Google
I had chicken pilou with spinach and the masala fries and samosa. It was good!! The samosas were crispy on the outside and perfectly flavored throughout. Check them out when you see them.

Hannah N.

Google
I didn't eat at the physical location, but their food truck came to OU's campus. I got the jollof rice with chicken and plantains - they gave me a complimentary samosa too! Everything tasted amazinggg, and the workers were so friendly. The samosa especially had the perfect texture. I can't wait until they come back to OU's campus, and I'm making plans to go to the OKC location soon.

Google
Excellent! We will be back, don't miss out! We had the Chapati chicken and spinach, Also the Suya seasoned beef and grilled plantains.

Google
Firs time trying south African food. I worked close to the building but never know this restaurant replace the other Greek restaurant. I tried pilau chicken and the lady is so friendly gave me samosa to try. It was delicious. Food is good portion too I will definitely go back and try other food too.

Justin W.

Google
Amazing. I got the pilau chicken with spinach. They gave me two free samosas! Delicious, large portions for $12.

Bianca D.

Google
Wow! First time trying and I love the Pilau Chicken!! The somosa and masala fries were good too, but that Pilau Chicken was my favorite for sure. Super friendly service too.

Kim K.

Google
This Kenyan food spot has always been a favorite of our family's! We had the opportunity to give our visiting family the experience and taste of home. Stacy and Brian, the owners, are always so kind and friendly. We absolutely love their chips masala, sausages, samosas, chappo, coconut beans, chicken, beef stew, and more. We are so glad to have a taste of home close by.

Okie 4.

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was amazed by the taste of the food—so unique and full of flavor, nothing like the usual meal. Every bite was delicious, and it quickly turned me into a regular!

Yelp
Over the last few years, my wife has led a few church trips to Kenya. Among other things, she talked about their food and especially their hospitality. Naija Wife Kitchen is Nigerian, but I was nonetheless intrigued. I first ordered the Suya Chicken Wings and they were really good. Of late, I've been ordering the Okra Soup, and it's so good that it's hard for me to order anything else. The first time I added fish and it was great except I hate picking out the bones. The next time I added chicken and it was perfect. It's so, so good.

Yelp
I really enjoyed trying a new type of food. This is my second time trying Nigerian food. I ordered the fries turkey with a boiled egg topped with stew. I was surprised by the strange cut of the turkey, which was a cut I had never had. The cut had a lot of cartilage and bone. The boiled egg was flavorful but I think having it in styrofoam with door dash ended up making overcooked (no fault of Naija Wife. They really make an effort to explain the menu and make the flavors approachable to an American palate, but the flavors are not my favorite. It's just my personal preference, and I think this place would be wonderful for those that like the profile of the spices.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal. Every single thing we had was exceptional quality, can not say enough good things about this place. Husband went nuts over the wings, I loved the plantains. The staff was so kind and helped note dietary restrictions I wasn't even aware of being pregnant (no purple drink for me because it had hibiscus). We seriously can't wait to go back, I already have cravings.
google avatar

Lovette R.

Yelp
First time here. So unique, amazing flavors and helpful service. Ask for the sampler if it's your first time. I loved the okra soup! This place will be one of my go to spots in the fall.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
Got the wings & fish steaks with jollof rice & stewed eggs. Probably the most flavorful food iv ever had. The rice is incredible, wings so crispy & the perfect amount of spice. The flavor of everything is so deep & so yummy! Definitely will be trying more dishes.

Mickan A.

Yelp
Went with a friend to try out some of the food and man was it fantastic. We were in the area a while ago and she gave us free samples of a bunch of their soups and although we just ate that day, we knew we had to come back. She was incredibly kind and gave us free waters because my friend got the spiciest level of heat. Back to the food, I got the wings and eggs which came with jollof rice and we also got some okra soup and fufu. The wings were absolutely phenomenal and cooked to perfection. They were so juicy on the inside and the outside had a nice crisp to them. As shown in the picture, none was behind. It was that good. Kind people, amazing food, and fast service. Not much else to ask for.
google avatar

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
This was directly across from my hotel in the basement of an office building that has a small food court. The owner offered to let me try each of her stews, which were all fabulous! I needed up doing 1/2 okra and 1/2 spinach over rice with a piece of chicken and an egg. i also tried the punch called Zobo, which was also very good. I highly recommend you give it a try!
google avatar

Sea C.

