Kirby Lake Park is a public access point to Kirby Lake just south of Abilene, Texas. There are a few hiking trails, lots of fishing, and even some boating. I rate a 4/5 because I didn't see any covered benches at the waters edge.

It's the forgotten lake! The entrance has curb appeal with an excellent inviting atmosphere. However, once you enter the back area where the lake is very secluded. The fishing dock is a nice touch but it's pretty much the only nice spot. All the tree's and brush are overgrown. Most of the roads are not accessible due to poor maintenance. The holes are so big and deep, I wouldn't even take my 4x4 through them, leaving only a handful of areas available to fish or just sit and look over the water. Other areas are pretty dangerous to drive over as well, with narrow roads and deep drop offs. Then there's the trash! Trash is horrible! Trashy, trashy, trashy!

I've called parks and rec 3 times over the last few months about the big slide. Some kid is going to get cut up on it.

Nice playground for kids of all ages. No swimming in the lake.

I take my kids here to observe nature. There is a lot of trash (wrappers and bottles), and the weeds are pretty wild. Nice that it's close and has fishing piers.

Nice little lake, I wish people would stop trashing it. Leaving their garbage thrown everywhere.
