As a loyal Hyatt guest, I chose the Hyatt Dream Hollywood for its unbeatable location and the promise of a vibrant, well-designed experience. The hotel absolutely shines in terms of atmosphere. The lobby is stylish and welcoming, the rooms are charming, and the rooftop bar and pool are clearly intended to be standout amenities. From a design and concept standpoint, it’s a beautiful property.
That said, after a two-night stay, the experience didn’t fully align with expectations for a Hyatt at this price point. While the rooftop hours are noted on the website, the space was closed early both days due to private events, which eliminated access to the pool, rooftop dining, or even a casual drink. Since there are no alternative food or beverage options within the hotel during those times, a core amenity was effectively unavailable for our stay.
The room itself was comfortable but quite small, with an awkward layout and visible wear that felt inconsistent with the overall brand promise and nightly rate.
This property works well if location is your primary driver, and the design is undeniably appealing. However, I would recommend future guests confirm rooftop availability in advance and set expectations accordingly. With more consistent access to its amenities and some attention to room condition, this could be a truly strong Hyatt experience
