Smokin Fins - Arvada

Absolutely fantastic!! We ate here with a group of 8 on a reservation. When we arrived, our table and server were ready for us! Our server was really wonderful and the food was just excellent. So were the drinks and cocktails!! I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone!

So happy we came here, the flavors are just so fresh and delicious! Nothing's lacking in taste and the fish was cooked so tender, 100% recommend that Mahi Mahi, I wish I could take home all that rice. Will come again.

Delicious brunch — was pleasantly surprised at how great this place is for a vegetarian. I got the Vampire Tacos without the bacon which were incredible.

If you like Everything to have heat not necessarily flavor, this is your place everything that we ordered even when we said to not put anything hot on one of the items it still had it overly spicy the oysters were also barely any substance to it at all and at three dollars each it should’ve been a better oyster for sure. Service was lacking for periods of time and then very good then lacking again where you don’t see anybody. It was overall a bit loud, but still you could carry on a conversation, but I do think it is overpriced for what was served.

Amazing Food, Amazing Craft Cocktails, Amazingly attentive waitstaff every visit we’ve had. I highly recommend Smokin Fins! The Lobster Mac and Cheese is well worth the price and the Wagyu Beef Hamburger is top notch. The Poke bowl is also quite good! I’ve visited 3 times and have not been disappointed.

Awesome spot! Great happy hour, fun atmosphere, super friendly staff, and amazing well portioned food. The Mahi Mahi was as good as anything I’ve had on the coast. Staff called me by name. Recommendations were thoughtful and spot on. Atmosphere is very industrial/mining/old Colorado. Parking was easy. Highly recommend all around!

Decent food, good service, pleasant ambiance. Prices were pretty good, and the dishes were diverse enough to accommodate a group of 8 with no problem. We had an early dinner after a matinee show at the nearby Arvada Center, and it made for a great pick to eat at. Will probably be back again.

The Lobster app is amazing and the rest of the menu is good too. Our server must have had a bad day - but the manager made up for it with better service.

Smokin Fin is a lovely large winding restaurant, with equally beautiful outdoor patio, which also wraps around with Elegant RED umbrellas. The bar is L shaped, service is fast, and I was fortunate to experience Smokin Fin when not too bustling busy. Service is more than GREAT, thank you personally to Chantal, affectionately named Shay; very attentive to questions with full explanations. Equally ample are the food menus, bar options and seating. They have space for private parties, possibly up to 80 some, which would include the back patio. Beautiful touch! Nestled in Old Town Arvada, today was a great day finding a parking spot, FREE which was Awesome. I ordered the Crab/Lobster fried Avocado with all the "hot" sauces on the side with deliberate intention. Crab and Lobster are delicate seafood meats and did not wish to taint their sweet qualities, thereby, requesting all three sauces to be placed on the side (delicious in their own spicy rights given they are rather spicy); which for myself would have altered the delicate taste of the crab and lobster. Honestly, the flavors stand alone in delicious unique fare, (this is a personal choice not smothering the intricate fair). The avocado was ripped to perfection! Along with a elegantly thin CRISPED to PERFECTION coating, frying avocado while still standing firm and very flavorful; this is an ART, achieved only by an adroit chef!! Being from Europe and the North East, I asked and was granted a taste of their New England Clam chowder; texture was delightfully smooth with a tasty crouton and bacon; Aspen enjoyed the bacon! Not quite New England style, yet darn good for Coloradian fare. Ice tea was made special after Shay, she offered her special "Honey Shake Ice Tea! I was not disappointed, rather enjoying the refreshing quality and marveled over Shay's talent and sincere offering. Exceptional Service!! Smokin Fin is a great family - friends meeting up or special party Restaurant. They have a well rounded menus to meet many palates. The beautiful surroundings are personal yet comfortably lovely to enjoy extended menu items and I highly suggest sharing with friends and family. The outside patio is beyond charming and beckoning, enjoy a FALL Sunny Day with fabulous food. I must state, Smokin Fins does add a superior service making our time "very personal" adding their knowledge to individualize each customers experience

