Yummy to my tummy! I came in for a solo lunch and I enjoyed everything! There was no wait and the food was fresh. To drink I have the Reverend Old Fashioned. As a frequent Old Fashioned drinker it was amazing! Foodwise I had their version of oysters Rockefeller, stuffed jalapeños, and hush puppies. My little soul was so content. What a cozy homey place. I will be back again!

Amazing!! Food wonderful! Janine is a spectacular bartender!! The wings with old bay outstanding. Wonderful outdoor space, big indoor space. Get beer and fresh catch. Nice wine selection. Love it!!

Definitely a local hot spot. Not overpriced and really good size meals. Had my first oyster shooter with beer here.... Interesting.. Every seafood item was fresh. Loved the calamari too. Tasty, perfectly seasoned and flash fried, giving it that super crunch. Very attentive service. Plenty of parking and no wait time at all, for a Friday night. Good, family friendly establishments. It was not too loud either which was really nice to be able to enjoy dinner and company with yelling across the table.

It was nothing more than a can of diced tomatoes, a few cans of other vegetables, and some crab meat. Zero flavor. Extremely bland. The Andouille Corn Chowder did not impress us either. If we are ever back, we will likely only stick to raw bar items. And not sit at the bar.

We’ve had many good meals here but somehow I’ve never written a review before now. Even with an ownership change several years ago, it’s the same comfortable eating/drinking place with a nice local warmth. The food is always tasty and the sides are varied and plentiful. The drink selection has something for everyone. The wait staff is quite professional.

We enjoy this restaurant and visit it everytime my son and his wife are in town. We often find the best oysters here. The service is always attentive but doesn't hover nor interject too often. The seafood is always fresh and prepared very well.

Amazing! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and found here! Heather is literally amazing! Such a sweetheart! I 100% recommend here! The food and drinks are amazing and so affordable! Don’t go to the beach front places. Come here!

The food is always delicious but the star of the show is definitely the Krispy cream bread pudding. You are definitely doing yourself a disservice if you miss out on this!

The Crab Dip was very greasy and sat heavy in the stomach. The main dish with the shrimp platter made up for the dip, but there were only 6 shrimps on the plate, which in my opinion, was not enough for what the price is worth. The corn was undercooked and the only best thing from this plate is the tomato salad. They have their own parking lot, and I recommend a reservation on busy dinner nights.

I came here last saturday with my family ad we were VERY happy with the service and the food we recieved during our visit. Our server was the wonderful Amanda, and she was very patient, kind and knowledgeable about the menu and the specials of the day. We had tried the wings, the stuffed jalapeños, the tomatoe and crab soup, the Halibut special, the jambalya with blackened catfish, the fried red snapper, The the mac n cheese, the kids burger, the Bread pudding (DELISH! ), the coconut cake ( soooo rich), and the Chesapeake Beer. All of the food was top tier and we intend to return when we are in the area. I am very excited to experience the next round of specials in the future The resturant is a casual set up, with the bathrooms situated near teh front doors. The are some nice decorative elements and the restroom was clean.

My family came here while on a group vacation. We were craving seafood and looked for a good spot in the area where we were staying. They were pretty packed and there was not much seating in the main dining area so we had to sit in their front room, near the entrance. It wasn't too bad but service was affected a bit. The serving sizes are huge. The food was a bit bland but it was definitely very filling. Their hush puppies were not the best but they could pass. They were too big and hard for my kiddo. She did not like them with her fried shrimp. We had fried fish and shrimp po'boys. The Mac & cheese side was so tasteless. Hubby had a chicken sandwich and that thing was completely dry. There was no sauce on it at all. It was just dry, grilled or baked chicken breast on thick dry bread. Our biggest gripe was with the service and time it took to get everything, overall.

We came in for dinner yesterday and we're seated in the patio area. We were given menus and patiently waited for our waitress. Another party was seated shortly after and the waitress came to take their order. Another couple of guests came in not long after the first ones that came in after us and the waitress came over to help them, meanwhile not one person came to take our order and we were there first. We got up and walked out. Both parties were white, which we felt discrimination. One thing for sure is our green money spends everywhere so we took our business elsewhere! You don't have to worry about us patronizing your establishment again! Just disgusting and ridiculous! If I were able to provide zero stars I would!

