Astrea

Astrea is Downtown Indy’s newest rooftop bar and since its opening, I’ve always been curious of the overall experience. I was finally able to make a visit recently. Came at around 6 PM on a Sunday and there was like no one there so we were seated pretty much immediately. Our waitress was SUPER friendly and attentive to our table. The views from the outdoor terrace are phenomenal though given it’s the winter, the outside is closed but they still let us go out there to get some photos. We got a bunch of small plates to share and got the Truffle Fries, Dry House Rubbed Wings, Halibut Filet Fish Sliders, and Braised Short Rib Arancini. Overall, everything was super tasty! The fries were crispy and super flavorful, the fish sliders were good although the fish was a little dry, the wings were fantastic and seasoned nicely, and the arancini was insanely good too! Overall, if you’re in Downtown Indy in the mood for good drinks, small bites, and great views, Astrea is the place to go! I’ll easily be back.

I used to absolutely love coming here — the atmosphere, the views, and especially the service. Astrea rooftop was my favorite location in the city. A huge reason for that was one of the bartenders who truly elevated the experience —Abeer. She was consistently professional, friendly, and went above and beyond. She was always warm, attentive, and made every visit feel special. I haven’t seen her there recently, and honestly it hasn’t felt quite the same since. She was a big part of what kept me coming back. Since she’s no longer there, I’ve found myself visiting much less and definitely miss her presence because the experience just isn’t the same. Great staff members really make a difference.

They have a cocktail section that is more than just simple juices/sodas. O REALLY appreciate that especially when going out with a group thay might not know y ou are trying to be sober. The food (pork tenderloin a d trufle fries) were tasty with the pork being our favorite! It had excellent flavors, was not dry, and had a good search on the outside. The views were great and the service was attentive and welcoming

Had a great night at Astrea. Keagan came to our table and discussed the inspiration for our drinks and others on the menu. Could really see the passion he has for creating the unique drinks they offer. We did not have the food and it was too cold for us to check out the outdoor areas, but will definitely be back to experience them!

We love this rooftop bar and restaurant. The service is very friendly and attentive. There is wide variety of house cocktails that are skillfully, and creatively crafted. While the apps are quite tasty and locally sourced, there is not much bang for your buck. Clearly this is more of an experience, than a budget friendly establishment. I mostly have good things to say about Astrea, just wish that the dishes provided a little more food on the plate, or made what little food offered truly exceptional.

It was me in my husband first time going plus it was his bday. Food wasnt to bad it was just the portion you got for the price. Other then that Lisa was our server in she was such a sweetheart & great communicator when it came to wanting to know about certain items on the list. We'll be going back loved the view of the city.

It was my first time visiting Astrea tonight from out of town. The dj made the vibes super cool, our bartenders were dancing with us and making sure we were having fun the whole night. My cocktails were absolutely stunning, Liz and Hannah explained all the ingredients and really made our experience in Indianapolis worth while. The manager Keagan also spent a decent amount of time with us recommending yummy drinks! Thank you Astrea rooftop bar!!

We visited this place a couple of weeks ago. Initially, there were three of us, but later my friends were going to join. We asked for an extra chair, and a man—who I assume was the manager (a white guy in his 40s)—refused to give us one. Instead, he started putting another table together, but that table never arrived. It felt like they didn’t want my business, so I paid my tab of around $200s and left. The only positive part of the experience was Annette, our waitress, who was respectful and attentive. I left a nice tip for her service. That’s the only reason I’m giving three stars for service.

Astrea, my gosh you are THE vibe! My sister and I decided to visit for a girl's night out and everything from the food, the DJ, drinks and let's not get started on the view, just beautiful! We were a little late to our reservation (by 10minutes) and the hostess was not very friendly about it but our server was so sweet, that I forgot about the hostess' attitude. For food, I ordered the oysters Rockefeller and truffle fries both were 10/10. For drinks, the Cava Prosecco & our waitress suggested a Hugo Spritz and it's easily become my new favorite and go-to drink. Overall, I will most certainly be back at Astrea and I hope they have outdoor heaters for the cooler months!

