Café Baba

I visited the famous Café Baba because of Anthony Bourdain, and it had a very relaxed atmosphere. The waiters were friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed my mint tea and cigarette with views of the medina in front of me.

Two coffees cost 40dh, the place is really noisy, to the point it can be hard to hear with the owner even playing music out of his phone. Glasses are dirty, everything is an overpriced tourist trap, and the owner even got into a shouting match with another customer. Oh, and had to wait 20 minutes for our coffee on top of that.

One of the best rooftops in Tangier Café Baba, located in the heart of the old Medina, offers an exceptional experience from morning to sunset and even at night. The rooftop view is stunning, creating a calm and authentic atmosphere that captures the spirit of Tangier. The tea is among the best in Morocco rich in flavor and tradition. The service team is friendly and professional, making every visit pleasant. A perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy great tea, a relaxing ambiance, and beautiful views over the city. A true gem in Tangier.

I had to come here as an homage to the late Anthony Bourdain! The mint tea was amazing! Views were great and the vibe feels historic!

A really cool historic cafe with pictures of famous visitors along the walls. It’s been family-owned for generations, and the current owner is very kind. Tea is 20 dh.

Thanks god Cafe Baba still exist. They should be honoured with a Rockn Roll Hall of Fame Life Time achievement award! Coffee is 1€, Mint tea is 1€, Smoking 0,5 € 💥

Legendary coffee shop in the Kasbah where the rolling stones, celebrities and the beat generation used smoke spiff. Only charged 20 MD for a coffee, so don't know were the scamming is coming from on tourists, but I asked price before I sat down. Always thinking lol great place which is old and nostalgic. Must visit
