A-Tan

A-Tan is just one of those places you can count on. Like, it never disappoints. I’ve gone for date nights, I’ve gone with family, I’ve grabbed it to go — and every single time it’s been good. Not “okay.” Not “it’ll do.” Just straight up good. It’s a great date spot because the atmosphere feels nice but not stuffy. You can dress up a little or come casual and it still works. And if you’re bringing family, there’s something for everybody because the menu is massive. Japanese, Chinese, sushi, hibachi, all of it. If one person wants sushi and another wants lo mein or hibachi chicken, nobody’s arguing. I love that you can choose the hibachi side if you want that fun, grill-side experience, or sit on the regular restaurant side if you just want to relax and talk. It works for whatever mood you’re in. And the food? So good. Flavorful but not heavy. It feels fresh. You leave full but not weighed down. It’s one of those spots where you’re already thinking about what you’ll order next time. The people are always kind, service is smooth, and the whole place just has a good energy. Dine in or take it home — it hits either way. A-Tan is just solid. Every time.

Everytime I go to eat at A-Tan, it never misses! The food is always great! They serve big size portions and the food is flavorful. No need to add anything extra.The customer service always make you want to come back. I would most definitely recommend!

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. I love hibachi. However, all hibachi restaurants don’t deliver the quality that I am seeking. The seasoning of the food at A-Tan is always perfect. No extra seasonings are needed. I don’t have to drench my food with sauces either because the taste is always good.

The new plants make the atmosphere warmer. The food is as always wonderful. The server and one of the owners greeted us and served us. It was a wonderfully pleasant experience. So happy to still have A-Tan in the community. Thanks Tristina.

This place was awesome 20 years ago. Looks like it might have changed owners. Our waitress did not know anything about the menu or how the food taste. I loved this place when I was a student at UofM. But it has lost its luster.

A Tan's Hibachi in Memphis is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming and fun, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience.The food is outstanding-fresh ingredients, generous portions, and incredible flavor in every bite. The steak is tender, the chicken is juicy, everything is cooked just right. The fried rice is easily some of the best in Memphis. Whether you're going for a family dinner, a celebration, or just a great meal, A Tan's Hibachi never disappoints. Highly recommend!

Be Careful When Ordering From this Restaurant! On my recent visit my order didn’t match what I received, and the receipts had errors that resulted in overcharges. Not only is there an automatic 18% GRATUITY but the staff also didn't completely correct things when it was pointed out to them out. Be sure that you double-check everything before leaving and ensure it's accurate before paying. Hopefully the restaurant addresses these issues soon because the experience could be much smoother with more attention to detail.