I'm so glad this place is open. We are definitely adding it to our list of regular spots. Classy and upscale. Luxury without breaking the bank, this lounge is a jewel to the city. For my birthday hubby and I were taking a tour of rooftop lounges downtown and found Astrea. Located in the Intercontinental hotel, on the 11th floor. In my opinion, it was quiet for Saturday night., but I think the weather deterred everybody from going out. They had the outdoor patio closed because of that, but I'll definitely be going back to try it. Peyton, our server was nice and attentive. Although we were only there for beverages, he was on top of everything! Kitchen closes at 10, but I plan on going back and trying some of their shareable bites. I'm loving the vibe there. Stop by for yourself and get a beautiful view of monument circle and surrounding downtown. This definitely won't be out last visit.

I was excited to check out Astrea while visiting Indy, but unfortunately, I left underwhelmed. The atmosphere is sleek, upscale, and modern. The highlight of the evening was definitely the cocktails. I ordered the Nunya Beeswax II (a bourbon-based drink) and my friend had the Circle City Sour (vodka-based). Both were beautifully crafted and delicious. Where the experience fell short was in service and food. Our server seemed distracted and rarely checked in, which left the evening feeling a bit neglected. The charcuterie plate was especially disappointing for the price. It was very small and underwhelming. Astrea advertises itself as "the highest rooftop bar in Indianapolis." While it may technically be one of the taller rooftops at 11 stories, the space felt small and the views were not particularly impressive, especially with taller or similar-height buildings nearby. The marketing sets expectations for sweeping skyline views, but the reality did not quite deliver. I share this so others go in with realistic expectations. Overall, Astrea works if you are looking for a well-made cocktail in a stylish setting, but the service, food value, and views need to catch up with the price point and branding.

I really wanted to love it. Made reservations for my group. When we arrived we were seated outside in the sweltering heat. We asked if we could get inside and were told NO, that was it. Our server did try to make up for it, even brought us a bucket of ice so we could keep our drinks cool as well as ourselves. The food was decent as were the drinks. The star of the evening were the truffle fries. I have to admit they were spectacular. I see others write about the great view... I didn't find it all that great. Plus you really can't see a thing unless you stand up and go directly to the railings, otherwise you see only the rooftops of other buildings. I found this to be an overpriced, one and done experience.

This is such an awesome space! We came in mid October and the chill was already creeping in. However, the fire pits outside kept us warm with the help of our jackets. We came in the evening and the views of the city were nice, the low glow of the lights on the patio set the vibe. We got an old fashioned and dirty martinis and they were both made really well. The patio has plenty of cozy spots to sit and relax. Our server was also very tentative and welcoming. Such a solid visit!

This rooftop bar is really big. I came downtown with family to check out pop up holiday bars. This wasn't a pop up bar, but it was uniquely decorated for Christmas. They had a special holiday drink menu and we all tried something different. The drinks were ok, the hot drink was sent back because it wasn't hot. My rosemary sprig was smoking a bit, but failed to impart infused smokiness. Our server was very nice and I would come back here in the summer to enjoy the extensive rooftop area and view of the monument circle.

The Intercontinental is one of my favorite hotels. I really enjoy their bars and restaurants. Astrea is a luxurious bar that offers an amazing ambiance. I chose just to sit at the bar. The bartender was very friendly. I decided to have a cocktail off their seasonal menu. I was so surprised that the seasonal cocktails were only $10. I got the Sugarplum Spritz and it tasted like Christmas in a glass. It was beautiful and delicious. Definitely going to add Astrea as an annual stop for seasonal cocktails.

Awesome rooftop! This place has been a hot commodity all summer, and I totally get why. The rooftop overlooks Monument Circle, offering great views if you peek over the edge. They seemed a little understaffed when I visited, but our service was still excellent. Definitely order the truffle fries! They also have weekly specials, so be sure to check those out. We'll be back, can't wait to see how they decorate for the holiday season! Ps -- To reach the rooftop, press letter B on the screen next to the elevator. That will ring the only elevator that goes to the rooftop on the 11th floor. There's no signage, so we ended up going to the floor of the hotel lobby to ask!

This was our second time to the astrea rooftop and it continues to impress. Even in the cold of late December, the heaters on the patio made it comfortable enough to go out and take photos of the view. Drinks are solid and pricing reflects the elegance of the location.