Stopped in for a drink at the bar. Casual vibe with a long bar and lots of tables. They have a good raw bar selection but we didn't try anything. The food also looked good. We got a couple cocktails and they were done well. Service was friendly and fast. Next time I'm in town will have to try their food!

We have family visiting from out of town and they were craving seafood so we decided to come to A W Shucks Bar because it's been on my bookmarked list :) FOOD: Caesar salad was good but not spectacular. The blackened rockfish was great and so were their garlic green beans. The bread and butter were okay, I won't order it again. SERVICE: Friendly service! So nice and courteous. LOCATION: It's a huge space that I could totally miss if I wasn't looking for it. Located in Ghent, right off of Colonial. Would I come back? Heck yeah! Looks like they have a bunch of random specials during the week that I want to try.

It's high time I provide another Shucks review. They've treated me so well over the years and I've come to know and love many of their staff. I want to thank them for everything they've done for me. Probably the kindest gesture they provided me was after my dad passed away in July 2020. He was suffering from diabetes - we caught it fairly late and his entire body was slowly shutting down. After he had heart bypass surgery, things took a dark turn and he was gone 7 days later. Obviously, I was devastated. At the same time, it was tough to process everything because my mom was grieving, too (she unexpectedly lost her younger brother 2 months earlier). I put up a front by staying strong for the both of us, but it was extremely difficult. Anyways, I didn't do much for about 2 months, but finally made myself get out of the house. I ended up at Shucks, where I was greeted with hugs and well wishes from the staff. I had some meaningful discussions with them, too, and, wouldn't you know it, they wouldn't let me pay for dinner. They didn't have to do that, especially with the shutdown affecting all businesses. I felt them offering their condolences was beautiful enough. They went out of their way to make me feel normal again because they treated me as part of their family, which I cherish. Thank you, Shucks, for everything. You are the best. JV

Actually it was a little cold for me in the restaurant but that is me I got the blackened tuna sandwich and it was good and my friend got the oyster stew which looked really good. Service was excellent.

The food and service is good when I visited on previous occasions. The receptionist on duty the last time I went was not very personable. Not sure why maybe because I was a single diner. She really didn't want to accommodate my request so I left. The food is good but that particular receptionist seemed to be selective about their customers. Always go with a guest or in a party.. I would like to go again because I enjoy seafood but next time I'll go with a guest or not on a day when that receptionist is working.

Was there a year and a half ago and the food was very salty. Tried it again today and nothing changed. Still very salty. My friend asked for tartar sauce and was told they didn't have any. A seafood restaurant with no tartar sauce, seriously??? Our server was not friendly at all. Never again.

Bit expensive. Husbands po boy had like 5 popcorn shrimp and was $16. Service made me feel rushed. And ambiance was old, felt outdated. Oyster Romano is what saved the score

A hidden gem! Walking past, I never would have expected this spot to have such fresh and tasty seafood. The interior looks like a dive bar that only serves burgers and onion rings. While I have heard great things about their burgers, I was sticking to seafood. The seafood menu is pretty vast with plenty of options to choose from and a fresh catch of the day. I ordered the salmon special which came with a veggie and potato hash topped with a herby chimichuri sauce. So delicious and the fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly and service was great. I'd definitely come back.

If I wrote this review at the beginning of the meal, it would've been 5 stars; however, after we got our food, our waiter disappeared. Long story short...we waited at a cleared table for 45min before we were able to pay and leave. Long story long... It wasn't that busy, so we were seated right away. I was initially impressed with our waiter as he took our order quickly and had it memorized without writing it down. The cocktails were great, and the food was delicious. Other staff members brought out all of our food and drinks, but our server came to check on us once after we had our food. After that he disappeared. When we had finished, yet another staff member cleared our table. We were sitting at an empty table for a bit, and finally, our server came by and said he'd bring the check...and then we waited another 25min to get the check. After giving him our card, he went to take other tables' orders. We were waiting about 45min total at an empty table - water glasses and everything cleared- before we had completed payment and were able to leave. The menu said that 18% gratuity was automatically added to the check for parties of 5 or more. Our check had 20% gratuity added, which would have been generous for the poor service received. At that point, we'd been waiting for so long we just paid without saying anything so we could leave. At the beginning of the meal, I was commenting how I wanted to come back with more family and this would be my regular spot for crab legs. After the experience, I probably won't come back again.