Yelp
Oh my gods this was the most flavorful and amazing food!!! We got the food to go. We tried the Efo Riro and the Banga soups. We ordered it with rice and got the fufu on the side. It was heaven in your mouth!

Yelp
The 2025 James Beard Foundation Semifinalists have been announced, and Oklahoma City is at the forefront of representing Oklahoma in the Best Chef: Southwest category. Among the nominees is Tahnee Francis, whose Nigerian concept, Naija Wife Kitchen, is making waves from its home in the Robinson Renaissance Building food court. Tahnee is a community ambassador, using her platform to celebrate diversity and advocate for inclusivity. In 2022, she was crowned Miss Black Oklahoma International Ambassador, where she became a voice for individuals with disabilities across the state. With glowing reviews and a James Beard nod, expectations are high for Naija Wife Kitchen. Tahnee's success marks an important milestone for Oklahoma's evolving culinary scene, showcasing the state's growing diversity and innovation. Let's eat. Dining Naija Fried platter with suya chicken wings, fish steaks in pepper stew, plantains, stewed egg over Jollof rice. The platter lacked depth of flavor, with each component becoming monotonous after a few bites. The suya chicken wings had a lovely crisp exterior and featured a lightly seasoned flavor profile, highlighting paprika and garlic with a subtle sweetness at the back end. The fried plantains had a soft texture, were underseasoned, and bland. The Jollof rice carried mild notes of paprika and mild spices, but was on the dry side. The tilapia fish steak had an beautifully crispy exterior and a light fish flavor profile. The accompanying red pepper stew on top tasted primarily like cooked pepper, with no real depth or consistency. Peanut Butter Soup, Okra Soup, Efo Riro Soup, Banga Soup, and Egusi Soup The "Friday special" featured a soup sampler, served with "fufu", a starchy ball of kneaded yam used for dipping. The"fufu" has a neutral flavor profile with a soft slightly gummy texture. Each soup was sampled individually and dipped with the fufu. Almost all the soups had a considerable amount of palm oil that pooled at the top, making them unappealing and heavy. The two options are to stir the orange oil back into the soup or drain it slightly. The peanut soup boasts a flavor profile dominated by peanut and chicken, with little variation in between. It had a slightly sweet and salty taste that was pleasant. The texture was thick and gelatinous. The addition of the fufu amplified the chewy, gelatinous texture, but it did help cut through some of the heaviness of the soup. The okra soup features a milder flavor of fresh okra and vegetables. Its texture was rustic and provided a pleasant mouthfeel. While it also had a lot of oil, it worked more harmoniously with the fufu and one of thee highlights of the other soups. The Banga soup had some savory notes, but lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. After a few bites, the flavors became one-dimensional. The Efo Riro soup was refreshing and crisp with notes of spinach, tomatoes, and pepper. Overall, it had a pleasant flavor profile. The Egusi soup offered the greatest contrast in texture among the soups, with its nutty and umami flavor profile. Finally; the goat was fork tender, heavy with oil, and under seasoned. Overall, much like the fried platter, the soups lacked the bold, rich flavor commonly associated with African cuisine. It's not the heat level being critiqued, but the balance, intensity, dynamics, and richness that each dish was missing. Final Thoughts: Tahnee's dedication to her craft and her commitment to bringing something special to Oklahoma are undeniable. She is a true ambassador of West African cuisine. However, passion alone does not always translate into exceptional food. At Naija Wife Kitchen, muted flavors, textural inconsistencies, and uneven preparation were noticeable across multiple dishes. While the spirit of authenticity and warmth is deeply embedded in the dining experience, the execution did not consistently meet the level of excellence expected.

Andi L.

