"Beer Bar was a welcome addition to our city in 2013 as a perfect companion to its neighbor Bar X. Together they offer quality cocktails on the classic Bar X side and the lively, but laid-back atmosphere of Beer Bar where you can pull up to a picnic table and partake in an game of Jenga. Choose from a seemingly endless selection of quality beer that compliments their traditional beer garden style food menu." - Chase Carpenter Design

"Co-owned by Ty Burrell of Modern Family fame, Beer Bar and Bar X are a joint business connected by a narrow hallway in the back. Bar X was originally opened in 1933 (the year Prohibition was repealed), but came into its current iteration as a craft cocktail bar when it was purchased and refurbished in 2010 by Burrell and team. Its sister business, Beer Bar, feels reminiscent of a German beer garden, with big-screen TVs and long communal tables, the perfect setting to enjoy brews from a lineup of local, craft breweries. All of the draft beer complies with state law, which keeps them at or under 5 percent ABV, but options in their bottled selection can far exceed that. Under the oversight of executive chef Brendan Kawakami, the simple menu includes bratwursts, locally sourced bison and elk, Belgian-style fries, and a specially curated Reuben brat from chef Viet Pham of Pretty Bird. The bar also hosts an annual pie and beer day — a phonetic riff on the Mormon state holiday Pioneer Day on July 24." - Sarah Entwistle

"Salt Lake City design studios — Anchor & Alpine, Coel Studio, Hot Slice Design, Adobe SLC, Infinite Scale, and Ian Dalton — have banded together to design and create merch for local restaurants and bars. They are donating 100% of the earnings to #TipYourServer, an initiative created by the Downtown Salt Lake City Alliance that is helping thousands of hospitality workers who lost their jobs due to coronavirus and the earthquake that hit Utah on March 18. We had a great time at this place! They serve food and drinks until 1am and you can stay until 2am. The staff were supper nice and kind. It’s my fav late night spot. Thank you!

Cool "beer bar" with a large selection of draft (all 5% or less) and bottles/cans (higher gravity.)
Plenty of sports on big screens. Didn't eat, but they offer a variety of sandwiches. Gets busy at times.

Came here for a quick bite and drink before heading to the airport for our flight out. Got the breakfast sandwich on brioche bun (they were out of bagels) and he got the Ruben Brat. Both were excellent and the drink selection was great, especially for someone who enjoys sour beers. Very chill vibe.

Fantastic options, so many beers on their menu it was difficult to decide. The new outside area is amazing! Swing seating, and misters in the back. Great bar!

Had a really great time! They have a fantastic selection of beer as one would expect, but the food is really good too! Jameson makes a great burger, would highly recommend. I got the Bahn mi brat and it was just the right level of spice.

Saltiest fries I’ve ever had! The cotton burger had enough garlic on it to scare a vampire. Worst part is I got overcharged. I payed cash and could not dispute. 15+6 is 21 for fries and burger guy charged me 28. They have two table sitting empty while 30+ people are standing for the big game. Have had fun here in the past great place to watch a game just pay attention they like to overcharge

Visiting from Massachusetts and had to check this place out because of the variety of craft beers on the menu. Had two different beers and a brat. Excellent selection of beers. Food was delicious. Vibes were great! Definitely a must visit spot for beer lovers.

Bar is fine. The bouncer tonight on Friday January 16, however, was completely out of line. Fellow was chest to chest with someone trying to start a fight, clearly the aggressor himself. Management had better get a handle on things…
