Birrieria La Cabaña Mexican Restaurant

We went and got the birria pizza and it definitely lived up to the hype. The tortillas are handmade here, which comes through really nice on the pizza. Like a big communal birria quesadilla.

I came for lunch around 11:30ish. The restaurant gets really busy around noon so expect to wait a lil bit for your food. My first time here was years ago and it was not very impressive. This is the 2nd time and it was amazing. I got my birria tacos with goat meat and it was so juicy. Chips and queso was also very good! Chips were homemaded and queso was perfect. Would definitely comeback to get the birria tacos again!

I went with a couple friends to this Mexican place last weekend and it was pretty good overall. The chips and salsa came out quick and were fresh, maybe a little salty but I still kept eating them lol. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and they were tasty, portions are decent without being too much. Service was friendly and relaxed, not rushed at all. The place isn’t super fancy, just a casual vibe that feels comfortable. Prices felt fair for what you get. I’d probably come back again when I’m in the area.

Do not sleep on this place. As a Fort Wayne native and lover of little hole in the wall taco places, I have been every where in town. This place is the best. The birria is cooked perfectly. The portion sizes are big and the prices are right. I had the birriaqulies and my husband had the tacos, both were delicious. We will be back!

Order in kinda night. Absolutely fantastic meal. In my opinion I judge Mexican food by the quality of the rice and I must say this establishment is excellent. Yes, it's not as easy as it seems to make rice. The Birria pizza was loaded with a succulent shredded beef and a flavorful sauce, loads of cheese. Definitely a must try and I'd be surprised if you can handle one maybe two slides. Also order the Birria egg roll which is fulling and could be a great substitute for the Birria pizza if you're looking for something a little less filling. Give them a try and see if they meet your expectations.

Food is always delicious!! Haven't ordered a meal I didn't like. Employees are typically friendly and helpful! Occasionally, they are soo busy they run behind a little. But worth the wait if you have some time.

I love their food! The staff is very friendly and the service has always been quick! Whether I was picking up for myself or for a Door Dash order the service was always speedy. The food is delicious, I just love their tacos! And the salsa is amazing!! I would definitely recommend this place to my fellow employees, family and friends!

Went here for dinner with a couple friends and honestly it was pretty good. The chips and salsa came out quick and were nice and fresh. I got the chicken enchiladas and they had a good flavor, maybe a bit too much cheese for my taste but still tasty. The rice and beans were warm and well seasoned too. Our server was friendly and kept the drinks refilled without us having to ask. The place had a casual, cozy vibe—perfect for a relaxed evening. Prices were fair for the portion sizes. I’d probably come back again to try their tacos next time.

It snowed all day and we felt like getting out of the house. We decided to try this place even though it would take us a long time. The snowy and slick trek was worth it. It was clean, friendly staff, upbeat Latin music, the menu was easy to follow, hot and large portions. My husband ordered the birria tacos, oldest daughter ordered the birria ramen, youngest had a kids burger and fries, and I had huevos con chorizo (served with fresh corn tortillas). We all had horchatas (delicious). As soon as we had their chips and salsa we knew it was going to be our new favorite place. We are a foodie family and we agreed it gets 5 stars!

There is nothing else around but this. Coming from another state, but this felt like home... following the GPS to a neighborhood where there's not much else and then you turn a corner and there's this restaurant with 17 cars. You know you made the right choice. Takes a while to get service because it's busy but the food was delicious. We chose some new to us offerings with the with rice and black beans. The way they prepared it was good but new to us. But the birria was top notch. Super cinnamon heavy IMHO but it was delicious nonetheless.

We were looking for something new one day for lunch and went a little out of our way after hearing about Birrieria La Cabaña. It did not disappoint! There were so many options and the food was delicious! The service was amazing and quick. We will definitely be going back to try more items from the menu!

Listening to what the customer wants. I ordered 2 tacos only got one asked for lettuce and cheese only they put onions and cilantro, which I'm allergic to, on it! Asked for limes got none!!! Do better people... When you go to call them can't get ahold of them!

This place feels homey and has a hole in the wall vibe. There is beautiful artwork you can buy. The goat birria is very authentic and better than what I used to have in California. Beef birria is good too. Consome is bomb! Their homemade salsas are also sooooo bomb. Wash everything down with the Jamaica and you can thank me later. Order a large Jamaica! I'm drooling as I write this. PROS: authentic food and reasonable prices. CONS: parking is a little funky but kinda reminds me of Mexico.

This was our first time here, but will not be our last. Everything we ordered was scrumptious. The portions are generous and service was on point. I would recommend getting a side order of grilled onions and jalapeños to top your tacos- it adds another dimension to the already delicious food.

Spectacular traditional flavors, friendly and prompt service, and a fun and festive vibe. I'm very glad to have stopped here. I can recommend the quesabirria, they were delicious!

Hands down one of the best and cleanest authentic Mexican restaurants. Many friends recommend us this location and we just had to try it. We were greeted by ours server and even though there were several tables and people grabbing takeout orders, our food came out really quick. We got the famous birria tacos, we tried the beef birria with hand made tortillas and they were awesome. Meat was a little dry but you can alleviate it with some stew if you like. If you are the one who likes it wet, get the plate with the birria and stew. I also got a gordita de Chicharrón which also had beans but the maize dough made it so tasty and soft that the combination was just great! Oh boy, we got more to go! The prices are decent. The best part is that it is really clean and well taken care of. Certainly coming back, who says no to a great birria consomé on a Sunday morning ! Enjoy!

