"Koh Lipe stands out among its Chinatown neighbors for its lively atmosphere and its authentic southern Thai cooking. Set over two floors and boasting a popular terrace, this place just feels fun, a mood buoyed by the friendly young staff. The kitchen dishes out regional specialties that deliver heat and flavor in spades. Coconut green curry beef with plantain and stink bean is a classic bowl of piping hot, delicious comfort. The chef's specials are always a sure bet, but for those diners who may be less familiar with Thai food, the noodle dishes are a perfect introduction.Don’t worry if there is a line—they turn around tables swiftly, so you won’t be waiting long to bite into those meaty prawn tails served with a kicky lime-chili dip." - Michelin Inspector

My two favorite things to order are 🍽️ Mackerel fried rice. Fusion dish that makes sense. Lemongass meets smokey katsuobushi. Huge portion size. 🍽️Islamic noodles. Good balance of spicy, sweet, salty and rich. This time I discovered two new dishes and they were excellent! 🍽️ Rolled tofu skin with shrimp 🍽️ Deep fried frog legs. Highly recommend these dishes for your next trip to Koh Lipe! (Edit) thank you so much Koh Lipe for your in- depth feedback to my review. Honestly I have never received this type of warm & pleasant ( not generic ) feedback from the restaurant before. Thank you!!

Google
Koh Lipe brought the flavors and the fun! We kicked things off with the Tom Yum—nice and punchy with that classic tangy-spicy kick that wakes up your taste buds in the best way. The Green Curry was rich, creamy, and comforting, with just the right balance of heat and herbs. Then came the star surprise: Koe Sora Panda Toast for dessert 🐼🍞—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and dangerously easy to devour. Sweet, playful, and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, great vibes, solid Thai flavors, and a dessert that steals the show. A few tiny tweaks and this could easily be a 5-star spot—but for now, a very happy 4 stars and we’d definitely come back! 😋🌶️🍛

Koh Lipe Thai in Toronto carries itself with the quiet confidence of a restaurant that knows exactly what it is doing. Awarded a Michelin distinction in 2023, it lives up to the recognition with food that is thoughtful, generous, and deeply flavorful without ever feeling overworked. We began with the Pineapple Mint Smoothie, a one-litre share meant for the table. It arrived vibrant and icy, striking the perfect balance between ripe tropical sweetness and clean herbal freshness. It was refreshing rather than sugary, acting as both a drink and a palate cleanser, especially welcome alongside spicier dishes. The Moo Tod was immediately memorable. Perfectly fried pork that was crisp on the outside yet tender inside, it felt light and refreshing rather than heavy or greasy. The fried pork belly followed and leaned unapologetically into indulgence, with crackling skin and rich meat offset by a chili lime sauce that was spectacular. Bright acidity, heat, and citrus cut through the richness and elevated every bite. The Pad Thai showed restraint and skill. Rice noodles were coated evenly in tamarind sauce with a gentle sweetness and tang, while egg, tofu, bean sprouts, chives, and ground peanuts provided balance and texture. It felt classic, comforting, and carefully executed, with protein options that made it accessible without diluting its character. The Khao Pad Pla was bold and complex. Spicy fried rice with mackerel, egg, onion, carrot, and lemongrass delivered depth and savoriness, while katsuobushi flakes added a subtle umami lift. It was layered, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. With an extensive menu that even includes a keto section, Koh Lipe Thai manages to be inclusive without compromising quality. Everything we tried was delicious, thoughtful, and worthy of its Michelin recognition.

My son and I decided to go out to eat Thai food on Friday night. So without any reservations we braved it here. We were third in the queue.......after less than 10 minutes we were ushered to a table right outside the kitchen. The very pleasant lady who took our order recommended dishes to us. The service was fast and we started tucking in to the yummy spring rolls. The flat rice noodles was delicious and aromatic. The Mas Sa Man curry was wholesome and comforting. We cleaned up all the dishes leaving not a trace of any food. In the end we opted to share an ice-cream which like the rest of the great. On my next visit to Toronto I will definitely go again to try out some other dishes. Definitely the best place in town for Thai food.

