Santangelo's Restaurant

I made 530 reservations three weeks in advanced for Christmas Eve, only the lounge was available. We decided to arrive a little early to have a cocktail at the bar. There was not any parking available, the entire parking lot was full. We decided to go down the street for a bit. I was dropped at the door and the crowd was to the door. After a bit I realized no one was moving and this was just the wait for tables. I was able to push through to the greeter and let hostess know we had arrived. I then attempted to use the bathroom that was also overflowing with patrons. By the time I was able to sift through the crowd again our table was available in the lounge. We had a party of four that could barely squash into the tiny booth and a guests coat from another table was blocking a portion of the very small opening to the booth. By this time I was ready to call it an evening, the congested area was just very uncomfortable. Large parties just standing in the lounge area many with small children. It would have been more appropriate to have families not utilizing the lounge wait outside if there was no waiting space in the corridor.Our server was friendly and very efficient. I had a salad with crumbly blue cheese. Surf and Turf medium rare. The steak was very rare. Other guests had sampler, and pasta with meatballs. The food was good other than my steak being rare. I had a pomegranate martini for my second cocktail. My portion of the bill with tip was $120 for surf and turf and one martini. The first round of drinks was paid for at the bar. I thought it was a bit steep for what I received but it was a holiday so why not treat yourself! I did purchase a $50 GC as well and it seemed I was going to have to get back to hostess stand, fortunately our server was able to accommodate the purchase for me! There was no way of getting through the crowd again. It was now after 7pm and the commotion was increasing. As we exited there was a loud dispute and two vehicles yelling profanities at each other this went on for nearly five minutes as we were trying to get to our vehicle that was in the line of fire. Several other guests also seemed to be caught up in this stand off. Fortunately the dispute was broken up peacefully. I don't think I will be coming back on a holiday, to say the least.

The service and atmosphere was outstanding at this restaurant food was good but to be dealer we are large party. Scallops were good but the sides were a little less than overwhelming. Our waitress was outstanding. Never once didn’t bring a drink or something requested and got it all right. I would go back for sure.

We had the best waitress tonight. She was kind, friendly, quick and did a great job keeping our drinks full. The canoli and the cheesecake here is UNBELIEVABLE. I didn't even want to wait to give this review. Thank you Ajantha for your amazing service and hospitality! We will be returning!

Interesting experience. I called in and asked if they could seat one as online it states reservation only. They said I could be seated in the bar area. When I arrived they sat me at a very nice booth. Understandably it was noisy in this area as people are dining in this area and enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail. The dining area is a lot more quiet I assume as the waitress told me it was a bit more relaxed back there. The atmosphere is excellent! The service was good. A.J. was my waitress. A special education teacher's assistant who was very kind and professional. She had a very cheery demeanor and made the dining experience excellent. The food was phenomenal. I would reccomend the salmon with the lemon butter garlic sauce. The salad was a bit sparse but very fresh and good. Thanks for a wonderful meal Santangelo's, and a wonderful dining experience!

