The ambiance is excellent—you don’t feel like you’re in Texas. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting family-friendly atmosphere. We ordered the lunch special and chose the Cajun chicken. It was moist, and the sauce was wonderfully flavorful. The special includes soup, salad, and fries, making it a great value. For appetizers, we had the fried oysters and mushrooms. Both were delicious, full of flavor, and not too heavy. The shrimp barbecue is a must try appetizer . We will definitely bring the whole family next time. Excellent experience!

Short review; This place portrays itself as fine dining but feels like an elevated Cheesecake Factory. They gave me a dirty used plate. Food was technically cooked correct but I expected more flavor from an upscale restaurant. Servers aren’t able to differentiate the temperature of steak. Dress code isn’t enforced, seen plenty of people in sandals, t-shirts and baseball caps. Overall, It’s giving prom night energy; dress up, take photos, and pretend it’s upscale. Detailed review; The place definitely tries to come off as fine dining, but honestly, it felt more like a fancier Spaghetti Warehouse or an upscale Cheesecake Factory. The food was cooked properly, I ordered the steak frites and it came out at the right temperature; perfect example of textbook cooking. It was done well in terms of technique, but it just didn’t have much flavor. I was expecting something more, especially from a spot that presents itself as high end. Service could’ve been better. The server mixed up my steak with my partner’s and couldn’t tell the difference in temperature, which made it seem like they lacked experience. When it came time to leave, my food wasn’t packed up; I had to do it myself. At a place trying to be fine dining, that’s not something I expected. Also, the underside of my plate still had food stains, like it wasn’t fully cleaned. And while the website made it sound like there was a strict dress code, that clearly wasn’t enforced. I saw multiple people wearing baseball caps, t-shirts, shorts, and sandals.

Stopped here with my wife for lunch because I was in the area. Our waiter was really nice and social. I got the crusted fish, forgot the exact name of the dish, a salad, a crab cake and one other item. My wife got a couple of things as well. Overall the food I ate was fantastic and a 5 out of 5 for sure. The only thing I will say was it took an overly extremely long time for the food to come. Almost to the point to where we were sitting there wandering and tracking did that table come after us and get food before us. Or even thoughts came to our head, should we just ask for our check and go. The food took a very very very very very very very very very very long time to come out. Other than that everything else was five stars.

We came here for dinner and grabbed a seat at the bar — and wow, the food was incredible. We were seriously impressed. The blend of New Orleans and Texas flavors had us curious, but the team absolutely nailed it with every dish. Reservations fill up fast, so I definitely recommend booking ahead if you want a table.

Enjoyed a night out with family. This place immediately became a favorite. Great ambiance, drinks made correctly with just the right stiffness on the Vieux Carre! The fish and beef are excellent and I would go back just for the creamed spinach.

It was my fathers birthday, and having seen this place while walking around Snyder Plaza + the IG videos I chose to bring my dad to Jack & Harry’s for his birthday dinner Made reservations at 8:30, and they needed a little extra time to get us a table which was fine and we got seated. I know this isn’t the restaurants fault, but it was LOUD. LOUD LOUD LOUD. We spent the entire evening shouting at each other to carry a conversation. Ordered fried calamari, and it took 20 min to come out. Our server wasn’t around to let us know it was coming out soon, sorry for the wait, etc etc etc. and for $22nI was disappointed with the portion size of what we got, but it tasted great and the dipping sauces were tasty. We ordered our entrees, and I started a stopwatch to see how long our food would take. I told my girlfriend that if our food wasn’t there in 20 min I’d complain to a manager to find out what the hell was going on especially with it being Ramadan and that I hadn’t eaten all day long. 3 of the 4 entrees we ordered arrived a shade under the 20 min, which made me wonder how 3 meals took the same amount of time as 1 appetizer. Then my mom’s meal arrived and our sides and we dug in. The food was a 10/10, minus the sauce on the steak frites which was a little sweeter than I personally like. We all loved our food, shared some bites, and enjoyed it. With it being my dads birthday, and the fact that we spent $250 you’d think they’d give a dessert for free but they didn’t, and they also didn’t have bread or something to munch when we sat down. Again, the food was 10/10 but for how much we were charged I’d think the service would be exceptional. Chick Fil-A is my bar for customer service, and this wasn’t even half of what I expect. We had to constantly ask for refills on our water, our waiter was nonexistent, and the food coming out took way longer than I feel it should’ve made the evening a little less spectacular than you’d think for a meal that cost $250 especially when I said we were celebrating.

Google
Impressive place. Easy parking, friendly staff, fast service, great menu. Recommend the stuffed mushrooms and bbq shrimp (if you get both you won’t have much room for the entree). The poached fish is weak but the pan fried sole is delicious. The redfish was just ok. Great cocktails! Our server was excellent.

