So very glad we decided to do this!! What a fabulous place with tons of history. We loved being in the same rooms so many great stars made records.. we loved all the stories that most people haven’t ever heard..especially about Elvis. I highly recommend this tour. A must do thing if in Nashville.

We added this tour with our tickets for the Country Music Hall of Fame and RCA Studio B did not disappoint. Our tour guide, Ron, was very knowledgeable and passionate. From the very beginning of the tour all the to the end Ron was giving us stories, facts and trivia. I highly recommend adding this on and make sure to arrive 10-15 minutes ahead of your tour start time.

Ron, our tour guide is a credit to Studio B / Country Music Hall of Fame. He made the tour come alive, his extensive knowledge and great enthusiasm made it so memorable. Highly recommended tour, just for the experience, hopefully Ron's your tour guide too!

Visited in conjunction with Country museum hall of fame. Absolutely brilliant and atmospheric experience. The guide was so passionate and knowledgeable and explained the stories behind the sessions clearly. Do not miss if you're into music history.

If you love Rock'nRoll and Country, this is a must go. Nicely scripted tour with very knowledgeable guide, playing songs recorded on the Studio B. Take the bus at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Wonderful experience. Very interesting piece of music history. Only complaint is how rushed the tour was. Bought ours with our Country Music Hall for Fame ticket. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, but didn't allow for much time to let what you were experiencing soak in.

This is a MUST! Our guide, Ron, was incredible and had so much history to share with us. We learned a ton about Elvis and many more musicians. We loved being in the actual studio where many famous songs were recorded.

Wow! I was to Graceland years ago and though that was interesting it had nothing on this place. Yes, Elvis's ghost lives in both places, but here you could feel him. Him, along with all the others that have used the Studio to record songs, you probably still here today. The studio is still active today, which in itself is amazing. In between business hours tours are offered and Ron Harman in particular gave an amazing one. He had the amazing ability to connect you to the soul of the place and transport you back in time both through the stories in his voice and through the numerous song samples he had access to. As for Elvis... One was recorded by him in total darkness (Are You Lonesome Tonight?) and Ron brought you back to that moment in the Studio even to where the microphone bump at the very end can still be heard today. There was one that was recorded on 9/11 that Ron says he uses to commemorate what happened on 9/11 so many years later (You'll Never Walk Alone). Come here. You need to book the tour in advance, and it is well worth every minute of it.

My wife and I visited here on our anniversary and decided to do this tour. We were both very hesitant at first but Ron our tour guide helped with his knowledge and his true passion for the tour. He knew his stuff and presented the tour in a way in which you wished you would have been at the studio to witness the recordings in person. Definitely would go again.

Took the tour of studio B. It was cool stepping in a studio that's has created the history of country music. Tour guide Ron was a walking history book of country legends. Don't try to stump him on Elvis or he will embarrass you with his vast knowledge!

This is a really super cool tour that you can get tickets out of the country music Hall of Fame and Museum. They put you on a bus and take you right over. The tour was very interesting and informative. The place just takes you back. You can feel like how it was back then. It's just really cool that Elvis and a bunch of other artists have recorded at that studio. if you are in town this and the country music Hall of Fame are a must!

Really loved this tour! I felt like it was a nice addition to our Country Music Hall of Fame tour. Our tour guide was Matt. I thought he did a great job. Very conversational & had a ton of knowledge. He played a lot of music on the tour. Elvis recorded 240 songs at Studio B. Plus TONS of other artists. Loved the timeline they had up of the history. The sound & acoustic info was really interesting. Matt played a song for us to hear the difference of the reverb in the song. Which was crazy in the 60s, they were able to do that. Studio B itself was different than I imagined. Smaller. But a lot of magic happened there! I loved the info about Elvis requesting different color lights to help him get in the mood for different songs he was recording. For "only the lonely" he recorded it in complete darkness. I didn't know he didn't write *any of his own songs. He definitely chose a lot of good ones. The 1941/42 Steinway was Elvis' favorite. He asked to buy it from Studio B to take to Graceland. But they told him no, because it was the only thing to get him back to Nashville. All in all, highly recommend but especially if you're an Elvis fan!