We visited Santangelo's Restaurant just as they were opening at 4:00 p.m. on a Sunday, arriving without a reservation. Although they were nearly totally booked, they kindly accommodated us. We were grateful they did because we had a great experience (but see updates below). With a choice of soup or salad, I chose a salad and my wife chose their homemade chicken noodle soup. I got to taste the soup and found it delicious, containing tender chicken with carrots and noodles that were not overcooked. My salad was dressed with a tasty Italian vinaigrette and was a great way to start a meal. For my main course, I ordered chicken riggies. The server asked whether I wanted it mild, medium, hot, or blazing hot. I chose hot, hoping that my taste buds would still be able to detect the nuanced flavors of the creamy tomato sauce. As with the soup, all components of the dish were flavorful and perfectly cooked. During the past 30 years, I have ordered this regional dish at many Italian restaurants, including in Rome and Utica NY, its place of origin. Santangelo's chicken riggies ranks with the best I've had. It was just outstanding. Also, the service and ambience were excellent. One minor disappointment was that the bread was served at refrigerator temperature instead of being warmed. UPDATE-1: Consistency may be a problem at this restaurant. I ordered the Chicken Riggies again, but this time the pasta and vegetables were overcooked and in contrast to sweet tender breast-meat chicken, this time the dish had mostly dark meat that was somewhat gamey tasting. I left most of the chicken in the bowl. Also, we were disappointed in the garlic pizza bread. The bread had too little garlic and was very dry. It would have benefited from some butter being spread on the slices before topping with cheese and garlic. I'd recommend you just stick with the complimentary cold bread they serve with all meals. My wife ordered the Chicken Abruzzi again and loved it. Two grilled chicken breasts sandwiched a large portobello mushroom cap placed on a bed of lettuce with some sliced tomatoes and mozzarella. This must be one of the lower calorie dishes on the restaurant's menu. UPDATE-2: Another disappointing meal. We returned here to meet friends who invited us to join them at the restaurant. I ordered the rigatoni pasta with traditional sauce and mild Italian sausage, and for a $3 up charge, had it topped with mozzarella and baked. It came with a side salad which for an $8.95 up charge could be replaced by an individual antipasto salad. The salad was great. However, when my main was delivered, I pointed out that the two round lumps under the cheese looked like meatballs but my waitress assured me that it was sausage. A few minutes later when I tried a bite, I found it to be a meatball. I moved both of them on to my bread plate and caught the attention of our waitress. She did deliver one 3" link of sausage after I had mostly finished my pasta. The traditional sauce was pretty bland and the pasta had not been properly drained, so there was water at the bottom of the bowl preventing sauce from sticking to the pasta. I did enjoy sharing a pistachio cannoli with my wife for dessert.

Absolutely delicious food with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff! Got the Alfredo which was creamy and not at all dry. Also got the calamari which was perfectly breaded with a tangy tomato sauce. The Caesar salad and pasta fagioli were great starters to the whole meal. Highly recommend!

This was my first time at this restaurant. We had prompt seating after arriving for our reservation. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. My name was in the menus, bonus points.

My son and I recently had dinner at Santangelo’s. It was a rainy night, but the restaurant was warm and welcoming. It was nice seeing the restaurant decorated beautifully for the holiday season. Our food came out prompt. It was warm and delicious. Our server was great. She checked in a couple times. I enjoyed the chicken riggies. My son enjoyed a burger. Everything tasted great. The salad with the meal is robust and had seasonal flare. It wasn’t a typical side salad. We look forward to returning.

Once again another great Birthday dinner with my family. Seated promptly and greeted from our amazing waitress Jasmine. Ordered the most tasty Delmonico cooked a perfectly medium rare. We also ordered the Chicken Ambruzzi on top of a nice sized portobello. For wine we had a nice Pinot. So good. A must try for all. You have to check them out.

All of the above food service i ambience! I take the tan members of my family out at Christmas time every year this year we decided to try someplace different and we were happy we did!

Yes and again. This time for my birthday! Great service n dinner on a very, busy Saturday night. A restaurant that knows how to prepare good meals. We were seated within the time we were told. Service was great, Italian bread with butter n a dipping oil to the table. This is a sign to me of a good place! The entrees include soup or salad. Let me just say I always order a chef salad n theirs its very different from other Italian restaurants in a good wa right down to the Italian dressing. Specialty entree are what i like the spaghetti and meatballs are a good choice too. You love Italian check this place out. It really is a Liverpool gem.

Typical ambiance that you'd expect in an Italian restaurant but you can tell this place is family owned and well loved, though a bit more of a casual atmosphere than we expected. They had the original menu from opening in 1986 on display at our table which was fun to discuss during dinner! We got 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and a dessert for around $100. The entrees were pretty big servings, and came with choice of soup or salad. We both got pasta dishes and were pleased with the flavors and quality. All of their signature cocktails look quite sweet, but they also have a full bar and wine/beer menu. The chocolate chip cannoli we got for dessert was huge, tasty, and had plenty of chocolate chips, but it wasn't my favorite that I've had. I should have tried their dessert special, hazelnut Bailey's cheesecake! Servers were friendly and attentive, checking on us and refilling waters as needed. We felt overall that the prices were a bit steep for the experience but overall enjoyed our evening and would recommend a visit.