I had a reservation for 6 people to celebrate my birthday. The staff were VERY helpful. The recommended food was nothing less than GREAT.

Yelp
I love seeing new restaurants in Snider Plaza! It is such a great community space for all ages and seeing fresh spaces open is always so exciting. The feel is so lounge, classy with an older feel, LOVE! The bar is beautiful, the staff has always been very kind and the food is very good. However, it is not as good as the price demands. The martinis are incredible, and their FRIES are the best. I have been in several times just for those two things and regret nothing. I really hope this place stays!

Nathan R.

Yelp
I left a review that seems to have been removed. Basically overpriced. It would cost $180 to enjoying a dinner for one. That would be a nice steak, salad maybe 2 drinks and a dessert. Great food, great ambiance, just too pricey.

Alex G.

Yelp
I hate to do this but the service here killed the review for me. The food was delish and I love the old style classy vibe this restaurant gives off, however, our waiter was very un attentive, rude and seemed eager to rush us out. I was taken back when I asked a simple question about removing onion from the mushroom appetizer and being cut off mid sentence and looked at very cut throat by our waiter and said "NO" immediately. I have to say a simple no without the attitude would have helped. Also, we had to flag down our waiter for simple water and we kept seeing him go to other tables behind us with a perfect attitude and water. However, on a positive note this is the food breakdown 1. Steak - Rare 7.2/10 2. Branzino - 8/10 3. Lobster Mac - 10/10 4. Oyster - 2.5/10 - They were shucked all incorrect and I have cut on the roof of my mouth due to shucks 5. Wine & Martini - 8/10 I would come back under different circumstances to try out the other dishes.

Yelp
I've had my eye on Jack and Harry's since they opened earlier this year. I love a good Steak Frites so i just knew i had to get here as soon as possible. This is a swanky looking New Orleans inspired joint in Snider Plaza. Simple but elegant from the outside, all the intimate, cozy vibes on the inside. From the moment you step in, you are so well taken care of. The hostess was so sweet and welcoming, we were seated right away. Definitely recommend a reservation unless you are sitting at the bar maybe. Katie was our waitress and she was such a delight! Always checking on us, kept us laughing and was just very attentive despite how busy they were. Everything was absolutely outstanding!! We started with the BBQ Shrimp to share for the table. This is served with a roux and rice similar to gumbo so there is plenty to go around. Caesar salad - delish but a little pricey at $16. I would order it again though. Now for the main course, Steak Frites!! Cooked to perfection, topped with a mountain of shoestring french fries and a smooth velvety, creamy herb sauce. To die for!! We didnt stop there. we devoured not one, but two Creme Brulee for dessert. Soooooo good.

Hannah R.

Yelp
Cool restaurant with a vintage New Orleans decor. There's a pretty big horseshoe bar in the middle of the restaurant that can unfortunately encroach upon tables that are set along the sides of the space. The steak frites are perfection and the rib eye was also very good. Thomas, our waiter was amazing, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Andrew W.

Yelp
The ambiance in this place is great! Very well decorated and busy for a week night! Everything started out well, great and quick service. Appetizer of the oysters and our martini were all delivered quick and hot. Both were delicious. Our entrees were also great. The crust on the steak frites and the sauce on top was delicious. The steak frites were great with the exception that I had a long hair in my fries. I was enjoying the meal spectacularly until then. After that it seemed to go downhill. It took a long time for us to be able to order dessert. When we did they brought the wrong one so then we wait for the right dessert to be brought. The cheesecake tasted fantastic! Again, it took us a long time to get our bill and we were charged for that incorrect dessert that they brought out. Throughout the 2nd half night our water glasses were consistently low or empty. The food was great (with an exception) but the service felt lacking. I would return but would likely go somewhere else before I went back here again.

Yelp
I came here on a date and this place was popping. It was crowded but in a fun way. The bar constantly had people rotating and most tables were full. Definitely take out a reservation if you want to come here. This place has a magnificent New Orleans style that seems like out of a movie. My date and I got the crawfish beignets as an appetizer and then for my main I actually had the barbecue shrimp from the appetizers. It is plenty of food for a person's meal. It comes with rice and bread as well as 4 full sized shrimp in a beautiful sauce. My date got what Jack and Harry's is known for the steak and frites. He loved the place so much he's been trying to go back ever sense.

Marie N.

