20 Best Things to Do in Dubai, According to Our Local Editors | Condé Nast Traveler

"Alserkal Avenue’s gray and blue warehouses reward exploration: once known mainly for regional contemporary art, the area now includes Cinema Akil arthouse cinema, vintage-vinyl shop The Flip Side, coffee at Nightjar, burgers from food truck Fomo, and eateries like Lila Molino + Café, Kokoro Hand Roll Bar, and Middle Child — but the avenue remains an arty hub with galleries such as Ayyam Gallery and The Third Line and creative studios like eL Seed’s." - Nicola Chilton

10 Best Shops in Dubai

"This once-sparse industrial compound is now a hotbed of arts and culture in Dubai. The three rows of warehouses house more than 15 galleries. Big name galleries like the New York-based Heller has brought exhibitions of contemporary American and European artists, while others, like Gallery Isabelle Van Den Eynde focus on rising stars from the Middle East." - Laura Ratliff, Maresa Manara

Brilliant in concept and variety. This collection of speciality boutiques within this precinct of creative spaces, cafes and custom items, is a design and bespoke revelation. I only noted one of the many galleries were actually open sadly but the other boutique retailers were dynamic and interesting. If you're needing somewhere that presents personalised or exclusive products then this should be a destination option. Parking within the precinct was very sparse but not impossible, however if you're not averse to a stroll you'll be fine.

Alserkal Avenue is truly one of a kind — a visionary space that reflects the incredible foresight of its founder, who transformed a cluster of warehouses into Dubai’s beating heart of art, culture, and creativity. What started as a bold idea has grown into a thriving community that continues to inspire artists, thinkers, and visitors alike. From contemporary art galleries and immersive exhibitions to open-air festivals and creative workshops, there’s always something new and thought-provoking happening here. The Avenue’s support for local and international artists is remarkable — it’s a genuine platform for expression and collaboration. Food lovers will also find plenty to enjoy — from trendy cafés and artisan bakeries to rotating food trucks serving everything from specialty coffee to gourmet bites. Families are welcome too; kids’ art activities, open spaces, and community events make it a great day out for everyone. Parking can get a little tricky during busy events, but it’s a small price to pay for a space that so beautifully merges art, culture, and community spirit. A visit to Alserkal Avenue isn’t just an outing — it’s an experience.

If you’re looking for a place that blends creativity, culture, and unexpected surprises, Alserkal Avenue hits the mark. Nestled in the industrial heart of Al Quoz (an area better known for warehouses than galleries), this former factory zone has been transformed into one of Dubai’s most exciting cultural districts. The vibe? Totally different from the polished mall scene. It’s gritty-meets-chic, industrial meets creative studio, and it feels fresh. You can wander through exhibitions, stop for great coffee, browse design objects, and just soak up something less commercial and more authentic. If you’re in Dubai and want to explore beyond the usual tourist spots, Alserkal Avenue is absolutely worth the visit.

The atmosphere is elegant and inviting—warm lighting, refined décor, and a beautifully curated display that makes every chocolate feel like a small luxury. It has that perfect boutique feel without being intimidating. The service was exceptional. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their products. They offered thoughtful recommendations and made the experience feel personal and welcoming.

For those who feel artistic and miss mingling with the like. We visited on a weekday. The vibe of the stores was impressively European. Perhaps events will contribute to entertainment otherwise come if you are looking for or with to support contemporary artists.

Nice to visit in December. Many small shops there. I thought it was an artistic neighborhood but didn’t see any art studio or galleries.

Alserkal Avenue is truly a hub for creativity and inspiration in Dubai. It’s a place where art, culture, and innovation come together beautifully. From contemporary galleries and art classes to artisan chocolatiers, fashion studios, and even bespoke shoemakers, there’s something for every curious soul here. Whether you’re an artist, a learner, or just someone who loves to explore, the Avenue offers endless opportunities to discover, connect, and be inspired. Every visit feels like stepping into a world where creativity has no boundaries making it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates art, design, and unique experiences.its one of my favorite places of Dubai.

TLDR -- Will visit again. Some of the galleries were closed on the public holiday that we went on. What was open was good. All the eateries were open. There wasn't too much crowd -- we went late morning and stayed until late afternoon. There is a feeder bus from Onpassive metro to Al Serkal avenue -- so connectivity is very good.