Brought my family for dinner last night and we had a great experience. Since we live close to Olde Town, we've walked by a bunch and always figured we dine in eventually. Well last night was "eventually" and we all walked out full and content! The restaurant is incredibly spacious (something we look for now having a little one). They allowed us to have our stroller next to the table which was kind of them. From the service side, we couldn't have asked for better. Rose was informative, patient, and knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations including her personal favorites vs. customer favorites. Kudos! The menu also has quite a wide range of items. From sushi rolls, starters, tacos, sandwiches and entrées, I'd be shocked if there wasn't something for everybody here. Here's what I tried: Brussels & Cauliflower ($15) // Flash-fried with bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, balsamic glaze, and grilled lemon. Though an overplayed dish in this day in age, this was very tasty I will admit. The dipping sauce was a home run. The bacon and bleu cheese we found on the bottom of the dish after we ate the veggies. Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice ($16) // Crispy rice medallions topped with sliced avocado, spicy tuna, sliced Fresno peppers, sweet soy sauce, ponzu sauce, micro cilantro, and sesame seeds. It's difficult for me not to order this dish when I see it on a menu. It definitely lived up to the "crispy" element. The flavors were balanced and bursting with umami. My favorite bite of the night hands down! Sesame Crusted Ahi ($28) // Seared, Sesame-Crusted Ahi, sauteed spinach, red pepper, carrots, mushrooms, ginger, cabbage and edamame, on a fried rice puff with cucumber-red pepper relish. I liked my entrée the least out of my table. I love the idea of this dish, it just severely lacked seasoning. Especially on the vegetables. The tuna satisfied the craving, but overall left more to the imagination. I would order something else next time. Overall we had a nice time. We weren't rushed, the staff was attentive, and the food was flavorful. I also found the prices to be appropriate. I don't like that they don't put their pricing on their website, but like I said, it seemed fair for the quality of food. Give Smokin Fins a try in Olde Town!

My husband enjoyed the fish and chips, I had the seafood platter. We both started with a cup of chowder. The coconut shrimp was delicious, as well as the fried shrimp. The apple coleslaw was so refreshing. But the star was the homemade cocktail sauce!! Best we have ever had. Andrew was our server and he was amazing! So friendly and he had such a great sense of humor! He was attentive throughout the meal. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. Modern and well decorated. We really enjoyed our visit.

Came here on an evening for a girls night out. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious and the drinks were great. I came back with my kids and they really enjoyed their food. I really enjoyed the Lobster fried Avocado, I ordered it both times (highly recommend!). Would definitely come back!

The great food and wine hit the spot on a mid-week evening. This place is a where old world meets industrial decor. Lots of original wood and brick with some modern pipe work on the interior. The outdoor space was open yet intimate. Set on a street side with little traffic. Indy rock playing overhead made a nice setting for a great date night evening out. Wednesday was half off wine bottles. Pairing a nice Argentinian Malbec with some mango shrimp tacos and the fins platter made for a great experience. We subbed the cilantro lime rice for sushi rice... that was the move for sure. Very chill spot with no rush. Try it out.

I have been wanting to try this place for several years and was simply never in Old Town Arvada. The craft fair put me right at the front door just as lunchtime was rolling up. Very fortuitous. We walked in were surprised how large the building was. It simply doesn't look that large from the outside. I was expecting a Red Lobster kind of place but it's much nicer. The decor is very inviting and pleasant. The menu choices are incredible and their bar area is really nice. I'll definitely return for dinner and have some wine and fresh oysters as well. I ordered the fish and chips with extra tartar sauce and they were delicious. The fish was crispy and light while not being greasy. The fries were perfect and the tartar sauce was one of the better tartar sauces I've ever had. My friend had the blackened mahi tacos and he really enjoyed them. The only thaw on the lunch wax the service was slow and we rarely saw her. It took fifteen minutes to even place our order. There were three fish type tacos on the menu and my friend asked for one of each instead of three of one kind. Sort of like a taco sampler and our server declined that request. The tacos he ordered were fabulous and quite tasty. Service was the only reason this is not a five star rating.

Everything was ok except the waiter disappeared for a very long time. Someone in our party asked for separate checks and when some of us asked to actually pay together, the waiter audibly huffed at us. ​

The food was great! Loved their brunch menu and the variety both menus had! The server was very attentive and kind. I had a bottle of coconut water that was warm and he offered to put it in ice and brought it back out in a to go cup too! It was very kind of them! The restaurant itself is cute and clean! I enjoyed the environment and will be back

Came in with some girlfriend and had an amazing linguine and clam sauce that was out of this world! I appreciate that they can make most of their drinks into mocktails and were very helpful with my friends gluten allergy. This has long been a favorite in the Olde Town neighborhood, but I will say it's not a fan favorite for my kids. Definitely an adult spot.

