This was my first visit to Rigazzi's in about two years. Sadly, I have to say that my experience this time was disappointing.
The food seemed to be pre-made, as opposed to being freshly made to order.
My Caesar salad was served on a cold plate, which suggests that it was pre-made, and taken out of the fridge. And it was made with iceberg lettuce, instead of the traditional Romaine lettuce, with quite a bit of dressing on top (as opposed to lightly tossing it with the lettuce, which is how it's normally prepared), and croutons off to the side.
My entree, and that of my dinner guest, appeared to be reheated. It felt as if we were served leftovers.
For dessert, I ordered the New York style cheesecake with a drizzle of strawberry syrup. However, instead of the syrup being lightly drizzled over the cheesecake, it was poured over it. The cheesecake was literally sitting in a pool of syrup on the plate.
The service was prompt and friendly, although our appetizer came out after we were already served our entrees. However, our server was nice enough to take the appetizer off our bill for our inconvenience.
Overall, though, the food was just OK. It wasn't as good as it was when was I there two years ago. In baseball lexicon, Rigazzi's fast ball has lost quite a bit of velocity. Perhaps it has something to do with the change in ownership that occurred not long after my previous visit.