Google
It definitely lives up to the hype. Great food with amazing ambiance. The staff is professional and polite. Better to reserve a spot instead of walk-ins because the lineup was crazy. Shrimp dumplings were delicious with a herby spicy sauce. Pad thai was really tasty and the portion was huge. We tried their pineapple curry which was a feature item with sticky rice. Sticky rice were sweet but the flavour of chicken balances out the dish. I also ordered thai iced tea and the sweetness was perfect in it.

Google
Have been to both spots now. Vibe is different here. More contemporary vs. what feels more traditional Southern Thai at the Scarborough location. Portions were a good size and we had a lot of food to take home. Everything was tasty but in both dishes that had squid, it was a bit on the chewy side hence the 4 stars

Google
I have been many times before. Unfortunately this time was disappointing. As soon as we sat we were told of a 1.5 hour table limit. So we were time conscious. The food came out quickly, again to encourage us the not linger. The restaurant felt very grungy and the food wasn’t flavourful. Lack of chilly on the mango salad (which is a must), the stinky pea curry tasted very powdery and not left to marinate properly. It was prepared in a rush. The mango sticky rice-though presents well -it should be written it’s presented in a white chocolate shell. I don’t like white chocolate so it was an unpleasant surprise. Due to the time limit I felt we were eating take out. We were in and out in 40 mins. Thoughts to the owners: Slow things down folks, we spent over $150 for 3 people, let us enjoy the visit.

Google
The order: chicken pad Thai, chicken pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, pork ribs panang curry, ma sa man. The pineapple fried rice is delicious with a hint of sweet coconut milk and the taste of smokiness from the wok it was prepared in, making it a good main dish. The meat from both curry is soft and easy to chew, and has a great soup base. The chicken pad Thai has the same smokiness as the fried rice but has a sweet taste making the flavour pair nice to eat. The pad see ew has a nice smoky taste and overall a good dish. Overall 5/5 would come again.

Yelp
I hadn't been in Toronto in a for a while and we decided to get Thai food when we were in town. Koh like didn't disappoint. The place was super busy on a Thursday night but fortunately we had reservations (highly recommend). It's also in a nice little neighbourhood on Baldwin Street which is a great area to wander around. The crispy tofu rolls were a little different from what I'm used to but in a really good way. They were fresh, crispy snd flavorful. The pad see ew was exactly what you want in a pad see ew. The crispy pork was also super flavorful and comforting. All in all the price, portion size and quality of the food was well worth the visit. When we're back in town we'll definitely stop by again.

Yelp
My buddy in town recommended Koh Lipe Thai Kitchen, which specializes in southern Thai food. It was bumping on a late weekday evening. They have a second location out in Scarborough. Service was okay but not particularly friendly. Main dishes are in the $18.95 to $38.95 price range. They asked for spice levels; opted for medium. - Jasmine rice - three dishes came with rice - Kor moo gaeng kua ($24.95) - pork jowl lost its crispy bite in the curry. Curry was slightly grainy - Beef pad mee kao ($21.95) - flat wide rice noodles had a great bite. A simple classic properly executed - Prik gaeng moo krob ($25.95) - good chunks of crispy pork. Nice with the curry underneath - Prik pao talay ($38.95) - generous amount of seafood (mussels, shrimps, squid and claims). Our favourite dish of the night

Yelp
Trusty, affordable, and delicious, Koh Lipe is the epitome of a Michelin Bib. While the space feels a bit cramped, service is prompt and there's plenty of interesting Thai fare to choose from - including beyond the typical dishes like Pad Thai. Everything I've ever tried here is delicious, making Koh Lipe a staple in my rotation!

Yelp
Got the chance to visit Toronto last weekend and our friend, who lives in Toronto, took us to Koh Lips for dinner! Since Toronto is known for Thai food, we wanted to see how it compares (and honestly can't compare to Vancouver's Thai scene!!!). We weren't able to get resos but fortunately walk in was only a 30min wait, so we had drinks at the cafe next door. We ended up being seated on the patio since it was so busy, but luckily weather's still nice. We ordered 4 dishes for 4 people and everything was so delish!!! Pad Thai is more on the sour side, compared to the sweet ones you might find in Vancouver. Mango salad was one of the best I've had and super refreshing to cut out the oils from the mains. My favourite was def the rice - flavours were strong but not overly salty. Lovely dinner and a good pick for those coming out of town!

