Altered Species Ales is the best brewery in Sioux Falls! It's convenient location (between the west Mall7 entrance and South side of Scheels) makes it the perfect stop. You'll find a variety of brews- their own and guest taps, and several can options too. They are dog friendly, family friendly, have pizza and snack options, allow you to bring your own food, and a great environment to connect with those around you!

Mike is an awesome individual, and runs a great business. Good selection of both Tap and canned beers. Also has N/A options, a couple simple wines and snacks. Whether we take some cans to go, or have some Taps, our dogs sure love it!

Great tap room with 16 draft selections on the wall and numerous singles to choose from. All can be viewed on Untappd. Can't wait until they start brewing their own.

Mike uses his extensive knowledge of brewing and beer to help you select the best beer for your palate. His welcoming attitude and exceptional customer services makes this a "must stop"!

This place is a gem. The owner and staff are super friendly. It’s a favorite spot to stop when I have friends visiting from out of town.

A hidden gem in the back of the mall with a great patio and an even greater indoor seating arrangement that is dog friendly inside and out. The beertender was a superstar navigating my horrible palette.

7/6/24 update Not much to update. New food option with Pizza Cheeks. Taps still rotate. Service always great. Still 5 stars still highly recommend for any craft beer lovers Original review: Been several times. Always great service, taps constantly rotate. Venue constantly doing events from painting mini figures to crib to music. I know friends that go often and if I lived closer I would come at least once a week. Heard there's plans to make beer on site and excited for it.

I think I had one of the best sour beers in Sioux Falls! Was in the area and came here to visit for the first time, super glad I stopped! I had the sour and it was incredible! My partner had the two IPAs and he really enjoyed them as well. We went in on a quiet part of the day so we got to enjoy our company and talk with our amazing bartender. Can't wait to come back to Sioux Falls and try some more!

Stop #22 (7/10 for SD) on our Hundreds of Hops self-guided US Hop Passport Brewery Tour Amazing Brewery Race 2025 Altered Species was the SD Stop that I was most excited about. They didn't disappoint. Staff didn't rush us, despite our too close to closing arrival. We tried everything item on tap & all of them were solid. It was even a recommend Stop at the previous one.

Great beers and service. You need to try this place! Mike is a great brewer and has brought in awesome beers. Love the ambience.