Get your tickets early! This tour was great! Our tour guide, Debbie, was a wealth of knowledge. She was fun too! I feel like we got the inside scoop. Played at the same piano Elvis played and got pictures! It was beyond amazing!! It was an experience I will never forget!! Don't forget to tip your tour guides!

Our tour was amazing precisely because of our guide Ron. We've never had anyone nearly as knowledgeable and professional. He had an incredible radio voice quality and knew everything there was to know on the studio and artists that had been through it. His steel trap memory is honestly terrifying. I can't recommend this tour enough. Say hi to Ron for us.

We had planned to do just the Music Hall of Fame, but happened to be there a little bit before the Studio B tour began, so we decided to add that on. (You will get on a bus and go to a different location, fyi.) It was a wonderful addition to our experience. Our tour guide was Ron (he's there on weekends), and Ron is one of those people who clearly LOVES doing these tours, and manages to be excited about imparting information that he no doubt imparts multiple times a day, every weekend. I feel like I learned a lot, and came out with a different appreciation for what a single music studio can produce with regards to the volume of music produced in Nashville over the course of multiple decades. And, not a small thing, this studio is still in regular use amongst musicians in the area. Fantastic experience. The Music Hall of Fame itself is a really interesting collection of historical pieces (instruments, awards, crazy outfits, video clips, sound clips), and has enough history and explanation for someone who is not super familiar with country music to enjoy and understand how country music became what it is today. I personally don't know that much about country music, it's not what I listen to on a regular basis, but I had a wonderful time learning about the evolution of the instruments, the ways that country music reached different audiences, and how a genre changes with the culture of American people/what is happening across the country over the course of many decades. Studio B + museum = excellent pair!

Ron really makes the tour come to life. It's unreal that you get to come face to face with so much music history. It's totally different when you get to be in the room.

This was a cool tour. Our guide was really engaging and informative. It was cool to see the place where so many artists have recorded. Watching the videos in the studio and listening to the music over the speakers really makes it feel like you were there when the artists were recording. One of the things I liked the most was the color lighting to set the mood. Apparently Elvis's idea, he liked to have mood lighting depending on if he was singing gospel, country, etc. Being able to take a picture at his favorite piano was really cool too. I would definitely recommend this tour! You do have to purchase a ticket to the Country Music Hall of Fame to go on this tour; unfortunately they don't sell separate tickets. If you're using the Total Access Pass like we did, then RCA and CMHF count as two of the options on the pick 4, so plan accordingly.

Amazing to see such music history. To be able to stand in the very spot Elvis once stood to record many of his hits was surreal. Ron our guide was so knowledgeable and made for a very interesting tour!

My spouse Michele and I are just back from a fantastic 4 day trip to Nashville. Nashville - amazing! We just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to RCA Studio B for an extremely interesting tour - it was fantastic! I would personally like to thank RON who was exceptional! In our 4 days in Nashville - RON was the best tour guide we had - extremely knowledgeable, witty, great with our whole crew of people, and very passionate about Elvis, RCA, the history of music, and some very critical moments for Nashville & music in general. Standing in that studio room and hearing what we did - well it made me a little emotional at times with that much history. Full transparency - RCA was not on my top venue list to see prior to getting to Nashville. I was wrong. Some others like Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman etc were, but RCA was interesting, but not not at the top for me. Having had my exceptional experience with RON & the RCA Tour - I would have adjusted my list of things to see and would recommend you do as well. Put RCA in your must see when visiting! When flying back home we talked about our favourite things we did and this tour was one of them. A big thank you to RON for his love of music and RCA, and for giving us a little bit of that while in Nashville. We are forever grateful. Highly Recommend.

Fabulous tour! Ron is an amazing tour guide with tons of knowledge about the history of the studio, music, and Nashville!

Thirty of us took a :20 bus ride, Danielle our guide gave us background info. We started in the lobby at a timeline. We saw small studios & posed at the piano in Studio B. Dolly wrote thousands of songs here as did Elvis. Interesting discussion of country music remade as rock. Elvis had colorful lights installed to create the mood. The sound in the studio was wonderful.

