The Grizzly Rose

Didn’t expect this place to be as welcoming and inclusive as it was. Had a lot of fun! There’s many things to do! Play pool, play games, ride the mechanical bull, go line dancing, learn how to lasso. It was a great time and I will be going back next time I’m in the Denver area. I will say though that the drinks tasted watered down, which was my only qualm but honestly I was having such a good time that I didn’t care.

This has a gift shop!! Moderately priced cowboy hats, silversmith jewelry, shirts hats the works! Oh also- mechanical bull rides, pool tables, and bands and a big ole rootin tootin dance floor! Don’t be shy- just invite someone to dance and have a good time!

We had such a great time at the Grizzly Rose! We didn’t get any drinks, but we had some fries and took the dance lessons, highly recommend! The instructor made it super fun and easy to follow, even for beginners. The vibe was welcoming and energetic. Can’t wait to come back!

It was so awesome I had so much fun . I have been wanting to go here since a child and I finally went. I will be going back and be on the dance floor for sure 😃. It's a MUST GO like you have to try @LEAST ONCE.

Corey Kent concert was phenomenal! We went to the bartender in the back of the building, super friendly mama to be! She was an awesome bartender. Food was good for the typical bar food. Super fun and overall great time

Extremely disrespectful staff, door security was nice, everyone else was rude. Walked in and was not prompted to do anything other than enter the building so I went and got a drink, sat down and rode the bull then a security guard came up to me and stood in my face for ten seconds, didn't say a single word until I asked him what was up, demanded to see my ID, then WALKED AWAY with my ID without saying anything then motioned for me to follow after he had walked twenty steps away like I was a dog. Since this was my first time here I didn't realize that you had to pay which yeah that's my bad but no one said anything to me, how am I supposed to know? So I followed over to the booth thing and the lady proceeded to scream at me before I even spoke to her. Normally I wouldn't care but the more I thought about it I believe the staff profiled me because another person in my group (of a different ethnicity) didn't have a wristband either and never had to pay or anything. Even better later on one of my group members got yelled at because she was dancing in one spot away from everyone else, at a club. Ridiculous. If I knew this place was so crap I wouldn't have even bothered to spend my money here. The bull was fun though so two stars.

Had a great time seeing Jon Pardi for St. Jude fundraiser concert at the Grizzly Rose. The Grizzly Rose is a great place with a lot of music history and the people there nice and friendly!

Great price on tickets for New years Eve. Food Menu was very limited. My drinks tasted like they were watered down, and everything we went back to the bar we were charged different prices. Couldn't get a martini or a white Russian because we were told, this is a honky tonk bar, so expect to drink just beer. The men's bathroom was flooded that night, and the bathroom lines were long and terrible. No table service, parking was good. House band was the only thing outstanding there. We will try one more time to go, as I believe in giving it a second chance. But we will go only when there's a known music artist there.

This place has the trappings of an authentic honky-tonk. It has the size, wooded areas, dueling mechanical bulls, gift store, wraparound bar, kitchen, banquet room, etc. I love the rich history of musicians who have played here over the decades, shown in framed, autographed photos covering all of the walls. The Grizzly Rose takes pride in providing live country music, five nights per week. During my visit on a Saturday night, I enjoyed listening and dancing to the music of Duey & Unbroken. The 40,000 square feet of this country dance hall is impressive. Surprisingly, only 2,500 square feet is allocated to the dance floor. This is too small for the demand placed on it during a Saturday night. The front half of the dance floor is devoted to country swing dancing, while the back half is reserved for line dancing. This leaves no room for progressive partner dancing, i.e., two-step (as is normal across Texas). Country swing could not have been the prevailing form of partner dancing here since the inception of this honky-tonk in 1989. So, what year did it displace two-step? I enjoyed the line dance lesson at 7 p.m., followed by the country swing dance lesson at 8:15 p.m. Strangely, two-step is how the opening pattern taught for country swing, before it abruptly switches to country swing. Yet, they refer to all of this as country swing. This supports my suspicion that country swing hijacked two-step at some point in the history of this honky-tonk. If this is how locals here are brought up on country dancing, they're in for a surprise, if and when they go to honky-tonks across Texas, where two-step prevails. Given how crowded the dance floor gets, they might consider expanding it by another 1,000 feet or more. Then it might be possible to spare enough room on the perimeter to bring back progressive partner dancing (two-step, three-step, partner cowboy cha-cha, etc.). The main seating and walkways are concrete ground, which can wear on your feet. Therefore, I doubt the average person lasts more than a few hours of dancing before throwing in the towel.

