Athena Grill was an outstanding experience from start to finish! I ordered the fish, and it was cooked to absolute perfection—beautifully seasoned, tender, and flavorful without being heavy. It’s rare to find seafood prepared with such balance, where the freshness really shines through. The sides paired with it were also excellent, complementing the main dish and rounding out a very satisfying meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is charming and welcoming. It has a relaxed Mediterranean vibe, making it a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy good food. The layout is comfortable, and it feels like a spot where you can enjoy both a casual lunch or a nice evening dinner. Service was another highlight—the staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great suggestions and checking in often without being intrusive. Athena Grill & Catering is an absolute gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience every time. The place is great if you just want to have a tasty food, without spending a fortune, and don't care much about the atmosphere. It's a cozy place, but not really fit for a date. I took 3 lamb chops, and they were delicious, and that was a real quality meat for only 32$. Highly recommended.

Athena Grill offers a decent selection of Mediterranean dishes, though my experience was a bit mixed. I tried the fish and chicken dish, which had good flavor but didn’t quite justify the price—it felt slightly expensive for the portion size. The fish was cooked well, and the chicken was tender, but nothing extraordinary stood out. One disappointment was the finger chips. Instead of being crispy and golden, they were soggy, which took away from the enjoyment of the meal. It would have been much better if they had been freshly fried and crunchy. Similarly, the falafels were quite oily, making them heavy rather than light and crispy as they should be. This made them less appetizing than expected. That said, the service was friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant for a casual dining experience. The restaurant has a nice setup, and the staff seemed attentive. If they can improve the texture of their sides and perhaps adjust pricing slightly, it would make for a much better overall experience. Athena Grill has potential, but with a few refinements, it could be a more satisfying choice for Mediterranean cuisine.

One of the best Greek food restaurants in Santa Clara County. Been around for over 25 years. Authentic and flavorful worth ur money 💰. My favorite dish is either their gryo wrap or gryo plate. So much food for a reasonable price. The sword fish 🐟 to their falafel u can't go wrong every taste good here. So do ur self a favor and treat ur self you'll be glad u did

Athena Grill is a fantastic greek restaurant with various halal options. They have a number of dishes that are halal on-request. They are really close to the MCA Masjid, and I've had many positive experiences with friends here before. Note that not all dishes are halal. This review is based on my last meal here with my husband and mother-in-law. My husband got a lamb gyro wrap, and a swordfish souvlaki wrap. My mother-in-law had the lamb souvlaki plate. I had the Biftekia. All of the food came with crunchy garlic fries and the waiter also surprised us with two salads for the table. The portion sizes are generous; my husband was barely able to finish his food, but not for lack of trying. We all had a really good time and the food was great. They have nice indoor seating, but I generally prefer the outdoor seating. If you're looking for good halal greek food, then I definitely recommend Athena Grill.

This place is amazing! Food and service is beyond anything I’ve experienced before. I always get their salmon, rice and Fries. Make sure to try their purple sauce with the fries.