Had a hankering for some clam chowder and wasn't disappointed. Had some oysters and sushi as well. It to mention all you can eat crab legs. I think this is the best seafood spot in old Arvada. Quiet and comfortable with modern lighting John L was the best made us feel right at home. We weren't rushed or forgotten by our server we actually had a nice conversation when it wasn't busy.

We, 7 of us went for a birthday dinner. It was lovely. Ordered sushi, Ahi tuna meal, prime rib French dip, Cheeseburger meal, Poke bowl, calamari appetizer, roasted Brussel sprouts appetizer, house specialty drinks and others. Had 5 adults & 2 children. Our waiter was Blaine and I couldn't have asked for better service. Not noisy, so we were actually able to converse with the family. One of the nicest evenings out.

I love this place! Jacob is by far the kindest bartender, he truly goes above and beyond to provide a nice experience when we come in for dinner. He's so friendly and the food is so amazing, it is a regular spot for us to dine.

This is one of my favorite places to visit for lunch or dinner. The bar staff is always friendly and the Oysters are always a must when I visit. They recently started doing a seasonal cocktail menu here in Olde Town Arvada and it is one of the best additions they've had. It's a personal intimate touch that was added for each of the bartenders to be excited about something they came up with, and excited to tell you about it and sell it to you. They're all unique and tell a different story depending on who created it; and they are all on point and unique which I think the customers love this personal touch from their favorite bartenders.

We ordered poke bowls from here for takeout, thinking that a legit seafood restaurant would have high quality bowls. I'd unfortunately say this is the worst poke bowl I've ever had, for a very premium price. They used some sort of cream on the whole thing which gave the rice and fish this gross texture. Additionally it is filled with lettuce / spinach? My wife also found pumpkin seeds a very strange addition. This was hard to finish for us.

One of my favorite fun places to have happy hour or a nice dinner out. Jacob and Blane are always so welcoming each and every time! The service at Smokin Fins is amazing and the food is so delicious! I love the atmosphere and feel super comfortable even going by myself. The calamari, cedar plank salmon and shaved prime sandwich are my personal favorites!

An absolute must and treasure is the Chilean sea bass dish! Do not even think about not getting it- it's the star of the whole menu! So soft and buttery with a perfectly crispy edge so much umami. Bathed in such soft delicate mashed potatoes and beets and Brussels- so so good! Every bite was unreal- and the serving size was incredible I was able to share some with two other people and still barely finish. Scraped my dish clean! I did not like the dragon roll. Partially my issue was I didn't read the menu properly and typically a dragon roll has eel, but this one obviously didn't. The shrimp was too chewy and it just wasn't my favorite combo of ingredients. Rice tasted stale. I gave someone else my roll to finish. Overall, I would definitely come back for the Chilean sea bass! It was the highlight bite/ dish of my entire Denver trip! Still dreaming of it.

We stopped in for Saturday brunch on the patio and Shay our server was AMAZING! She went above and beyond in multiple ways, she so sweet and so on top of it even though she was busy, we were very impressed! I had THE BEST fench toast ive ever eaten and while the patio was lovely and ahaded when we arrived, the manager was very accommodating giving us an umbrella to sit under when the sun moved within 2 minutes of when we asked. One of the best brunches I've had in a long time! Will definitely be back!

Lobster tots are a must have. Lived up the street for years and this has always been my favorite in the neighborhood.

Our favorite date night! Amazing food and great service. We love the patio which is perfectly nestled in olde town Arvada overlooking the water tower.

Came here to meet a friend for dinner on a Monday evening at 4:30 pm. It was perfect for timing. We did make reservations since it was right around the holiday just to be safe. I got there and waited just a little bit and was taken back to a table. I have never been towards the back and also just my second time here. Wow, the back is really nice. It gives off a classy or romantic feel. My friend arrives and we were just in time to get food from the HH menu or the regular menu. We both opted to go off the HH menu so we can opt to have more than one thing and share. We ordered the poke bowl, tuna and California rolls, and the blackened mahi tacos. He had the poke bowl and really enjoyed it. We both shared the sushi rolls. Both rolls were delightful. I had the mahi tacos. Very delicious. All the orders are half order sizes from the HH menu. Our waiter Chris was awesome, friendly, and attentive. Our dinner was great! Definitely will come back again.