Yelp
The food was AMAZING!! The islamic noodles were so flavourful (typically comes with an egg)! I didn't love the tofu in it but I'm sure the meat would taste better! Medium spicy was also decently spicy! The mango sticky rice was the BEST! I don't even like mango sticky rice and this is literally one of the best desserts I've had. The white chocolate shell was an AWESOME add and so was the puffed rice!! Service was super quick and staff was nice. Id recommend a reso before you go!

Yelp
I have been to Koh Lipe and gotten takeout a lot over the years, and only recently realized I never reviewed it. It's been one of my fav Thai places in Toronto.Unfortunately, this latest visit when I was pumped to finally write a review, it wasn't as good. They got a new expansion to the space next door and decor is quite different than the original space. More beach-feel, which I liked. The server was very nice and the food came out quickly with good portions. However the food wasn't as good as any of my previous visits. The spicy seafood platter has always been my go to and this time it didn't come out piping hot. I wouldn't say it was cold, but in the middle, it wasn't really warm. The crispy pork was tasty but had very chewy skin. It used to be very crispy. We also ordered the pineapple sticky rice with chicken curry. This was my second time having that and it was alright. We ended with some Thai ice cream; I enjoyed it but wasn't spectacular. Hopefully this was just a one time thing.

Yelp
Michelin guided restaurant so I decided to check it out. Michelin guided restaurant don't have any star by the way. Just a good place that to eat Thai food. Nothing fancy, they offer your typical Thai menu but with good quality and fresh ingredients. This is what a Thai restaurant supposed to be. Noddles are not soggy. Shrimp dumplings look handmade and fresh. They don't cheat and dump a scoop of msg like other Asian restaurant. This will be my baseline from now on if I go to a Thai restaurant 1.5hr limit on dining time btw.

Yelp
Met up w/ a friend and visited the OG location of Koh Lipe on a wednesday work day downtown. I believe it occupies the unit where Ryu's Noodle Bar used to sit. The resto is busy just like their uptown expansion in scarborough. The food was also very tasty. I definitely felt like the portions are smaller at this location than the scarbs location. There's also not much going on in the way of A/C so the heat gets to you really fast (they also open the doors frequently ... which Idk why they do this; patrons choose to sit inside to avoid the heat from outside). The moo tod (crispy pork) appetizer is cooked much better here than the other location. My islamic noodle bowl was flatter and smaller than the one used uptown. I also got less beef. My friend got more food in his fried rice dish. Service is way better at the uptown location. Friendlier servers and more frequent checkups. I think I prefer the uptown location of Koh Lipe more than the OG location.

Yelp
Koh Lipe is easily one of the best Thai spots in Toronto. I tried the khao soi and pandan dessert and both were excellent. We came on a Sunday night around 8:30 and it was still pretty busy, but there were plenty of tables and the service was good. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to, and recommending everyone try.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best Thai food I have ever ate. We were a group of five that came by for a friend's birthday. We didn't have reservations and we were shocked that we were sat so quickly. We were given a one and a half hour dining limit, and we could see through our time there that they really shuffle people in and out of there. That's the one thing that stopped me from giving this restaurant a five star because I felt the customer service wasn't there 100% Our server was prompt to come take our order. We ordered three appetizers to share before we each ordered our own main. Our appetizers were only on the table for what felt like five minutes before our mains came out, and it was a rush to clean the table so that they could make room for our main dishes which made me feel like I fully wasn't able to embrace the flavours of the appetizers we got. Needless to say, the food quality was absolutely amazing. The Thai tea ice cream was a favorite.