We eat here every 5 weeks or so. Have for years. The food is awesome, no matter what you choose. I usually get the broiled crab cake (great!) sandwich and fries.. the best (of both) in town! I often also get a cup of the tomato/crab soup. My husband likes the Shrimp Po'boy and my son loves the burger with the fried egg on top. We never leave hungry.

Don't get the shrimp and grits app. Probably the worst I've ever had, despite a nice presentation it was pretty flavorless and had an odd charbroiled taste to it. However, the main issue was our waitress's behavior, she was very... strange! She barely spoke when she came to and from the table. She reached across us for plates to clear the table without saying a word and for refills she just very awkwardly grabbed our cups and walked away. We let it go because I just couldn't tell what was even happening. At one point she said "I'm just bad with words today" and even though that was also weird we just laughed it off like "okay, yeahh that happens".. ironically she had two other tables near us of Caucasian families that she would stop at and talk and laugh for minutes at a time.. I mean it's whatever but still very strange that you're basically stoic when at our table and walk 3ft away and become the bubbliest person ever. All of the other servers were super nice when they checked on us so I'm not sure what her issue was. It was my sister and I along with two kids just having a quick dinner before my nieces cheer practice. I would go back but if I get her as a waitress I'd definitely respectfully decline. Can't remember her name but she looked to be middle aged with shoulder length brown hair.

Everything we've ordered has been great! They have some good happy hour specials, the service is always friendly, and the restaurant itself is really nice. Highly recommend for good seafood!

Came here on a Friday for dinner. Sat out in the warm, heated patio. Ordered Crab & Flounder with mashed potatoes and hush puppies (7/10)... found little bones in the fish, needed some kind of sauce to go on top of it. Mashed potatoes (9/10) would like it smooth but that's okay! Hushpuppies we're filling and a bit big for the size of it. Service was good. Place wasn't as crowded.

Delish!! Let's see my husbae and I have visited this restaurant about three maybe four times now. Each time, we love it more and more! I love the vibe inside and I love the set up as well. We have dined in all the seating options... at the bar, at a table top and even in the outside like seating area. Each time our server has been on point and the food, simply irresistible. My husbae is in love with their catfish. It is plentiful and always a hit with him. I believe it's blackened. I love the salmon. I've had dessert here too, on my first visit earlier this year. I cannot recall what I had but check out my pics from Feb. 2021 and you should see it... it was devine! The cocktails are a real treat too. Parking has never been an issue for us. But I do suggest you call ahead of time to check to see if there is a wait to be seated. We have tried this each time and have been successful at being seated upon arrival. However, we have seen others turned away after being told a long wait time. If you have not tried this spot... GO! Have fun and enjoy life :)

Great local spot that we stopped by when visiting the college nearby. Crab Cakes were A+ and very filling. The Pleasure House oysters had my father saying they were the best he's ever had.

Very cute and reasonably priced place for seafood. We showed up with no reservations and were lucky enough (considering Vday weekend) to only have to wait 30 mins for a table. We ordered glasses of wine and the mussels to start. They were very good and loved the sauce they were in. We shared a large order of the steamed seafood combo. It was great to get such a large variety: oysters, crab legs, clams, potatoes, corn, sausage, and shrimp. All was delish. Our oysters weren't cracked open so the server was perceptive enough to notice and immediately took them back to have them opened. They were plump and very good. Their hushpuppies were very good as well. Ended with a slice of their delicious strawberry cake cheesecake combo. I think it was a special for valentine's. I would order this again..and again. It was so rich and good. Overall, highly recommend and know this will be a required stop on my visits to Norfolk.