My first time ever coming here and the guard outside who pays you down is very rude. Second you walk in and where you supposedly get a wrist band didn't get one and got yelled at halfway through my night didn't know I needed one. And the first time going up to the bar he was very rude yelling at everyone telling us we need to know what we want before even trying to approach him. And the second time just got yelled at by the same guy for taking a receipt like my bad dude there's a better way of asking. Other than that the music was good I can't give it a higher rating right now

This was the rudest staff I have ever dealt with. They did not accept half of my groups 21+ ID's and screamed at us outside for being confused as to why. They said we needed a birth certificate or passport WITH our IDs because we were from out of state. The "bouncer" (a normal staff member who clearly had no clue about fake vs real IDs) was extremely disrespectful and said it was a red flag that we were in a big group of girls even though there was a group in front of us that got in just fine. They also took the IDs of the 20 year olds in the group and held them, we had to ask for them back or else we would not have gotten them. Overall, very bad customer service and not worth my time or money.

I had such a fun night here! We were visiting from out of town and wanted to go line dancing, so we found this spot after hearing some good things about it. The vibes were good, everyone was so friendly which I loved because sometimes people can be a little standoffish to visitors. But everyone was kind, and there were so many great dancers. They have 2 mechanical bulls, a few little games, a store, and I think even more activities in the back. The music was good and the dance floor was packed but not in a bad way. Great spot!

horrible. stopped everyone i was with and questioned IDs with an additional item of proof (which was no where indicated on a website, at this point what is the point of an ID). was rude and disrespectful. brought 21 year olds along with underage IDs to review and were unsure of themselves if they were "real". bouncer accused others of intervening and "needing to mind their own business" since she "worked for this bar for 10 years." one bouncer was forced to apologize to someone i was with since she truly was 21 years old.

I didn't have a good experience. I didn't appreciate the man who operates the mechanical bull. He caused a crush injury to my foot when operating the mechnical bull. I should sue the Grizzly Rose after what that man did to my foot.

legit the rudest staff i've ever dealt with. my group of 10 friends is on spring break from college and 4 of us are 21 and 6 of us are 20. the staff bearded my friends that are 21 saying their ids were fake and forced them to provide a birth certificate or passport to be let in (so if ur 21 and out of state don't expect just your ID to let you in!!!). they didn't have their passport (obviously, who takes that to the bar). me and my friends that are 20 made one comment about how this is ridiculous how rude they were being to our 21 yr old friends when the lady shined her light in our face and yelled at us to mind our business. they need to maybe figure out how to spot a fake ID from a real ID and not be that rude to people of age.!

Grizzly Rose is a fun filled, entertaining Country Bar with live music. 4-5 bars spread around. Friendly, fast bar service. Booze is marked up though. Food menu is lacking with only pizza and chicken tenders. Beer galore. There was plenty of security to deal with a customer who had medical emergency (BRAVO--Well done. ...and for keeping any unruly drunks in check. Yeah. My main gripe: Doors at 6pm. Music at 8pm. Well, the music started at 7:30pm and the headliner did not show until 9:15 or 9:30pm. Standing Room only unless you knew to get there at 6:00pm and eat off limited menu and drink more. -- It was a late night at the Grizzly Rose.

Every time I go to the Grizzly Rose it's a great time I've had the food which is basic bar food. It's still delicious. The bar is so big that they have so many bartenders behind the bar so service is definitely great. Never a complaint there bathrooms are fully stocked and cleaned, which is a big plus for me I love that there is so many staff members out there helping each other out on the floor to clear tables and make sure everybody is comfortable.... i've seen a lot of concerts at the Grizzly Rose. I have always had a great great time definitely five stars. Thanks For The Read Until Next Time....

amazing vibes here! i came with friends for a country line dancing lesson, and although very crowded, it was a really fun experience. there's a mechanical bull for you crazies out there, as well as food, drinks, and pool.

