Guido's Original New York Style Pizza Downtown

We ordered a sausage and basil pizza. We got a salt lick, dry-spinach pizza instead with only a few sausage pieces. The salt was to make the spinach mimic basil. Ever had fried spinach and salt on bread? It's nasty. So salty it makes your tongue burn and twist. But...they gave us a coupon for 1 free slice (unannounced and attached to the box), I guess to assuage their guilt. This level of purposeful deception will cost them. Place went to the birds. Best to go elsewhere.

Very smokey and hot inside. Outside was a beautiful night but flies everywhere.. Pizza was pretty tasty (7.8) despite being see-through floppy crust.

Affordable New York style pizza slices where they toss it in the oven to reheat it. I tried a slice of pepperoni and special with onion and olive oil sauce. They encourage folding your slice but offer silverware if you must cut it. Pizza had a crisp crust but lacked a little cheese to get 5 stars. That being said, 2 slices and a soda was under $10!

These guys really pulled through for me when I needed them most! I was in charge of throwing a 60 person party and these guys met my expectations above any other pizza place in Boise. The service was incredible, the pizza was phenomenal and the party I threw was a huge success. Will be spending my money again here very soon!

We really enjoyed the Basil Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza by the slice. The garlic bread is also TO DIE FOR. The prices were great and the pizza was fresh 10/10. FYI: it is thin crust NY style, which is perfection, but definitely not deep dish if that’s your thing.

Heard so much about this place and was severely underwhelmed. First off, the pizza was huge, I loved how big it was and I loved the thinness of the crust, and also the size of each slice. Thats where the good stops. I ordered their red and their white pizza. The red was not too bad, but nothing to rant and rave over like ive seen people do online. It was mid at best. Then came the white pizza, worst white pizza I've ever had. The white sauce was non existent, it was just cheese on dough. Then there was a whole issue with topings. They didnt offer any premium pizzas, just a "base" pizza then you add the toppings you want. The problem comes though when they charge $22 for just a base and then $3 a topping after that, yes even for black olives, or other cheap veggies, all toppings $3 each. I did order online, maybe that was my problem, but still their problem not mine.

This place is a keeper. The pizza is good and filling. The staff working there were stellar in their service. The atmosphere with all the things hanging on the walls give this place a A+ rating. It felt like home and it was my first time being there.

Was really looking forward to the order after seeing other reviews, but the pizza was dry, unflavorful, sauceless, and about the thinnest pizza I've ever seen. Maybe that's how they do it in New York but hard pass next time. I've had gas station pizza better than this. On the plus side, the folks that work there were nice and there was decent service. But the product at the end of the day is subpar at best.

We came down here to have a slice. My husband had ent been in years. He said it tasted just like he remembered. The staff of guys were friendly and helpful. I wanted a combo slice with meat. They suggested the veggie pizza and add the sausage. Soooo good!

I don't know what happened in the last couple of weeks but the food quality has severely gone down. They couldn't even get my one topping pizza right. It was undercooked with the wrong topping and the garlic bread taste terrible. I should've checked the pizza before leaving a tip. This is some of the worst pizza I've ever had.

Pizza is ok. Service is terrible. I order take out and was told it would be right out. I checked 5 mins later and they hadn't even prepared it. I was told it would be out in 8 mins. 15 mins later I ask and the response is "o yeah - it's been sitting here" - terrible cold pizza.

The guy working the cash register yesterday was being short. I also watched him drop the pizza cutter on the floor, it stayed on the floor for a bit, he then picked it up and put it on the shelf. The crew continued using the pizza cutter.

This has to be some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. You can get slices or get a whole pie, but I love the fact that they already have multiple pies sliced up ready to be heated up so you could try different varieties. The flavors are on point. There's not too much sauce. It's not overwhelming. It's the perfect consistency. And the toppings are perfect. The inside of the place has just the right amount of seats. And the staff is super friendly. For three dollars a slice, you really can't go wrong.

Best pizza ever great service and pretty good ambiance. The pizza is thin and great value.

Ordered delivery & left a note asking for ranch. Sometimes DoorDash is weird and doesn't show all the options. Didn't know it was a big deal to ask for ranch. Sheesh.

We went to Boise to see my husband's mother and his sister, and the whole family wanted to go here. We got a large cheese with basil and it was delicious. The servers were so nice and it came out very quickly. What more could you want. It's a great place.

The pizza is very good along with the price. The staff is attentive. They have a decent selection of canned beer also.

As a New York native, I know New York pizza. I've had the best the city has to offer. When we moved to Boise several years ago, we were apprehensive about whether anyone here really knew how to make New York style pizza. Guido's does. More than that--its pizza and ambiance rival Joe's in Times Square. If you've been to Joe's, you know this is a high compliment. From the individual slices to the hip and helpful service to the wonderfully thin (but not too thin) crust, to the incomparable sauce and toppings, Guido's is the real deal. Frankly, it's the only authentic NY pizza in Boise. We've tried the other local places, many of which are food, but nothing comes close to Guido's. We are partial to the simple pies--cheese or cheese with basil. We keep going back to ordering large cheese pies. Keep doing what you're doing, Guido's.