My friends and I wanted to check out Astrea for drinks and rooftop views. Unfortunately, our reservation didn't indicate outdoor seating, so we started inside but were eventually able to take some photos near the empty tables outside. Depending on where you sit, the view of the city can vary, and some spots don't offer the best angle. As for the drinks, they were fine but nothing spectacular. Menu is definitely on the pricey side.

It's a viiiiiiiiiibbbbbbeeeeee! Hubby and I came here late Saturday night and the ambiance was top tier!! When you get off the elevator, the host is spectacular! Very welcoming! We didn't have reservations, but we're still able to get in at the bar! The bar is beautiful and the bartenders are amazing! Super attentive, great recommendations! They have an extensive drink menu! We didn't order from the menu but instead opted for our usual classic drink orders. I ordered a Dirty Shirley requested to be made with Tequila instead of Vodka and my husband ordered Jack and Coke! Both drinks were made perfectly! The kitchen had just closed when we got there, but we were able to order dessert! The bartender recommended one of their chef's raspberry seasonal desserts; which was vanilla cake swirled with raspberries and coated in a raspberry buttercream, with chocolate ribbon and sprinkling of candied peanuts with fresh cream and berries on the side! Delicious! We are so excited to come back here!

If you like roof tops, classy drinks and shareable dishes this is a great spot for that. Service is great they literally are always coming back at the right moment. I recommend the old fashion, manhattan and an espresso martini to finish you off. Views are great, def request to be inside if it's the middle of the day, but at night this place is a dime to sit outside.

Our experience was top notch and I can't wait to go back! We stopped by randomly on a Sunday when they weren't busy and were lucky to find a relaxed, yet lively atmosphere. The staff were friendly and engaged with providing a great experience. We both loved our cocktails and devoured the truffle fries. Everything seemed to have a little extra special touch- from the branded ice and cocktail garnishes to the fancy furniture and everything in between. The views are amazing and would be even better with the windows open in the summer. FYI - they have a DJ on Fridays and Saturdays, so I've heard that the vibe is a little different and busier on those days.

WOWZER. Decided to go to the top of Soldiers Monument and while looking out the cleaned glass (seriously, it was clean and no smudges) we noticed this wonderful restaurant on a rooftop at the Intercontinental. I have never descended those stairs so fast in my life! New rooftop bar.....I am in! We were worried about getting through the hotel as we were not staying there, but no issues. Got to the elevator and went to Astrea!!!! We were warmly greeted and brought to a cute 4-top outside. There were many couch and lounge areas as well. It was a beautiful day, although slightly cold, but a beverage fixed that! Ordered up some Old Fashions and had a grand old time. We even dipped in for the Truffle fries with an aoli! Seriously, everything was great. On top of that, we had the most amazing server that impressed us! Newly opened but a great selection of wines and spirits. We will be back!!! PROS: View, literally everywhere the view Great Service Wonderful selection of drinks Downtown, good space Food looked great, did not try it all CONS: Parking may be an issue it is downtown Space outside is good, but not huge, I can see it getting busy!

Great new rooftop bar in downtown Indy. This is on the top floor of the newly renovated Intercontinental Hotel. I was a little surprised to see how dead it was in here but I suspect that might change when the weather is nicer. Service was good but there was a little confusion about paid water on the table. I ended up receiving the premium water after being given tap water, the premium water was provided right before leaving so it felt like a bill raiser which was kind of slimy. Not to worry I chugged the water that I had to pay for. Aside from the one knock I enjoyed this spot, hopefully the outdoor area will be open next time.

On our way to another event, we decided to stop at this new rooftop spot in downtown Indianapolis. We are glad we stopped. We were kindly greeted on the first floor and informed that Astrea would be on the 11th floor. Let me say, the elevators are nice and gold with marvelous marble floors. So far so good. As the doors opened to the 11th floor we were impressed. We were immediately greeted and asked a few questions. We decided to sit at the bar since we wouldn't be there too long. This is a cute little space that seems spacious at the same time. There was a small function going on but this didn't get in the way of us enjoying the atmosphere and taking it all in. Once seated at the bar, we were greeted by two amazing ladies that took care of us. I got the Nunya Bees Wax which is a slight play of an old-fashioned but of course sweeter and my friend asked for a cute and sweet drink and that's exactly what she got. All in all this was a great experience and we will be back whether the patio is open or closed:) Hannah and Liz provided great customer service and they were fun to talk to. Also, a special thanks to Russel. We stopped on the 2nd floor where the front desk and a small quiet bar is located. Russel provided great knowledge about the hotel and took us on a quick and small tour of the hotel. He was delightful. Thanks again to everyone who helped us and we will be back to explore Astrea and I hope to go back for a staycation. Go check it out y'all!