Fast friendly service. Wait staff was the best part of the experience. Food was good but didn't live up to the hype. I wasn't impressed with the sauce nor the meatball. Probably won't eat there again.

It is a lot larger than it looks from the outside. It was nicely laid out. We were placed in the rearmost dining room, which was quite spacious and comfortable. The server attending to us was very pleasant and offered some suggestions with respect to cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. Their version of the Cosmopolitan cocktail was interesting but not for me. I also had a Manhattan, and that was well made and balanced. I had a great Caesar salad. The dressing was excellent, the lettuce was crisp, and the cheese was great. My wife had the eggplant parmesan for her entree, and she loved it. I had a classic rack of lamb, and it was prepared very well. The portions were generous, to say the least. I would give it a try. The menu is large enough so that everyone will find something that they will enjoy.

We had a pretty good birthday dinner here for a family member the other night. My Pom martini was great. Started off with garlic pizza bread, greens, and calamari. I got the filet with Alfredo for my entree. Others tried the veal, chicken, and fish. Everything was cooked well and we had no complaints. Finished off with a piece of cake. Our waiter was attentive but could've been slightly friendlier. He wasn't rude but not necessarily welcoming. We still tipped well as he was prompt. Also, the prices here are a bit higher than other places where you can get the same quality. Kind of nuts that it's an 8-10$ upcharge for a side of Alfredo versus red sauce when pasta comes with the meal.

We made reservations for 2 at 4:30 on a Thursday and by 5 the dining room was quite full. Warm and friendly atmosphere welcomed us with bright smiles and quick escort to our table by the window. Beautiful Christmas tree, lovely decorations, and unique window dressings, (ours was A Nightmare Before Christmas setting see the pic). We had the light crispy tender calamari with all 3 dipping sauces, marinara, balsamic, and cocktail, all of which complimented the appetizer. Our waitress was nice and very efficient yet didn't rush us at all. We each had the garden salad fresh greens and romaine with tomato, olives, and cucumber and the house vinaigrette which was well balanced oil and vinegar. Fresh Italian bread, olive oil, and a dish of Parmesan cheese complimented the salad pre dinner. My Isaac's platter was tender grilled eggplant with sauce, homemade large ravioli, sausage, and meatball. I didn't grab a pic of the Cosmo Platter my co-diner had but there was none left on the plate and that says it all. I had leftovers to take home. Desserts sounded great we need to go back just for those. Still our favorite Italian sauce in town!

My fiancé and I spent our 2nd anniversary there Saturday evening. our dinner reservations were for 4:30 and we were sat immediately. The atmosphere was romantic and very relaxing. Our waitress was outstanding even while extremely busy. The food was perfection. Our new favorite. We both loved it and look forward to our next date night at Santangelo. Thank you for making our anniversary extra special.

My family and I (9 of us) had dinner last night at Santangelo's and we had a fantastic time! The wine, the food and ambiance were excellent. Our waitress was terrific: friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. We had 1 vegan, a couple of vegetarians, a pescatarian and some small children. We were all easily accommodated and the food was delicious! I especially recommend the cheese garlic bread, regular garlic bread, garden salad and eggplant Parmesan. All of it was delicious. Great wine list too. We ended the meal with a slice of peanut butter pie which was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to go back to Santangelo's!

Another fantastic family-owned business serving fantastic authentic Italian dishes. I had the lamb chop special and next time I'm in town I'll get it again (if they're offering it that night). Everything everyone at our table ordered was delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Service was excellent as well.

4 stars seems about right, it was very good, nice family get together kinda place. met some family from town while i was in town, this isnt their usual place, but #2 in the pecking order. we started with their pizza bread, which was pretty good. i hadnt eaten for a while, but i knew dinner was around the corner, so only a piece of bread for me, speaking of which, do they not have bread here?? idk, maybe since we got a bread app? idk. i got the chicken fransice, which was very good. i would have LOVED if it was a bit flatter for consistency, but overall, very good. they did stick us in a room with a 12 top and another 10 top, needless to say, it was yelling for about an hour to communicate with the relatives, a touch out of our comfort zone, but i wouldnt say it prohibited a good gathering! if youre taking me, im going back....

