I love all the fresh organic produce from local farmers. There is a lady that makes awesome vegan Tomales....get some if your there they are yummy. Our favorite is Hillview farms from lincoln...they are the best folks.

My Friend went to this farmers market and she is half black, half white. While waiting in line, near a farmers van, the owner of the van walked up to her and told her to not break into his car because there is nothing valuable. She is so upset that someone would think that of her. And I am incredibly upset for her! How dare him treat her like that , and who knows who else he has treated this way!! Will not be going back!!!

Bought bouquet of flowers, fresh carrots, head of butter lettuce, and some Pakistani jalapeno chutney and some chicken tikka with naan bread for later. Everything was delicious and the vendors were nice and the prices weren't outrageous

Google
I had a buncha cool foods I never had before including a very tasty citrus hybrid that was like a seedless mandarin lemon, extremely delicious, I just wish I could remember what they called it lol

Only a couple produce stands, but it was all I needed to get romaine without fear of e-coli. A young man was singing and playing guitar. Very nice

Yelp
This place is way OVER PRICED! Don't get me wrong I know the hard work it takes to get the ground ready to plant and grow crops, but when you start selling a dozen eggs for $9 & a specialty seedless watermelon for $15 the line must be drawn. I personally have been on the hunt for a seeded watermelon (I feel it to be more natural than one not having seeds) all of which I found next door at whole foods for $8 instead of the Farmer's Market for $15!. Now I will not discredit everyone one tent had JUMBO cucumbers for $1/ea that was a steal I got a few and another stand had Beautiful puprle onions for $4/bunch. Will I go back not likely.

Yelp
Do not buy the strawberries. They scam you by putting all of the nice strawberries on top and rotten mushy black strawberries under them. Disgusting to treat community this way.

Yelp
This farmer's market is held on Tuesday in The Fountains parking lot. There is a variety of produce, hot food, baked goods and live music. I wish it would be bigger with more produce options. My favorite farmer's market in our area is the one held every Saturday on Sunrise Blvd and Folsom Blvd. We have started coming to Placer Grown Farmer's Market at The Fountains because we moved to Rocklin.

Yelp
Beautiful Tuesday The farmers market is always a relaxing walk up and down a few parking rows for me. We parked pretty far away amd were able to stop by the SPCA mobile. We saw a beautiful dog dog getting adopted! It is only small few rows, farmers with their own banners, tables, and table tents. I was really hoping there would be some heirloom tomatoes...but maybe it was too early. There was still wonderful produce, kettle corn and more! We did stop to buy some lemons. They were huge! The oranges are beautiful some of the vendors even cut some of their fruit in half to show off how delicious they looked! I was amused by the love lettuce gardens, roots and all that kept live goldfish underneath. I wish I would've asked more questions...like, does the fish come with it? I'll find out for sure next time!

Yelp
The Foothill Farmer's Market jumps around from Auburn to Tahoe to Rocklin, and most recently I spotted it in Roseville (!) in The Fountains parking lot out in front of the Whole Foods. A farmer's market in Roseville? Omg. I don't know about y'all, but I grew up eating iceberg lettuce. Yes, Roseville was an iceberg lettuce sort of town. It's so great to see the small farmers out in full force, selling their fresh, organic persimmons and asian pears and butternut squash at twice the size and half the price. Walking down the long row of friendly vendors, I also spotted cheeses and honey and teas. Their roaming schedule is on their site (http://www.foothillfarmersmarket.com/Home.html). If Ikeda's is closed on the way to Tahoe, consider hitting up the farmer's market instead. Not that a squash can really replace Ikeda's big juicy burgers or homemade pies...

Yelp
I came across Foothill Farmers Market on a Tuesday at The Fountains parking lot near Whole Foods. Open year round. It's a small area and almost all the vendors had bright banners up and visible. In the center of it all, there was a crepe stand and a wood fire pizza stand. In addition, some days I find a lot of vendors with pre-made homemade food like tamales, Indian food, or organic lasagna and other dishes as well as homemade crafts. It seems like more of that than fresh produce..

Yelp
I love bringing my little guy to our Tuesday farmer's market! He has a blast saying Hi to the farmers that offer him samples of their just picked berries. He recently scored a huge bag of popcorn when the vendor heard me tell him we'd get it next week. Well, kettle corn guy, you just got yourself a regular customer. Thanks! We try to get there early enough to have breakfast so we can snack our way around the square. Then we prepare for 2nd breakfast & have a picnic near the kids interactive fountain in front of the pet food store. Juicy berries, cinnamon muffins & some kickass roasted garlic hummus is waaaay better than a bowl of cereal in my opinion. If you have a little time to spare you should check it out. I will.

Yelp
Be sure to search out "Father and Son Farm".It's a family business. They work very hard to provide absolutely the highest quality fruits and vegetables.Don't take my word for it Just a heads up check it out yourself.Good eats.Dave knows what he's doing!Good people.

Yelp
This is a year round market(Every Tuesday 8:30-12:30), this means that sometimes the selection is kinda sparse. When it's growing season though it is spectacular! Fresh, local produce, most of the vendors aren't organic certified(some are) but many of them don't use pesticides. Besides fresh produce, you can get AMAZING fresh bread and pastries from the Baker and the Cakemaker, yummy wood fired pizzas and super delicious fresh salsa and tamales! I love the kettle corn when they are there, my only wish is that they would do a 1/2 carmel 1/2 kettle corn bag, its sometimes nice to have a little of both. Some places take credit cards but most are cash only . There isn't any ATM or bank in The Fountains either but you can get cash back at Whole Foods.