Reasonable prices and great daily specials! We went on a Thursday to get the dozen for $15 oysters! Delicious! The catch of the day was very fresh, had a crisp coating, and came with two heaping sides. The shrimp and grits was a little too tomato-based for my taste, but still tasted good. Quiet around 4 pm. You can sit Indoors, outdoors, or in a screened in patio!

Went here for a lunch date yesterday, and loved it! My boyfriend and I got drinks and our server recommended the Pink Lemondroptini. I thought it was quite nice, a little sour and a bit sweet. I didn't realize it came with a sugar rim, so that was a pleasant surprise! We also ordered the Oysters Romano to start, and it was probably the best experience I've had with oysters ever! It was almost like scalloped potato sauce with a crispy cheese top and an oyster underneath. I definitely recommend getting them, they are worth the price!! As for our mains, he got a half shrimp, half oyster Po'Boy with a side of Mashed Potatoes, and I got Fish and Chips with Garlic Green Beans. He said it was really good, and having taken a bite of his potatoes I'd say so as well. As for myself, their fish was super hot and crisp. The french fries are definitely some of the best I've ever had though, that's for sure! They are super crisp and seasoned very nicely, I know it's a bit basic of a side, but I'll be getting them every time I go here now. The green beans are nice, fresh and seasoned well. Their remoulade sauce is also quite nice, very cajun in taste, and adds a bit of flavorful spice to whatever is being dipped into it. At the end we split a piece of chocolate cake, which was a nice touch to the end of our outing. It was a bit basic, but nice in chocolatey flavor. It came with some good whipped cream as well! We devoured it in probably 5 minutes or less. Overall, definitely coming here again, cute little place with good food is always great!

Hello Shucky, my old friend. I've come to dine with you again. A.W. Shucks Raw Bar & Grill first opened in 2005, tucked away behind the intersection of Colonial Avenue and 22nd Street, after new owners spent months remodeling an older former seafood restaurant in its same space. It is adjacent to the Coast DIY Bar, an art and craft workshop and studio. On the opposite side is a row of businesses that includes the Catnip Cat Cafe. A large parking lot is provided. We go back a long way. I made my first visit during their opening week and immediately became a regular customer. It also become my favorite drinking spot. A series of life detours then led me away from the local bar and dining scene for several years. I finally got back into the game when I joined Yelp in 2013. My original review was written in 2015, before I even had a cell phone. When I looked over that review and saw its lack of photos, I decided an update was well overdue. A.W. Shucks announced last month (November, 2020) that they were reopening for lunch on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This updated review is based upon four recent lunch time visits. As a COVID era precaution, they took my temperature during each of my visits. Two outdoor tables, spaced well apart for social distancing, are now provided. I ate inside their enclosed patio area during each of my visits and ordered the following: JAMBALAYA: Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Served in a Savory Creole Sauce with Rice Pilaf and topped with a Fresh Catfish Filet. Their Jambalaya remains as one of the best I have ever enjoyed. In fact, it tasted even better than I remembered. The shrimp were large, plump, and delicious. The Andouille Sausage was tender and flavorful. The Creole sauce was knockout delicious and combined beautifully with the rice pilaf. It was seasoned superbly with a nice spicy and peppery kick. The piece de resistance was the blackened fish filet, which nearly covered the entire diameter of my plate. It was fresh, delicious, and literally melted in my mouth. The blackened coating was tasty and well executed. My Rating: 5-Plus Stars. SHRIMP-N-GRITS: Shrimp Sauteed with Garlic, Cajun Sausage, and Onion in a Savory Creole Sauce over Grits. This was a lunch time special addition, one that is larger in portion size than the version listed in the "Bait" (Appetizers) section of their menu. Once again, the shrimp were plump and juicy, and the sausage was tender and flavorful. The sauce delivered its deliciously spicy and peppery kick. If I could make one adjustment, I would add a greater portion of grits to provide a larger bed for the shrimp and other ingredients. My Rating: 4.5 Stars. SEARED TUNA: Served with Soy, Wasabi, and Pickled Ginger. Listed in the "Bait" (Appetizers) section of their menu, the flavors of this one did not sing to me as sweetly as the others. Some of the tuna slices were a bit on the dry side. Fortunately, the soy, wasabi, and pickled ginger came to the rescue to perk up their flavors. My Rating: 3.5 Stars. BLACKENED FLOUNDER WITH TWO SIDES: From the list of sides on their menu, I chose the Rice Pilaf and Mac-N-Cheese. This was another lunch time addition. The flounder filet was nicely blackened, tender, delicious, and came in a portion size that was just right for my lunch time appetite. The rice pilaf was piping hot and flavorful. My Rating: 5 Stars. Their Mac-N-Cheese deserves a special mention. Made with penne pasta and a combination of cream cheese, white cheddar, and other cheeses, it delivered a cozy and delicious depth of flavor with a silky smooth texture that was beautifully balanced. I might add that their Mac-N-Cheese came in 2nd Place in a Virginian-Pilot blind taste test back in 2009. I am giving this one a separate rating: 5 Stars. HOMEMADE BREAD PUDDING: This is their signature dessert and comes with a delicious Bourbon Caramel Sauce. It had been years since I had a bread pudding I really liked, and I found this one to be profoundly delicious. The sauce was beyond awesome, and I could even smell the bourbon when it was brought to my table. My Rating: 5 Stars. A.W. Shucks recently received several votes on a Facebook food page as the best local spot for fresh oysters. Unfortunately, I am allergic to oysters and cannot vouch for them personally. Monday night is their All You Can Eat Crab Legs night, starting at 4 pm. Wednesday night is their night for Prime Rib, which sells out fast. One thing I would love to see is an occasional whole fish dish as a fresh catch special. But that's not their style, and I respect that. Their fresh fish specials are all served as filets. When I crunch the food rating numbers during my recent lunch time visits, I come up with a composite rating of 4.83 stars, which rounds easily and upward to a renewal of its 5-star rating. I will be stopping in more often as I become reacquainted with this fond old restaurant friend.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE meal. We were skeptical because of the location but I am so glad we gave it a shot. We got the laughing king and Venus de Milo oysters as an appetizer as well as the seared ahi tuna. The tuna could use some work, it didn't have any crust on it and not much seasoning at all, but the oysters were amazing. I got the crab cake entree and my husband got the aw shucks surf and turf. Both of our meals were outstanding and the service was excellent!!! We are visiting from New York or else we would definitely keep this restaurant in our rotation.