I came from vegas so im usto those vegas prices. This was great quality fun and I really enjoyed all the activities available. I was blown away with how everyone was dancing! Soo much fun!

I absolutely do not trust the person that says they "watch" all 30 drinks that are left on the barrels outside of the bathroom. Do you know have many people that walk past those drinks or could pick it up and put it back down because it's the "wrong drink" or quickly drop something in one? Also my friend who is 20 years old and is a few days away from turning 21 was accused of "scrubbing" the x's of her hands. What would the reason be to do so? We paid 50 for tickets, there is a worker IN THE BATHROOM as well, and the main band hadn't even come on yet. We were absolutely livid when we were asked to leave because the X's were fading away. I will not be coming back, the staff was very rude and disrespectful, you are assigned a stall in the bathroom and a worker watches to make sure there isn't 2 people in a stall and you have to leave your drinks outside. I paid to come to have a night out not to be back in grade school.

Used to love this place. Tables used to be open seating, now it's $200 for a table?? After we already paid $240 for 4 to get in. Terrible decision.

Alright, had to check this place out. Stopped by on Friday night. First thing as soon as you walk in "boom" $10 cover. Most bars/ clubs everywhere I go to offer a veterans discount but not this place. $10 bucks.... anyways after this we made our way to the bar, bar staff was slammed, however, you can be busy and be courteous. A female bartender shut me down and literally stared at me for 5 seconds and ignored me and walked off after I asked for a white claw and a coors light.... Like ok cool. Then I got myself a couple shots with another bartender and bought a "bride to be a shot", and it was straight dog water.... Like it was not even a second pour. Them completely filled with redbull. Like they have to be killing it here revenue wise completely screwing over customers. I would have to say, I would pass. Band was pretty decent but place overall was trendy as hell. I like dive country bars and usually don't mind places like this, but damn.... Yeah, I'll take myself somewhere where they actually appreciate patrons.

This place is a good damn time! Went for ladies night for the first time ever recently. The free drinks are good and small but we're easy to get a refill. They didn't have a free beer that night which was a bummer. Female bartenders were bitchy but probably because most girls don't tip on free nights which is a sin, tip on your free drinks ladies! The music was excellent and the dancing was fun! Don't know a line dance? Just stand near the best person on the floor and copy their moves. We paid $5 to ride the bull but it went so slow that you either fall off immediately when it turns to the side at slow motion, like me, or you stay on for a while, like my husband, but it's more of a sexy bull ride which is a little awkward lol. Can't wait to go back for dancing fun!

I have contacted them multiple times via website, email, Facebook and Instagram over the course of several weeks and no one will get back to me. They also flat out have refused to accommodate me as a Deaf person which is a direct violation of the ADA as they are a concert venue. I would not recommend this place.

A great venue to see some of country's great acts both established and up and coming. While seating is a bit limited, there isn't a bad view in the house. They feature a large dance floor, multiple bars, and even some food (which we did not try on our visit) The service was wonderful and the bartenders were slinging out drink's quickly to help keep lines of people from piling up. Also if you open a tab you can get drinks at any of the bars in the building which is convenient, and there is no price gouging here drinks are very reasonable. The sound for both the opening band and main act were great as well. Loud but not so loud you couldn't communicate. Overall, I can't wait until the next act I want to see comes to Grizzly Rose! Came here for a concert on a Saturday night and it was popping!! I was very lucky and came with a family member of the artist so we were treated to our own reserved table and thus avoided the crowded dance floor (the show was sold out). That said, trying to figure out where to go to get our wristbands felt like an epic quest, which seemed kind of silly. But hey, we made it. The drinks were kinda pricey for what you got, but that's inflation for yah. The number of bars made it pretty easy to get a drink with minimal wait time. Bathrooms and other areas were kept clean given how busy it was, which can be a challenge for crowded venues. Parking was plentiful enough, much needed given the location. On the whole I enjoyed myself and would like to come back and check out the other attractions they offer on non-concert nights, especially the mechanical bull. Yee-haw!