Yelp
The best way to ensure you are eating quality whole foods is to know where your food comes from: Buy Local! This Farmers Market's participation has been growing well. I enjoy stopping in on my way to work, since it is on the way. I love chatting up the farmers about what is working well for them on their farms. It is a great way to try new varieties of fruits and vegetables that can be successfully grown in the Sacramento area. I use this to help decide what to put in my own garden. You will find most vendors, if not busy, will gladly talk about varieties that are successful for them or which to stay away from. Occassionally, you may even get an invitation to visit their farm. I highly recommend all to participate in a local Farmers Market and get to know those the farmers in your area. Buy Local and know where your food comes from! Parking is cramped at this location. If you want organic eggs from this Farmer's Market you better show up early, because they usually sell out before 8am. Excellent source for local, organic meats, too. I highly recommend Dinner Bell Farm's chicken.

Yelp
I've lived in several communities in both Northern and Southern California. I've lived in Rocklin for 3+ years now and I am disappointed in the Farmers Market experience in this area. The offerings today specifically at the market were good quality, not a huge selection of veges, but that's not my main issue.... My issue is the cost of the produce at the markets up here. I've been to 3 different ones and they are all incredibly pricey. That was not my experience in a very affluent area of Southern California....and not in Solano County at the fine Larry's Produce in Suisun Valley either. I think it's unfortunate that the prices are so prohibitive to going..... The people and environment were great, no problem with that aspect.

Yelp
A small Farmers market but they have some good produce and organic options too. They also sell baked goods, meats, Mexican food, kettle corn, etc. During the summer, the local orchards sell peaches and nectarines.

Yelp
Getting farm fresh vegetables and items without going to the farms. When this place first stared to show in the Fountains parking lot, it only took up one row of parking spaces. There are usually about 20+ vendor selling there goods. Whether it's fruits, vegetables, kettle corn, salsas, or spices, it's all LOCAL. The farmers and people selling the products are more than happy to talk about there products. It's great to hear the enthusiasm they have in there livelihood. They are always willing to give you a free sample of fruits and vegetables. Every so often, you'll come across an alien vegetable, and you just have to buy it to take home to cook. You never know what you'll find here, but one thing is for sure, it's fresh local produce. Tuesday only at this location. They move to Mahany Park on Thursdays. Parking is limited because you have Whole "Paycheck" Foods nearby. If you can't find it at this farmers market, you can always stroll inside Wholefoods to buy what you couldn't find. So come on out, grab a cup of coffee at Peet's and take a stroll at the farmers market.

Yelp
From freshly baked pizza, fruit and veges to home stay program information booths Foothill Farmer's Market has something for all people. With plenty of parking available, the market is next to Whole Foods at the Fountains in Roseville. Check it out every Tuesday from 8:30am-1pm. *Try bring cash as not every vendor accepts cards.

Yelp
Picked up a case of organic peaches for $8 from Twin Peaks. The guy was very nice and picked the ones that looked good (don't touch the peaches as they bruise). He gave me this great deal because everyone was shutting down. I must've eaten 4 peaches when I got home and they were so juicy and sweet! Also bought peaches a couple days ago from Whole Foods and they weren't nearly as good. I usually go to this Farmer's Market for their kettle corn, tortilla chips and fresh salsa as well their wild halibut and salmon. Since it's peach season, I decided to try their peaches as well!

Yelp
Basically the illest and freshest of farmers markets. They have the freshest fruits & veggies. Fresh fruits and veggies are like family. You have to wake up super early on Tuesday before people buy all the good stuff though. And everyone is super nice. I even met a dude and we had a cool convo about black flag and punk rock while buying veggies. Damn that's cool!

Yelp
Love coming here on Tuesday mornings! Fresh fruits and veggies! Bought some pesto last week that is the best I've ever had. She said they make it in small batches and that's why it tastes so rich. Everyone is so friendly! Also rainbow carrots for $2? Steal!

Yelp
Can anyone tell me the name of the musician who sings out there? He does a great job.

Yelp
I am so grateful for this market, especially that it is year round. Yes, the market gets much smaller in the winter, but that is a reflection of nature...there is just less growing in the winter and people do not venture out into the cold as willingly. If you want wheatgrass or eggs, or the best selection in general, you do have to get there early. But it makes sense...the farmers can only bring so much and they want to sell all that they bring. Important to note...most of the farmers practice organic/natural farming methods without the use of pesticides, etc...however they are not all certified organic. There is HUGE cost in organic certification, so I have taken the time to get to know each farmer and ask them about their farming practices. I have found that most of these farmers do not use anything chemical on their crop because they eat off their land and feed their children off of it too. So clearly, there is a big difference between the non organic produce @ this farmers market and the non organic conventially grown produce at the grocery store. I don't know what I would do without this farmers market, not only do I do almost all of my produce shopping here, but I have built wonderful relationships with some of the farmers and I feel like I am visiting friends when I go shopping!

Yelp
I have always enjoyed shopping at Farmer's Markets and the one at The Fountains is pretty good -- certainly better and bigger than the one started near us in Rocklin. I only gave this market four stars, because in the off-season, it gets very tiny. We buy our eggs here every week and many of the other stands have great stuff. Well worth the trip over.

Yelp
Nice little farmer's market. My favorite is the hummus vendor. The spicy hummus is the best and the vendor sells at the Auburn farmer's market on Saturdays if you miss him on Tuesday.