Yelp
Had a great time dining at Jack & Harry's. The restaurant is great for a date night or a little group dinner. It can get a little loud though. Our favorite appetizer was the bbq shrimp, it's like a Cajun gravy with huge prawns and rice and bread. The stuffed mushrooms and the truffle Mac and cheese were also good too. The steak frites had a huge pile of horse string fries crisped to perfection. My medium rare steak was amazing and also the sauce on top. For $40 bucks it's a pretty good deal. We ended the night with dessert and the visuals were crazy. The banana foster cheesecake was decent, it's more of a grainy cheesecake compared to a NYC styled one. The ice cream sandwich was far better and reminded me of an adult ice cream sandwich. Service was great and nice. Would come back with friends for sure.

Taylor K.

Yelp
Fantastic, savory, decadent meal perfect for a date night. The ambiance needs a little work - it's extremely loud, the waiting area is small and crammed into the coat rack, and the bar has no room for those waiting to grab a drink.

Megan M.

Yelp
We celebrated a birthday here and had a wonderful experience! The food was incredible! Christian was an amazing server- he has great recommendations. We were shown our table 30 min after our reservation time, but treated us to an appetizer and dessert for the delay. They went above and beyond. Excited to come back!

Skyler M.

Yelp
Went here for a celebration dinner. This is the 3rd time I've eaten here and sadly each time things get worse. Many previous hit items from the menu are now gone. What is remaining is lackluster. We ordered the $73 prime rib and it was TOUGH. Steak knife had trouble cutting through it. Not worthwhile in a city with so many other great options. Also the noise level is extremely loud - perhaps because it was a busy weekend. 2 stars offered due to the good service.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Came by for lunch. Love the vibe in here. My dirty martini was super cold and perfectly dirty. My husband and I shared the french onion steak, steak frites, and a side of corn. The steaks had amazing flavor and I loved that the fries were so thin. The corn was just ok. I would come back IF I was in the area.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
When you walk in it's quite loud but the decor is gorgeous. We were late for our reservation but they were able to seat us in their full dining room. Our server was so sweet and attentive, she helped us through the menu for our first time. Made recommendations and offered us new drinks when we said we didn't enjoy our original choice. We went for our sister's birthday and got a two small salads while our sister went all out with their delicious steak frites. The Harry's Salad was super fresh and delicious! We were obsessed with the white truffle crayfish Mac and cheese that was big enough to share with the 3 of us. Also got an extra side of frites (fries?) and it was a great portion but it was stacked so high on the dish I didn't even see it came with a sauce under all the frites! Amazing experience!

Marlen J.

Yelp
Starting this review by saying this place is so elegant yet cozy and the food was delicious. Upon arrival, our table wasn't quite ready, so my fiancé and I decided to sit at the bar. We ordered dirty martinis, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've had in Dallas. Our server was exceptional as she was very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients, and offered great recommendations. The steak tartare was a standout, served New Orleans-style with all the right accoutrements. Both of our steaks were cooked to perfection--juicy, flavorful, and exactly as we requested. Although we didn't opt for dessert, the espresso martini was a unique twist that you won't find in many places. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and the prices felt fair for the quality. We left Jack & Harry's feeling both satisfied and impressed. We'll definitely be back soon to try more of their offerings.

C C.

Yelp
Was expecting to be disappointed. So pleasantly surprised, I'm back for a second straight night for the french onion filet. Unusual and delicious. They must have spent a fortune on the bathroom floors.

Yelp
Jack & Harry's is a New Orleans themed restaurant located in Dallas's historic Snider Plaza. From the same team that brought us Hudson House, you won't have to travel far to get great flavors imported straight from Bourbon Street. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Not only are the flavors imported from New Orleans, but Jack & Harry's successfully captures the essence of the historic city. The brick walls and green awning like glass is complemented by jazz music playing in the background. At the center is Jack & Harry's most impressive attribute - it's bar. Surrounded by ornate seating and plenty of patrons, the bar organically welcomes you in. 1 Star. Service - Amazing. Hudson House is known for excellent service, and Jack & Harry's is the same. All servers are immaculately dressed and know the menu inside and out. And while our initial server, Christian, was delayed, he was a true professional and made sure we had an outstanding experience. 1 Star. Food - I'll focus on two dishes: the BBQ Shrimp and the Steak Frites. The BBQ Shrimp was as good as Emeril's. The shrimp was plump, and the "BBQ" sauce was savory with a hint of smoke and sweet. It was perfectly paired with dirty rice (which I thoroughly mixed together). The delicious dish also came with toast points which my children quickly commandeered so I didn't get a chance to taste them. My main dish was the Steak Frites. This is a tender hanger steak topped with an herb sauce and fries. The steak was perfectly grilled, but the fries. Oh my. Perhaps the best fries ever topped on a steak. Just look at the photos, describing it here won't do it justice. The only knock are the prices. It's not cheap, but it sure is good. 1 1/2 Stars. Will I Return? - Only when I'm craving BBQ Shrimp - which means I'll probably only return about once a year. Jack & Harry's has an amazing atmosphere, service, and food. But I'm ok if I only make this trip for a special occasion. 1/2 Star.

