Last night at the Macon Christmas Market, My girlfriend and I were cold and just wanted something warm to drink. We stopped at one place that had cider, but they were only giving out samples. So we went to another spot and ordered actual drinks. While ordering, the worker repeatedly made jokes about our small cups, implying that we were financially unprepared. She also missed my beverage order, but that was honestly fine — mistakes happen. We paid, and although I stayed quiet in the moment, the service overall annoyed me. She then tried to say oh yeah it’s great cider.
This year has been tough, and it’s become very clear who truly supports who. Not everything has to be political — sometimes it’s just about basic respect. At the end of the day, I just want to be treated like a customer. In that moment, nothing else mattered.