Asters impressed me! It was a really beautiful rooftop with a perfect view of monument circle. The outside area is seat yourself, but you had to have a reservation to get up to the rooftop in general. The staff was really kind and knowledgeable. I loved the small menu - the cocktails were delicious and unique. Their glassware was adorable too, not generic at all. The truffle fries were exactly as expected & had a lot of rosemary and parm on them. I can't wait to go here in the summer with friends! It's the most perfect location.

Literally a 10/10! We celebrated our anniversary here and it was nothing short of amazing. The view from the rooftop is amazing during the sunset. All of the food we tried was delicious and fresh and the drinks were sooo delicious! It's definitely a special occasion spot for us, but I can't wait to visit again!

I went here on a Saturday night and really enjoyed it. The service was friendly and helpful all around. The ambiance is lovely, with a modern and well designed aesthetic. Every food item was delicious. My only complaint is portion size. For the price, most items are way too small (especially the fries). Cocktail was yummy! We also ordered a bottle of rosé that was good and decently priced.

I love rooftop bars so I'm always on the lookout for new ones. Came across this one through Yelp so had to check it out myself. This bar is inside of Intercontinental hotel on the 11th floor. For downtown Indy, you can find meter parking or pay to park at a lot. I think they have valet, we didn't do that this time so don't know about the price. The vibes inside were nice, good atmosphere. It was quite busy when we came, they have two party rooms inside that looked busy. Indoor seating is available along with the rooftop deck seating. We told the host we wanted to sit outside, and it took about 15 minutes to be seated. The view of our seats was amazing, the monument circle was right there and lit up, so pretty. That was the best thing about this, the view. They close at 1am and it was close to closing time so we just got a drink and chilled. The service was not the best, probably because they were really busy and it was close to closing. I didn't like my drink and my server never came back to ask. The fact that it's a rooftop bar with a great view is why I will return.

Very cool upscale lounge for drinks! Great views of the city! Cool fire pits with seating . Drinks were very good & not terribly priced! One the greatest things were the multiple single stall bathrooms!

Neat rooftop bar with decent amount of seating, would be ideal to make reservation. Firepits at some of the seating locations. Great cocktails and friendly bartenders. Fun seasonal desserts. Good for date night or girls night!

First timer to Astrea! Upon entering the Hostess greated us. We sat at the bar and Hannah was our bartender. Asked for a drink that was sweet, fruity, and pretty and Hannah did not disappoint! Hannah may have whipped up the best drink I've ever had! It was sooo delicious! The atmosphere wasn't too crazy- very elegant. The rooftop wasn't open- but I can't wait to return on a warmer day!

Drinks are... mid. Got a Manhattan and they use literally the cheapest vermouth you can find, even though we upgraded to Uncle Nearest Rye. I almost walked away right then. For $16 cocktails I expect at least Cocchi Vermouth. Also ordered Nunnya Bees Wax it was fine, nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is loud. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive but the drinks were disappointing, chairs wobbly, bathrooms dirty.

Wow! I was not ready for this experience lol... After the Fountain room, my boyfriend and I went here and he surprise me with reservations and even a poem that the waitress wrote for me on his behalf! Such a beautiful night, such a beautiful rooftop and such a beautiful experience... They were super busy that night, and my only feedback would be assigned servers to order drinks and food... I walked up to the bar and waited for at least 20 minutes to get a drink. We did not order food that night overall great experience.

Went on a Saturday night and the place was understandably busy. The vibe was immaculate. Wait staff were all super chill, and somehow managed to get us in pretty quickly ... even though they had to limit our time due to another reservation coming in after us. Drinks were solid and there was a decent selection. Can't beat the views. Definitely coming back.

