I’m from Florida and when I come to New Orleans I make that two hour driver just to have their crawfish boudin. It is soo worth the drive because not only the food is delicious but the customer service is top tier

Great place for fresh Cajun and Creole butcher cuts! Boudin is some of the best you will ever find. The service is delivered with love and tenderness only found in southwest Louisiana! This is a must stop!

Good boudin, I didn’t taste the crackling because they ran out at 11:00 am. They close between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm on Saturday and reopen on Tuesday at 6:00 am. They use a number system which seems to be very efficient. Be sure to take a number because they have many customers who travel long distances to shop here. They also sell a variety of meats.

If you're looking for an old style butcher shop, then this is your stop. All kinds of pork products, freshly cut and fresh sausages of all kinds. If you're looking for boudin, this is your place. The crawfish boudin was amazing and the shrimp boudin was awesome. They also have frozen sausage to enjoy later. The service is very friendly and helpful as well. A joy to shop here.

We're from Tennessee and bosited Legnon's today to get local meats to take home. The place was very clean and the workers were very helpful to show us various meats used for local cuisine. I highly recommend this place if you're anywhere near New Iberia, Louisiana.

Great customer service as always but today the crawfish boudin was everything but crawfish and the 4% service charge just solidified why I will never drive another 3 hours and spend over $100 to patron this store again. We used to love driving here for the ride to get great boudin and spend a couple hundred dollars. Being disappointed, I called and spoke to one of the owners about my "crawfish" boudin and asked if they were experiencing a drought with their crawfish. He replied, no and that they actually put more crawfish in their boudin this time. I'm like sir, no way. I've been coming here since 2018 and I know the difference. There was more rice and seasoning as opposed to what it's advertised as. I mean, honestly, if he'd said yeah, we're experiencing the same 2024 crawfish season drought that has been happening everywhere because of the saltwater intrusion, then I could understand but to lie and deny the difference was asinine. I thought perhaps they have loads of crawfish frozen somewhere to avoid a drought but the difference between the prior year's crawfish boudin in shape, color and taste is very noticeable from the 2024's boudin. Today's boudin looks like red hot links on steroids minus the red color. C'mon, just be honest, sheeeesh! While the truth matters, I won't be back anymore. Take a look at the pics and you can see the difference. Today, I bought seasoned rice boudin and not crawfish boudin.

If you're looking for a real place with a real butcher this is the place. As soon as you walk in your greeted by some great people. You can shop the window or ask for what you want and he will cut it for you right then. No need to call ahead. The meat is fresh and has clean as you can get anywhere.

My grandmother first took me here as a kid and I've been coming ever since from Texas. She loved this place. Nobody has ever came close to topping the crawfish boudin I've had a lot of crawfish boudin and no one can come close to Legnons. The sweet lady's behind the counter make you want to buy everything lol. I had the shrimp boudin for the first time and it was good. I let my buddy try some and it was a must we stopped here coming in from Alabama to Houston he is taking some back to Denver. Only thing seems like it isn't as spicy as it use to be but the quality is always there. I'm convinced the lady's but love in the food. I will always come back.

Y'all....we got their boudin balls and crawfish boudin...the greatest! We wish we got more to freeze they were that good! The Boudin balls are stuffed with cheese and the greatest boudin I've tried. They close around 1 on weekend so get there early, it's very close to the Tabasco Factory and Jungle Gardens! Absolutely worth a stop!

Best boudin in Louisiana, hands down. I was born and raised in New Orleans, but we have family in New Iberia so my mother has been feeding us this boudin all my life. However I never fully appreciated how good this stuff was until I got older and started to try other places while living in Lafayette for a year. Nothing compares. We started bringing this stuff out to our Saints tailgate a few years back, and it blew everyone away. (It's hard to find quality boudin in New Orleans) Since then it's become a mainstay of the tailgate, my mother still drives two hours every few months just to stock up on it.

I love Legnon's I live in Los Angeles and come here every time I visit New Iberia! They have quality food and it's tasty! My favorite is definitely the crawfish boudin and boudin balls.

This is THE best boudin I have ever had. Clean flavors, well balanced, and not overly greasy. Great texture as well. Legnon's is a clean establishment and the owners are very personable and friendly. When you walk in, the butcher case is up front and it works by a "number" system (which I think is quite nice). Grab a number card and wait for it to be called. Most of the time you'll have plenty of time to decide on your order. This place is well worth the drive if you get the opportunity. Five stars!

This is just a butcher, not a restaurant, but I came here on the Tabasco tasting tour, so they'd prepared up some boudin (both kinds, pork and crawfish) and pork cracklins for us tourists to eat. This is supposed to be the best boudin in all Acadiana, and it was certainly the best I had: rich and creamy, not crumbly as in most versions. The cracklins were equally amazing, with not just fat attached but some meat too, putting the ones you get at Mexican groceries out here in California to shame. Had opportunity permitted, I'd have come back for some boudin for my hotel microwave (it's already cooked, and they say you can heat it up that way).

We stopped during our Tabasco culinary tour. My wife and loved the Boudin, Boudin balls, and cracklings. Ted and his wife took time out of their busy day to visit with us. We enjoyed the leftovers for dinner and bought some frozen Boudin and Boudin balls to share with our friends later that week. We highly recommend stopping by if your in the area!

This was stop three on my fat man's lunch outing for boudin and cracklins. Boudin: literally the best I've ever had, so it definitely was the best in New Iberia. Cracklins: My preference is for cracklins with the little bit of meat at the end. Legnon's doesn't have that, but what they DO have is a cracklin that is far superior to cracklins of ordinary men. It's like the Superman of cracklin. The Ted Dibiasi of fried pork skin. The penultimate product of proud porcine predecessors. It's legit, yo.