What a delightful night celebrating Valentine's Day and our anniversary at A W Shucks. We were able to make a reservation a week prior to driving down from northern VA. The she crab soup was rich and satisfying as a starter, and the broiled and steamed seafood we enjoyed was cooked to perfection. The Krispy Kreme bread pudding was unreal. I don't know of any place that has this dessert, but just know that when you taste it, it's like experiencing that euphoric feeling after the best [insert mind blown emoji here lol], I kid you not. The only thing that perhaps could take it over the top would be toasted, chopped pecans to create textural contrast. When my husband and I visit Norfolk and are able to have a date night, we go here and get reacquainted quite swimmingly in this charming, local staple.

This place is so homie and warm! Loved the esthetic and the food was really good! The standing bar is missed opportunity in my opinion. While we went it was a shift change and we stood at the standing bar but weren't served or helped I think it's more of storage area for them but that's a great opportunity for this waiting to be seated. The bar was full but the standing bar they didn't acknowledge us. Only down side was that and service they could use more servers but the spot has amazing n food ! We will for sure be back

The food is decent. The fish and chips is served with some type of thousand island type sauce. It's different and honestly doesn't really taste all that well with fish. The fries were amazing though. Crisp and salty. Everything you want in a good fry. The crab dip was also very different. It wasn't like any other dip I've had. It wasn't bad but as far as flavor goes I wouldn't put it down as a typical crab dip. The service wasn't too great. Only saw them to get the orders and deliver them. So take that for what it's worth. As far as the feel of the restaurant, it reminded me of a beach bar and I guess that's about it. Just beach bar food. Not the best but not the worst.

Y'all... we love oysters. Today, late lunch, stopped at this place which we found by reviews in Yelp. *BEST* oysters we have had in the continental USA. Laughing Kings... Fresh, sweet up front, perfectly balanced. Wow. As for the rest of the food... Great calamari, moist, crispy. Steamed clams are sweet and perfectly paired with garlicky collards and beans. Steamed shrimp, very good. Fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked. Surf and turf, medium rare cooked steak, seasoned. Plump shrimp, garlicky green beans and sumptuous fries. We shall be back.

