Nine Boutique Hotels to Know in Buenos Aires

"The individually themed guest rooms go beyond honoring the usual suspects like Eva Peron and Che Guevara — depending on your room, you’ll learn a thing or two about lesser-known legends like painter Benito Quinquela Martin, tango dancer Tita Merello, and millionaire art patron Victoria Ocampo. We had a splendid stay at Legado Mitico. The rooms, both the bedroom and communal areas, were spacious and calm, as well as beautifully decorated. We had a lovely time looking at the books in the library over a complimentary glass of wine. All of the staff were charming, but a special mention must go to Rodrigo on the front desk, who could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed juice, eggs to order and the most delicious pastries. Would highly recommend.

The hotel was absolutely wonderful! The location is perfect, right in the center of all the best bars and nightlife. But what truly makes this place stand out is the staff. Every morning they greeted us warmly, checked how we were doing, and served a delicious breakfast; the omelet is to die for! They also gave us fantastic recommendations for day trips in the area (don’t miss the Boa Winery!). I would definitely stay here again. You can find a place to sleep anywhere, but finding such genuinely kind and caring people is rare nowadays. Highly recommended!

Wonderful boutique hotel in Palermo Soho. We stayed six nights. The hotel is located on a cute street perfectly located in Palmero Soho near cafes, the best shopping, and a couple markets if you need some extra items. It is safe for walking, cute, charming neighborhood. |The rooms are clean and comfortable and quiet. |The staff will help you with anything you need within minutes of asking including arranging guides and day trips for interest you might have. Breakfast is buffet, simple but super delicious and they offer to make more for you if you request like eggs etc. It feels like you are the only guests at the hotel to be honest. The service is really that good. We mostly dealt with Mariano and Pablo at the front, and from my initial emails to reserve the hotel with reservations, every interaction was professional and courteous and kind.|If you want a super super quiet room, request one at the back of the hotel. There is a club across the street that is open a few nights of the week. It didn’t bother us, but it might bother a light sleeper or someone more sensitive to sound as you can hear it a bit if your room overlooks the street like ours did.|Still 5 out of 5 stars!!!! No complaints – GREAT stay! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

This hotel is situated in an area with plenty of bars & restaurants nearby which catered for any pocket. Our room was comfortable with the usual amenities and the buffet breakfast of good quality. There was also the option of ordering a limited selection of cooked eggs. A great place to stay on a B&B basis.

My husband and I were so glad we stayed here .It was the perfect location for what we wanted to do. Its a boutique style hotel and we loved the whole outlook of the hotel .From outside ,it doesn't entail much detail and the doors are locked so not anyone can have access . The rooms are decorated accordingly to a theme .Ours was a writer theme .The room was very elaborate, spacious and large with so much detail such as cabinet of books ,a typewriter,a desk .We loved it . The bed was huge too. There is also a large library in the hotel lounge. Reception staff were very helpful . Only drawback was that there was no kettle in the room ,and breakfast lacked a lot of things. With breakfast ,the only hot food that was available was egg of your choice and nothing else .We were slightly disappointed in that regard . Also the breakfast guy who was serving needs to be a bit more charming and approachable . Also ,breakfast on two days were served from 7.30am and we wanted it earlier . Rest of the team were all friendly and forthcoming.

Absolutely fantastic stay here last month. Represents exactly why I gravitate towards boutique hotels: personalized service, intimate setting, comfortable accommodations. Add the premium, convenient location (everything you need is right outside the doors) and truly, what's not to love?||The staff is so hospitable and kind, many of whom have worked here for quite some time. Thank you to Pablo, Ramiro, Leandro, and others for making my stay so comfortable. Even before my arrival I had assistance with booking a transfer as well as a show/dinner I was interested in. Upon arrival it only got better with service and consideration.||The premises feels like a beautiful home, plenty of room to relax be it at breakfast or anytime throughout the day, from the interior to the patio. Even the house cat Malevo stole my heart. Each room is named after a famous figure; my room 'El Escritor' was perfect to get settled into. It is a very small hotel so note that every time you want to enter you have to buzz in. ||I miss it there already!