I went in for some meat products with my 5 month old in one arm. The service was fast & friendly. The gal that cut the chuck roast for me carried my bags to the minivan for me. Excellent service!! P.S. We also bought a turkey roll from them for Thanksgiving. It's a de-boned turkey with yummy Cajun spices.

Legnon's Boudin (capitalized out of sheer respect!) was the hit of the party at a recent Cajun feast in our San Diego home. The boudin was flown here and hand carried by a friend from the New Iberia area. Being from the Gulf Coast, I thought I had eaten boudin before, boy was I wrong. Legnon's boudin was the BEST I have ever had and as far as I am concerned, the last I'll ever eat. Our guests, all Cali natives, are now and forever, Legnon's boudin fans. The meat mixture and the finely minced onions, herbs, etc...have made me a true and loyal customer! As long as Legnon's will ship to Southern California or wherever I may be, they are my "go to" boudin! I only hope I will get to visit the boucherie in person sometime soon.

A home town favorite!!! Staff and owners are always smiling, welcoming, and friendly. I would say their boudin (pork, shrimp, crawfish) is the best in town. They have early closing hours and close with no notice if they are on vacation BUT it doesn't matter because it is a great establishment all around and customers will just comply (me included). One of the greatest aspects is the shrimp boudin option and the seasonal crawfish option. For people who do not eat pork and love boudin these are a lifesaver. Not only is there cooked boudin available but it's a Boucherie so various cuts of meats, sausages and more are available. The parking lot is always filled with cars. The inside is always filled with customers but they have accommodated customers by having a pull number system and a couple benches (seating area) to sit and wait for orders to be prepared if necessary. There are 2 registers now that speeds things along and you can see the teamwork in action on busy days. This business deserves your business!!! Best Boudin in the Berry!!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! My parents grew up in the Lafayette/New Iberia area and even though I was born and raised in San Diego, I've been coming here for years! Every time we take a trip to LA, I always always always beg my parents to come to Legnon's and it's NEVER. A disappointment. Their boudin is the best I've ever had!! It's seriously one of my favorite things to eat!!!

Best Boudin on the Bayou Teche! The Queen city has many meat shops and almost every corner store have links to buy. Legnon's is a 'Berry' institution. You can always expect quick and friendly service. They wrap it up nice for you, the only thing missing the the bow! Sit in your car for lunch and chow down on this delicious chow. You will be in heaven!

That is good Cajun specialty food, not as much as some other, but the place is not as big either so it is fine.. Great boudin , super clean place and friendly people. My favorite place to go for Cajun boudin in New Iberia.

It's a matter of opinion of course, but I find their boudin (either regular or crawfish) to be very greasy compared to other kinds I've tried. I mean, I prefer mine to be more like rice dressing in a casing, but there's drips an orange tinted grease when you eat it, if that gives you an idea. I prefer the brisket boudin from Bi-Lo on Lewis St. It's so much better. Their pork sausage is nice. I have only tried a few things from this place, so perhaps I just haven't tried the right thing. Staff is very friendly and knows what is in the products. Location is easy to find and clean.

First time having pork and crawfish boudin and man ole man we will definitely be back to get more before we leave town. All of the staff was very kind and even helpful to find places around town of things to do. What great Southern hospitality! I would definitely recommend this to anyone in the surrounding area's to stop in and grab you something to take home. The Boudin was fresh, served hot and spicy just like I love it!!! Best. Boudin. Ever. I'm from Wyoming, married into a cajun family from New Iberia. On my very first trip to Louisiana to visit his family, I was introduced to the delicacies of the area. Boudin is BY FAR my favorite cajun food, and Legnons is by far the best I've had! We moved to Lafayette, and since I've been here I've been scouring the entire area looking for the best boudin. Billys in Scott is fairly good if you're further north, but it's worth the half hour drive to head down to Legnons. Fabulous! The other cuts of meat are also fresh and delicious! DO NOT pass this place up.

They have good prices on meat bundles. The meat is very fresh. For my taste I don't care for the cracklins they are to salty and the boudin is to mushy. Flavor is ok but texture not for me.

Cracklin fail. Hard as a rock, salt is the only thing you taste. Their Boudin is really good though! Go and get the Boudin but I'd steer clear of the cracklins!

The stuffed pork chops are so good I almost started crying. God bless people who can cook like this.

Their crawfish boudin was hands down the best boudin I have ever had. Around $5 a pound which is a great small meal for 2 people. Its perfectly spicy- one of the best foods I have ever eaten. Service is fast and polite- no tables- just a drink machine. Worth the trip. PS: Didn't have a chance to buy any but their meats look amazing too.

Am from New Iberia and recently made a trip there from North Carolina. I had visited boudinlink.com to find the MANY places to buy boudin in Cajun Country and I tried 4 different places and the BEST boudin I found was the one from Legnon's Specialty Meats. I bought the crawfish boudin and man was it good. Should have bought 2 links but was very pleased to have at least one link to remember. Very busy place and you have to pick a number upon entering the establishment but service was quick.

I've tried other boudin especially the crawfish and this is the absolute best. You guys are lucky to live in LA. I live in Northern California. My sister and her husband visit down there about twice a year and she brings back a couple of packs for about 6 households! They're treated like gold because you can't get it here! We would love to be able to buy it online along with some of that cracklin everybody is raving about! I have one boudin left and it might meet its end today! Pray for me!