I have been here three times with family and friends and always had a wonderful experience. My go to is the eggplant parmesan. Each time the eggplant parm had right amount of breadcrumbs and was not very oily. It was perfect. You do have to make a reservation but the staff appear to be very efficient and enjoy being seated in the room with the cozy fireplace. The ambiance is welcoming and cozy. You cant go wrong here!

I have lived in Liverpool for almost 4 years now and have never been to Santangelo's. I got a gift card from my father in law, so that kicked me in the butt to try them out! This may be one of our new favorite Italian restaurants in the area! They were pretty busy for a Wednesday at 5:30, but we were seated promptly and the waitress was great about recommendations and checking in on us regularly. We definitely felt like we were treated like family. We started with fried calamari, which was so crispy and came with three different dipping sauces! We also liked that the bread came with dipping oil instead of butter. My only complaint was that the bread wasn't warm. Since I have never been there, I decided to get a sampler platter for my meal. This came with eggplant parm, ravioli, ziti, meatballs and sausage. Everything was delicious and I had plenty of leftovers for the next day. My husband also enjoyed his steak and shrimp entree. We will definitely be back!

The food is always hot and delicious. Service is top notch. They have gotten us in quickly without reservations several times. Can't go wrong with choosing Santangelo's!

My father in law knew something as an out-of-towner that we always took for granted: Syracuse was the Land of Plenty when it came to Italian restaurants. It felt like every time he came to visit, we would inevitably take him to yet another red checkered table cloth joint. But time and tide, and pandemics, and family succession planning, bring changes. The gone but not forgotten: -Aunt Josies -Critella's -Grimaldi's -Luigi's -Casa de Copani -Mother's (Liverpool) It's enough to make you cry in your chianti. But all is not lost, friends. Santangelo's is the real deal, delivering the goods since 1986. I finally got there this past week, though my wife has been several times (without me, but I'm not jealous. Well, maybe a bit.). Everything here screams "old school" in the best way possible. The almost labyrinthine set of dining rooms, the friendly, competent, funny and never intrusive wait staff. The kitschy Christmas decor still on display in early January. But most of all? The food. We started with a special app of fried goat cheese, a nice little ball with pesto inside, with a fabulous splash of house spicy tomato sauce. Totally swoon worth on it's own, but then... The seafood chowder: OMG this is indeed Valhalla. A creamy base, probably based on house made seafood stock, so much depth, and full to the brim with goodness. Our server quipped that she made sure there were "nice, big pieces in there". Seriously, one lobstah bite overflowed my soup spoon. For my main, the veal marsala was simply superb. Super tender veal cutlet, perfect sauce, more than enough mushrooms. My family members both went with chicken parm, and unquestionably, these were fresh chicken cutlets, one with house made pasta. The dining room was packed, understandably so, but there's enough carpeting and soft materials that it never felt loud, not even with a birthday of 10 seated close to us. A welcoming, warm place that keeps the Syracuse tradition of great Italian food alive.

WOW... old school Italian! Flavors and portions make you feel right as home, at Nana's... service was great and an overall great place