Yelp
TAHNEE OUR SERVER WAS SO NICE!! she gave us a sample of everything to try since we told her it was our first time. we decided getting the banga soup and the efo riro soup paired with the fufu, and it was amazing. we also got the jollof chicken wings and fries, and that was also amazing. If you go, you have to get their hibiscus tea to drink as well!! overall, an amazing place and I would definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Naija Wife Kitchen is one of our favorite places in OKC. The food is consistently excellent. We love the spinach soup (Efo Riro) and Egusi soup with fufu, and the fried fish steak is always a great addition. The plantains, spicy suya chicken wings, and jollof rice are also favorites we can't get enough of. The owner is the nicest lady ever! She's so welcoming and takes the time to educate customers about the dishes. If you're unsure what to order, she'll even offer samples to help you decide, which makes the experience even more special. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and you can tell everything is made with care. If you're looking for delicious food and amazing service, Naija Wife Kitchen is a must-visit.

Yelp
The food here is sooooo good! The people are nice and it all smells so good when you walk up to the counter. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food: tasty, affordable, filling Service: welcoming and thoughtful Ambiance: food hall The food at Naija wife kitchen is tasty. You can even get a sampler plate to try some of the options before committing to one. Fufu is delightful and I recommend it if you've never had fufu its a pleasant carb to consume. Jollof rice is flavorful and filling, I'm happy my partner had this because I had more than a few bites in exchange for some of my fufu. The spinach and beans are both tasty. Nothing is spicy but you can get some spice to sprinkle on. I would prefer an already made spicy option or two but that is preference. Service is very good. Ambiance. Its in an office buildings food hall.
google avatar

Lin M.

Yelp
The food is amazing and the service is tops. I didn't think I would like the zobo, because I don't normally like hibiscus, but this was very different from hibiscus tea. It took a lot of willpower to not just chug it. I'll be going back often.
google avatar

Emilia S.

Yelp
I enjoyed trying Nigerian food here. The food is good. We took it to go and the service was fast. I like that they bring it to your car. I liked my peanut butter soup, it was very rich and the fufu helped balance that. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the egusi because it had a lot of oil in it. But the flavors were still good. I would definitely try more things here!
google avatar

Yelp
I have nothing but amazing things to say about my favorite lunch spot in OKC!! Naija Wife Kitchen is located in the building across from The National on Robinson Ave. Parking is a little tricky, especially during lunch hours, but the food is WORTH the hassle, trust me. There is plenty of seating in a shared space on the bottom floor and the food is displayed in a buffet like style, but the staff will serve you and also upon request, add on spiciness to the food. My favorite dish by far is the peanut butter soup. There are chicken pieces in this stew and I love to eat this with fufu (pounded yam). This dish also has a vegan option - you can order it without the chicken! Tahnee and her staff are so friendly and warm. They explain the dishes if you are new and also will give you a sample of everything to try out before you decide on what to order. I want to mention that Naija Wife Kitchen has an excellent social media manager and they are constantly posting on Facebook and Instagram - educating followers about the food they serve, Nigerian and African culture, and updating customers on dishes and giveaways. I have never tried African food before I came here, and I was thoroughly satisfied. The flavors and spices are very similar to those of Indian cuisine, which I am used to. I also get nostalgic and feel so comfortable eating the fufu with my hand and dipping it in the stews just as I do with Indian chapatis in curry. The African stews are very reminiscent of Indian curries and it truly shows how are food/culture is more similar in ways than none. Please try NWK - you will NOT be disappointed!!

Yelp
I don't normally leave reviews but this place was INCREDIBLE. The food was delicious, the people were so warm and friendly, and I can't wait to go back. Everything we got was delicious but the chicken wings were sooo flavorful and crispy and cooked to perfection. If you are in OKC this spot is a must-do.

Yelp
This was so flavorful. The owner was so nice and helpful. The staff was also extremely nice! You just have to give it a try!

Yelp
This place serves amazing food, I highly recommend stopping by for a quick meal in the cafeteria. I wasn't sure which option I didn't to order so they allowed me to test each type. Such a great experience!

Melika C.

Yelp
Friendly service! The cuisine is amazing and you receive free samples(nice portions). I love it

Matt C.

Yelp
Really good! In a food court downtown, this place has delicious Nigerian food! For my money, this is the THE place to get Nigerian/West African food in OKC! Excellent service as well, very friendly!

Kirsty P.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in OKC.My husband and I have never had a bad meal here. Everything she makes is so wonderful. The owner is always so friendly and kind! She will answer any questions you have about the food. My favorite dishes include the okra soup and the spinach soup with the fufu. My husband loves the Jollof wings. Also try the zobo drink too! It's so refreshing!