Back again for a second visit in December 2023 I was treated to a birthday lunch. This visit I ordered Salmon after we had Lobster tots and the Kickin Shrimp. The service was stellar. This time we were seated at a two top in the back f the restaurant near a window. Overall a very good experience. Fast forward to 2024, I am back again. No cocktails this time but we did order the Brussels and cauliflower. I also decided to try the Finns Platter!! Good and typical of a fried platter. The cod is very good and the shrimp batter was less crunchy than I prefer; perhaps need 30 seconds more. The apple slaw was good but needed seasoning. My guests had cl chowder, the fish platter and a salad. They too were satisfied. The server we had before served is again and he was great! I now have my favorites and plan to return soon!

This was our 2nd time trying this restaurant. From the options around, if you like seafood, this is a solid choice. We have liked it both times. All 4 of us got different dishes and everything was tasty. Both times there was one dish that was off, and the service was slow (even though they really tried but were very busy). So overall, I definitely rec this restaurant.

Came to eat a late lunch and was happily surprised with an impressive happy hour menu. All of the food we have was delicious and a great value: oysters, sushi rolls, shrimp cobb salad. Service was great and we didn't feel rushed at any point while dining in. Looking forward to returning soon.

We left feeling like we ordered/chose wrong! Ambience was good, starter (lobster tots) was good which set the expectations for the next course. Unfortunately the lobster mac was very underwhelming. It was very dry and lacked flavor, no cheese taste and sauce very clumpy once the dish cooled. Wife ordered the Fins platter and it was "mid" at best. The tastiest portion of the platter was the coleslaw. If in arvada again we'll come back and try other dishes, the tables next to us had fish plates and they looked delicious. Maybe next time!

Had a great brunch. Sat at the outdoor patio (back side of bldg) which was very quiet. Our server was excellent. Lobster Benedict and Breakfast Sandwich were delicious. Bloody Mary price on the high side.

I absolutely love the Happy Hour at Smokin Fins! On every visit, the staff has consistently delivered outstanding service, and I've always been treated to delectable, high-quality food at a very reasonable cost. Happy Hour Recommendations: Vegas & Dragon Sushi Rolls (Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off), Kickin' Shrimp, Oyster (Always fresh & delicious), and Shrimp Avocado Crisp. Regular Menu Recommendations: Fish & Chips and get a side of Mac & Cheese!

Don't necessarily go here for quality sushi (it's not their specialty), but go here for a very eclectic array of food, great ambiance, stellar service and plenty of parking! I truly enjoyed my experience here and will be back!

I emailed smokin fins with the information that they requested. They never responded. No surprise there.

Smokin Fins is quickly becoming my girlfriends and my go to meet up spot for brunch, dinner, and happy hour! We have tried many things on the menu and everything is always yummy. The atmosphere is great and the service very friendly. Highly recommend Smokin Fins!

went there this evening to celebrate my birthday, Sarah was our waitress and she was just delightful! We tried sampling a lot of different things by ordering appetizers and a couple main dish menu items, all were delicious. We were there during happy hour so pricing was very good too!

Service was fine. Ambiance pleasant. The lobster stuffed avocado starter was wonderful as well as the fish and chips. Lots of items to choose from on menu. Warning: Avoid the Prime rib sliders! They were disgustingly full of slimy fat. Gag worthy.

I would say this dining experience was great for what it was, but compared to other seafood restaurants was just "good". The cocktails were delicious, and our waiter was amazing. My favorite thing that we got the dessert, a caramel brownie with ice cream. Everything tasted good, I liked the calamari and my salmon a lot-- but I think if someone were to ask me for a seafood recommendation, I would probably not pick this one first. However, if it's convenient to you-- it's a great option.

Sat in the bar and the bartender who waited on us was awesome. The scratch chowder was delicious as always as were the kickin shrimp . We split the blackened Mahi Mahi tacos that were soooo good . Throw in their house lager and you get 5 stars across the board

Cute little spot down in Olde Town Arvada. Servers are really friendly and the food is tasty. Started off with the lobster tater tots - they were good but I was expected more than 5 tots. The lemon caper mahi mani was incredible. The fish was tender and a very big chunk of fish. The rice was covered in a super creamy sauce. Overall it was so delicious. It could have used some more vegetables but still super good. The blueberry crumble is not to be passed up. It's this giant muffin like desert where they pour melted ice cream on top. It's so gooey and delicious. Pro tip: get a side of ice cream too - goes perfect with the dessert!