Food, Service = 5 Another 5 star catering service delivery. What started as a repeat extremely satisfied customer order journeyed into uncertainty closed out with validation why Athena Grill Catering will always be one of my go to catering companies, especially for Greek, Mediterranean food. Went to their website to order catered buffet lunch for a board retreat happening the next day in Los Altos. As before site easy to navigate with a variety of options to tailor. The first clue that there might be issues was I wasn't able to see or select my ideal delivery time for later in the day. I thought they were already booked for the time. Then when I confirmed & paid for my order, the interface provided a message at bottom of my receipt that catering orders must be made 48 hours in advance. I did it the night before our retreat. (Made note to self to order 48 hours in advance in future) I was disappointed that the website did not clearly note must be made 48 hours in advance or message before I paid that I was ordering less than 48 hours. After making a decent size order for 9, I went in mode hoping to salvage this order. I sent email to restaurant and left a voicemail that night with intention to call in morning to ensure they can fulfill order or provide a refund if they cannot. I called in morning to leave another message in hopes they check messages before their Saturday opening time of 11am which would not allow enough time to cook & deliver. So while setting up for our retreat and searching for a plan B for lunch the hour before retreat starts at 9:30am, I discovered several missed calls. To my delight it was Lorena confirming that they can complete the order, to call back & that would need to pay $20 to deliverer (lunch delivery is complimentary during weekdays near to their restaurant). She left voicemail and text. When I called back, I thank her and Athena grill for coming through. Fast forward, food delivered in mobile hot boxes as expected on time by a couple, quietly arranged in the back of room, generous serving for 9, and very hot for traveling from Santa Clara to Los Altos. I confirmed with Lorena via text and expressed my gratitude who again was responsive. The food was enjoyed by all. We had salad (crisp w/dressing on side), grilled veggies (chunky cut that were firm not mushy), spanakopita (crisp phylo w/good size filling), vegetarian moussaka (would not miss the meat), rice (loose and more than enough for 9 of us), grilled skewered chicken (always moist), grilled salmon (first time and was good portion), and baklava (tasted home made). One of my colleagues asked if food was Halal, which I think they confirmed. Unsure if correct, so suggest contact restaurant directly. Brought leftovers for Hubby & Dad to enjoy. Made plans to eat at their restaurant so can enjoy other yummy dishes like their lamb. Thank you Lorena & Athena Grill Catering.

Food came out quickly, service was kind and attentive, and it was very nice sitting on the patio for a summer evening meal.

Where do I begin? Well the biggest issue is that most of my food was bland. Rice was good, veggies were ok. Appetizer was a disaster. Spanakopita wasn't flaky whatsoever. Wine was good. Service was good. I tried some of my partner's food and it was so so, I little overpowering on the anise, bland as well. Overall it was good service but food was not the best. THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS 4.6.

Athena Grill Catering is one of THE best Greek/Mediterranean food services I've ever experienced. My office recently hosted a group of Brazilians and were wondering what was going to appease their palates. We went with this company and were completely impressed with the service and quality of food. The delivery came 15 minutes earlier than expected which meant the food was going to be lukewarm by the time we fed our group. However, being extra punctual is never bad and we had asked for an early delivery regardless since 99% of the time they are late. So kudos to Athena for really pulling through with our order. We ordered some large trays including Greek Salad, pita/garlic bread and hummus, grilled vegetables, chicken, beef skewers, and baklava for dessert. Their pita bread here is divine and stayed fluffy throughout the lunch hour as our guests ripped and dipped into the hummus. Their chicken appeared fairly basic (and potentially dry) at first but we agreed that it exceed our expectations- so good. The best part were definitely the beef skewers. The meat was cooked medium-rare and well seasoned. I'm so used to overly salty catering but they really pulled through and delivered some delicious entrees. We had so much food leftover that we were begging for participants to take some home with them. If my office worked closer to the South Bay, I would not hesitate to recommend more lunches be catered through Athena because it was absolutely worth it. Five stars for some amazing food.

Fantastic catering for our office lunch. I was able to order with ease through their website. They were also comfortable with questions and changes. The catering manager was pleasant and professional in handling queries over phone. The food arrived on time with well sealed trays. Each item was well marked, cooked perfectly and tasted great. Everyone in our team came to me and said that the food was great. I definitely recommend this place for our office or family holiday catering.

I ordered for 21 men at a engineering company. They all complained about the meat pieces being so small because I told them they could only take one chicken and one beef skewer. I called Athena to address my concerns about there being enough food prior to the order arriving and they told me there should be enough, that sometimes the cooks throw in some extra. For the price I paid for 21 people with tip, right under $500 the skewers should have been longer. Just a couple more pieces to each skewer would have been perfect. My guys were still hungry. I was so disappointed. I feel like Athena was stingy with the portions for the price!