Yelp
Tucked away on Baldwin street, Koh Lipe doesn't seem like much at first glance. I ordered the pad Thai and khao soi. I normally prefer khao soi over pad thai but theirs was JAW DROPPING. the flavour and texture of the noodles were so good that I didn't even realize pad thai could be that great. It's one of those dishes where you know you'd enjoy anywhere, but theirs honestly took my breath away. The Khao Soi came with braised beef and it was very soft and tender. Service was amazing as well and the outdoor patio felt very cozy. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone
google avatar

Yelp
Wow this location is 10 times better than the scarb one. Cool special dishes that are so unique & delicious. I had the snow crab with blue vermicelli dish and it was absolutely delicious - very different from all the other viet places. Would come back for other unique dishes!
google avatar

Harshini R.

Yelp
I've ordered from here before but this was my first time dining at the restaurant. Cute spot with quite a bit of seating, but they do cram tables. They mention several times that you've only got an hour and a half for your reservation and that they don't split bills. However, if the place is empty, they don't rush you. We got the pad see ew, pad gra pow, and Islamic noodles. All the dishes were tasty, but I expected it to be spicier. We also got the bi co moi for dessert and it was a relatively decent size. Overall, they have great food.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem of authentically prepared Thai food and we are so grateful we stumbled upon it! It's tucked into a neighborhood bordering Chinatown and we had no idea of its popularity when we found it and realized how hungry we were. We were asked if we had reservations at 2pm in the afternoon and we thought they'd turn us away when we said no, but they didn't! We were seated and told we had an hour, which was fine with us! I would go back here a thousand more times if I lived in Toronto, and I'll definitely be back next time we visit!
google avatar

Elle G.

Yelp
Some upfront details -- You should also know that if you reserve on OpenTable that they will put a $20 hold pp on your credit card to ensure you show up. The other thing to note is that they will not allow separate or split bills for the table. They will only allow 1 bill for the entire table and you'll have to sort it out for yourself. Not something I have seen in recent times anywhere else. This is a Michelin recommended restaurant. Very laid back but festive vibe. The good: - Excellent Pad Thai (either chicken or shrimp). The table was unanimous about that. - The braised beef Khao soi was pretty good as well - prices are very reasonable including those for wine and cocktails. - service was prompt. The not so good: - we ordered appetizers and had barely started eating them when our mains showed up (I'm talking like 2-3 minutes here). All of a sudden we are scrambling to find space on the table and then have to decide what do we let get cold. - we ordered the Gai Gor Lae and it did not look like the picture and indeed the sauce did not taste like coconut curry to me but instead almost like a bbq sauce. Live and learn I guess. I will say that when someone came by and asked how we were doing, we did tell them what happened. They then spoke to the manager and removed one item from our bill and gave us a discount on the appetizers. That was appreciated. I would just caution people to be aware when ordering. And make sure you tell your server you want the appetizers first and some time before the mains come over. For a Michelin recommended restaurant we did expect more. Just saying. It's located on Baldwin so not a ton of parking close by. Some street and a couple of Green P lots a decent walk away.

Yelp
I've been back here twice, which says a lot considering the endless selection of restaurants in Toronto. Koh Lipe's menu is fantastic, and the food tastes incredibly good. It has a cozy atmosphere and the decorations reflect Thailand's charm. The service here is brilliant. The staff are kind and sweet without being overbearing. I wish more restaurant staff could adopt the same attitude. Every time I leave, I feel great on every level. So, I'm confident bringing people here, knowing it'll leave a great impression. This place is absolutely worth it. Plan ahead and get a reservation to avoid having to wait.
google avatar

Joy M.

Yelp
Wow, honestly the best mango salad I've ever had. So fresh. The pad Thai was excellent with big chunks of chicken and lots of noodles. Loved it. The shrimp dumplings were chock full of shrimp. I'd go back just for the shrimp. This is my new favorite Thai restaurant. Why did it take me so long to discover it?! Service was perfect. Quick and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back next
google avatar

Elaine C.

Yelp
When our friend suggested that we give Koh Lipe a try, I had my reservations... we've gone to the one in Scarborough and it wasn't what we would expect from a Michelin Star rated restaurant. The food really did not taste very good. We were seated pretty much right away around 5:30pm on a Sunday night. I LOVED the decor of the room and it was so fitting on World Oceans Day. I felt like we were in an underwater cave. We ordered the Khao Neow Gaeng (pineapple curry chicken with coconut sticky rice) which was very delicious. It had good heat which paired well with the coconut sticky rice. Much tastier than any curry we had uptown. The pad Thai was perfect for the kids. As was the Pad See Ew. They also liked the Khao Soi and Khao Pad (pineapple fried rice). Yum Ma Muang (Mango Salad) was really good, Gaeng Keow Whan (green curry) was flavourful but too spicy for the kids.
google avatar

Laura T.