Adam B.

Yelp
Absolutely a must stop for all types of flavor profiles. The owner couldn't be more accommodating, the food amazingly authentic and delicious, the flavors magnificent, the Zobo (juice) refreshing. I will be back again and again. Thank you for transporting me back to Nigeria!!

Joanna H.

Yelp
The food has tons of flavors! We loved the eggplant stew and spicy wings. Had it delivered twice and was still very good!
google avatar

Alena B.

Yelp
I loooooooove this place. Hard to find as an out of towner but I was determined! The owner is such a pleasant and kind woman. Top of the line service. I got a little sample from her but I already had a good feeling about the food! I am vegan but love supporting local Black & African owned businesses, especially women. I ordered the vegan fried beans with jollof rice and had to get me some fufu to make my entree complete. You have the option to get plantains instead of rice. I should've gotten all of it but didn't want to be greedy. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR AMAZING FOOD! Much success to you and I will be back, with more friends next time!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I want to express my sincere apologies that Yelp has allowed this individual JC make sure to look at photos belowto leave a negative review about you as well. This person had no prior reviews and suddenly posted a bad review about me, despite never having engaged in business with me. I suspect this is someone I know personally who is intentionally trying to sabotage me, and unfortunately, you've been caught in the crossfire. I urge you to report this review to Yelp, as she has copied the same content in both of our reviews. I will attach a photo for your reference. This individual has changed their profile name and photo three times within just an hour. I've reported this to Yelp multiple times, but the review remains. I'll also include what she wrote in my review. Please understand that this is not a legitimate review of your company; it's an act of sabotage by someone with ulterior motives. If you see a negative review, know that it is just the work of a person who is deliberately trying to harm our reputations for no valid reason.

Yelp
My wife has been wanting to try some African dishes and when we were headed to OKC she found y'all with nothing but amazing reviews!!! And they did not lie! I've traveled to Africa and had been stationed out there and let me tell you how much your food and the taste reminded me of the tribal food I had when I was there!! The fufu was on point, we got your Fired Tilapia Platter, the Veggie Curry, and The Peanut Chicken & Rice Bowl w/ some Fufu!!! And it did not disappoint my wife's curiosity and craving for new food she's never tried before!! And with the hospitality and the amazing price you gave us at the end even after ordering all the food made my wife want to just turn back around and wanted to cry, hug you, and tell you that we WILL be back again and try the other DISHES y'all make!! So, if your downtown in OKC and want to try some good home cooked Nigerian food head on over to this kitchen!!! Hospitable owners and amazing home cooked food that will give your taste buds a run for your money and it's worth the wait and pay!! I wished I took photos to post but I dug in before I even sat down to eat!! And expect to eat with your hands bc you won't wait to ask for some utensils!!
google avatar

Andono M.

Yelp
The food is full of Flavor and absolutely amazing! The owner was so sweet and authentic. Offered a sample platter of each soup for tasting which is beyond kind. All the soups were so amazing and unique. Customer for life! Stop here if you want a burst of flavor and try something different.

Lady B.

Yelp
UPDATE TO OWNER'S REPLY I did not call it a Stephine Special. I don't even order that all the time. Please don't fabricate the story to deflect from the concerns at hand. YOU are the one that started offering it to me. The point is, I specifically asked you were you still offering it and you said yes. That's the point! Don't say yes, then give me something I didn't order. As I stated, I would have paid for what I wanted. You gave me something I didn't order. Also, about me messaging your personal number. I've only done that once this year! In the past, maybe twice and you didn't have a problem with it. The time I did it this year, in person you asked me not to. I didn't after that! Sadly, you have turned into a disgruntled, overwhelmed business owner. Why was it so hard to say I don't offer that anymore. I only honor the daily specials, instead of uncaringly handling the situation as you did? Don't take it out on customers. You don't smile, say hi. Thanks for coming. Nothing. I will conclude and reiterate, had you told me that you were not offering that anymore, I would have paid for the correct order! I order the soups and stews, anything else at full price. You're the one that started offering me that, so you should have let me know it's not available anymore when I asked! Instead of agreeing then giving me something I didn't ask for and walking to the kitchen without making amends! I've been a loyal customer of Tahnee's for years, even supporting her when she first started at the market. In the past, she offered me a special deal as a regular customer, and I've always appreciated that. Recently, I ordered the same special again, and she confirmed it would be fine. However, when my order arrived, it was wrong. I politely mentioned I thought I was getting the special, and she dryly responded that she had added an extra wing to compensate for me overpaying due to thinking I was getting something different. She then proceeded to rudely tell me the prices of a meal I did not order. I explained that if I knew the special wasn't available anymore, I would have happily paid the difference. She didn't respond and just went back to the kitchen without addressing my concerns. I was really disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service. If the special is no longer being offered, I would've gladly paid the full price, but the way it was handled left me feeling like she just doesn't care anymore. Sadly, I won't be returning after years of being a customer. It's a shame to see such a decline in both the service and attitude.