So, this place is a whole bunch of nostalgic for me! I loved visiting this time! It has been a decade since I last was in The Rose and now I'm thinking I need to make this a weekly occurrence. I also think Wednesdays are my vibe. It's a free entry and you get a free two-step lesson in the middle of the floor or you can opt to go to the back studio and pay $5 for an hour long lesson in which we learned the cowboy Cha Cha. I think $5 for a full hour was a great deal. If you don't want to pay, you still have a free two-step lesson in the middle! The Grizzly Rose has many bar areas to grab drinks and also offers food like pizza! There are two bulls to ride if you wish, billiards, arcade games, etc.! So, it's a great entertainment spot! Ladies, if you're looking for FREE drinks, go on a Thursday when ladies drink for free. I haven't been back on a Thurs, so I'll have to report back when I do. But, I was loving the low key vibes of a Wednesday and the dancing! I'll be back most definitely! Plus, the live music is awesome!

We had a group of 7 from out of town and had the best time! Music, dancing, drinks, no issues at all!

Huge place! As an out of towner, I heard this was a good place to check out if you like country dancing. The dance floor is sizable and there's plenty of room to line dance and two step and country swing simultaneously, and folks are pretty respectful of each other's space on the dance floor. There's a ton to do here from arcade games, pool, dueling bulls, lasso room, Photo Booth, and a bar that serves food as well as drinks. I wouldn't come back to Denver just for this bar, but I'd consider coming back again. I was told the guy to girl ratio here is noticeable (weighing heavily on male), and that held true. Would like to try ladies night next time! TLDR; big dance floor and good for country dancing.

Ladies night to catch up! We went early at 7pm so we could just talk before the crowd came and noise level went up. Ladies night drinks start at 8pm with free well drinks. We sat at a high top and eventually took two as they only allow four chairs per table. You can stand around and be more than 4 people but you can only have four chairs. It was so fun to listen to the dj and they also had a live band which was pretty good. They played a mix of original and cover songs. We enjoyed visiting and catching up. Parking lot behind is a larger lot than the one right in front of the building. Tried the pizza for the first time on the recommendation of the guy working the floor. It was pretty good and at $3.50 a slice not a bad price. Had lots of fun as always. Bring cash as sometimes the credit card machine is finicky. They do have an ATM.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I lost my actual physical ID about two weeks ago, waiting for One in the mail. I have the Colorado ID app which has been accepted at grocery stores bars, etc. the grizzly Rose is the first place that is giving me difficulties so if you don't have a physical ID, don't fucking come here.

Very rude staff. They only force the rules on some groups and not the others. The venue was empty and wouldn't allow 5 people to sit at a table. Insinuated one person should sit at the table next to us alone.

Always have a fun time here line dancing! Weds night was fun because they have lessons for $5. The only bummer was there were so many people it was hard to learn all the steps. Thursday nights are fun for ladies night too.

Been here one other time with no problem, but this last time was a different experience. My husband and I came here for a concert and with the time gap between the doors opening and the show starting, this allows for a lot of alcohol to be consumed. We unfortunately found a table and a group of three drunk guys sat behind us who continuously would not leave us alone, threw a drink on a lady behind us because she did not appreciate being groped by them and just wanted to pick a fight. We told security on a number of occasions what was happening and what we witnessed. Barry and his security staff couldn't be bothered with this news let alone do anything about it. We witnessed them grope 2 other girls, but again nothing was done about it. After this experience, I definitely do not feel safe in this venue. The bartenders are super nice so I didn't think it was fair to give a 1 star based on this experience.

One of the last great country bars out there, we have been coming here for decades and it is always great for a concert, line dancing lessons or just a hang with friends. The new renovation looks great!

Such a fun venue to dance out! My friends and I went to a concert here and had a blast. Easy and quick service. A great night in Denver if you are looking to dance and feel western with the fake bull riding machine and line dance all night!

A great venue and mostly good bar tenders. Went for a concert and had an issue that was settled immediately by a great lager and guy on the floor. Will return and glad that a venue in Colorado has good country singers for a good price!

I wanted to like this place, but this one extremely rude bartender killed the vibe so fast! He acted super annoyed at us for even walking up to his line and then held up his hand in signal that he needed money for our shots. (Clearly!!!! My friend was getting her card out of her purse and he was rushing her) We paid and while we were grabbing our shots off the counter and signing the receipt he screamed "NEXT NEXT, OVER HERE NEXXXXTTTT, NEXT IN LINE." and looked directly at us like we were taking forever to walk away. And there wasn't even a line behind us! I read multiple reviews about this one bartender- and this guy NEEDS TO GO. Will not be back because of our interaction with this guy.