Yelp
Some of the best food I have had in a minute- went with a group and the drinks and food alike were excellent. We started with the Hemingway Daiquiri, French Martini, and Vieux Carre Old Fashioned. All were prime choices, my favorite cocktail was the Hemingway Daiquiri which was well balanced, and not too sweet for a rum drink. For dinner, we had the house special Steak Frites which came with a mountain of frites, the gumbo, the Chicken Francaise which was perfectly cooked, and the Little Gem Caesar which was adorned with generous breadcrumbs and the perfect caesar dressing. The White Truffle Crayfish Mac & Cheese was over the top, rich, cheesy and addicting. We finished with Creme Brûlée, and were disappointed that this New Orleans themed spot does not have beignets on the dessert menu, despite "Beignets" being painted on the building outside, lol. For this price point, our service was okay- table maintenance and attentiveness could have been better. Unfortunately, Vandelay does not miss.

Justin S.

Yelp
The service and interior decor is top tier. Even on a busy night, I was taken care of. This is a perfect spot to hit up after a long day of work! The only small compliant I have is the steak in the steak frites dish is such low quantity. There's like 5 slices of steak and whole bunch of delicious fries. At least let me be feel satisfied after demolishing the steak.

Wendy Q.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience! Keep in mind we dined at 4:30 when very few people were eating in the restaurant and this may have impacted noise level and service... or maybe not. Everything was perfect for our group of 4. We order fries as our appetizers with two people sharing a house salad and two others sharing a Cesar salad. For dinner: NY Strip steak, Parmesan Crusted Snapper, and French Dip sandwich. Everything mouthwatering delicious and hot. For dessert, we shared the Oreo fudge ice cream. Everyone cleared their plates of every single dish. We will definitely return!

Maddie D.

Yelp
The vibe of this restaurant is fantastic! It's sophisticated yet sleek. The bar is such a fun vibe right upon walking in. We sat at a small two top next to the bar, which was shockingly comfortable. We started with the smoked trout dip, which was fantastic. It was a great portion and they were quick to bring extra crackers when we ran out. My friend ordered the steak frites and I ordered the Cajun chicken. Both delicious. The shoestring fries that come along with each meal were perfectly crisp and airy. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. He was well versed in the menu and helpful in deciding what to order. Overall it was a great Wednesday night dinner.

Jimmy K.

Yelp
We tried this for a recent guy's dinner and it did not disappoint. A little bit of New Orleans meets Dallas. The bar area is large, with plenty of seating. The booth we had was comfortable in the dining room. Our waiter Sean was awesome. The crab cake beignets and freshly shucked oysters were great appetizers. The steak frites had great flavor. Way more frites than steak, but the sauce on the steak was awesome. The other guys got the ribeye and they both enjoyed it. The potatoes au gratin were tasty as well.

Emily G.

Yelp
Great ambiance, cozy and comfortable. Not my favorite French martini, but not the worst. Service was friendly, but not necessarily over the top. I feel like it's a great place to grab a drink or casual catch up meal with a friend.

Crystal R.

Yelp
Excellent birthday dinner for our daughter tonight! The oysters, Caesar salad, steak frites, and Branzino was all prepared perfectly! Our sides were the macaroni and cheese and dirty rice. I loved the macaroni and cheese. Almost forgot! We don't usually order dessert but tonight we got the crème brûlée and it was good also! Our server was attentive without being annoying. Hopefully we can come back soon!

Hope M.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and Eric took great care of us! The hostess was sweet when we came in and asked for a table. Eric served us their mimosa experience with 2 bottles of champagne and 3 juice choices! He popped the champagne in front of us and served us! We loved everything we got! Not pictured was the steak frites which was amazing and the filet which melted in your mouth and the crab cakes which were amazing! I love Caesar salad and this one is now at the top of my list! The oysters were yummy and fresh and we were served freshly shaven horseradish which was so good! The fleur de lis cocktail was light and refreshing as well! We will be back again!

Kevin W.

Yelp
Great evening last night at Jack & Harry's. Loved our table and the food was a 10! 1st time and will definitely come back again

Travis S.

Yelp
Came here the first day it opened. Sat at the bar. Great drinks and ice cold martinis. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic, another big hit for Vandelay. Oysters were amazing red fish was fantastic the steak was great. The bignets were fantastic. Nothing on the menu we did not enjoy. Around 7 PM we were greeted with a live band that made you feel like you were actually in NOLA. Really nice touch. Everything was gorgeous inside and very clean.