NYC thin crust to a tee. Fresh pies, properly re-toasted. Pretty much a perfect NYC thin crust slice. $4 still a little steep for a slice, but it's top notch. I like the very casual seating and the quick service.

Guido's is a Boise staple. Some of my earliest memories are devouring a pizza slice while looking at the diagram of how to properly eat your New York style slice. I even ate some of the pizza for lunch the next day and it tasted honestly maybe better than the night before. I'm questioning my previous pizza buying decisions of convenience like the dominoes right next to my house. Guido's is definitely the move

Usually a good experience. Complete mess in there. Online order got rescheduled to an hour later without notification. When trying to cancel the employees didn't know the next steps or how to refund me. Unacceptable.

Well, passing through and craving some good pizza, nearby is Guidos, they've got almost 5 stars so I'll give it a try. Well for $32 plus tip this was the absolute WORST pizza I've ever hade. Could only stomach half of it. Thin wet soggy, waaaaay under cooked. Hardly any cheese or toppings and the sauce , what little there was, tasted like Walmart canned tomato sauce. No flavor at all. What a waste of time and money. If you like crappy pizza, then Guidos is for you!!

NYC pizza without venturing all the way out to NYC!! Loved the pizza. I tried the pepperoni as well as the cheese and basil slices. It definitely brought back some nostalgic vibes for me of when I visited NYC and had pizza for lunch 3 days in row. The crust was on point. The cheese had too much slippage from the sauce. Ya, know what I mean? When I attempted a calculated bite, a huge hunk of cheese came flying off instead of gooping away - so I was left with disproportionate bites aka saucey bites left barren from being stripped of cheese. Sure, this could be solved by eating the pizza with a fork and knife, but I feel like a true NYC pizza with a high quality cheese would be something you can grab and go with every bite being perfection.

Such a bummer- we ordered tonight and received a cold pizza. Would have just heated it up as we ordered door dash and saw he had a stop before us, except we got the wrong pizza. Half was supposed to be just cheese for our kids. Now they won't eat dinner because they don't like olives and think pepperoni is to spicy. (It's correct on receipt) Salad is a lame excuse for a salad coming with one cucumber wedge and one tomato wedge with wilted and moist greens but for $4.50 I figured it was too good to be true. We'll keep looking for a different spot to get delivery from.

Love this place so much! New York style pizza is superior, you can't even argue. The pizza here is *chef's kiss*. If you like New York style pizza, or pizza at all for that matter, you need to try it. I love the cheese & basil option, and then adding on my favorite toppings, it just gives it a little something extra. I've placed orders as dine-in, pickup, and also delivery, and it's always great. They are super quick and the price is definitely right. There's nothing quite like dining inside and experiencing the New York City decor while you enjoy your piping hot gooey, cheesy, crispy dream. If you aren't in the mood for an entire pizza, you can order by the slice instead. Either way, I'd recommend you stop in and give them a try!

So yummy! Everything we ate was great! I loved the basil pizza and garlic bread. I cannot wait to visit my daughter again so I can go back.

Absolutely everything one would expect from a place named Guido's! We were just doing an overnight in Boise and this place was highly rated. Well deserved, too. Our pie was huge and awesome. Our pie was a medium pepperoni and it was HUGE. Great crust, great sauce, built just right and the ambiance was perfect!

Pizza & salad was great. Employees were efficient but non-committal. Guido's is downtown, so parking can be a problem depending on day of week and time of day. I ordered takeout - a medium pepperoni with anchovies and fresh tomatoes. Be advised that we're talking New York pizza: thin crust and foldable. It was very tasty, crust was excellent and sauce just the right amount of spicy. Anchovies and tomatoes were sparse though. The pizza was big for a medium and cut into large pieces. And it was still tasty as leftovers. Also had a packaged garden salad with Italian. Very fresh, crisp and tasty. Guys at the counter were efficient, but seemed kinda bored. Not really interested in welcoming the customer.

zero!!! take out was given wrong pizza I should of checked! staff smoking out back do not care. after I got home drove back. given a cold pizza my order. they served the pizza I brought back from home. now wait I've could of done anything to that pizza and still serve it? watched them do it and I told them that was wrong. I will never go there again.

I've eaten these slices for 20 years. I'll never stop. This and Casanova are the best pizza in town.

This out of town traveler got a pizza to go for the hotel. Menu variety was great, pizza was very good. Salad and dressing was very good as well. Great for take out. The restaurant itself was small and crowded and not ideal for eating in. Take out service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend for take-out. If/when I'm looking for a pizza to go in Boise, will again look to Guidos.

I ordered a pizza for pick up last week. When I got out to the car and checked my order, they had made the wrong pizza. Tonight I'm sitting in the restaurant waiting for a pizza they were supposed to be ready 15 minutes ago. The pies are good And, let's face it, this place is a Boise institution, but with the current crew the service really sucks.

Slice of NY in Boise. Always a MUST when we are in Boise. Simple and perfectly yum. Highly recommend. Dine in and enjoy hot and fresh out of the oven.