Was between two Italian places to eat and by vote came here. Called ahead for a reservation and pulled into the packed lot about 10minutes before our reservation. Had to drop Cheech and Chong by the head shoppe on the way to load up on stickers so we came ready. Upon entry there is several areas for seating - bar area, large back areas that look private and the regular tables and booths. We came a little early and we're sat immediately. We ordered our drinks and started with fried mozz, pizza bread, and the boys added mushroom caps. Thicc Henry Esq., the consigliere, always goes caps on it. Not I. The mozzarella was ok - a little on the thin side, and the pizza bread was really good. Both the marinaras were good that they came with it. Here's where things start to spiral. Our waiter - young guy, really struggled at refilling drinks. To the point we were looking for him. Also, he would disappear for extended periods where I didn't even see him anywhere. Nice guy - young guy. But service was subpar. I went with my usual chicken Parmesan (for this who read my yelps often. After ordering and the apps coming out quickly - the entrees seemed to take forever. And I don't use that lightly. Then when our meals arrived by chicken was cool. Not hot, not cold - but it was obvious it had sat and hadn't been taken out even remotely on time from the window. It wasn't bad in terms of taste or flavor but the chicken could have been thinner rather than feel like I was eating a large chicken breast from KFC with sauce on it. Again the man disappeared on us to the point another lady refilled our drinks. I made sure when he finally came back to represent we wanted dessert - which we ordered along with coffee. I went with the cheesecake and raspberry sauce - which was good. Then the bill came. Let me say this (again) IF YOU CANT EAT THE CREDIT CARD CHARGE AND YOU WANT TO PASS THAT ALONG TO YOUR CUSTOMER THAN EITHER SELL YOUR BUSINESS TO SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS OR BE A CASH ONLY BUSINESS. Charging a 3.75% surcharge for using a credit card is total NONSENSE. Period. That's bad business. And yea - I own 10 of them. I would know. I also play ball sports so there's that too.

Santangelo's Restaurant was the lifetime dream of Sam, Sally, and Guilio, and little has changed about Santangelo's since it opened in 1986. The beige exterior and burgundy red sign is a recognizable landmark for regular drivers of Old Liverpool Road, for the past three decades. Dark woods, earth tones and rounded archways inside have been well cared for over the years, and the menu includes Italian cuisines, fresh steak, veal & homemade desserts. I've lived in Syracuse most of my life and while I've known about Santangelo's as long as I can remember, I've never eaten there. I was recently invited for a friends birthday celebratory dinner, so I was looking forward to trying out a restaurant that has the type of reputation Santangelo's does. We had a reservation for 5:15 on a Friday and we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly and went over the specials while taking out appetizer order. I personally didn't partake in any of the apps, just my main order. I went with the Pork Chop Ala Andalo, a pork chop topped with Utica greens served over garlic mashed potatoes. We had a party of 6 and the restaurant was mostly full, but our dishes were brought out quickly. Mine wasn't bad, but didn't blow me away. The garlic mashed potatoes were great, but my pork chop was fatty and rubbery, and the greens had no heat to them. I prefer my Utica greens on the spicier side but I wasn't offered an option on the heat level, so I assume they only make them one way. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals so perhaps I just didn't choose the best meal, but I was definitely disappointed. Pricing was comparable to other "fancy" Italian restaurants, service was fine, so it wasn't the worst meal I've had and I'd perhaps give them another try, but wouldn't go out of my way. I still have not been able to find an Italian restaurant in the Syracuse area that I've had a great experience at.

I would have rated Santangelo's 4 stars for the dining experience but had to deduct a star based upon a required $100 deposit to my credit card which was inadvertently removed from the bill and not from my card as specifically requested. When splitting the bill three ways this meant I had to eat the extra $100 because nobody realized the $100 was taken off the bill nor were we told. It's an unnecessary requirement because the restaurant is good but hardly great. The ambience was lovely and my party of 8 was seated promptly at 7pm on a busy Saturday night. The server (Jenny) was lovely and very welcoming and attentive. Our meals ran from pasta to chicken to veal and everything was nice. Not Michelin starred caliber but a decent family restaurant. I'd recommend not going there with a party of 8 or more because the added deposit caused me confusion and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Tasty food, good service, comfortable atmosphere. Utica greens are a hit. The portions are large and the combination of ingredients is authentic Italian.

4.5 Stars. I know my way around an Italian restaurant and and kitchen. This was solid. Had dinner with my son in September, the with son & wife in October. All good all around. Nothing ever got me out Liverpool way so I hadn't been here before & I've been to most SYR and Utica Italian joints.

I love this restaurant more and more each time I visit. The food is phenomenal. The servers have always been nice, helpful and efficient. The ambiance is old school italian, very clean and inviting. Nothing bad to say about this place.