Charlie S.

Yelp
Really good. Feels like a New Orleans restaurant. They were fully booked up and we had no Rez but the hostess really worked to get us a table and it was right away. I was surprised but happy bc the food is so good.

Michael M.

Yelp
Maybe more of a locals joint vs a destination one! Highlight was the little crab fritters that came with the redfish.

Kelly F.

Yelp
Food and ambiance were great! We started with the grilled artichokes which were great. I got the Red Fish which was absolutely delicious. The vibes were also great. Would recommend.

Brian S.

Yelp
20s jazz music playing really makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to a very festive New Orleans. Our server Marco was very attentive, descriptive, and on point. The food is decadent, tasty, and very different than your standard chophouse. The gumbo was filled with sausage, chicken, and flavor. The mushroom appetizer was tasty. The French onion filet was so juicy and savory. Sides were fantastic. And the desserts: ice cream sandwich & banana foster cheesecake. The ice cream sandwich wins hands down. I think the plate was clean by the time we were finished. The cheesecake was good but just couldn't compare. The only downside is it's in snider plaza and lacks a sexy crowd. Cater's more to families. But that could be a byproduct of visiting on Sunday. We'll try again on a Friday night to compare.

Blake C.

Yelp
Jack and Harry's is the newest addition to the Schneider Plaza area, and I must say, it's breathed new life into the local restaurant scene. The restaurant boasts beautiful New Orleans-inspired decor, setting itself apart in Dallas with its unique ambiance. The menu is a standout feature, offering a diverse array of fantastic flavorful options. It was a tough decision, but we kicked off our meal with the steak tartare, which was both generous in portion and satisfying in taste. For our entrees we indulged in the French Onion Filet Mignon and the Chicken Française, accompanied by sides of white truffle crayfish mac and cheese and pomme purée au jus. Each dish was rich in flavor, staying true to the New Orleans theme. While every bite was delightful, I found the pomme purée could have been a bit more flavorful, though this may be subjective. The service was attentive, with staff offering great recommendations from the menu. Overall, our experience was thoroughly enjoyable, and we're already planning our next visit.

Yelp
I have been thinking about how to craft this review for more than two weeks. Visitors please aware that common sense does not apply to this fairly new restaurant in snider plaza. We visited for a birthday celebration Valentines week. We had a DINNER reservation for 5:30. Three of us arrived in a timely fashion to find parking a disaster with the entire parking lot in front of the restaurant torn up. One of our part of four was running late. The bar was packed as it was still happy hour. People were hovering over every seat. We were informed that we would not be seated until the entire party was there. See above - our fourth member could not find a parking place and had been circling the Construction zone for 30 min. People wished for our bar seats - restaurant said " it is policy not to seat you until the entire party is here and I am doing my job." Right. There were fourteen empty four tops in the restaurant - I counted. Still they would not sit us. We should have said the fourth member wasn't coming rather than saying she was circling the mess of parking lot where Jack and Harry's sits . The policy - intended to help turn tables - didn't do its job. We did not drink at the bar- others waiting could not drink at the bar - and we were not seated. As a result - we were there longer than we needed to be - later than we should have been for the next reservation and people who wanted to be at the bar couldn't purchase drinks easily. A three person table is the same as a four top - this was absurd. Policy yes but management needs to teach hostesses and their managers to use common sense. The snarky team tried to make it better by providing a champagne and dessert but the damage had been done. The gesture was appreciated but our first 15 minutes concentrated on the poor overall experience and the lack of common sense inspired in staff members. Our server was lovely and friendly and the food was nice enough - but not nice enough to make this group of four return any time soon. The atmosphere is cozy, clubby, and should be welcoming . Again - this was for a 5:30 reservation - hardly a dinner rush at this time ! Make sure you are aware of the "policy" the construction in the parking lot, and the lack of common sense initiative here, for a pricey menu that is ok but not great enough to make it okay to treat customers like this.

Caroline R.

Yelp
Nothing incredible about the meal. Not great, but not terrible. Probably wouldn't go again since it's expensive for mid food. Service is fine. No one was available to fill up our waters the entire time. The ambiance is great, though!

