Then ordered the peppered ribeye with mushrooms and roasted red pepper butter!! Let me tell you it was beyond delicious!!! Also ordered the peppered kabobs with green beans again amazing plate with great portions!! Btw our server was extremely attentive and fast!!! Great service!!

We celebrated our birthday here about a week ago. Aiden was our waiter and he was great. He was on top of everything was very pleasant. The food was fantastic. Never had a bad mail here. The steaks are always so great hats off to the chefs. thank you Cask N Cleaver. You never disappoint. Everything always taste so good and it's always feels good to be there we make the best memories there

Came here for my son's birthday. Food was fine, but for what it ended up costing I can think of better options. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth because despite telling our server it was my son's birthday, he did not receive a complimentary dessert or even a candle in the dessert he ordered -- unlike a man at the table next to us whom she brought ice cream with a candle, led a rendition of "Happy Birthday" and took a pic of their table. I assume she forgot.

It's a fun place. Salad bar is great. Fish and chips was very disappointing as I've always had big pieces of cod or haddock. Now the fish is like those frozen dinosaur I wish they would go back. Service is always outstanding

This place has been here for a long time, but I finally got the chance to try it out. On a Saturday night, it was pretty packed, so it's a chance you might not be able to grab a table without a reservation since it was a full house. We waited for about 10 minutes and were seated quickly. We met our friendly waitress who helped us with our orders and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu. The dining area feels pretty close to the other seats, but there is definitely a lot of seating to go around. It was very busy and had a good volume to the noise around us. We ordered the mammoth chicken, button mushroom appetizer, ribeye with mashed potatoes, and a prime rib with rice pilaf. Overall, the chicken felt a bit overcooked and wasn't a great experience since it was dry and a bit hard. The ribeye was cooked to medium and was a good flavor overall. The prime rib was cooked to medium rare and is spot on with the flavor and texture. The dishes are from least to most tasty and I'd recommend the prime rib for visitors, especially for the price since it was around $30-40 for the prime rib. This price is crazy to me with how good it was. Overall, this is a great place to visit for a steak/prime rib for celebration dinners or special occasions. I will come back when the time comes.

My BF remembers going to cask and cleaver, as a child. He assumed they were all gone, but I found one left, so I surprised him with dinner! The restaurant is a blast from the past, core memory unlocked! We had teriyaki chicken and steak and salad. They also have a bar and desserts, for the next time we come back By the way, the bread rolls are not to be missed!!

My favorite place for prime rib because it never disappoints. The service is always excellent. I also love that such a legendary steak house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Also their salad bar option is a great add on.

What a great place!! Usually very good service. Tonight we were here with the family and our waiter was ok. When our meals came the server from the kitchen didn't know who ordered what! That's not professional. The waiter should have been present to direct her. Otherwise the food was truly exceptional and served quickly. We had a reservation and were taken in on time to a nice table location. I did feel a little rushed but it was 2 days after Christmas and it was busy. We will certainly be back for sure! Have been coming here for 2 yrs.

We go here often and love it. The food is top quality. We have eaten their steak which has been accurately cooked to order. The burgers are very tasty, soups are delicious and we have enjoyed their spinach, artichoke dip and bread. The servers are great, always getting our order right. Positive attitude. The establishment is a classic steak house.

Great old fashioned feel. Good service. I just wish the drinks were better. We are old fashioned drinkers and theirs was mid at best.

I WAS AS FULL AS A TICK ON A HUNTING DOG!!! I just love this place!!! They serve delicious meals in Booty Huge portions!!! (As delicious and huge as office rumors) I ordered the Smoothered Bleu Steak and Salad Bar. I was pretty hungry and kinda flustered from my hunger pains, that I forgot to take photos!!! The server was a delight (I forgot her name). All meals start with a bread basket. The salad bar is large with a great variety of items, including fabulous homemade potato salad, pasta salad and an Asian salad. The potato salad is my absolute favorite! My steak was perfectly cooked and smothered with mushrooms and Bleu Cheese. My meal came with a side,I chose the baked potato with works! Needless to say, I couldn't finish my meal, so I was able to have a second meal with the leftovers!

We celebrated a birthday at Cask n Cleaver. The service, cocktails and food were all top notch!! The whole restaurant was decorated for the holidays and looked so festive! I'd highly recommend!