Wow. Stopped here on a business trip. Short walk from the hotel. The place is really cool; modern industrial look with an amazing menu. I really don't know where to start! I don't know why, but if you find yourself outside Denver and want to hang out in an amazingly cool area with beautiful shops and cocktail bars, this area is worth the Uber trip! And, Fins is worth double! The Diablo sushi is perfect and the potstickers made for a great pairing. Started that off with a perfectly prepared Negroni aperitif and I'm in heaven. There should be a 6th star for this gem!

I wasn't a fan of the cocktail here but my noodles were DELICIOUS. It's definitely one of those dishes where you'd make a noise or comment every other bite because it's ridiculously tasty. Would come back just for that dish. I forgot to take a picture of the spicy tuna roll but that was pretty tasty too. Would come back again in the future to try other dishes!

Great patio, great service, great selection and the food is all fantastic. My fav is the lemon caper mahi mahi, but the prime rib , tacos, fisherman's platter are all great! So is the Lobster Mac. Ask for Michelle or John!

Service and food were excellent, John was great and checked with us multiple times. We've been often and will continue to come back

It was our first time here and I have to say, I think the cost of the dinner menu was a bit high. For example I think the California roll was $14...? That's the price of specialty rolls at most restaurants. Regardless, I had the sunset salad which was very good. They did forget the goat cheese but brought it out straight away. The tuna tower was also good and recommend if sharing with 2-4 people. I had it as my entree and ate only half. The husbeast had the prime rib special and added snow crab cluster to his dinner. He enjoyed it. I would like to see a fish special too. Maybe do them but we got the meat special day! Looking forward to trying it again.

This place was amazing. Great food, great ambiance and great service. We were a bit skeptical with some of the bad reviews, but decided to roll the dice on our own and we were pleasantly surprised! Hope you all have a good a time as we did!

I had the crispy chicken with mashers and mac&cheese. The chicken was cooked nicely (tender and juicy) albeit was a bit salty. Can't go wrong with mac&cheese. It was very good. Mashers were good also although got cold quickly because we were eating outside. Also had a cup of clam chowder. It was also good. The other dish was fish & chips. Fish was respectable. Cole slaw was delicious. Fries were fries. Service was fine.

Smokin Fins features a unique menu that blends seafood, sushi, and house smoked specialties. We came here for the happy hour specials. Happy hour is available everyday from 2-5PM. Located in Olde Towne Arvada, parking is mostly street parking or a small shared parking lot nearby. For happy hour, we started with 1/2 dozen oysters, which were $3/each for happy hour. We got 1/2 easy coast and 1/2 west coast. The oysters were definitely fresh and good. However, instead of he usual mignonette, the house mignonette here has a soy flavor in it. It's definitely a surprise for me, and not something I thought pairs well with the raw oysters. We also had the chicken nachos, which appears to no longer be a regular menu item and is only available on the happy hour menu. The nacho is a generous portion and generously topped. I really enjoyed the nachos! I think the happy hour offerings are great! There are good prices and a good selection to choose from.

Food was prepared well. Portions are okay. Service was not good. It was 7:40pm on a Tuesday and I'm pretty sure we were a burden on them to be there. Took almost 5 minutes for anyone to greet us and when they did, they just asked what we wanted. Rarely did a table visit. Not sure if a manager was working, but if they were, they were not present.

We went here on a special occasion. I hadn't been to a Smokin' Fins in a few years. So glad to be back! Great location in Olde Town Arvada! I'll start by saying our service was outstanding, and our server was on point! A group of 12, nobody had any complaints! (Which is rare in a group that size!) Drinks came out quickly, we were easily accommodated with split checks (which I know can sometimes be a pain.) Once our orders were taken, it wasn't a long wait at all before food started hitting the table. No send-backs, no mix-ups, it was smooth! I treated myself to the Dragon Roll. It was perfect and hit the spot! I was fortunate enough to sample a bite of the lobster Mac and cheese which was making me want to order one for myself, but I exercised self-restraint. Looking at the menu, there is so much more I want to try here! Based on my experience, I'm sure it will be amazing!

Stopped by this place when visiting Arvada. Food was terrific!! We started with honey chipotle shrimp and waygu sliders. Entrees were fish and chips, Fins platter, blackened mahi tacos and honey Chipotle salmon. All of it was excellent. Portions were just right. Our server Reed was very pleasant and helped us narrow down our selections from several appealing options. Will definitely come back next time we are in the area!
