The 38 Best Restaurants in Seoul, South Korea - Eater

"Chef Jo Woo-Ram worked for five years at Maison Verot, a famous charcuterie restaurant in Paris, before opening Maison Jo, Seoul’s leading French charcuterie house. The takeout menu of high-quality charcuteries includes pate, terrine, and saucisson, all made from Korean ingredients, as well as baguettes and other French breads and pastries made by patissier Lee Eunhee. Maison Jo’s jambon-beurre — a generous amount of butter and jambon blanc stuffed between slices of housemade baguette — is one of the city’s best sandwiches. You can also pick up premium European groceries such as olive oil, vinegar, and various natural wines." - Matty Kim

Hard to make a reservation but worth it. The best Charcuterie ever! The space is not enough but they serve sincerely. All menus are wonderful. I love to visit again.

Hidden in the back alley of the main street. Quality food with a hint of French bistro. Highly recommend if you are a fan of French food.

French Charcuterie. small and have one table. From Thursday or Friday, you can have dishes there, but seems reservation is required I guess. I never tried having dishes there. Owner is so kind and gives the best tips for each.

While it's a hole in the wall this place is exploding with choices of meats, cheeses, pastries, and other French condiments. Friendly and knowledgeable service can help you make the best choice.

I got a recommendation about Maison Jo and to be honest I wasn’t expected a so high quality of the products. I took out different products: Saucisson sec, chorizo, saucisson a l’ail, rillettes, merguez, boudin noir, merguez, pâte en croûte. All was good and like in France. I strongly recommend this restaurant/traiteur. Portions are big and the cost is not too high. The restaurant is well located and offers a large variety of wines and breads.

Their ham sandwich is really amazing and the place is worth visiting for a weekend brunch with family and friends. All the dishes are quite good quality. It’s one of those places where you want to visit again every couple months.

As a French living in Seoul, I can confidently say that Maison Jo is the real deal when it comes to Charcuterie. Everything taste amazing but we definitely have some favourites: - my kids are particularly found of the garlic sausage - my wife love their « jambon beurre » sandwich - I love their salad (the « carrots vinaigrette » are so good we regularly stock up on them…) and their duck paté. If you love charcuterie or simply want to discover it, you can’t go wrong going to Maison Jo. Ps: the « pain de campagne » is also probably one of the best in Seoul with the one you can find at « Pain Asser » in Seorae Maeul.