No food is worth a forty minute wait when they said that it would be twenty minutes. I live around 10-15 minutes if not more from this place as I was there around the 20 minute mark. So when I got there I thought that my food would be ready right? WRONG. The place was not even that busy as it looked as if the people that were doing either door dash or grub hub were getting preferential treatment. I called in my order at 5:08 and by the time I got it home an hour or so later the taco's were falling apart. My husband was so pissed he threw them all out as the tortillas were soaked and they were inedible. I wasted seventeen dollars on FIVE tacos where there are CLOSER options that serve BETTER food. If you want to go to this place on a Friday or a busy day .. double whatever time they tell you the wait is.. because BELIEVE me NO food is worth a forty minute WAIT.

My husband and I were passing through Fort Wayne and chose Birrieria La Cabaña based on the star rating and photos of the food. We didn't even realize it was Cinco de Mayo, or we probably wouldn't have chosen Mexican food, but fortunately we arrived on the earlier side. There were just a few people there, and we sat at the back of the restaurant, but by the time we left the place was totally packed. The chips and salsa are not free, but $2.99 isn't an unfair price, and the salsa was fantastic, the chips fresh. It was difficult to choose from the menu because everything looked and smelled fantastic. I was so pleased they had aguas frescas available and ordered a piña. It took a while to get our drinks and then our food, but it was worth the wait! My husband ordered the cabana burrito and inhaled it. I looked over as I was savoring the third bite of my beef (you have a choice of beef or pork) birria burrito, and he was pushing his empty plate to the side. I laughed as he said he couldn't help himself; it was just too good. I took my time savoring every delicious bite. I also had to spend some time picking out what I perceived as way too many onions. A lot of people like a lot of onions, so I think it was probably a reasonable amount for most. I didn't mind picking them out; it does not affect my rating. This place is worth going out of the way for! And next time I'll just ask for onions on the side. The restaurant was clean and pretty typical cantina style decorations. Parking is beside and behind the restaurant, and if walking from the back, one should be cautious on the busted sidewalk, which shifts as you walk on it in some places.

Quick, friendly service, and incredible food. Parking is somewhat confusing, but there is plenty of seating and the food came out quickly. Great for a quick lunch.

Visited this unpretentious restaurant for the first time. Casual atmosphere very clean and simple. The food the usual popular Mexican fair was just delicious. That is what we are looking for weekday lunch; delicious inexpensive familiar fresh food. This casual clean place really fits the bill.

We were visiting the city for the day and decided to try out this place because my husband was craving some birria. We started with the choriqueso, which was delicious. The chips were thicker compared to most restaurants, and I prefer them that way so they don't break as easily while dipping. I got the chicken fajitas and my husband got the Birria Pizza - we both thought they were amazing. The pizza was huge and we both had plenty of leftovers. We also had excellent service while we were there. We both wish we had this restaurant back home!

(No idea why this place isn't on Yelp yet.) Very homey place. Their entire menu is basically birria served in different forms. The quesabirria (in both taco and "pizza" form) in particular is godly: The meat is tender and flavorful and the crispy homemade shells with cheese complement it perfectly. The consomme is a little bit more watery than I'd like it to be, but it is quite bold of flavor as well. Birria is always available as beef or mutton (goat meat). You can also order a mix. They also have decent cheesecakes, surprisingly enough. (Yes. Cheesecakes. Plural. There's a chocolate version if you ask, which is better than the regular cherry one IMO.) There's not much to be said with their non-birria stuff, however. All of it is pretty run-of-the-mill and neither too bad nor tasty. Even the ramen, though a cheap and interesting dish, is rather weak as an offering in comparison due to the small portion and uninteresting noodles. TL;DR Get quesabirria.

Great burritos and tacos sauces are awesome. You must give this place a try. Will be on my regular stops when I'm in Fort Wayne.

Perfect Birria tacos. Perfect Quesabirria tacos. Perfect Birria. Whether you like beef or goat Birria, you can't go wrong with this place. We stopped here on our way back to Michigan and now we are plotting our next visit that way just so we can stop here again. We also tried the enchiladas, those were divine as well. All tortillas that we ate were hand made corn/maiz tortillas which made this meal perfection. Everything was tender and delicious. I forgot to take but one picture of two of our tacos because I couldn't wait to dig in. So I am uploading the one that I did take!

The food is amazing, clean place, good service, the consommé is second to none! I had the tacos but will definitely be back for the pizzabirrita and the ramen!

Fast friendly service. I ordered carne de res birria pizza and I could definitely taste a little goat occasionally between bites. The pizza came with 4 tiny portions of salsas limes. I will definitely be asking for extra next time. The consume was good. Hole in the wall restaurant with a cute little homey vibe.

Came here to Order food. I got a Birrieria Pizza and cheeseburger and I tried the tacos and All of them looked good the had some items that they were selling. They had a Painting that they were selling and it is $25. Great place. (P.S The menu is in Spanish so Google Translate it.) Prices were not bad.

Theres so much I can say. Everything was delicious tender flavorful. Clean. Service was great. The family are so inviting nice. You have to try it for you're self. The taco birria was excellent. The only thing was I asked for consome "broth" I wished it had some meat in it. I also wish they had guajillo oil for some off us that dosent like it spicy. Great place.

Nothing fancy but decent atmosphere. Nice staff, Good food, and very authentic. I'm personally not a fan of goat because it is very gamey tasting, which is their specialty, but everything else I've had is pretty good. I also wish they served chips and salsa with their meals instead of it costing extra. The notes posted on each table asking customers to tip are a little tacky.

Finally had a chance check this joint out-the food was delicious , my wife and I split the birria en consume carne y caldo-it was amazing , the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection -we also split the pork Chile negro plate which was cooked tender and had a great sauce/ gravy -it had some great heat . The service was attentive and very friendly -the place is very clean with a ton of extra stuff for sale ,such as candy and hats -definitely would recommend this spot!
