"Modern Moroccan for Discerning Foodies A stalwart on the medina dining scene for several years now, Nomad has fabulous views of bustling Place des Épices and takes a bold, creative approach to Moroccan dining. The yellow-and-black '60s-inspired space has several dining areas and rooftop terraces, which make lingering over lunch or dinner a joy; the food is a lighter, brighter take on local cooking that plays with traditional flavors and elevates them into something fresh and exciting. To start, try their delicately spiced Moroccan gazpacho or a shaved cauliflower and fennel salad scattered with toasted almonds; perhaps followed by a hearty plate of roasted bone marrow scattered with preserved lemons, cumin, and mint; then finishing with a hibiscus-infused panna cotta. Alcohol isn't served here, but with food this enticing, you won’t miss it."

The 22 Best Restaurants in Marrakech, Morocco - Eater

"Nomad has become a modern classic since opening in 2014. Spread over several floors, with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, the restaurant offers a broad Mediterranean menu punctuated with Moroccan flavors. The sardine tart and vegetarian pastilla (pastry stuffed with goat cheese, tomato confit, and seasonal vegetables) present Moroccan flavors in a new light. Dishes like grilled lamb chops and flourless orange cardamom ginger cake are a welcome treat for gluten-free visitors as well. Nomad’s popularity may be its greatest drawback, though, since service can feel mechanical and reservations are absolutely necessary. [$ - $$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

Great setting, particularly on the higher rooftop at sunset which allows you to see over the whole medina. Food was mixed, the sardines and the three bread starters were tasty as was the chicken as a main. The lamb neck was not so good, very bony without much meat - especially for the price. Desserts were also good with a nice panna cotta and date cake. Book in advance for the rooftop and views but would skip the lamb.

The calamari were truly amazing, the lamb was really good too. Lentil salad and 3 bread starter were really nice and fresh too. Really recommended gem in Marrakech. The terrace has nice views and they have hats for the sun if you want them.

Excellent rooftop dining experience. I recommend a reservation just to make sure you get a table where you want to sit. The views are very good. Nice breeze and shade. The 3 breads is a nice starter as well as the 5 juice tastings. My lamb chops were solids as we're my partners prawns. Dessert was excellent with 2 ice creams scoops with unique flavors as well as date cake with vanilla ice cream. Excellent experience!

We booked this restaurant specifically to catch the sunset, and it was definitely worth it. It’s one of the few places with proper rooftop access and great views over the city, just make sure to book early or you might end up sitting under the strong afternoon sun before the sunset starts. The food was decent overall. The sardine tarts were delicious and well-seasoned, the grilled lamb chops and chicken thigh tagine were hearty and flavourful, and the Agadir calamari was the standout dish, tender and paired with a beautiful tomato-based sauce that tied everything together. A great place to unwind and enjoy the sunset over dinner, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Staff seemed friendly and service was quick. The big selling point is the view over the local Souk below and the Marrakesh skyline which is probably one of the best in the city. From here you can see the city passing you by as you watch the sunset in the distance, so for the vibe and atmosphere it is a great place to visit. However both the food and the drinks let this place down, they are overpriced even when taking the view into consideration. The food I would say is just about edible at a push and the drinks are ok at best. When you factor in the location there is so much better food and drink establishments a stones through from this place. It’s really down to the individual if they feel it’s worth the sacrifice of poor quality food and drink for a world class view.

We came back for a second time after our trip in November last year. The food was again perfect: a delicious blend of Moroccan flavours with a modern twist. The rooftop views and the terrace decor are stunning too. We remembered Mariam from our last visit, she was very professional and friendly and both her and Tariq made us feel very welcome and the kids comfortable for their first visit. We highly recommend!

Went here with a group had to wait a short period before being seated as was busy. The atmosphere was nice, though it did get a bit breezy, staff were quick to put up covers, which was appreciated. The food was only okay overall, the prawns stood out being tasty. Prices felt a bit high but depending on what you're after, the overall experience was pleasant.

I had such a wonderful experience at Nomad Restaurant! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere throughout the evening. The food was absolutely outstanding — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The slow-cooked lamb (cooked for five hours!) was to die for — so tender and rich in taste. The chicken with couscous was equally delicious and perfectly seasoned. Even though the restaurant doesn’t serve alcoholic drinks, we really enjoyed our non-alcoholic beers, which paired surprisingly well with the meal. Dessert was another highlight — simply amazing and the perfect way to finish such a memorable dinner. The menu is very reasonably priced for the quality and experience you get. One thing to note: it’s a popular spot, so make sure to book well in advance! Highly recommend Nomad to anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere.
