"Opened on October 5, 2012 as one of the most anticipated restaurants in America, this Upper King spot stood out for its Craftsman-style interiors, a large live-fire grill nicknamed the “Grates of Hell,” and chef Nathan Thurston’s menu featuring wood-grilled blue crab soup, deviled eggs, big steaks, and whole Appalachian trout. Over the years it cycled through several chefs but remained an upscale grill anchored in wood-fired cooking.