Yummy pizza, decent prices, speedy service. The slices were pretty big and a lot of people came and went so that's a telltale sign of popularity. It's in a lovely part of town where walking around the streets and making a stop for a pizza slice is perfect.

Guidos is always a go to when we're in town visiting my family. We got to introduce my in-laws to it and they absolutely loved the pizza. Always a great experience!

I've been here twice with groups of people. The food all looked delicious. The menu has lots of Italian options. The waitstaff was great. The venue is very nice. I will definitely come again.

Surprisingly so good, thin, crispy, amazing pizza When I first walked in, the heat hit me and the pizza looked like pie hole so I almost turned around and left lowkey but I'm glad I didn't the pizza here is so good and 3buvks a piece. The service is kinda weird, but the pizza was fast, and a lot of people were coming in an out so it's giving local pizza hot spot

Very solid NY style pizza- it had everything you want in a NY style slice in my opinion- thin crust, well balanced amount of cheese and sauce, and not a ton of meat toppings. The slice was $3 and fairly large- good value. Overall, I would definitely come back after a night out for some late night pizza.

This pizza is amazingly delicious!! If my body would allow it I would eat this pizza on the weekly. We tried the white pizza and it was super yummy. The crust is perfect! The dough tastes freshly made and I believe it's cooked in a pizza oven, at least it tastes like it is. The sizes are huge! We ordered a medium but it was huge, seemed like an 18" pie. I forgot to take a pic so I guess I'll just have to order again soon so I can show you all how yummy this place is!!!

Guidos New York style pizza smelled the part when walking into their store. Their pizza had a really nice crunch to it when you bit into it while having that right chewiness to it; not too thick and not too thin. The only reason I gave them 3 stars was the mediocre service. The staff got our order wrong which was worked out. I was also hoping for more feedback about what to order but the passion for the product didn't seem to be there. The front staff was just more focused on taking orders and cooking.

This is a great New York style pizza shop in Boise. Big pizza oven with a nice selection of slices ready to heat up. Even the cheese pizza is great. You can get pizza by the slice or order a whole pie. The large feeds four easily. Staff has always been friendly.

I've been going to Guido's for almost 30 years, and having grown up eating pizza in Brooklyn, I know something about good pizza. Over the years I've noticed some inconsistency in the quality of the pizza, specifically the thickness of crust. Yes, it's supposed to be New York style thin crust, but there is thin and there is THIN. Today I bought a slice that was not only floppy (as it shouldn't be), but almost thin enough to see through. I brought this to the attention of the one who served it, and his response was that it would get firmer if I wanted it warmer. Really? I noted the historical inconsistency, depending on who's making it, perhaps; he said that the owner was making it today. (No credit to the owner, then; the original owners from New Jersey wouldn't have made this mistake). Now, I should have asked to speak with the owner, but I didn't. I walked out with the slice and finished it. The appropriate response on the part of the staff would have been "I'm sorry you're not satisfied with the slice; can I offer you another one?" So perhaps that is a training opportunity that the staff can be offered. As for the owner, if he is responsible for this irresponsibly thin pizza slice that isn't worth $3.25, he may need to go take some lessons himself.

Pizza was fabulous. Crust was perfect and the slices we chose had lots of flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Our pizza nights are hit and miss at Guido's. Sometimes we get all the ingredients we ordered, sometimes we get something completely different. Sometimes our pizza is sliced, sometimes it isn't. Sometimes our pizza is hot when we are told when to arrive, other times it is just lukewarm. Sometimes the employees support cleanliness, other times I just leave.

Dude, I'm so down for this spot. Little hole in the wall, pizza spot with chill service, cheap PBR'S & outdoor seating. Check Check Check. All the things I love. Everyone working the counter was just the right amount of friendly & helpful. Describing to us what the different options of pizza were. I ended up with an incredible slice that had chorizo, jalapenos & pineapple on it. Ummm YUM. My friend ordered a slice of pepperoni... & the guy serving us felt bad because the piece was "so small." (LOOK AT THE PHOTO) He quickly decided to give us two peps for the price of one. Great customer service. We enjoyed our pizza & beer and people watched outside. I'll def. be back. It's like the adult/chill version of pie hole. (and less grease)

best NY style pizza i've ever had! their veggie pizza is fantastic. super simple menu, but sometimes that's all you need! not every restaurant needs a huge flashy menu, you know? i took one star off because some of the staff seem annoyed with having to serve customers, or they seem bored, or like they generally just don't want to be there. but that doesn't hinder my experience here because nobody's ever rude or mean--just bored. great little pizza joint downtown, and great prices!!!

This is the 3rd time this has happened! QUIT USING CHEAP ASS PAPER PLATES ON TOP OF THE CHEESE ON THE GARLIC BREAD! I have wasted 3 ORDERS that went into the trash not long after our order arrived! The plate stcks to the cheese and tears off onto the cheese making it a paper and cheese mess! If it happens again, ill never return and this is the ONLY place i order pizza from! USE FOIL OR PARCHMENT PAPER! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY ON MY PART

Great pizza. We had it delivered so I don't know about the atmosphere. A large fed two people for dinner and breakfast. Was great the next day.