Yelp
I have a special place in my heart for Snider Plaza. While I'm not originally from Dallas, many things in my life have revolved around Snider Plaza. Years ago, I had several significant others who lived in the immediate Snider Plaza neighborhood. My better half is a grad from SMU which is directly across the street. And I've spent countless nights (and days) dining in Snider Plaza restaurants over the past three decades. The eateries which have opened and closed, as well as those that remain, in Snider Plaza have always had a casual flair. And Snider Plaza retail shops have mostly seemed to be a mixture of mom and pop businesses, hobby shops, and others that were not an outpost of some giant chain organization. Over the years, if I were looking to have a celebratory dinner for that big promotion to the corner office or finding a place that serves a great Martini to commemorate a change in relationship status , to be quite frank, Snider Plaza would have been the last place that would have popped into my frontal lobe. In my mind, Snider Plaza was completely void of "destination" type of joints. You know, the type of places that you'd take cousins Ned and Doreen when they visited from Biloxi for the big night on the town. Not too long ago, we noticed a new joint about to open in Snider Plaza...Jack & Harry's...that looked, from outward appearances, to be in a league of it's own as compared to other Snider Plaza tenants. Needless to say, we were eager to give this new eatery a whirl after it opened. We made an 8 PM reservation on a recent Monday night and found the place to be buzzing with activity. Not only did every table appear to be filled, but they had a sizable bar crowd at the oversized bar. Best of all, the restaurant had all of the trappings of joint that could be labeled as upscale. As my mind furiously worked to process what was going on around me, I could only think, "This?...In Snider Plaza???" We had asked for a booth and it magically appeared right at our reservation time. Jack & Harry's is dark and handsomely appointed, but one downside became clear soon after we were seated...the joint is loud and noisy. For folks like me with diminished hearing abilities, it was a struggle to hear from my partner as well as the attentive wait staff. We started with a dozen oysters, and followed by broiled red fish and the Chicken Francaise. In my opinion, each of our selections was step above the ordinary. I'm looking forward for our next visit to further explore Jack & Harry's menu. And I don't say that often. To me, the restaurant is smidgen away from a five star experience. The noise and the crowds being the only major distraction. But for other folks, this might be a tiny blip, and perhaps, a positive consideration. As we left for our journey back home, I had to say once again, "This?...In Snider Plaza???"

Yelp
This is a great special occasion dinner! We got bbq shrimp, steak frites, crawfish Mac and cheese, and bananas foster cheesecake. Everything was delicious and extremely high quality. Only criticism is it didn't seem like a lot of steak but for $40, seems like a fair price. The mac and cheese has crayfish in every bite and for the bbq shrimp, even though there were only 4 of them they were huge and it also came with bread and some kind of rice situation so it was filling enough. One more small criticism- just in general restaurants really need to up their game on mocktails, especially for a fancy restaurant. I got a raspberry thyme thing they offered and it was basically just a Shirley temple. Overall - immaculate vibes and ambiance and the food was delicious. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Food was very good, service was very good, ambiance was not as good. This place was extremely hot for an establishment t in Dallas, Texas on a summer day. Everyone in our party was sweating due to the lack of cool AC. The Jackrabbit cocktail was also very good.

Yelp
Great Service made a reservations for my birthday with seated promptly giving menus service was great. Everybody was attentive to the table. The waiter was amazing. Besides that the food was really good when I come back to Dallas I would definitely revisit. The atmosphere and the inside was wide open and spacious enough for you to have a conversation without being overheard or listening into other conversations great place to go

Yelp
Recently went to Jack and Harry's and just upon opening the door, the energy and scene was as quintessential park cities as possible. Beautiful lighting, holiday decor, and consistency in branding in the style of New Orleans. It captured Brennan-like Nola comparisons for our group, with ease. The menu succeeds on three distinct fronts. First, the variation of on-theme items, including oysters, steaks, seafood, dips, andouille sausage mushrooms and more. Solid menu. Next, pricing appears reasonable on first and second glance. You have $39 steak frites, reasonable sides, and also options like a burger. Third, and corresponding with pricing, is attention to portion size and high margin items. With brilliant attention to food costs, portions, and popular preparation and perceived value, they achieve a trifecta of satisfying taste buds, managing price points and making money. The space could benefit from a larger footprint and investment in form, furniture and function. The casual fine dining market is seeing an increase in national players who are introducing institutional level investments in competing restaurants. This is a category that has been dominated by regional and local players who know their markets so well. I think corporate investors previously underestimated the demand in this tier. Jack and Harry's is a star that can continuously move upmarket and disrupt both incumbents and new entrants in its category. Service could use a bit of an improvement, as historically New Orleans style steakhouse and seafood joints complement short term employees with true lifers. Jack and Harry's could benefit from a bit more consistency in the bar and dining room by recruiting in that direction. Next time we go, I'm wondering if the best approach might be to enjoy meals family style, sharing steak, shrimp etouffe and the like - a tour and blend of New Orleans fusion, which might end up more even satisfying in concert than enjoying these items as stand-alone. Five stars for the magic they have cultivated, but also for the potential and future as this brand grows.