Yelp
We went back in December and the food was still amazing! This has been a place I recommended to many people who are looking for Thai. They recently moved their Uber deliveries to the back door to help with the customer experience at the restaurant!
google avatar

Becky C.

Yelp
Delicious!! Getting a reservation was easy and we were sat promptly at a very nice table. Thank goodness we had a reservation because it was really busy. The iced milk tea was delicious!! Maybe my favourite I've had. I ordered the pineapple curry chicken with the coconut rice and I really liked it but would have liked maybe more coconut in the rice. I also tried the khao soi which was amazing! I think it was slightly better than the chicken dish. Excited to come back
google avatar

Huiying J.

Yelp
Overall the food is good but I'm not sure it is as good as Michelin. The fish is not very tasty. And I also don't really like Khao Mun, which tastes a little bit weird. But overall price is fair. And the service is good. The place is a little bit crowded. But second floor is better.
google avatar

Arabhy T.

Yelp
Food is so flavourful and the aroma hits as soon as you walk in and spice levels are very accurate would definitely be going back and service was fast and lots of seating for a downtown Toronto restaurant
google avatar

Sheree Z.

Yelp
Expect a little line when arriving but it's pretty quick! MUST KNOW: 1. One bill / no splitting 2. Your group has 1.5 hr to eat 3. The food does take a while to come out MUST ORDER: -coconut soup (one of my favorite dish of the night. Sad I didn't get a photo)
google avatar

Yelp
One day I was walking down the street and saw this place. I saved it and I knew I had to come back. Well I did and when I say the food was hitting! Listen if you are in Toronto visiting and looking for a casual place to get some good eats then Koh Lipe is for you. I recommend getting reservations as the wait time for a table during the week is about 20-30 minutes. The staff is really good and also very open to giving you recommendations. And when they say spicy they mean spicy. I highly recommend trying this place out.
google avatar

Jayme H.

Yelp
I was in town and in charge of making a dinner reservation for my small group and I. The reviews on Yelp for Koh Lipe are beaming and they have two Michelin awards, it's gotta be great right? We arrived for our reservation right on time and discovered a colorful restaurant with quirky decor. A nice front patio with lanterns and flowers hanging from the ceiling. When you walk inside, you'll run into a taxi adorned in twinkle lights and murals all over the walls. Our table was upstairs near the window, which made for a lovely breeze. It look me a hot minute to decided what to eat and drink. I started with a smokey negroni and the table shared the goong moun - fried crispy tofu rolled with shrimp carrot, chili, and served with a nice sauce. You can find it on their special menu. We also went with the basic spring rolls. The goong moun was asbolutely delicious and it was a recommendation from our server - thank you, thank you. For my entree I got the konng ob woonsen hot plate. In translation it's a steamed glass noodle dish with shrimp and some veggies and herbs. It also came with a side of their chili lime sauce which was delicious drizzled over top. This dish is enormous and I had more than enough to take back with me. Overall, I totally get the hype. The vibe was fun, the food was good, and the service was top notch too. I would totally come again.

Yelp
This is my go-to spot for Thai food--consistently satisfying and reliable. Great fast and friendly service. Good ambiance. I always order the same lineup because it hits every time: Peek Gai Tom Yum (Chicken Wings) - $15.95 Geow Goong (Shrimp Dumplings) - $13.95 Pad Thai Pad See Ew with Chicken (Mild) - $24 Mas Sa Man (Tamarind Curry) with Braised Beef (Mild) - $26 The flavors are balanced and everything travels well for takeout.
google avatar

Amelia K.