Always a great meal here! We started with some apps. Fried mozzarella, calamari, sausage stuffed mushrooms, and clams casino. All delicious. Dinner salads came and had a myriad of ingredients. All fresh and tasty. For dinners we had the chicken parmigiana and veal Raymo. We were full at this point, so we opted to take them home! The chicken parm was HUGE and was cut with a fork tender. The veal was stuffed with prosciutto, artichokes, spinach, and topped with cheese. Excellent! Our bartender/server was fast, friendly, and efficient! Very reasonable prices. Gotta check em out!!

The ambiance was absolutely horrible, service was average and food was good. When dining out I expect to treated graciously, receive excellent service and a great meal. We were unexpectedly seated at the bar not the dining room, it was so obnoxiously loud we couldn't even have a conversation or hear our server. The hostess was so unbelievably rude to us when we asked about moving to a quieter area, we ended up having our meals boxed (as they hadn't arrived yet), we left and ate at home. After being patrons for over 30 years, we won't be back!!!

Everything was great: food; service; and atmosphere was perfect. It is on our 'we need to go again list!'

Read online that this had been voted the 2nd best Italian restaurant in Syracuse for 2020 so while my husband and I were staying overnight in the 'cuse, decided to try it out. We weren't really feeling going out even though you can dine-in, so ordered to go. The woman who took our order was very pleasant on the phone and it was ready right when they said it would be. Everything was packaged nicely, and was hot and fresh. We tried and shared the following: Vodka sauce pasta with peas and mushrooms and added the spidies. The spidies were cooked perfectly, and the vodka sauce was good. We also had the sampler platter that comes with chicken Parmesan, ravioli, and the pasta with Alfredo sauce. The chicken Parmesan was done perfectly and a nice tomato sauce. The ravioli was also delicious and the homemade Alfredo sauce was also yummy! The Cesar salad was good (hubs really liked their dressing) and I loved how they had chickpeas, Crasins, and nicely shredded carrots in their house salad! Only thing not impressed with was the bread. Overall yummy food!

Looking for a dine-in option in the Syracuse area and heard about this gem! Although they were booked solid, the hostess (a beautiful soul) found us a "socially distanced" table. Walking into a stunning display of woodwork and quirkiness. The ambiance is really chill with the subtle swooning by one of the "Rat-Pack" vocalists. Sure there is some sub-text in there somewhere. The volume was perfect. Our server, Erica, was so nice. My wife is currently on a very strict diet and Erica was able to accomidate her in every way. I started with Clams Casino, followed by a cup of Clam Chowder (Manhattan style). The Casinos were spot on. The clam was juicy and succulent, not dry and rubbery, and that is what really makes them stand out. It is very easy to overcook the clam. Perfect ratio of clam to breading and they were delicious. My main was the 8 rib rack of lamb special topped with a porcini mushroom glace. These beautiful ribs were cooked to a perfect mid-rare. The meat medallions were so good. I honestly thought that I would be shelling out somewhere in the high $30 - low $40 range. Nope. I believe my main was $31 I am keeping this establishment in my go-to list when in Syracuse.

Santangelo's is the type of place you go if you want consistency. The service is seamless and the food is fresh and delicious. We had a great date night, and very much enjoyed ourselves. Our server was perfectly informative, letting us know about all of the specials and giving us plenty of time to look things over. There was never any rush, it was a very laid back feel (like relax and enjoy yourself.) All the servers seem to be attentive to the tables and paying attention, we had at least 4 different people stop by to pour water/clear plates and glasses/etc...service was top notch. As far as food, we started with salads and I got the small antipasti salad which was delicious! It had egg, artichoke, meats and cheeses, olives, pepperoncini and more - delish! I went with the California red blend and I was super happy with it, it was really nice and complimented my food perfectly. For dinner I got the bourbon salmon and I was happy dancing! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the bourbon glaze was balanced/sweet/ and delicious. My date got a seafood Bouillabaisse and he was very happy with it. Lost a star on dessert. We ordered a white cake dessert with custard and fruit and it was dry. Also I'm not certain my espresso martini had espresso in it even though the menu mentioned it did (espresso froths a certain way in the martini and makes it a darker color. I was also yawning after.) Overall we really enjoyed and will be back!