Awwwwwwww shucks y'all! The name just reels ya in even though it's technically A.W., doesn't it? Came here for dinner with friends and boy did I struggle with finding the place. It's in the shopping center across from pixels next to the coastal place. Inside of restaurant is pretty tight. If sitting at a table, you will definitely be touching backs with the party behind you so we opted to sit at the big booth, but were told we had to be up by 8 (which was no problem!). Started off with the dragon berry drink which was cute & dainty; a bit watered down though. A lot of us ordered the crab cake sandwich so our waitress suggested it broiled for sake of flavor and...it's a no for me dawg. It just wasn't that good & I've been on a crab cake sandwich tour the last couple months with this being restaurant #3. The bun was also a little stale so I couldn't even eat that. The sauce it comes with though?? The fries??? The lemon cake cheesecake???? Yes, yes, and yes! The cake was immaculate. Tasted even better once I got home & left it in the fridge for a little bit. Service was good as well, would visit again.

Fabulous raw oyster daily selection..... had the laughing kings oyster today which were exquisite! Our server Samantha was fabulous and gave terrific recommendations! We shared the fish and chips ... place is a hidden gem. Good quality seafood

Went this evening and was denied service be the kitchen was closing in 20 mins. Was told they had a waitlist with tons of empty tables. Witnessed another family arrive that called ahead of time was told their kitchen closed at 8:30. They drove 20 minutes only to be turned around. Spoke with the manager Crystal who also told me I could not order from the bar. Will never return again. Customer service is the most important part of the a restaurant, hence it being called a SEVICE INDUSTRY. If I had to guess they were putting getting out of the restaurant early and didn't want to seat anymore guests to ensure an early night. Will never return.

Well this is my second time coming here. I have to say the food is mediocre. The drinks were wonderful. I didn't take a picture of my crab cake dinner with green and tomato/feta salad. My friend ordered the same the crab cakes with corn on cob and tomato salad. The tomatoes were large but like all the food on on the table, no flavor. This was the reason that I didn't review this place well before. Two strikes and they are out. If your going to spend the money and expect a really good plate of seafood, go elsewhere.

The place itself is small, but don't let that fool you. The food is pretty good. I had the catfish and it was very fresh, but it needed more seasoning . There is nothing really special about the mashed potatoes. The Caesar salad is sooo delicious! The ambiance can be off putting sometimes because it does get loud due to everyone being close to each other. The service is always good and the servers are very attentive.

Visiting my old stomping grounds and gave this hidden gem a try. Don't let the exterior fool ya. The food was amazing. Helped my self to 2 doz raw oysters plus shrimp. So delicious. Definitely will visit again when in the area.

An overall ok experience at A W Shucks. BTW, I love the name. We had originally intended to get some seafood to go, but the hostess told us that the kitchen was no longer taking orders. However, we saw a waitress taking the order of another table so (understandably) we were a bit confused. That said, we were told that it was fine for us to dine in, but we could not do carry out. You mean to tell me that you cannot prepare food to go, but it was fine to dine in? Couldn't someone just order food at a table, request to-go boxes, pack up their own food, pay, and leave? After dealing with the brief dine-in/carry-out confusion, things went pretty smoothly. Since I had a craving for crabcakes, I went with the crabcake sandwich with a side of hushpuppies. I will say that both my sandwich and hushpuppies were absolutely delicious. The sauce that accompanied the hushpuppies (a honey/butter concoction, I think) was out of this world amazing. If I'm back in the downtown area and have a craving for seafood, I more than likely would return to A W Shucks. Actually, I'll come back when I have a craving for seafood AND beer because the restaurant had a great list of cans/bottles and drafts of beers.

AW Shucks continues to be consistent with great food and service. We ate in (actually outside) and then got carry out several times while in VA Beach. Oysters to go were well packed in ice and fresh. The entrees were excellent. All you can eat crab days are fabulous. Be sure to get there In time. People line up!