Cool to see if you're interested in the older Elvis era. I'm very unfamiliar with it so the tour was very informational but also very over my head. I probably wouldn't go back or wouldn't recommend to those who are hoping it's more about modern country music, which was what I was hoping for personally.

Studio B is one of the most popular sites to tour in Nashville. This studio holds a lot of historical music history. Lots of famous singers have recorded here. After visiting Sun Studio in Memphis, I was expecting an old school vibe but the studio was exactly like what I see in LA studios. Street parking was hard, there were a lot of construction vehicles all around the studio. Worth a visit even if you are not touring, just was not as exciting of a site.

Amazing tour led by Brenda! She was very knowledgeable on the history of Studio B and was very pleasant. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Nashville!

3/8/19 Are you lonesome tonight...do you miss me tonight...are you sorry we drifted apart....yes, this is the studio where Elvis Presley recorded his hit music and it houses the original Steinway grand piano Elvis played Amazing Grace. I enjoyed the tour, as a fan of Elvis and as an individual who loves the music during those years. The tour guide had a wealth of music knowledge and was passionate with what he does which made the tour entertaining. It's a short but sweet tour that can be purchased with a Country Music Hall of Fame Ticket. It may be one of those one and done tour but for me, it's worth it going back.

RCA Studio B tour today was so much fun we learned a lot about so many people that recorded at this studio. We got to sit and touch the pianos that Elvis used to warm up on. Did you know that Elvis recorded 1/8 of all his music at this studio? Elvis, I wish you were around today, you are missed. September 11, 1967 Elvis recorded "You will never walk alone". His last song he recorded here was "I'll be home on Christmas Day". Dottie West, Jim Reeves, Dolly, Charlie Pride, Willie are just to name a few of the hundreds maybe even thousands of people that have walked into this studio to record. I WOULD recommend taking this tour, so much history.

Wow. What an incredible place with a such a rich history. We had the most amazing tour guide and felt it was definitely worth seeing. I feel terrible I don't remember her name but she was an elderly lady with long, thick white hair and a real zest for like. Her knowledge and enthusiasm really made the tour worth it. We were able to sit at Elvis's favorite piano and listen to some of the famous hits that were recorded in that room. Truly a magnificent experience. If you are an Elvis fan this is a MUST see!

Well worth paying the (very slight) extra fee at the Country Music Hall of Fame to tour this building. We learned so much about the Nashville Sound, the history of this building and - the best - some of the stories of moments in studio. Loved it! You get here by bus from the CM HOF, and you have to pick a tour time when you buy your admission tickets.

Thank you Ron! Studio B is the recording studio where Elvis recorded all his hits. The whole experience far exceeded my expectations. The reason that it became a highlight of my trip to Nashville was Ron, our tour guide. He is so passionate about the music and the studio, he made us all appreciate the Nashville music scene.

Where legends were made! Let me first say that our tour guide Ron made this so fun and interesting. You can tell he has quite a passion for this! The tour starts before you board the bus to go from the Country Music Hall of Fame with a bit of trivia. Then, on the way over, we learned a few, well more than just a few, artists who have recorded there over the years! When you get there you will see some of the old equipment that is no longer used while you learn some interesting facts about the people who recorded there. At the end, you get to go into the recording studio, stand where the greats recorded, and see the piano we've enjoyed on so many hit songs while learning about the artists who recorded there.

I highly recommend adding the Studio B tour when visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame. We had Ron as our guide and he did a great job. I recently went to see the Elvis movies and he recorded several songs there along with lots of other artist. Elvis recorded one song in the dark so he turned off the lights and played the song for us.

RCA studio B was an enlightening trip. Although I know next to nothing about country music or why Nashville is even this huge hub for music, I still enjoyed hearing about some of the great recording artists and producers from generations past. I was surprised to hear familiar songs by artists like Dolly Parton that I only know as remixed songs. The studio tour is an additional cost to the Country Music Hall of Fame and in a different location. A small bus will pick you up and a guide will be with you that whole time. The tour takes an hour and it flew by because our guide Brenda was so informative and upbeat!

