The Best Credit Cards for Annual Free Hotel Nights - AFAR

"A high-end Panama resort cited as another Fine Hotels & Resorts example that can sometimes retail for $200 or less, making it a candidate for a single-night booking to be offset by the Amex Platinum $200 Fine Hotels & Resorts statement credit." - Paul Rubio

"The Waldorf’s first Latin American property, this Calle Uruguay hotel opened in 2013 in a high-gloss, 36-floor high-rise just a block from Avenida Balboa. The 130 rooms and suites feature a gold-and-cream color scheme, the Waldorf’s signature plush bedding, and first-rate amenities like Nespresso machines and Salvatore Ferragamo toiletries. A select number of suites also feature their own terraces, complete with cushioned loungers. Relaxation is the theme on the seventh floor, where guests can find an outdoor pool and large hot tub, as well as a spa offering couples massages and body treatments like hot-stone therapy. The elegant Peacock Alley Lobby Bar serves cocktails and a Panamanian dessert tasting, while the Bungalow Terrace and Pool Bar offers haute comfort food, including a crispy mahi mahi sandwich and a burger topped with plantain jam."

EXPLORE WITH KENZO AND B.

We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Panama on November 9th to celebrate Kenzo’s birthday and our 11-year anniversary, and it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. From arrival, Oliver and Wilfredo greeted us like family. Oliver, our personal concierge, went above and beyond even before we arrived. Zuri at check-in was warm and welcoming, setting the tone for an amazing stay. Special thanks to Lille, another outstanding concierge, and to William at Matiz Restaurant—he was absolutely incredible. We also want to recognize Karla, José, Yelmy, Federico, and Bunny for excellent service. Our room attendant Geselle surprised us each day with thoughtful touches. Dailin and Jose at Peacock Alley, Jafet at the pool, and Esparanza in the evening all made us feel so cared for. We also appreciated meeting the management team—Massiel, Ruben, and Julian—who genuinely took the time to connect with guests. The food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and the entire team exceeded our expectations. Oliver and William were the highlights of our stay, but every staff member was amazing. We came as guests and left feeling like part of the Waldorf Astoria Panama family. Highly recommended!

Hilton Honors Gold. Stayed 4 nights with family in October. Lovely hotel in a great location. Pool was great, gym is decent. Loved breakfast 3/4 nights we had it. Gustavo at front desk was fantastic. Mild Criticism, that I hope Management takes a note of: Housekeeping. Very erratic. On day2, noticed previous guests slippers under bed and some peanut m&ms on floor under bed. One day we left early (on a canal tour and excursion), left green service light on (at like 6:30am) and didn't return till 3pm - Room still hadn't been done. They need a better strategy. Then, next day when it was done: coffee creamers and sweeteners hadn't been replaced. It's not a deal breaker or any reason not to give a 5, but I hope they look at this. Otherwise, RECOMMEND.

This hotel was excellent. I appreciated concierge Oliver reaching out a few weeks before my stay to get more information from me and then him providing me with recommendations. Hotel is in not too bad a location but 10 mins uber from old town (or 50 min walk). Check in was very good and I was helped to my room by the bell boy. I was upgraded to a suite as a diamond member which was appreciated. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable although the pillows a bit small and not what I’d expect from a hotel of this quality. Housekeeping service was of a fantastic standard right throughout my stay. Breakfast was complimentary and had a great selection. The hotel restaurant was also fantastic when I ate there one evening. The outdoor balcony has nice views over the city. Particularly enjoyed the downstairs bar which had attentive staff who remembered my name each evening I came in. The pool was always spotless with staff who were happy to serve you when you approached the bar. Dailin, in particular, was an absolute delight and I hope hotel management read this because she’s a credit to your hotel. Would definitely return to this hotel. Very good!

The service here is absolutely outstanding! Every staff member I’ve encountered, from check-in to the restaurant to housekeeping, has been genuinely attentive and caring. Dalin from the restaurant even remembers my name and room number every morning, which makes breakfast feel so personal. My room is always spotless and cared for with real attention to detail. The only downside is that the room itself is starting to look a bit dated—it could use a refresh with new paint, carpet, and furniture. Still, their service is truly world-class and makes the entire stay exceptional. I would definitely come back!

From my high-floor suite at the Waldorf Astoria Panama, I had a panoramic view of the city — a living canvas of motion and color. The skyline shimmered with light, crowned by the famous El Tornillo (The Screw) tower, twisting upward like a green glass ribbon. I could hear the rhythm of the city below — cars, conversations, and the heartbeat of Panama itself. Inside, it was calm and cocooned. The service here is refined yet personal — the kind of warmth that doesn’t feel rehearsed. Every interaction, from check-in to breakfast, carried genuine kindness and quiet confidence. The staff anticipated needs before I even voiced them, which is rare and deeply appreciated when traveling for business. The rooms are elegant, with thoughtful touches that make long stays feel effortless — perfect lighting, a comfortable work space, and plush details that remind you this is the Waldorf. Between meetings, I escaped to the pool deck — a pocket of serenity surrounded by palms, still water reflecting the sky, and the faint hum of the city beyond. I loved every moment here — from my morning espresso looking out at El Tornillo to evenings when the city glowed beneath my balcony. If you’re traveling to Panama, whether for business or pleasure, this hotel delivers sophistication with heart.

“🌟🌟🌟🌟” We had a great stay, stag was perfect and magnificent. They made our day every day. Everyone from the front seat to the waiters at breakfast. And breakfast was out of this world. What a view and very tasty. Rooms were a little outdated but shower was fantastic, plenty of hot water and they made our stay great with chocolate and champagne for our anniversary. All in all just a fantastic time we will be back. We did have a lot of construction and they stared banging at 0730 every day, it was ok but the staff made it better but definitely not good.

Exceptional customer service, rooms are spacious and clean. Room service is great as well. |Restraunt is a bit pricey and breakfast is $35 per person, where as in Intercontinental hotel across the hotel its $22.|One thing not in their control was construction around the back of the hotel. The noise is bareable but see if you can get room on higher floors.

I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Panamá with my boyfriend for my birthday in September, and it was an amazing experience! I would highly recommend this hotel. The location is excellent—close to restaurants and attractions, many within walking distance. From the moment we were greeted at the airport, the hospitality was outstanding. The bellhops, front desk, concierge, and housekeeping staff were all exceptional. A special mention to Danili, who made breakfast such a pleasure each morning—her warmth and incredible memory truly reflect the brand’s excellence. The rooms were spacious, clean, and exactly as pictured. The food and drink options were very good, and even though the hotel was busy, it remained quiet and relaxing. The only downsides were the water temperature, the water pressure, and the overall appearance of the pool. Overall, I strongly recommend the Waldorf Astoria Panamá to anyone visiting the city.