Zoraya T.

Yelp
They were amazing. I never had a place offer me a sample of everything. They were so nice and accommodating. I was honestly shocked because around us were empty but I did love looking at their decorations. It felt like talking with family.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been going to Naija Wife Kitchen since she was at her former downtown location and the quality remains amazing! The food is consistently good and flavorful. Tahnee is so sweet and has such a welcoming energy. She will allow you to sample the available stews/soups to see what works best for you. They're all delicious but the Peanut Butter Soup and Efo Riro (spinach soup). The fufu is amazing with the soups, but I've gotten the jollof as well and it was good! The Zobo is strong but flavorful, it's like a natural fruit punch. Every chance I get to give the Naija wife my business, I do. I have such an appreciation for Nigerian food and am happy to see have such an amazing place to get it from!
google avatar

Hannah J.

Yelp
I couldn't get enough! For a first time attempt with Nigerian food, this was an exquisite experience. I grew up with grandparents with bland taster and had a fear of spice but, that was avoided with the option of adding spice to the dish. The meal was so good I plan to be back for fall/winter months. I had the number one seller "banga soup" and fufu. My toddler loved the fufu. The owner was so nice creating a sample plate for us to try and decide. The atmosphere was one to enjoy located in downtown. It would be a great visit for anyone looking to try something new or have a hearty dinner.

Yelp
No way to give zero stars, so here goes: This restaurant discriminates against people with disabilities. There is zero signage you can read on the street. I called to learn that the address listed for the business is for a coffee joint. This place is in the basement below it. Is this information on the website? No. When/If you find parking, you are paying. Is this on the website? No. If you are with someone with mobility issues you are screwed. You can't walk in, and rolling in in the current heat quickly turns to heat stroke; which is almost instant for people with breathing issues in this humidity. It's a stinking food court with the standard trappings. Don't bother. Go somewhere good. The cost of parking alone makes these prices ridiculous.
google avatar

Paola V.

Yelp
Great service and great food. Generous portions and everything was fresh. Get the zobo to drink. It's amazing!
google avatar

Jandi F.

Yelp
First of all, the owner/chef is so warm and lovely! She let me try all of the stews and pick my favorites. I chose half peanut butter stew and half banga stew. The food was so flavorful and really delicious! This will be a new staple in my roster of restaurants! I can't wait to bring my friends!

Madelynn K.

Yelp
Man I'm not a karen.. my man and I love this Nigerian restaurant in the city, Naija Wife Kitchen , I mean we've spent loads here. It's a small business and we love to support them, we wanted to take a couple of our friends to try, we all even took off work to go, I checked apples posted hours and googles and check the social media profiles, nothing out of the ordinary, they were open, long story short we get there (30 mins) away and there's nobody there. Not even a message written on the chalkboard. I saw her post today on instagram and commented, "hey girl where are your hours posted? We brought some friends to try and no one was there" she then replies with "google. I was out with my spinal condition, I'm human and have a family. Facebook and google stay updated" I wouldn't have been too annoyed at this response had she not RESTRICTED me from commenting after that. As a business owner that's so unprofessional and immature, and then 10 minutes later I'm blocked. Watch who yall support.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Full disclosure, I am not a connoisseur of African food by any means, but if this is used as the baseline, I am a fan! The location is in a semi-food court setting in the Renaissance Building downtown. You will enter upstairs and then walk down to the lower level. I probably wouldn't have known it was there if not for the Yelp event that drew us in. The setup is a walk-up to order counter where things are available in warming trays. I also ordered the wings that were prepared fresh. The person behind the counter was super friendly and explained what everything was with an excited patience and you could tell she was passionate about the food. We were provided a few samples before ordering our meal. Everything was good but I opted for the egusi soup, peanut butter soup and banga soup served over jollof rice and asked for an extra kick of spice. The spice mix is a proprietary blend of (7) African peppers and has a wonderful bite of flavor that was definitely tamed by the peanut butter soup. The meal also came with a fufu roll which can be best described as a hybrid of bread dough and mashed potatoes and is a bit heavy for me. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and recommend it!
google avatar