Yelp
We ordered chicken pad thai, beef khao soi, and goong moun (tofu shrimp roll). All the dishes were amazing, but we loved the chicken pad thai the most! The portion of dishes were big! we couldn't finish them all. One last thing, inside was a bit chilly due to the A/C, so I suggest bringing a jacket. I gave it 4.5 because the server ignored our request to go easy with the A/C a bit.
google avatar

Tony F.

Yelp
The food was fairly tasty. Came here because of the Micheline recommendation. The special menu looked interesting, and everything we ordered was pretty good. The crispy pork wasn't all that crispy, but the mixed rice bowl dish was fantastic. The seafood salad wasn't as flavorful as we were expecting. We were warned multiple times about the seating limit time of an hour and that there was no bill splitting. But couldn't helped but feel pressured to keep moving along our meal at various times. For some reason there is a fly problem. It felt like we were eating out side even though we weren't. Spent much of the night swatting at these flies.
google avatar

Janice Y.

Yelp
I've been to Koh Lipe a few times now and a couple times recently to give you some suggested dishes. If you don't have a stellar tolerance of spice, I would suggest getting the Goong Moun (crispy tofu wraps over shrimp) as an app. The sauce has a bit of a kick to it but not too bad. I also like the Islamic Noodle, Koon Ob Woonsen (glass noodle hot plate) and pad gra prao with crispy pork. The glass noodles are piping hot and you'll have enough leftovers for another meal. I also tried their special curry with the pork jowl, betel leaf. It was tasty but I thought it was too spicy for my liking. Unfortunately many of their curries can't be adjusted for spice so you've been warned. Not many spots offer durian sticky rice and they do! It's good, but I'm not sure if I prefer it to mango. Decor is charming with the Thai Tuk Tuk outfront and a spacious patio during the warmer months. They have seating upstairs and on the main floor. Reservations are recommended nowadays given that they are buzzing from being on the Michelin Guide list. However, walk-ins are not long of a wait on the weekdays if you come closer to 9pm.
google avatar

Yelp
Went on a friend's recommendation and the restaurant is really cute! There seems to be a lot of different sections to the restaurant so it is bigger than how it looks. We were able to get walk in seating as they were not picking up the phones when we tried to make a reservation. Service was attentive and the food came out lightening fast! They specialize in South Thai food which I'm not as familiar with but it seems to be A LOT spicier than the Thai food I'm more familiar with! We got the following: Goong Moun $15.95 (spicy) Fried crispy skin tofu rolled with shrimp, carrot, chilli, betel leaf and served with Arjard sauce. Favorite dish of the night! Gaeng Ka Ti Sa Tor Nua 25.95 (spicy) Coconut green curry beef with plantain and stink bean. My MIL tried the stink bean and said it was the spiciest thing she ever had so I got scared and didn't try it. SUPER spicey almost to the point of un-enjoyableness. This was a dish that was recommended. Mango Salad -- fresh and tasty Shrimp Pad Thai -- noodles had a nice al dente chew but the sauce seemed heavy and too rich Pad See Ew -- classic and tasty dish with lots of meat and veggies

Yelp
Gaeng gai khao mun Pad thai Gai tod hat yai Mango-licious Thai tea ice cream Hands down one of the best Pad Thais in Toronto--perfectly chewy noodles, rich tamarind sauce, and that crunch from the peanuts? Chef's kiss. Paired it with a Thai-inspired cocktail that hit all the right notes--refreshing, citrusy, with just a touch of sweetness.

Yelp
This was my second or third time at Koh Lipe and similar to the first, the food was on point. They're known for their southern Thai dishes, something you typically do not get at your local Thai place. They also have Michelin star for 2022 and 2023 so you know the food IS all that. I got a southern curry with stink bean, coconut milk and beef. I was warmed it would be spicy so I also got the Thai milk tea for the dairy. Can confirm the curry was spicy, but it was totally worth it. Absolutely delicious. Best Thai food I've had. 10/10 would be back!