We stayed at Legado Mítico Buenos Aires which is situated in the heart of Palermo Soho area surrounded by restaurants and bars.||The hotel’s interior exudes warmth and sophistication, featuring polished wood floors, antique furnishings, and a cozy library lounge. The communal areas, including a tranquil courtyard, provide perfect spots to unwind after exploring the city. Despite its central location, the hotel maintains a peaceful ambiance, offering a restful night’s sleep. However, every time you want to go into the hotel, someone needs to come and open it for you. ||The breakfast service was delightful, featuring a selection of fresh pastries, fruits, and eggs options of your preferred choice. There is no English speaking tv channels like cnn or bbc news.

We stayed twice during our travels across Argentina. The hotel is in a fantastic location in Palmero surrounded by endless cafes and restaurants. The neighbourhood itself is nice to walk around and explore with a couple of markets nearby. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are friendly. Breakfast is more on the basic side of things but you can also request eggs (note you do need to ask as it won’t be automatically offered to you). Other areas of Buenos Aires which you’ll want to explore are generally a 15-30 minute uber drive away (dependent on traffic).

Yelp
Gayle and I recently spent ~3 weeks in Argentina. The last 2 weeks were arranged through a boutique travel agency, whose services included booking hotels, flights, excursions, guides, and local recommendations. This kind of personalized service cost us significantly extra, but at the same time, we thought it was a good value. There's also the piece of mind. For example, landing in a strange airport and being met and taken to your hotel was priceless. So when you're paying a premium, you expect more. The Legado Mitico is a gorgeous property right in the heart of the Palermo District. The common areas including breakfast room, extended living room, and patio were comfortable and handsomely decorated. Our room was spacious, nicely appointed, and successful in giving us 3 great nights of sleep. The only room downside was the window view led to a service area rather than the back patio. There was also a roof-top terrace that was closed due to renovation. The big rub here was the front desk service, which we sometimes found to be disengaged and lacking in the willingness to engage in helping these customers with a couple situations. Actually, one guy was great. We wondered whether the other 2 were the B Team. The first was laundry. We had just returned from an Earthwatch Expedition in Patagonia and we has some shirts and pants that needed to be penguin poop cleansed. Unfortunately, that day was a National Holiday and that the external laundry service was not available on that Thursday. We were told that the service might be able to do it on Friday (the Holiday after the Holiday), but at expedite prices. NO. When you're a premium hotel, you figure that out how to get your customer's clothes clean and not gouge them in the process. The second was our idea of taking the boat to Uruguay for the day. We asked about it, and all the B Team guy could offer was that we should take a cab to the waterfront early and try to buy tickets. Later, we found related brochures a few feet away from the front desk, and web sites where we could have booked from one of various options. The lack of problem solving willingness by desk staff was again not consistent with what one might expect from a premium hotel. So why 4 stars and no fewer? First, it is a fabulous property that is well located in the City. Second, the service was so much better when we stayed at the Legado Mitico in Salta. So I'm willing to chalk up our experiences to the B Team. Otherwise, if I'm going to pay a premium on a future trip, I might thing twice before coming back here.

Yelp
Very nice boutique hotel in the center of Soho. The service was thoughtful and attentive. The room wasn't amazing but it was very nice, bed was comfortable and the bath was sufficient. We had a view on the main street but it wasn't noisy. Actually the hotel was quiet. The breakfast was ok. They served fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh scrambled eggs. Espresso drinks were made to order. There were croissants and cheese and meats, as well as the usual continental breakfast items. We'd definitely stay here again. Good location, good service, comfortable room, and good breakfast!

Yelp
I guess it really depends who is the person you deal with. I'm giving this place one star because the person at the front desk whom I had to deal with has a very unfriendly and I accommodating attitude. Even though my travel agent has worked out check in details, upon arrival, the front desk person said my travel agent is wrong. So we sat in the lobby from 5:30AM to 7:30AM, only to find out that they will not honor the agreement they had with my travel agent. And the neighborhood is like a slum. No restaurants are opened until 8PM. So basically we were stranded in the lobby, even though they have empty rooms.