AMAZING food, delivery, and service! We ordered from Athena's Grill for our rehearsal dinner and it was one of the best choices we made for our entire wedding weekend!! We ordered using their online portal and chose 36 meals from their catering packages. The choices were awesome and we went with the souvlaki chicken, gyro, grilled vegetables, rice, assorted dips, falafel, salad, and baklava. Everything was so delicious and they were so kind with our vegan needs -- They were able to make the rice vegan to ensure our guests had enough options! Also, the baklava's are so fat, they are overflowing with goodness! Where they went about and beyond was the man who did the delivery. I am so sad I did not catch his name but he was SUPERB. He not only arrived early to our destination, he helped set up the buffet and took charge when we had no idea how to set up the chafers we had rented (from a different company). 10/10, this man was so efficient, helpful, kind and professional. I would absolutely order from Athena's Grill and Catering again!

After checking out catering options for a party with 15 guests, Athena had the most transparent pricing and efficient process for ordering. They also called me the day of to confirm pickup time which was very reassuring since I was stressed about anything going wrong. My order consisted of the following: Assorted Dips & Spreads Sliced Pita & French Bread Falafel Appetizer House Salad Chicken Souvlaki Tri Tip Grilled Vegetables Rice Pilaf Baklava & place settings My personal favorite was the Tri Tip! My guests loved the chicken as well, it was the first to go. I would definitely recommend Athena Grill for catering your next event!

Hear ye! hear ye! Health minded eaters and anyone on the vegan "spectrum" listen up: Athena has a vegetarian friendly menu even if it's not obvious in print. They have an unbelievable falafel that you should order with a nice beer or wine. they are open during Covid since they have a nice breezy shaded patio area.. Appetizers? Double check first but I believe they make their dolma dish in olive oil without animal stuffings. It was to die for. Don't miss out on that tidbit. awesomeness. drinks? the beer/wine selection is not bad ! As always, in this type of restaurant, specify that you are vegan instead of just trying to ascertain what ingredients a dish will using. Enough restaurant staff know what vegan means and they can alert you to ingredients you may not have considered were inside certain dishes. That's especially true at fancy places like this. I believe I would've added that fifth star if it was obvious that the restaurant made certain dishes vegan. I'd love to see a little plant leaf icon next to the listings so that we know it doesn't have any objectionable animal products in it. A lot of restaurants in the big cities are doing that these days. I understand that it is a creative choice on their menu; so too are there creative choices in yelp reviews.

The food was ok. I paid $17 for a chicken souvlaki plate and got only one skewered. I specifically wanted to go here because of their gluten free menu. When I went to order the employee didn't even know what gluten was. After I told her I will get very sick if I eat gluten or even cross contamination of it, she still let me order a sauce with gluten. The manager saw this and corrected her. She also took out the rice because she thought rice has gluten. I think that if a restaurant is going to advertise themselves as gluten free than they should teach their employees what it is and what food has it. Definitely stay away if you also can't eat gluten. I'm definitely not going back.

I love Mediterranean food and Athena Grill is ok for me. Nothing bad but nothing good either that Makes me want to go back again. We ordered multiple items from the menu to plan for an event (we are searching for a Mediterranean food to cater) and thought this might be a good spot. Its ok but not what we expected.

We catered with Athena for our company's pre holiday party. It was so delicious! Except... I drove there to get the food and they forgot the hummus dips! Not sure what that purple sauce is but it was so yummy! The food was great as well. We called them to let them know the hummus dips were missing and they drove back to give it to us. Everyone enjoyed :)

