Summer Experiment

Felt like a speakeasy bar, as it was rather difficult to locate, but a friend who goes there regularly introduced it to us and it was pretty ok, only thing was that you needed to climb a few flight of stairs to reach it. The food and service staff were lovely and the cocktail creation pretty colourful i must say. A nice place to chill and get away from the crowd.

Amazing cocktails, very attentive service by staff who notice when you need a top up, our mixologist came over to explain the menu in detail and describe the flavor notes on each page. I couldn't fault any of the cocktails I ordered, they were all delicious. A very unique menu that really helps this cocktail bar stand out from the rest in ho chi minh city.

Summer Experiment is my favorite bar in Saigon. I’ve been here so many times and could always find something – a familiar cocktail that I already know well, or something new and more creative, because their menu has a big variety of choices. No matter if at the bar or at a table inside or outside, I always had good talks with my company because the atmosphere here is kind of young, but not too hippy, and the noise of people talking is generally not too disturbing. Its sister, Layla, is way too loud for me, to be honest. I haven’t ever tried the food here, but so far I’m very happy with my experience with the drinks. The staff are very kind and supportive. I liked the barkeepers and their energy when they were working a lot. So I really enjoyed sitting by the bar sometimes to observe them.

Absolutely love this bar. We just found on Google and happen to come at happy hour. Great drinks of course, but also a very cool vibe! Beautiful decor, furniture, and outdoor space. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Really sweet. They seem happy to be here! Very comfortable place. Wish we could have stayed longer. The Coco Negroni and Picnic with the Tomato - and the chicken bites- were yummy... But I have never seen or tasted a cocktail with squid ink in it and dried squid as a garnish- super fun, creative and delicious! We loved it! Thank you!

Amazing little cocktail bar in Saigon! Saw it on Google and then struggled to find it as you have to go up 3 floors but once inside what a fab bar with the best drinks we had all holiday and friendly staff. Enjoyed the happy hour which ended at 8pm. Value 10/10 Drinks 10/10 Service 10/10

I was surprised by how rude the service here last night. It has been years since my last visit to Summer Experience. It feels like they have Zero customer service training to the staff. I ordered "Diggin' that Soursop" for second round. The waiter came and put in glass in front of us and I couldn't understand his pronunciation of the name. I kept asking can you say it again (to verify if they did not mess up my order). And without explaining what drink was that like a normal service provider, he kept saying the name "Sho Shop" multiple times and MADE A DESPISED FACE at me and my friend. He expected the customer to KNOW and UNDERSTAND and REMEMBER the fancy names of their menu like it was common sense. He was making a fool out of us and seriously looked at us like we were aliens for 1 - 2 minutes. As customers, we were put in an awkward situation where we did not know what we did wrong and humiliated by the waiter. Only until a few minutes, he finally made the efforts of bringing the menu and pointed his finger to the drink with his unchanged judgy and very-not-kind face at us. The other waiters were not that bad, they did not give a welcoming feeling but at least they were not this rude. The drinks were ok. Tailored to suit everyone. The place can easily packed not because they have something special but because it is suitable for the majority. I know a bad review can affect the business at some points but this kind of attitude hurts the business even more than just a review. I do not think I would ever come back here again.

WOW, tucked away on the 3rd floor of the building, Summer Experiment was one of our first stops for cocktails in Saigon and it did NOT dissappoint. The bar is spacious, and wasn't too crowded when we went (although it was late ish on a wednesday). Our bartender's name was Thien and he was friendly, had good english and suggested cocktails to us based on what we liked and even suggested some restaurants for us as it was our first night in Saigon! The menu itself was a work of art! super creative art & design and such unique descriptions of each cocktail. We got 4 cocktails - Miso Martini (SO GOOD. A savory, umami martini with WHITE wood ear which i've never seen) - Bees on your Knees (which came with a cute polaroid lol!) - Caramel Ripple (essentially an ice cream sundae haha) - Mary Me Mary (essentially a bloody mary) all were SO good and unique. Cocktails were around 200-300k each but well worth the money!

The lighting is warm and low, the music is chill without being intrusive — making it a perfect place for a quiet date or deep conversation over drinks. The cocktails here are well-crafted and thoughtfully balanced, with creative twists that still stay approachable. If you're into spirits, they also have an impressive selection of quality liquors, and the bartenders are happy to recommend based on your preferences. Service is friendly but not overbearing, which adds to the relaxed vibe.
