One of the nation’s oldest freestanding aviaries, this nonprofit blends conservation, keeper talks, and playful nature spaces across eight leafy acres. It’s routinely recommended by family travel editors and remains open year-round with seasonal evening hours in summer.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! If you’re a bird lover, animal lover, or need something to do on your afternoon I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tracy Aviary. We were able to spend a few hours here. The different exhibits were so exciting, especially being able to see so many birds up close and personal. There were so many different species. We opted to do the Flamingo experience where we got to feed flamingos. Eric was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made us feel very comfortable. He also was able to offer recommendations for the rest of our trip which was greatly appreciated. The gift shop was great, large selection of items. I would hope for more magnet options but we were able to get one we were happy with. We definitely will be coming back next time we’re in Salt Lake City.

This place is awesome, especially for kids. It’s basically like a bird zoo, with tons of different species to see up close. The paths are easy to walk, the exhibits are really interesting, and there are plenty of fun learning moments along the way. Kids stay entertained the whole time, and adults end up fascinated too. It’s a unique, educational, and enjoyable place to spend a few hours, highly recommend for families!

I was able to visit in late October and the weather was great. The staff that I encountered were very friendly and informative. The way that these exhibits are designed allowed me to take photos with relative ease through the fences. I was able to attend an indoor flight show and it was fun. The entire facility was clean.

Rating purely based on the Christmas lights. They charged tickets and it was fine at best. You could walk through the entire thing in minutes and not much attraction value in general compared to other places that do lights. I'll give it much better ratings than something like luminaria though, which is an extremely expensive joke. At least they had a Santa present, which was good I guess.

Personally, I am not a fan of birds...they scare me a little. But my friends visiting from Florida love birds! So we decided to go to the Aviary as a fun activity while they were in town. We brought my four month old who even found looking at the birds fascinating. The aviary had a lot to see. It was neat to see the birds there and they seemed well taken care of! I definitely recommend this as a fun place to visit in SLC.

This was a wonderful place to visit. Took us about 2 hours to explore the whole thing. The animals look well taken care of and the facilities were all clean and well kept. There were lots on interactive play structures and placed to sit. The variety of birds and fowls we saw were impressive. We loved the bird show so don't miss that when you go. It's a great place to bring small children!

Excellent Aviary (Bird Zoo) with a large variety of birds from all over the world. Fun and engaged employees/staff/volunteers. Bo Carr made sure we had a fabulous experience with each grandchild we've taken there. Be sure to get a Dole Whip icy treat and visit the gift store. Clean environment and fun for kids of all ages... 1-99!

Came here to see the Kea parrots, and was not disappointed! They were beautiful and really interesting, and we were lucky enough to have a staff member there to explain a lot of their biology and history to us. She was happy to answer questions for a bit after her demonstration, too. Super happy with the experience :) The whole aviary is set up in a really accessible, shaded, and populated kinda way. The staff was super friendly and prices weren't anything crazy.