Me and my girlfriend came out for a nice evening at Cask. We were lucky to get Paris as our server. She was kind friendly and very thoughtful. The food was great the night was awesome. But we will come back because of the wonderful service we received from Paris. Thank you for an awesome experience

Ribeye was cooked to perfection. The seller bar was second to know very friendly waitresses will definitely be returning.

Not as good as it used to be. My filet was well done (asked for medium), potato was hard, my dad's potato was hard as well. Wrong wine was served. I would have sent back but my Dad is against that. For 132.00 do better C&C. Kendall was pleasant.

I don't know why a resturant that has great food and great bread cuts a cornet and can't serve real butter with there great bread. Wax felling on the roof of my mouth WTF?????

I went to Cask 'n Cleaver for an LA Kings watch party. There was a huge group of us as well as one or two other fairly large parties. You'd think the staff would be completely overwhelmed, but I did not ever have any reason to feel that way. The staff was SO on their game! I had the salad bar, which had everything you'd need, was clean, fresh, and well-maintained. Next time, I want to get the steak bites appetizer. They looked and smelled incredible, as did the burgers many people ordered. This is a place I think anyone could go to on a date, for a celebration, or with a large group. Yeah, it may be a bit in the "old" side, but to me, that just adds to the charm.

Service was great. I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and quick. I had the sirloin and it was cooked perfectly. I also had the house salad and broccoli, both were delicious. The prices are very reasonable. They had a small but good draft beer selection of local brews. The cocktails seemed very popular and looked delicious.

Great Steaks & Salad Bar! The Sirloin Steak was amazing and the salad bar was fresh. The service was good and we had an overall great lunch.

Great food, they really have a lot of options on menu. Also they are fast with service, and also asking if you need anything else. Plus it makes for customers to be happy and enjoyable restaurant to be at. Plenty of TV's at the bar area to watch your sport event.

Good steak for the value- came here for Father's Day (first time) and everything came out fast and tastes great. Aidan was remarkable and provided amazing service! Will be returning.

I am a long time patron of this restaurant and I hope it never closes. The food is delicious and the prices are the best around. It is a steakhouse but don't forget to try the berry or apple tart (with ice cream of course). Staff is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is of a local cowboy hangout that is family and big party friendly.

Great late night service. I don't live I the area. We always eat at Steer n Stein and this place was another option. We went and their food was great ambiance was super cool as well.

We celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary here last night. They have the very best salad bar.... Always full and clean. I had that along with a New York strip steak... which was delicious! Two things could have improvement: The cheese sauce on the baked potato was delicious but literally had less than a teaspoon...our table of 6 had to ask for more 2 different times! That's just silly! Plus I really thought they'd acknowledge our anniversary in some way... not a word nor a crumb of dessert! Otherwise everything else was great. Food was served quickly, hot and delicious!

Only one left. Been going to upland and San Dimas when it was opened for years. One of the best salad bars for the price on top of good entrees. Honestly this place has never failed me. Highly recommend

Yes!!! Those fried avocado slices were different yet scrumptious! My rib eye steak was tender and juicy. But the best part was our server, Dan.

Second time there, no tables available chose the bar and was served quickly. I do think the bartender could of used some help, seemed like he was doing the most! Food, ambiance, prices are great! Def will be back

Decent steak and the portions are pretty good. There is a dining section and a bar side which is great if you want to go watch a game. The service was ok.

Always a wonderful dining experience. We went for an early New Year dinner on the 30th. Had a reservation and upon arrival was greeted with a heartfelt welcome. Our server was Jenn C. She was excellent and made herself immediately available to answer questions, take drink orders, and deliver warm bread and butter to the table. The restaurant was all decked out in its festive lights and the feel of a new year approaching. Very nice. We ordered our food, a New York strip with all the extras. A loaded patty melt and a wonderfully seasoned artichoke adorned with melted butter and mayo for dipping. Food arrived hot and every bite was delicious. Thanks to Cask, from the kitchen staff to the floor staff, it was a wonderful experience for the end of 2024. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and see you soon.

Have eaten here twice in the last month, been here traveling from chicago so we eat a lot of steak and this place has the best steaks ever - simple seasoning, grilled to perfection, tender and tasty. Shrimp cocktail awesome and Eddie behind the bar is the best !!!
