The Best MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Istanbul

"To call it the Istanbul equivalent of Times Square isn’t quite right, but it gets the general idea across — this is the city’s main crossroads, the heart of the city’s transit network, and both a commercial and a cultural center. More to the point, it’s adjacent to the famous Gezi Park, and a (pretty athletic) stone’s throw from the shores of the Bosphorus itself. A reasonable spot, we think, for a place that calls itself Gezi Hotel Bosphorus." - MICHELIN Guide

"This sleek, ultra-modern spot takesits inspiration from the linear forms of Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. The Gezi Bosphorus offers a chic and thoroughly striking alternative to the city’s usual Ottoman aesthetic. Cozy rooms have a retro feel with smoked oak and glass used to create warm yet light-filled interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Deluxe Bosphorus rooms have attention-grabbing views of Istanbul’s iconic Bosphorus Strait. The Gezi Bosphorus’ green credentials set it apart and prove comfort doesn’t have to be sacrificed for sustainability. Proudly practically zero-emission, the hotel reuses water in its garden; recycles all papers, plastics, and metals; and produces hot water from excess air-conditioning system energy, making it one of the city’s few hotels to receive Turkey’s Greening Hotel Certification. Just off Taksim Square, staying here puts guests amid Istanbul’s modern city core, steps from the shopping vortex of İstiklal Caddesi but still only a short hop on public transport to the historic quarter of Sultanahmet."

A Wonderful Stay at Gezi Hotel Bosphorus ,Our Favorite in Istanbul! Gezi Hotel Bosphorus truly exceeded our expectations. The location is perfect , just a 2-minute walk from the heart of Taksim Square and the metro station, making it easy to explore the city. Our room was beautifully designed with a stunning view of the Bosphorus ,even from the bathroom! The housekeeping was impeccable, with fresh linens and a thoroughly cleaned room every single day. Breakfast was delightful, offering everything you need to start the day right, with a good variety to suit all tastes. The staff were exceptionally kind, always helpful, and spoke English very well , something that made our stay even more comfortable. A special thank you to the Gezi Hotel team for the lovely birthday surprise! I was greeted with a delicious cake in the room, which truly made my day extra special. This was our 7th visit to Istanbul, and Gezi Hotel Bosphorus is by far the best hotel we’ve stayed in. We will definitely be coming back again. Warm greetings to the entire team, and we wish you continued success in the future. Sending warm regards from Sarajevo!

We had a wonderful stay at the Gezi Bosphorus Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They always checked in to see if we needed anything, and whenever we asked for something, they took care of it right away. The hotel was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We are truly grateful for the warm hospitality and excellent service. We will definitely come back to this hotel again. See you soon! Best regards, Cansu and Mirlinda

We felt at home staying at Gezi Bosphorus. I stayed with my wife and two sons in a beautiful and clean two-story loft with an excellent view of the Bosphorus. The food at the hotel was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. The staff at the front desk were always kind and helpful. I want to highlight Jerry Karoglu, the front desk supervisor, who provided us with excellent suggestions for restaurants. He was always kind and helpful with many other suggestions during our stay in Istanbul. We had a wonderful time staying at Gezi Hotel Bosphorus.

A fantastic hotel, well worth staying at. Jerry Karoglu, front desk supervisor, and all the concierges provided excellent, friendly, advice and service. They went out of their way with kindness. Our room was well appointed, beautifully clean, and welcoming. We appreciated great food, and service from the restaurant staff. A home away from home.

Really excellent stay overall, the staff is great, the location is awesome. We stayed in a junior suite with a Bosphorous view and it was fab- large, comfy bed, nice bathroom with toiletries, lots of space. SPA was great also, we used the gym and spa practically every day and we had it to ourselves for almost the whole time. Food at restaurant is also yummy (same as room service). |Reason i marked it down is because we booked the Gezi as a non-smoking hotel and for 3 days in a row (out of 6) we complained to the front desk due to the strong smell of smoke on the 6th floor. The reply was ‘we don’t know what room this is coming from’. They did spray an anti-smoke spray of some kind, but the smoking issue was very off-putting. They penalize people 50 euros for smoking in the room, which simply will not put some people off. I would recommend that they revise this policy or stop pretending to be a non-smoking hotel. Quite a let down after excelling in all other areas.

Extremely disappointing stay for a five-star hotel. Our room was supposed to be upgraded, but we were given a smaller, different room from what we booked. The shower kept switching between hot and cold water on its own — impossible to shower comfortably. The curtains don’t close fully, so the room stays bright. We only received one bottle of water of 1l per day for a double occupancy room. Considering this is meant to cover both drinking water and making coffee/tea, it is quite limited. On top of that, no coffee was provided the next day, and instead of a coffee machine (as expected in a five-star hotel), they only have a small cheap kettle with instant coffee. The bottle of conditioner in the shower was also empty. There was no iron in the room, which is basic for any good hotel. The lights in the room malfunctioned — even after switching them off, they stayed dimly lit. Overall, a disappointing experience — not worth the price, not up to good standards. I do not recommend anyone to stay here.

The staff at the front desk were all very helpful. In particular Jerry karoglu went out of his way for us. He located a nearby church and determined mass times for us. We had a great time and I recommend the Gezi and Jerry!

Yelp
We chose this hotel during our stay in Istanbul and it was relatively nice !! This hotel is part of the design hotel collection which is within the Marriott portfolio & the hubby is titanium status so it made sense to stay here and use some points Location- was okay! It's near taksim square which is very touristy and it's across the river from the mosques and other sites but I think it was a little cheaper to book this side. Also was a little disappointed with the view. They have both a riverside view and a view facing taksim square. I would have loved the riverfront view instead but we got the taksim view ! The room was quaint but very clean and comfortable! The beds were very nice ! And our room was also very clean, and the housekeeper even folded my Pajamas everyday! And replaced all our soaps! So we definitely liked the housekeeper she was so sweet!! The gym downstairs was okay, pretty small but the place does have a steam room, sauna room, and a small little hammam for use for free of charge for guests so that was fun to explore! We ended up eating sometimes at the hotel restaurant due to time restraints and being tired, and the food was moderate priced. Drinks were more expensive though! The view is decent as it overlooks the river but it's obscured by some trees and buildings since it is on the first floor (which is really the 4th floor) Overall it was a good stay, just wish we had a river facing room to top it all off !

Yelp
Horrible experience! MARIOT platinum member over 70 nights and this was WORST EVER!! Do not be fooled by pics!! Spa is gorgeous but no robe & 1 towel in whole place! I asked and was told people steal so do not provide. Expensive to be bruised (on my face!). Hotel so many broken items: phone(s), coffee maker, no table to use for room service & they do not bring cart. Empty conditioner bottle in shower & 2 shampoo (no body wash). Landscape dead, 1 foot tall weeds, storage used in visible area. Room service menu did not match available food. Worst of all was the attitude when I presented the list. "Thanks so much for your feedback back. Someone will contact you Monday". Still no contact!! Went back Monday, the offered me 1,000 points (worth nothing at any MARIOT!! Will not even get a water!). They do not care about loyalty program, te state of the property nor customer service!! And it is NOT inexpensive!! For less than $100 more- be treated like royalty at Ritz or Park Hyatt!!

Yelp
We stayed here at the beginning of our Istanbul trip. We were supposed to arrive a day later but had a change of plans so we booked one night here. The rooms are a little on the small side but our room has access to a lovely garden and the property itself has a great aesthetic and décor. Breakfast was not bad but dinner options were not great and service at dinner was very slow. Unlikely that we'd stay here again as our experience at the other hotels we stayed at while in Istanbul was much better.