I've been coming here for years. The food is always pretty good. But I have noticed that when the owners are not their things seem to be slacking. I took my lovely wife to eat here the other day and the garlic fries we always order did not taste the same. They were lacking both in flavor and freshness. Perhaps it was just an "off" day? IDK. Our sandwiches were good as usual. The dessert Baklava was not fresh and was on the dry side. It did not taste the same. I was disappointed. The service was good and attentive. The Asian man (name?) working there made sure of it. However, there seems to be an Overly Friendly overweight man from Mexico with a mustache that always and I mean Always goes out of his way to stop by at our table to greet my wife. Not once has he acknowledged me. Just her and it's getting rather annoying. He makes her feel very uncomfortable and I don't like it. He speaks to her in Spanish but she does not understand him, but I do (took Spanish in College). I go by the rule 3 strikes you're Out. I have tolerated his behavior long enough. The next time we go eat there I will have a little surprise for him. He will meet this not so nice after all, well-mannered gentlemen. I do believe it's time to let him know my wife and I do NOT appreciate his flirtatious bullshit. He creeps her out. She doesn't want to return back to Athena's but it's me who likes the food so she goes along. Mexican man with a mustache and big belly needs to be reminded to stay in his lane, be respectful of Athena's loyal Cliental. If this does not get cleared up quickly, I hate to say but Athena's will be losing one of their longtime loyal Customers and I will not keep this to myself. I will make sure all my business associates, clients, large family, friends, group members and whoever else will listen to me is aware. I'm pretty sure if the owner was aware of what was going on with one of his employee's he would put a stop to it immediately. I do understand that they can not be there all the time. I had them catered my office party last week. I was a little skeptical at first since there were a lot of back and forth with too many people interacting with exchange of conversations. Yet their food was amazing. I was worried at first that the food and order would be a catastrophe since our communication was. We changed from hosting 60 people to 100 people for the event and they had someone there assisting. Setting up, serving and tear down. They were professional. Food was amazing especially the chicken skewer! No one was sick after the event and everyone complimented on the food! Most definitely would recommend using them!

Best part of my job is when my company orders lunch for everyone. Worst part is when they order lunch and it's horrible! I recommended Athena Grill to our office manager, who made our first order about 8 months ago. I didn't tell any of my coworkers I recommended it until they started asking the office manger how she found the place. At that point, she told everyone I recommended it and the odd thing is that I probably got more compliments that day than my entire 2 years there. Athena Grill is awesome! For what we pay, this is by far my favorite place for our catering orders. Compared to other restaurants, their portions are HUGE. The food is delicious. My favorites are the chicken kabobs and lamb. Make sure you get extra lamb as that generally goes the quickest. We've tried a lot of things and you can't really go wrong with anything. Usually when you get large quantities of food, there is always a drop off in quality. However, I'm pleased to say there was no drop off here. Taki, who's the owner always delivers the food to us. He makes sure everything is setup and organized for us. So often, caterers just drop off food and drive off. I think Taki takes great pride in his service and it shows. We're about 60 people and we generally order once a month. If it were up to me, I'd order more often. I'd really recommend this place if you want to be the office catering hero.

These guys just saved the day. We came up to Sillicon Valley area from Los Angeles to try and close some serious business, I had been to the Athena Grill restaurant once before and was really impressed with how flavorful their food was, needless to say I was excited to find out they also did catering. The presentation was phenomenal (even their pita bread remained soft and warm). They were right on time and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful all through out. Personal favorites were the Tirokafteri, Salmon Filets and Beef Gyros. Thanks guys!

Taki and his crew at Athena grill go out of their way to really make your event special. We knew that we wanted Athena Grill to cater our wedding, but we were worried that it was pretty far away. We reached out to Taki and he said no problem...we can do it! Before we could even talk about menu planning and the like, he invited us over for a tasting. He really rolled out the red carpet for us and tailored the menu to what would work best for our event and the travel time to the wedding (about an hour away). On the day of, Taki arrived and set everything up. He carefully monitored all of the dishes on the buffet, helped our guests with questions on the food, and even packed the leftovers up. The best part of the entire thing is that he just did it...we didn't have to ask for anything. It took such a tremendous amount of stress out of our event. All the food was incredible. Everything was hot and delicious. We had a ton of compliments from our guests (many of them who said that this was the BEST wedding food they have ever had). Taki even made sure that all the items that the food was being served in looked good...and it did. I doubt anyone would have guessed how much we spent on the food...it had to look like we spent way more. I can't recommend Athena Grill Catering enough. They really made our wedding special. Came here for a business lunch and the owner was personal and friendly. the place was packed, we ordered and the owner reserved a table for my customer. Our food came promptly, and the servings were huge! Everything we ordered tasted GREAT! I had the Lamb Gyro wrap, my client had the stuff eggplants it was their lunch special. We were full and satisfied. Definitely coming back!! Go check them out in Santa Clara. This place is Yummy! Street parking only :)