First of all, I met 1 bartender out of 5 that was a quality person. The other 4 gave me a stink eye because I'm out of state, which they could tell from my ID. Next, let's just call out the fact that my buddy had to take a call that was an emergency and they wouldn't let him back in without paying a cover. Following that, they were giving him guff for his shirt not being buttoned up enough. Granted, they let us back in, but still... Oh, and it gets better... my friend has prescription sunglasses that he needs for both flashing light sensitivity and the ability to see. They told him to take them off. They were like "it's a liability to wear sunglasses." Me, being in the legal practice said "it's also a liability to not be able to see. If he had his prescription on him, we could take you to court in our state and yours." Following that, they were hovering around us like vultures to intimidate us. It's sad and hilarious to me they don't understand establishment law in their own state and try to intimate a group of 12 people rather than just talk to us or kick us out. I'm disappointed in what I thought would be a decent night. Avoid.

The Grizzly Rose is an UH-MAZING country western bar! As soon as I walked in it reminded me of a fictional bar called the Double Deuce from the movie ROADHOUSE. RIP Patrick Swayze! the Grizzly Rose has live music and they serve food. No food for me this trip. They have many beers and have a few house drinks. Very reasonable prices. There is dancing , some couples were amazing. It can get loud , so talking through your mask is tough if you chose to keep it on. Not too many people doing that , don't hate , just know that if you don't want it to be an issue , then don't go, that simple. That's sort of hard when you're drinking cocktails. There are doorman , didn't have any issues getting in. It gets busy as it gets late. Parking is free in the lot and surrounding. I'll definitely be back !

I've been here on two Wednesdays. The Wednesday without line dancing was pretty chill. Learned some couples dancing. But the Wednesday with line dancing was totally packed. No AC (or that's what it felt like) in the back room for line dancing where they closed us in during the session. We were packed quite tightly in there. I can't imagine how many more people they would try to squeeze in there on a Friday or weekend dance session... It was slightly hard to hear the lady explaining over the mic system, but manageable. The dance itself was pretty fun. The best part was when the whole class dances together with the music at a decent pace. Would have preferred to have practiced with more music throughout the class. We danced it a few times and then the class was suddenly over.

I love the grizzly rose! Great place to go if you are into country dancing (line dancing, two stepping, etc). They have dance lessons some nights, local bands playing some nights, and big artists playing on other nights. I enjoy going there on Saturday's when the local bands play! They also have a mechanical bull you can ride so that's a hoot! This is my favorite bar in the Denver area

Hi I'm Nicolette and I was having a 5 star night until they kicked me out for being supposedly a man. I was sharing a drink with my friends, all of whom supported my gender identity. The moment I over to get a second drink, one of the "bouncers" called me out, using a homophobic slur that I refuse to repeat. Do not go here unless you want to be ostracized by heteronormative males. 0 stars. Gun to my head, would choose literally any other option!

The first time I came to this bar I loved it but recently the bar hasn't been the same. They no longer play popular line dances, take song requests but will play the same ones every weekend, the staff is significantly rude now especially the girl running the bull riding machine (there's never a reason to yell at someone for asking directions on how it works or rules) and employees vaping in the girls restroom while gossiping about patrons. I really liked this bar and now don't want to make the hour + drive from Wyoming. Please make it better so I can keep going here, especially since the one in Ft Collins shut down.

"There's a place I know called, The Grizzly Rose, where all is country folk like to go....." Buckstein sang it right and now I'm obsessed with the Grizzly Rose song, mechanical bull riding, and line dancing. This place is a must see spot in Denver even if your not a huge country fan, it's an experience. They have two mechanical bulls side by side to compete with your friends, multiple bars, line dancing, a ropin' room and 6 night a week they have a different event or special. Flying from Phoenix to Denver every weekend is even more worth it when you know you're seeing live music from your favorite country artist at the Grizzly Rose! I have seen four concert this month and every time I'm up front stage left singing country songs with my friends and the artists themselves. Never have I ever NOT had the best time at the Grizzly Rose.