Morgan H.

Yelp
Finally got to try Naija Wife. It was delicious. They let us sample all the stews which was super kind and helpful. It was a beautiful and delicious experience. Good place to go with friends. The desserts rotate but you have to try whatever one they have that day. Everything's made fresh daily.
google avatar

Jakoby L.

Yelp
If you are curious about trying new food and want an amazing experience then this is the place for you! Tahnee the owner is an absolute angel, and she works so so hard to create amazing food and make you feel emerged into the culture with the food you are eating and trying! Make sure you check it out and try the peanut butter soup! The restaurant is in the lower food court and is quite the quaint little quiet place to enjoy some amazing food!
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
The food was EXCELLENT! I'll admit the location downtown and difficulty getting a parking space had me reconsidering my decisions but the taste of the food made my day! I haven't had food this good, with a full bodied taste in a very long time! I had the jollof rice, wings, and fish with stewed egg. You can tell she really took her time to develop the taste throughout the recipes. I can't say enough good things! I'll definitely be back and I pray this place stays open!

Monica W.

Yelp
1st time here and will be back this food very delicious, the service is very professional and patient, and restaurant is very clean ....cant wait to come back. 1st time trying fu fu and OMG
google avatar

Jonis P.

Yelp
The food and the service was great. I've been wanting to try Naija Wife Kitchen since I relocated, and it did not disappoint. I ordered the egusi soup over jollof with stew and a boiled egg; my daughter the gizzard stew with jollof and fufu. Both she and I love heat, so we got our dishes extra spicy. Will go again!
google avatar

Tyler R.

Yelp
True authentic Nigerian culture food. Lots of amazing variety of choices. If you're unsure what to get they allow you to enjoy a sample of the foods so you can order what you love. Top quality service and extremely delicious foods. Top notch quality service from the owner and workers. Strongly recommend this business.
google avatar

Dustin P.

Yelp
First off, it's located temporarily in the agriculture building. She's moving to the Robinson Renaissance though! The food is unique and delicious. One of only two places in Oklahoma you can get fufu. She's the sweetest person you've ever met and will let you try every stew and soup! Go, just go.
google avatar

Kaelyn W.

Yelp
AMAZING! I've been following for a while but trying for the first time. They gave me a sampler plate and I got half and half of my two favorites. Great service and excellent flavors. Thank you!

Yelp
The pepper stew with chicken served up here is as authentic and tasty as they come. Tender, well steamed yam fufu -- a MUST with any good meal from most of the west African cuisines. I want to return to try the oha, the efo riro, the egusi (always a fave) and the jollof rice. Hubby really enjoyed his egusi (i.e., melon seed soup with chicken). Ask for a sampler plate if you're curious about but unfamiliar with Nigerian food.

Yelp
First time trying Naija Wife Kitchen it was so good! The staff were super friendly and the food was seasoned to perfection. I did have a hard time finding it, but after going once, it will be easy to get to it next time. Also tried the hibiscus drink, perfect for the hot weather we are having. Will be back next time we are in town. 10 out of 10

Yelp
I got the peanut soup with fufu, and the wings with rice. Both were delicious. The starchy goodness of the fufu pairs perfectly with the soup. And oh my, the dry rub wings... I can't say enough. They were finger licking, suck every last morsel off the bone, outstanding. Make sure you ask for the house spice blend. Just enough heat and sooo much flavor.