Took this tour on a Saturday with Ron (I think he only works on weekends) and it was amazing. Ron is a wealth of knowledge about Nashville's musical history, complete with a few scattered tidbits that come from his own personal account. His passion and love really made the tour special. RCA Studio B itself is not large and is only a handful of rooms. You do get to see some historic recording equipment and musical instruments with storied histories (like the Steinway piano). The magic of the tour comes from the stories and to actually be in the very place where legends recorded and made history.

Best tour guide ever (Jeff - see photo). He is also a DJ at WSM, and really knows his music. His enthusiasm is infectious - all of us felt energized by him. He also had great stories about the history of the place - really made this tour worthwhile. I was impressed on how intimate the tour is. You get to spend quite a bit of time in the stuio itself, sit at Elvis' piano, see where the singers stood, etc. You take a bus over to the studio from the Museum, and Jeff used the time on the bus effectively to give us the background on the way there, and sum things up and give us the context of the area on the way back. I wish they unbundled this tour from the museum. It's kinda spendy to buy the Platinum package to get the studio tour, but I have to say it worth it.

If you're going to visit the country music Hall of Fame, you should be sure you pay extra to get this tour package. The tour takes about an hour and the bus takes you from just outside the Hall of Fame to the studio. The narrator is excellent and the tour guides are chock-full of interesting anecdotes and stories about all of the stars who recorded here over the years. You won't be disappointed!

***REVIEW FROM AN EXPERIENCE IN JUNE 2015: I just wanted to let everyone reading my review know that even though this review was written in the beginning of 2018; I went to this place in June 2015 (however I am sure if I went to this place again the review would be similar). A few days ago I was talking to someone about places visit in New Orleans because they are interested in visiting the city. I realized that when I went to New Orleans I went to a lot of amazing places but I never wrote Yelp reviews for them because I did not start writing Yelp reviews until the beginning of 2017. I enjoyed many places on my trip and I wanted to share my experiences with everyone even though they are a few years old. So I decided to dig up some old pictures and write the reviews. I would also like to add that most of the experiences I am writing about are places I went to while I was on a guided tour for my trip. I went on a Collette Tour called America's Music Cities. Most of the places we saw and ate at were planned because of the tour. During the tour we stopped at 3 major cities New Orleans, Memphis, and Nashville (and few other stops along the way). I just wanted to let everyone know that since I was on a tour my experiences may have been a little different compared to those who went to these places and were not on a tour (they went on their own) It was an amazing tour and I definitely recommend it.*** This is one of those must see tours if you have the chance in Nashville, especially if you are an Elvis fan. I had a great time learning the history about the studio. It was pretty cool seeing Graceland (in Memphis) and it was cool seeing the place where Elvis recorded some of his famous songs (in a different kind of way). I learned a lot while I was here (not just about Elvis but also music in general). I don't want to give too much away about the history and the tour because it is something I definitely think that everyone should see for themselves while in Nashville. Enjoy! Simona

My wife and I were on vacation in Nashville and we took the Country Music Hall of Fame in, but there is an add-in you can take, the RCA Studio B Tour. Do it! They bus you over to Music Row about a mile away and in this small building, they start you out in the lobby playing great music that was recorded here. Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Elvis, etc. Then they take you into the studio. In the fifties, they had everyone playing at the same time. Everyone didn't have their own track like the current recording system. So if someone messed up, it screwed up the whole take. Fascinating! That is why they had session players that never messed up. Fantastic artists that you have never heard of, but they were in high demand. They still have Elvis' piano in the corner and our tour guide was amazing. She was really into it and made the experience a check off the cool things to see in life. Loved it!

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I highly recommend this tour through the Country Music Hall of Fame. Very informative and getting to see all the history of past and present artists. Studio is STILL doing recordings here. During the tour you get to sit and listen to Elvis and the very piano and room where all the magic happened. Gave me goosies and even got teary eyed when they dimmed the lights and played Amazing Grace. Wow. If you appreciate music at all, do this tour.