Have ordered there many times for corporate lunches 10-25 people and they are great with serving that amount of food for few people. Most catering places require minimum of 50 to order. Food is always tastes great and fits the requirements of all my eaters (Halal, vegetarian, low carb)

Absolutely the best! I work for a very large high tech company and used their catering service for over 2yrs and they have yet to disappoint me. I have ordered for 25ppl to 400ppl. Taki is wonderful to work with and very accommodating. As for the food, it is always delicious, never a doubt.

I have been using Athena Grill to cater corporate events for over 2 years now. At my previous company we had 300+ employee's on site, and the catering team was always very accommodating, friendly, and on time. Our selections were always delicious, reasonably priced, and we never ran out of food for our groups. I joined my new company 3 months ago, and have already had Athena in for a company luncheon. The food was an instant favorite, and I have no doubt it will be requested by my new colleagues going forward. As long as I work in the area, I will continue to order catering from Athena Grill, Their service and quality is second to none.

Right before my predecessor retired she said this restaurant is one of the Company favorites. To find a restaurant where everyone enjoys the food with no complaints is no small feat with this office. Taki the Catering Director is awesome and always responds to my (multiple) questions and changes quickly. The Tri Tip (Moschari Psito) is amazing. Both of the chicken dishes that I have ordered (Chicken Souvlaki and Reganati) are phenomenal. All meats are always cooked perfectly, even with ordering for nearly 100. Everything is cooked perfectly including the rice and grilled vegetables. They don't skimp on the portions either. Thank you all so much!

YUMMY! One of our favorite restaurants in the south bay and so it was an easy choice to include them in our wedding catering. Everyone LOVED the moussaka, chicken kebabs and spanakopita. Such a friendly and easy group of people to work with. Highly recommended!

Our office loves Athena Grill! We tried the salmon this time and OMG it was delicious. Their sides are the only thing I would improve on- pasta is just penne and sauce, veggies are okay, garlic fries get soggy fast, spanakopita is not the best. But their meats, sauces, and bread is amazing!!

Athena Grill Catering was a lifesaver for my catering needs this week! I was put in charge of a corporate lunch and learn at the last minute and Athena Grill was able to accommodate my needs. I requested a (desperate) quote from them and Taki, the owner, called me within 5 minutes of receiving my email, before their hours even posted, to touch base and confirm they could handle our needs. Food was delivered on time and the delivery agent helped set it up, utensils and serving dishes all included and making our presentation a breeze. The food was delicious, the team helped recommend options that fit dietary needs and the property managers we worked with loved it (and the break from ho-hum sandwiches)! I highly recommend working with Athena grill for your next event.

I stopped by Athena Grill the other day when I was in town, and I was super impressed with the quality of food and the friendly employees working there. Mediterranean food as good as I've had in the Bay Area. I'll definitely come back.

Athena Grill catered our company lunch meeting and my only regret is not having used them before. Their food is amazing, the service is 5 star and just as important, they were on time. Everyone loved their food and we have a diverse group of vegetarians, seafood only types and serious meat eaters. Do yourself a favor and have these guys cater your next event. Stop ordering boring food and get Athena Grill to deliver the goods!

I had Takis cater my Mayweather- Pacqiuao fight party and it was a hit. I've always been a huge fan and customer of Athena Grill Restaurant and the catering is just as good. True Mediterranean food should be healthy and fresh and simple, and i should know I am Egyptian. Athena grill is all that and some (Halal). I will be using Athena for my next company party 100%.