Fish dinner broiled was BLAH and watery. Got there and they ran out of clams..was told 15 min wait, then 30 and then trying to sit us a bar. THey need a real ITALIAN CHEF.

Our party of 5 really enjoyed this restaurant! We made a reservation which I definitely recommend and we were immediately seated by a friendly hostess. The restaurant is beautiful, well-kept, and CLEAN! They have a great wine list and some pretty good spirits available at great prices. Cumulatively, we ordered the chicken française, homemade ravioli, meatballs, sausage, and steak. Everything was really good. Some of the items could have been served hotter but for 5 people, I understand how difficult that can be and it wasn't a dealbreaker for me. The service was outstanding and one of the only restaurants in the Syracuse area with top-notch customer service. The fine details usually associated with old-school Italian dining did not go unnoticed. We also were allowed to sit there and enjoy our food without getting hassled. FYI they charge 3.75% for credit card charges so be prepared or bring cash.

Last evening, I took my wife here for a birthday dinner. When finally seated, we waited 15 minutes before anybody responded for service. At that point, I began timing service responses. A waitress finally responded and took our orders for 2 entrees. My wife ordered Chicken Marsala and I chose fried Haddock with a pasta side. After 40 minutes, our orders were finally delivered. The server then disappeared from the room for several minutes, without returning for our dinner's enjoyment status. After 18 minutes, there came a time for us to relate our dining status. My wife related that the waitress that the chicken was tough, with a rather bland taste. I complained that my haddock was "way overcooked" and that my pasta was served almost cold. With no apology for the blunders, or any offer for a retry, the server said she would tell the cook -- and never returned with a response. She again disappeared from the room. Another 15 minutes lapsed. The waitress finally reappeared in the room and I called her to the table. She said that the cook was informed and that "he would try to do better the next time around". The manager (viewed by us, sitting at the bar) was also obviously aware of the complaint. She directly looked over at our table, as we viewed the server conversing with her. Due to hunger on both our parts, we consumed about 1/4 of entree and only kept the remaining chicken for our dogs. The waitress eventually returned with the dinner check -- with no apology for our lousy meals. I painfully paid the amount of the check, quite "exorbitant" for the given quality of food and service. We then left the restaurant, with rememberance of an "inedible" meal and that there was never any positive in-house response to our issues. Thank you Santangelo's, for allowing us to sample a true dining experience at your restaurant -- with 2 absolutely inedible entrees. I gave my "one star" to the waitress, for a very prompt response with the dinner check, along with her generous "have a good evening" greeting.

Wonderful first time experience from the drinks to the soup of the day to the meatball riggies. Everything about my visit was amazing the food is as if Ma and Pa are cooking it with love

My Italian family's go-to restaurant. Everything is excellent and the portions/value is just right. Service is impeccable and it's very warm and inviting inside. You should go eat for your self! Get the Utica Greens. Mangia!

One of our favorite places in Liverpool for family gathering. The menu offers a variety of options and all taste fantastic. Servers are always kind and attentive. Comfortable dining environment as well.

We came across this gem of a place on Syracuse parents weekend. Our son has celiac disease and so we needed a place with gluten free options. Our server Erica was delightful and very attentive. She was very careful with getting our orders correct. The food was old style Italian- rich, savory and delicious! I got a combination entree with chicken park, ravioli and penne Alfredo. Very good sized portions. My wife had Chicken Abruzzio that was also quite good. Our son liked the gluten free penne with a spicy cream sauce. Dessert was also delicious ( tiramisu for us, ice cream sundae for our son). Several of the staff came to say hello and ask about parents weekend. Clearly a friendly family run place. We will definitely come back on future visits to Syracuse!

The food was delicious. Service was amazing our server was very attentive. Homemade cheesecake with raspberry sauce was very delicious and highly recommended. Never had a bad meal there!