Yelp
This restaurant is a total vibe. Came here for a drink and ended up having three and a steak. The Hemingway martini is really good (a lil sweet but the bartenders were so nice and made our second one less so) and you can't go wrong w the steak frites. The ceaser salad was great but try the palm salad for me because that looked incredible. I'm looking forward to going back already.

Yelp
Went there last Friday night and what underwhelmed by the food. I had a Ribeye with Foie on top. asked for medium rare but it was over cooked. Love the bar area but it's a Hugh SMU hangout. Better steakhouse choices in dallas.

Yelp
Had a 7:00 reservation Saturday night but was not seated until 7:40! I don't mind waiting 15 minutes (I could see they were slammed) but this was unacceptable. The hostess was nice and apologized for the delay, but traditionally when a restaurant makes you wait 40 minutes for your table they offer something... a round of drinks, appetizers or dessert to make things right. But nadda. On the positive side, we were given a great table and the ambience was very nice. Our server was pleasant but seemed a bit overwhelmed. I had the Snapper and while tasty the center was a little too firm like it was slightly undercooked. My wife had the Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffée and while the flavor was very good the seafood seemed either very small or possibly chopped. The overall consistency was like thick soup. When you get Etouffée you expect to see some seafood. We do enjoy neighborhood restaurants so will probably give J&H another try.

Yelp
HITS: 1. The carrots were PHENOMENAL, but wow, these are poorly named on the menu as "rosemary carrots." If there was rosemary, it was a fine dusting. More notably, they're served in a creamy wasabi sauce that is absolutely divine (if you like wasabi). I feel bad for people ordering "rosemary carrots" and getting a surprise punch of wasabi in the mouth. Maybe this is designed to be a "secret menu" item of sorts? Like, "Oh, I love those 'rosemary' carrots at Jack and Harry's," wink wink. If you know you know, maybe? (Well, now you know.) 2. The French onion steak dish is glorious. Although it hides a subpar steak underneath a dousing of French onion sauce and broiled cheese, we all were willing to forgive the subpar steak due to the dish as a whole being so delicious. And I guess if it were a really excellent steak, you'd want to eat it plain, but at the same time, this is a $50 entree.... 3. None of us ordered the steak frites, so we ordered a side of frites for the table. They were delicious; they almost reminded me of very thin veggie straws. They're extremely light and crisp. 4. Those who could eat the truffle mac said it was divine. Sadly, it features crayfish, and I have a shellfish allergy. On that note, it's a tough menu for sharing plates if you have a shellfish allergy. Almost all the appetizers involve shellfish. (I get it...it's a New Orleans restaurant. Not a criticism; it is what it is.) 5. The grilled branzino is truly fantastic. Delicious herb sauce. 6. The Fleur de Lis "martini" is basically a cucumber gimlet. But sure, call it a martini. I don't care. It's still delicious -- sweet but not overly so. That said, if you're a classic martini drinker, you're not going to love this one. I got a little tired of the sweetness by the end of it, so for my second drink, I ordered just a regular dirty gin martini, which was quite nice. I also noted that they have a chenin blanc by the glass -- my favorite white wine, and not especially common by the glass. Will have to try it next time. 7. The Caesar salad for the table was the perfect size for sharing with four people. It also was surprisingly delicious -- not boring at all, as some Caesars can be. 8. The ambiance is lovely. Trust me; it's better in person than in the photos. We all agreed that the ambiance can best be described as "country club" -- a hint of old-school (including the fun green awning outside) with a modern twist. A vibe that will feel quite comfortable to non-adventurous boomers, but I can love it too. Don't shy away from being seated at the tables in the middle of the room, because those rolling leather chairs are so comfortable you'll never want to leave. I don't quite understand why "New Orleans theme" is interpreted as "equestrian theme" -- yes, I know NOLA has a racetrack, but it's not a well-known one, nor is the city well-known for it. I guess they leaned into horses as opposed to beads and jazz and all that. At any rate, it works. MISSES: 1. Service was a little weird. Our waitress greeted us and asked what kind of water we wanted (still, sparkling, or tap). Then she walked off without asking if we wanted anything else to drink (and we'd been sitting there long enough to have drink orders in mind). When she returned with the waters, she placed them on the table and immediately left, AGAIN without asking if we wanted anything else to drink. We'd been sitting there for at least 15 minutes by the time she finally returned, at which point she asked NOT about drink orders but about whether we wanted any appetizers. We literally had to interject and request drink orders, so we didn't even get our drinks until probably 20-25 minutes into being seated. (Also, she never once asked about any food allergies, which definitely should be standard for a place with so much shellfish on the menu -- obviously I know not to order crab and shrimp, but it's helpful to have waiters know about my shellfish allergy so that they can alert me to any sauces or other sneaky dishes that might have shellfish.) Service continued to be weird the whole evening (e.g., our side of fries came out before anything else, totally on its own). Maybe she had been assigned too many tables? But it was a Sunday evening, and there were empty tables the whole time we were there -- this wasn't prime time on a Friday night. 2. The artichoke appetizer tasted of nothing but charcoal, because the artichokes were burned. 3. The women's restroom has two stalls, and one was out of order. This led to quite a wait. 4. The prices here really add up. It doesn't have "special occasion" vibes (especially in the entry/bar area), but it has special occasion prices. On that note, I never did get a chance to ask our eternally vanishing waitress why all the prices end in 80 cents. Message me with the answer if you know! OVERALL: More hits than misses. I'll be back, for sure. Probably with my non-adventurous boomer parents. They need a sneaky introduction to wasabi.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a double date here on Friday evening. We had a decent time but it quickly went downhill when we got home. It wasn't even an hour before I got violently ill. The oysters Rockefeller must not have been cooked properly. My friends also got very sick when they returned home. I informed the manager the following day and he seemed very professional. He said he was taking it very seriously and would get back to me within 24 hours to let me know what could've possibly happened. I never got a call back. Combined, the 4 of us spent about $600 or more on dinner that night. I have to say I've had far superior experiences for that amount of money, and none of them ended in food poisoning. I really had high hopes for this place but unfortunately I was left extremely disappointed and very very sick.