So disappointed! I had heard the food here was authentic and delicious but the food was mediocre and not so great. We went on a Friday night had the Greek salad which was fresh, dressing was ok, and the feta cheese flavor just ok. We also had the beef giros with fries. The beef texture and flavor wasn't anything like what I'm use to. It didn't have a lot of seasoning and seemed to have so much fillers that it didn't taste or chew like beef giros. The fries were old not crispy and fresh but cold and soft. Wont be back there are too many better places!

Catering at its finest! I frequent Athena Grill for the past two years and finally tried their catering services earlier last month. The gal that answered the phone was super helpful: I told her how many we needed to serve, our dietary needs/preferences and most importantly that we wanted it warm and fresh. I don't how how many times we have tried catering at our office for the food to arrive cold or dried out. The phone call last all of 5 minutes and on delivery date they were prompt and the food quality was excellent! It met all of our crazy software developer needs (vegan, vegetarian, halal, paleo) and everything was super fresh with plenty of variety. If you need catering, I'd highly recommend Athena Grill!

First time here, I was craving hummus and falafel. My fiancée's first time trying greek food and he cleared the plate. The dip trio was awesome, and we scarfed down the pita bread with the fresh hummus before the other dips even came out. The baklava was the perfect end to a great meal! Our server was patient and polite; we had a great time and will be back for sure!

We hired Athena Grill to cater a memorial service in Santa Clara last week - and we are so happy with their food, service and commitment to us. It was last minute planning, since the memorial service was due to a sudden death in our family. Planning when grieving sucks, to say the least. I sent an inquiry email via Yelp and Taki was the one of the first to respond and was so accommodating and helpful. We did talk to other caters but the pricing per person and the proximity to the venue, couldn't be beat. He invited us over for a tasting at their restaurant a few days before the memorial service and they gave us full servings of so many entrees and sides to try, and we went home with 8 to-go boxes! Prior to the event, we went over the menu and timing over the phone and it was easy peasy. Taki was really flexible with us on the menu and options. And we needed someone on site to oversee and again, Taki was able to accommodate even though they had other deliveries. On the day of, things were hectic, as you can imagine... but Taki and team showed up and set up the buffet bar seamlessly... and there was so much food! Taki brought to-go boxes and smaller trays for us to use to take the food home. We had chicken and beef souvlaki, along with salmon - which were all a big hit. Although, I think my favorites were all the different types of hummus and dips for the pita and bread. If you're looking for something easy (they come set up and take down), delicious and honestly the best deal in town, you should check out Athena Grill!

Brought my family here for a birthday celebration for my now late husband, the staff was outgoing and helpful and brought a cheerful vibe to the occasion. The food was great as well! My least favorite part was having to leave.

I have never had Greek food before in my life. My coworkers were telling me that the fresh outstanding quality of Athena was where I should try my first taste of Greek cuisine. They were not wrong at all! This place is amazing. The service was very attentive and polite, they helped me pick out something that I would enjoy best. I tried the Lamb Pita. I've had lamb at other places, and it is hard to cook, but these guys nailed it! The quantity of food I received made me feel like a certified roman gladiator! I was stuffed for the whole afternoon. I would recommend this place hands down for first timers and Greek food connoisseur alike. You wont be disappointed.

I work for a charter elementary school and we along with parents decided to coordinate a lunch for our staff for valentine's. One of the mother's recommended this restaurant to cater our lunch. Not only did they have their cooks come in earlier in order to deliver our lunch on time, but the service was great. Our staff really enjoyed the variety of food and the quality. I am not a fish person but I had 3 servings of the salmon which was delicious. All my staff raved on how good the food was. We will definitely keep them in mind for other events. Athena Grill is amazing. Every time I use them to cater an event at work or a party at home, everyone raves about the food. Everything is delicious and super fresh. (I especially love their salmon.) I had Athena Grill cater a bridal shower I threw at my home for about 15 guests in August. Athena delivered the food exactly on time, and the food was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed lunch, and I enjoyed not having to worry about making all the food. I would definitely use them again!