This place is very accommodating. When I say this I mean it, like when I made the reservation it was for five people. Then it changed to eight ~ so as we were waiting it changed to 10 people and when they arrived it turned out to be a total of 11 and they seated us with ease. They served us with grace. The food was fabulous and everything was absolutely wonderful. I only wish I could remember our waitresses name I believe it may have been Lindsay. She was Amazing!! We ended up being there past closing which bothered no one. The song Cuban shuffle came on they turned it up for us and we all danced, our friends that just got married they were still in they're wedding attire so it was just like at their reception. Congratulations again Doug and Pam Hopp !!

Went here for a business function on a Tuesday evening with about thirty people in small banquet room. The staff showed us to the space promptly and proceeded to take drink orders which were promptly served. After everyone was seated we had some appetizers which included calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and clams. Each of the appetizers was nicely presented and tasty. The bread on the table was fresh and also top notch. For an entree I ordered a special which was a Delmonico steak with mashed potato and asparagus. The steak was prepared as I ordered it and the asparagus was crisp. Service all night was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Our family party of roughly 25 had an excellent experience at Santangelo's on 12/3/23. We had our own dining area. The staff graciously accommodated our request to have the tables set up in a "U" so as to make conversation easier. Once seated, our friendly, attentive and extremely competent server Lindsey (and her excellent helpers) was timely with drinks and appetizers, as well as taking our dinner orders. Salads and soups arrived quickly, as did our entrees. We were never rushed, but rather served in a perfectly orchestrated manner. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was outstanding. We had an overall exceptional dining experience and would highly recommend to friends in the future. Thank the staff for everything. Pat Colling

Our party of 7 celebrated my wife's birthday last evening. I can't over state what a wonderful meal and service we received. The food was absolutely delicious and our server, Justin, was amazing. The appetizers were tasty, and arrived quickly. Soup and salad arrived after the appetizers were devoured, and at the appropriate time our entrees arrived which were astounding. I had pre-ordered a cake and it was huge and every bit as delicious as the rest of the meal. I couldn't be more happy with Santangelo's and highly recommend them for your dining pleasure

Outstanding. One of the area BEST Italian restaurants. You will feel at home and very welcome. Antipasto is excellent.

I was their more than once for dinner. One time when I and my best friend went we were told that they had a new cook so when I received my food the meatballs were like golf balls and the sauce overcooked. The next time when I and my bestfriend came in I talked to the hostess a tall blonde about about want happened the last time so she told me I have to bring wrong because she been their 30 years and they didn't have any new cooks and sent me to one of the owners which is a female. I talked to the female owner and again she stated only her brothers work in the kitchen and their has never been a new cook wow is she saying I was lying. What happen to the customer is always right or at least give a discount at least or don't dispute the customer if they are cordial.

We made a reservation for 6 people, had 5 people, wasn't an issue. 730, a Saturday in May, we were celebrating a friend's birthday. Drinks were amazing (bonus, they were absolutely fine with guests leaving their cars overnight) food was off the charts (it was delicious AND enough for two meals) and our waitress Lindsay was a whole amazing vibe that contributed to our perfect night. We adored her! We're all working women and Santangelo's is out of our price range for everyday, but with this perfectly positive experience, we will absolutely be back.

The food was amazing and the ambiance was warm and date-night appropriate. Our server did a great job and was very nice. She recognized my we were celebrating my birthday and made sure to offer a little birthday treat. 100% would go back.

Very nice indeed. We were a large party but looked after excellently by one really nice waitress. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but we are were the 90th b'day party. Thank you. 2 large antipasti to start. Nice and fresh. Wish the bread had been warm but not a big deal. I had the rack of Lamb. Huge portions. 8 ribs. Beautifully cooked although the sauce was a touch overpowering. I would get it again but sauce on the side. Impossible to get interesting vegetables in Syracuse so I'll let it slide because it's universal around here. I should have had the baked potato because everywhere serves the same boring medley with too slush. But the main course was excellent and that's the most important thing.

Best Italian food in town. Service was great and atmosphere perfect. No wait and no rush.