Came here with a few girlfriends and it's def one of my favorite rooftops in the city! The view of monument circle is actually so pretty!! The minute we walked in we were quickly serviced and shown a table. The ambiance was nice and modern as well. I ordered the White Linen drink and it was perfect! Overall great service and drinks! Will definitely be back to try the food.

Indys newest highest rooftop bar!! This just opened this week. They are located on the 11th floor of the new intercontinental hotel in downtown just off the circle on the southwest side. There are friendly greeters at the door when you enter the hotel. Jackson greeted us and told us a bit about the bar. The hotel is beautiful and gold and there are mirrors. There is a greeter as soon as you get off the 11th floor. We didn't have reservations but it was mostly empty when we went. Was hoping it wasn't too busy since they just opened. We got there just before 6 to watch sunset. The drinks were good. There's minimal food. Mostly apps and shareables. We got the truffle fries which were perfect! The sauce was good and the fries were tasty and at the perfect temp/color. White linen is refreshing. Outside isn't open yet. They are still working on some safety features. The views are nice. Slight obstructed view of the circle. It is just one corner that you get that view so hope that no one is sitting there. The bar is beautiful. The lighting is great. Nice vibes. Would like to come back in the summer. Yesterday was sunny and high of 60 so it was great. The bathrooms are off to the side and are singles and handicap accessible so that's nice. Paid street parking.

Payton's service was exceptional. The drinks were the highlight of the experience. The rooftop is gorgeous, there were many seating options for groups, couples, etc. It was really beautiful up there, the music was a perfect volume which still allowed for conversation. The photo backdrop was bonus!

Some of the best views of the city, by far. I was surprised the cocktail menu wasn't bigger and they had no sweeter drinks. Their Instagram promoted a mango drink that was not on the menu and there was no summer menu like they teased, so that was confusing. They ended up making me a mango mojito, which was delicious. When we got the bill there was an unexplained $2 upcharge for Bacardi that was not disclosed and Bacardi is not a premium. They have two charcuterie boards (one meat, one cheese) and my ground was surprised that you had to choose one or the other because normal charcuterie includes both. The chips and dip were gluten free, which was wonderful. It was yummy and so were the truffle fries.

Such a great vibe & obviously one of the best views in the city. For the price, I wish some of the dishes were more substantial (e.g. the bao buns) but I would order the truffle fries every day of the week! Service was decent too!

This is a beautiful bar! Excellent wine list and cocktails. We ordered small plates and dessert and they were all great. The balcony is stunning and has heaters when needed. Service was great too. Reservations strongly suggested.

Greta experience! Annette was our server and she was great! Attentive and very sweet! Our Christmas cocktails were tasty and prompt! All around excellent service!

Hannah is awesome, literally the best bartender in Indy. She takes care of me with a smile & is genuine about serving every guest that comes to the bar.

I haven't had the opportunity out to try the food but the wine options are quality. The service is phenomenal. The views above par!

Love the ambiance. Decorated well. Excited for the outside to open up in the summer. I liked the baked potato croquettes.

Went here tonight and will never go back. Made a reservation for 4 two weeks in advance. Could not seat us outside and sat us inside and just asked if we could be put on a waitlist if any tables open up outside. They said no. The kitchen was broken and no hot food was being served. There were plenty of tables outside and we saw other people being seated. Out server came over to our table three times in over 2 hours and it was not like it was even busy. Worst experience and incredibly disappointing. we got the cheeseboard and it was terrible.

A great place for evening cocktails....impeccable service and drinks. The views of Monument Circle are spectacular.

The truffle fries at this place were amazing. The atmosphere was also phenomenal but i was extremely upset with the service. My friends and I were visiting my sister who is from Indy and I surprised visited her when our reservation was for 6 and I was a 7th, the hostess had laughed at us when we had told her I was surprise visiting my sister and 1 more person needed added to the reservation. We were extremely unhappy with the service we received from a red haired server...I am unsure of her name to this moment but she was unhappy the entire time she served us and did not treat us like valued customers. I felt like in this type of atmosphere and setting we should have been treated with bare minimum of respect. Great food and drinks again, but unhappy with the service we received.

The conduct exhibited was discriminatory and highly unprofessional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this business to others, as such behavior is not deserving of client trust or support.