Yelp
Service was awesome. Not pictured was the steak tartar and oysters St.Claude. We went early before the crowd and was in and out within an hour. We didn't care for the dirty rice as it wasn't authentic. We order a French 76 wich was a nice drink. The redfish was awesome and the brazino fish was cool just to much vingeraatt. We may go back..one day

Yelp
Everything was so good. The restaurant was stunning, there's a big bar area when you walk in and more traditional seating to the left. The martinis were excellent. The crab cake beignets were like lightly fried crab cakes - incredible. Beef tartare was amazing as well for an app. The crayfish Mac n cheese was rich and cheesy - get for a side. Loved the red fish and the steak frites. We also tried the ice cream sandwich and espresso martini for dessert. Service was excellent - Sean was so polite, charming, and attentive!!! Will def come back. It is a little pricey but I thought it was worth it!!

Yelp
Too expensive for mediocre food. Service was sporadic. Loved the decor & the bar area. Also, a little loud. But would return for Happy Hour for their Fleur de Lei

Yelp
Well.....I like the vibe. (Maybe I should just stop right there.) Ok, I ordered the barbeque shrimp and I loved the flavor of the shrimp...(should I stop there?) They were perfectly cooked and came in a New Orleans Style sauce, not so much a barbecue sauce like a Texan might expect. I loved the flavor. My hopes were very high when I saw the bread on the plate which would be great to sop up that beautiful sauce...(I wish I had stopped there.) The bread was borderline terrible. Rubbery, flavorless..yuck. Caesar salad...way too cheesey, making it taste super salty. Filet with mashed potatoes...and a side order of cream spinach. (I wish I had stopped.) The filet was ok...Just ok. The mashed potatoes were covered in a brown gravy that was too much...the steak also sat in a pool of oil/grease. I've never had creamed spinach that had such a hard, almost Blue Cheese flavor to it. It was a shock. In an unpleasant way. Hey, I liked the vibe. And hey, 3 stars is pretty generous--looking back. Just avoid the bread...the spinach...the gravy...and see about keeping the steak off the greasey plate. If you can do all that--you might really enjoy this place.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place. The decor and ambience was fantastic, the staff was perfect. Martinis absolutely divine. Why the 3 stars? We ordered just two appetizers during a happy hour visit... Roasted artichokes and the fried oysters. Both sounded great and could have been epic but neither of us enjoyed them. Too many flavors competing for attention. The artichokes were nearly burnt and one of the sauces underneath would have been fine but both were confusing and overpowering. The fried oysters would have been grand if not smothered with a sweet relish of some sort. Lightly breaded, flash fried, presentation lovely but that topping just ruined the dish. In fairness, we took them home and our version of "Mikey" did enjoy them. I'll try it again and venture beyond appetizers but the cooks definitely need to practice "less is more" on these two dishes.

Yelp
Bar Service is weak. It took the staff of 3 with only 9 people at the bar way too long to take my order, refill my tea and tab me out. They need to pay attention and focus on tasks at hand and less chatting with each other. BUT the food was very, very good!