Yelp
We love this restaurant, the service is exceptional! The place is clean, the staff are so well trained to know everything on the menu, and are quick to respond to your concerns. The food is quite delicious. Our staple go to dish and my personal favourite is pad ew drew, which comes in chicken or tofu, and has a kinda sweet and sour flavour. We also got the pineapple chicken, which is a little spicy, but tolerable, and it comes with yellow coloured sticky coconut rice, which I think is a great accompaniment. We ordered two dishes we haven't tried before, the shrimp sizzling pot, which has nice jumbo shrimp but the noodles just tasted like they were drown in fish sauce. The second was the crab curry with blue noodles, which I found to be in spicy coconut curry, and good chunks of blue crab, but I didn't think it was worth the hype. We really enjoy every visit to this restaurant, but honestly hate the wait time to be seated for the dinner rush,.., so if you can plan ahead, and book your reservation, please do it! And enjoy your meal!!

Yelp
Specializing in Southern Thai Cuisine, this restuarent is decorated to make you feel as if you're in a restuarant in Thailand, and has a cozy but lively atmosphere. Unless you're ok with waiting a bit, reservations are recommended, as it can get pretty busy here. There was also a 1.5 hour seating limit the Saturday afternoon visited. The Baldwin location has two levels of indoor seating with a covered patio out front. The service was good, the staff were all very friendly, and the food was also enjoyable. There were several special menu items that are not available at other Thai restaurants, such as the Khao Neow Gaeng (stir-fried pineapple curry chicken with coconut curry sticky rice). I wish they had the option to choose the spice level of this dish, because it was a little too spicy for me. However, for those who like food with some heat, and pineapple, this dish is highly recommended.

Yelp
Went for a work dinner and enjoyed the meal -- very delicious food and quick service (although not a fan of the digital QR menus). Great neighborhood spot

Yelp
What a cute place. The vibes are so neat! The staff were on top of thing and the food was mind blowing. Big portions and so much flavour. The staff was great at making recommendations. I'm still fantasizing about it. The Islamic noodles were my favourite. They were spicy but so good! We over ate for sure because it was all so good! Goong Moun the Rudy skin spring rolls were really neat to try and had interesting flavours. The Khao Pad Pla was like nothing I've ever had! Fried rice with mackerel fish. egg, onion, carrot, lemongrass and topped with kastuobushi flakes. I can't wait to go back and try more.

Yelp
A Michelin Guide Thai restaurant that is the one and only Southern Thai cuisine in North America. Made resos and arrived on time, was seated prompted after. The ambiance was nice and colourful. The servers were also great in getting our orders in and service of our food was timely. I've been to the uptown Koh Lipe before and loved it, so knew I would love my experience at their downtown location as well. Here's what we got: Goong Moun - Fried crispy skin tofu rolled with shrimp, carrot, chili, betel leaf, and served with Arjard sauce. So good and taste so meaty even though it's vegetarian! The sauce was amazing! Poh Pia Tod - A veggie spring roll served with plum sauce. Great for sharing with your table. A crispy start - can't go wrong with this. Pina Colada Slush 5/5 - Love that this came in a slush form. Has 1.5 oz. coconut rum, 0.5 oz pineapple rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice. It was truly a vacation in a cup! Guey Tiew Khaek (Islamic noodles) 5/5 - Rice noodle with boiled egg, peanut and red curry gravy. Can be ordered with veggies or beef. Love love love this dish, as it's nice and saucey, just the way I like my food! A great spot to come with friends and family. Delicious, hearty, deep flavours all around. Vegetarian options are also available here.

Yelp
Many people have recommended Koh Lipe to me and I finally got around to trying it - I wouldn't say that I was blown away (considering it is on the Michelin Guide) or feel like it is the best Thai restaurant in Toronto, however, it was a solid meal with big portions and authentic Thai flavours. I was feeling adventurous so everything we ordered was off the special menu. We ordered Pad Mee - a southern Thai style Pad Thai, Goong Moun - fried crispy skin tofu stuffed with shrimp; and Khao Pad Pla - fried rice with mackerel. Everything was tasty, though I probably would not get the Pad mee again. The sauce was too sweet for me and it became quite goopy with the thin rice noodles. On the other hand, the shrimp was cooked to perfection! My favourite was the fried rice with mackerel, I was afraid that it may be too fishy but it was absolutely delicious. The service was pretty good considering that they were already very busy at 12:30pm on a Saturday. I wasn't a fan of the loud music though...they were playing a bunch of hits from the 2000s (which I normally love) but it felt like an odd choice and didn't git the ambience. Would I come back again? Probably. But I don't think it jumped to the top of my list of favourite restaurants in the city.