I cannot believe that I have been sleeping on this place for so long. A W Shucks is tucked away on the corner of 22nd and Colonial in Ghent, and it's been on my list of places to try. I recently had a chance to stop in with a friend, and I'm glad that I did. I live for a good Po' Boy and their's was absolutely delicious as well as served a nice sized portion. I loved that they let me customize my sandwich with two different types of meat; I got buffalo shrimp on one side, and fried oysters on the other. Both sides were absolutely delicious, seasoned to perfection, and went so well with their house made the remoulade sauce. Even though both sides were delicious, I do have to say that I preferred the oysters to the buffalo shrimp. In addition, their "Summer in Winter" sangria with fresh fruit was nice and strong and had me sitting right after a hard week at work. Overall, I left A W Shucks full, tipsy, and happy. I wish I had more room to try one of their desserts, but I will try them on my next visit because I was seriously eyeing that Reese's cheesecake and that chocolate mousse cake.

Steamed mussels: fresh mussels steamed with white wine, garlic, smoked paprika, tomatoes, and scallions. It was an amazing appetizer. I needed more bread to soak up the white wine sauce. Grilled salmon on garlic roasted potatoes, onions, and tomatoes topped with sautéed asparagus and an herb-pepper goat cheese cream. It was delicious; the sautéed asparagus and an herb-pepper goat cheese cream was unique and worked well with the salmon. The potatoes, onion, and tomatoes were seasoned well. Crab topped flounder: broiled and topped with jumbo lump crabmeat sautéed with tomato, scallions, garlic, and butter. The quality of the seafood was great, hence the flavors was great. I had sides of corn and hush puppies. They were good too. My only complaint was the portion was small. Service was good overall.

Thoroughly impressed with this restaurant. I was in the area and craving seafood and saw this come up on Yelp! After just leaving a restaurant that had terrrrible customer service, I was hoping this wouldn't disappoint. It EXCEEDED my expectations, wow. I'm not local to the area but if I was, I'd probably be a frequent customer. there wasn't one thing I tried that wasn't delicious. I got the crab dip, tried some of the chicken and corn chowder and then had the flounder for dinner. Everything was flavorfully created and piping hot. My boyfriend got a shrimp po'boy which was LOADED with shrimp he couldn't even eat the entire thing. Our waitress was so attentive and kind, we will certainly be back.

It's been years since I've been here and I honestly wouldn't have come back but my coworker wanted seafood. I was pleasantly surprised, I had the shrimp po boy which was very tasty and done well with a side of fries. The food came out hot and fresh. One of my coworkers had the pan fried halibut lunch special and it was done well. The other had the garlic shrimp platter and he thought it could have been more garlics and needed more flavor.

I liked this restaurant and would definitely come back. I ordered the colonial crab dip for an appetizer and the surf and turf. The colonial crab dip is amazing! Best crap dip I've ever had. The surf and turf was fried shrimp, broiled crab cake and steak. It was good.

Hello Norfolk! What a way to bring in my first seafood dinner here! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with my food here. Well let me start off by saying we called in our order over the phone. They do have a few tables for outdoor seating. I saw maybe three. They do have the required six feet apart. I can't comment on the indoor seating because we never went in. The hostess had our food waiting outside upon arrival. They also offer curbside delivery if you prefer to stay in your car. You do have to prepay with a credit card if you order take-out over the phone. I have to say they had a nice online menu with a good selection of sides. Every meal came with two sides. Now when I first saw that macaroni and cheese. I was like no way. When I tasted it. I was humming another tune. I think I even had a foodgasm. It was so cheesy and unlike others. I'm all for trying new things including my food made differently. I swear to you I didn't even want to share it with my husband. I let him try it then said that's enough. My Catfish was fried perfectly. Our seafood was broiled but still had very good seasoning. What can I say! Everything was very flavorful and cooked to our satisfaction. As a matter of fact. We plan to stop by here on our trip back home to explore another dish. I'm super excited already. So give them a try. Oh and I noticed they stay open from 3 till 9pm. Wednesday, Thursday, and on the weekends. Closed Monday and Tuesday. They also offer plenty of nearby parking.