Warning--- I purchased tickets for Diamond Rio and tested positive for Covid. I felt fine for the most part and could have easily went and no one would have known but decided that would not be the right thing to do morally considering it affects everyone differently and would hate to pass that on. I contacted the venue letting them know I had Covid and that I didn't feel right about going and simply asked if they could trade me two tickets to a future concert and they said and emphatic no and no refunds on any tickets. I didn't ask for a refund- simply a different show to go to and would be happy to pay the difference if there was one. I responded back to the email sharing my disappointment and that it wasn't about the money but the principle that a venue who gives out tickets and comps all the time wouldn't try to make it right for someone who was honest. It's bad enough I missed my favorite band but the fact that they didn't try to make an effort makes me have zero desire to support them again. Customer service goes a long way- in this case- there was zero and it's a good thing I know what is right or wrong but some people may have decided to go anyways and not say a word- If the venue wants to make it right they can reach out- otherwise they have lost several customers-

If you are from out of town DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Worst experience out of all the establishments I've been to in Denver. Let's start out by saying we are visiting from out of town. It was our anniversary trip and decided to listen to a recommendation by an Uber driver to try this place out. And it just so happened they had a headliner country concert that night as well. Upon arrival the atmosphere is decent. We walked around and just wanted to have a good night. I noticed a table that was completely vacant and watched it for about 30 minutes. No one sat down, there were no obvious signs anyone was sitting there, so we took a seat. At this point another couple has sat with us. We were all having a great time for about an hour. About 15 minutes later this incredibly trashy lady comes up to us accusing us of taking her table because there's a chair in the distance with a jacket on it. She proceeds to get incredibly loud and states "I'm texting Barry" .. well ok.... Because we are from out of town we have no idea what that means. 10 minutes later this security guard walks up to us declaring we need to get up and leave immediately. Well insert Barry. Apparently because this lady is a regular she gets special treatment. Barry refused to listen to anything we had to say and came over to make sure this regular got the table she wanted. A few employees had witnessed this and later thru the evening found us to let us know that this was a common occurrence. Warning is mainly for anyone who is visiting or is a first timer. Customer service and environment 100% not worth it.

Good house band. Fun dancing but staff hassling a bunch of us, 22 years old from out of state, claiming our IDs are defective...and wanted COVID cards (yes ftom 3 years ago) as "proof" of DOB. Ridiculous. If we didn't have friends inside we would have walked due to this unfriendly and ignorant staff. Hard to enjoy the evening after we each had an insane 15 minute grilling - slow night and few out of state folks.

5 stars for The Grizzly Rose . I am so grateful that I was able to have a NYE Countdown proposal for my now Fiancée. We found parking in the back, where we also entered this establishment. We preordered tickets for 25 dollars each. We were able to have those tickets scanned from our phone when we arrived. The ambiance was amazing with so many locations to explore and have fun. The overall vibe of the customers was friendly and fun. Plenty of room on the dance floor. Good drinks available. Bull riding activities. Great sound with the music playing. The MC was able to make a special announcement honoring my proposal moment. I plan to make an epic YouTube video of that wonderful night, and post on January 11th, 2022. I want to come back for more, it was that much fun. Thank you for providing a location to really have fun and share magical moments with other good people.

Bartender Jill needs to be fired immediately rudest bar tender I've ever experienced been in there a bunch since turning 21 and every time in there and I've been to her register for a beer she's been insanely rude asked for lost ID and she literally rolled her eyes and didn't want to look for it even tho I called the rose days prior and they had it but this is the second time I've asked for sum like this and each time she could give a fuck less she gotta file for unemployment bc the rose ain't for it

I had a brief experience here one Thursday night, but it was fun!! My friend invited me for Ladies Night, but I had to be up early the next morning and wasn't able to take advantage of the free drinks. Heard mixed reviews about Grizzly Rose over safety concerns. I felt safe personally, from parking in the lot right in front of the venue, to dancing with strangers. Everyone seemed to be having a blast. Friendly crowd. Great country music. Easy to pay the $10 cover with credit card. I'd totally come back here again.

Cool old school country bar . Live music, very large Inside. Several bars , several beer stations, very well staffed. I attended a private event here. I didn't care for the food served; no need to over complicate party food . Why not have wings, nachos, etc No ? They had some odd stuff like weird cheeses and cooked baby carrots.