Yelp
Husband's nephew brought us here while we were in town visiting, and we enjoyed it very much! We ordered the pad thai, pork belly (moo Tod), khao pad pla fried rice, Islamic noodles, and pineapple curry shrimp (khao neow gaeng). All were delicious, but we personally loved the pad thai, pork belly, and fried rice the best. Best pad thai in a long time.

Yelp
I can see why this place is Michelin recommended year after year. The flavour is phenomenal here and the portions are HUGE. The seating is a little bit tight but I think they have 2 floors to compensate. It's usually a reservation only place but we were lucky to just walk in one day and get a seat. The prices range from $15 to $40 depending on what you're ordering. Most noodle dishes sit at around $25. I'd love to come back to try some of their rice dishes and other chef specialties.

Yelp
We heard this was Michillan recomended so we decided to check it out. We were pretty hungry so we got eggs roles, kao soi, pad Thai and mango sticky rice. Usually kao soi is easily my favorite but I liked their phad Thai more. Both were rustic and leaned into the dry spices which I think worked better for the had Thai. It also had stretchy noodles and well cooked veggies. I wished the tofu was a bit crisper but most places do it that way so we rarely get crunchy tofu. The kao soi had great contrast of flavores and textures like usual and the egg roles seemed home made which some places seems uncommon. At first the mango sticky rice threw us off. They have a sugar coating that looks like a mango so you have to break through it to get to the frrsh mango inside but we thought it was just a super frozen mango which would have been offputting. The sugary coconut milk mixed well with the rice and it came together well. The atmosphere is pretty decent. It feels a bit underwater themed with blue projected lights, hanging fake plants and hanging lights. I always prefer real plants but at least the lights made that a bit better. The staff is friendly and quick which is always a plus as well. Overall a good spot.

Yelp
Food was amazing and for the price - even better. Only issue that left a bad taste in our mouths was the hostess tried to put us in their sister restaurant 4 doors over several times even though I made a reservation with 4 of my friends for my birthday. She only said our table was "up the stairs" and pointed in a different direction. No further explanation. She did this flippant gesture to this other restaurant twice until we insisted on sitting at Koh Lipe since that's where we made our reservation. Other than that, it was a good experience. Thai green tea and the pandan toast dessert is a must get.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food!! Tried their pad thai and khao meow gaeng and both were so tasty and flavorful. The pineapple curry chicken comes spicy and the lowest spice level offered was "medium", so there definitely was quite a bit of heat to it. But the coconut sticky rice balanced it out perfectly. I highly recommend getting their thai iced tea as well! It's one of the best I've ever tried. Service was pretty quick despite it being busy and us being there at peak lunch time.

Yelp
My third time visiting this restaurant. The food doesn't disappoint. It's always a bit crowded so reservations are a good idea.

Yelp
I decided to give this Michelin Guide-listed restaurant a try. After visiting twice, I found the food to be inconsistent, and the customer service was quite slow though that may be expected in the downtown core. The ambiance was excellent, making you feel as if you'd been transported to Thailand, which enhanced the dining experience. That said, I've had better Thai food elsewhere; for example, Koh Lipe in Scarborough offered more consistent dishes and far more generous portions. Still, this spot is worth a try if you're looking for easy, tasty Thai food in the city.

Yelp
Koh Lipe is the one of the popular Thai spots in Toronto known for winning the Michelin Bib Gourmand award last year. Despite being a later afternoon around 2pm, Koh Lipe was quite busy and got lucky that it was easy to get a table despite having no reservation. The menu is online through a QR code with images included for each menu item (which is helpful for the unfamiliar dishes). Islamic Noodles: Really delicious strong flavours. Great portion sizes for what you get. It wasn't too spicy so if you usually like mild spice this is a good option. The noodles were a great texture and didn't get too soggy. Overall, I would come back again to try out their other dishes as they had a lot of interesting dishes that I haven't seen. I would highly recommend checking it out.
