The Mint Bar and Grill

The food at this local favorite is excellent, as is the beer selection. It's the perfect place for a date night or evening out with friends and/family. Terrific interior design touches like the copper penny floor and too many other details to mention. Can't wait to come back, actually.

We came here for dinner, tired and hungry. It's good that the cafe was open late in the evening, and there was a large table for our family. The veggie burgers were good, even our picky son liked it. The quesadilla was burnt. It was very noticeable visually. We ordered 3 portions. We had to throw one away, it was inedible. I wonder - did the cook really not see that the dish was burnt? How could they serve this to customers? And one more thing - we went because there was fish on the menu (we don't eat meat), the menu was on their website! But imagine our disappointment when we didn't find fish on the printed menu.

One of the better burgers I’ve had in the last few years. We stayed nearby and walked around to see who could take us for dinner, and the Mint sat us at the bar right away. Good food, homemade sauces, and great drinks. Can’t wait to go back.

Was surprised at how little seating there is inside. We sat outside so we had to order inside at the bar. The homemade sauces were great!

Good drinks, Friendly staff, foodwise I have only had the wings but they were amazing.

Seated ourselves as the sign instructed, but after sitting for 25 minutes no one ever came by. We watched servers take orders at other tables and purposely skip over ours. I finally approached the bar to give them a chance — I never leave bad reviews and don’t think people should be judged on simple mistakes. But instead of acknowledging me, a blonde staff member chose to make small talk with another couple and then took someone else’s order right in front of me. I can understand being busy or even accidentally missing a table, but this felt intentional and dismissive. Really poor service, and I would not recommend The Mint in Livingston.

Food is absolutely delicious!!! However, our waiter had no personality, was doing shots while behind the bar. I'm pretty sure he forgot to put in our order, as we waited over an hour for 2 plates of mac & cheese & 1 chicken sandwich. They played the worst music as loud as they could. You couldn't even hear your own thoughts let alone hold a conversation with anyone at your table. To top it off the building has no AC. Back of house staff are amazing!!! Front of house staff treat the place as a place to party rather than work.

Wow! We stopped in Livingston for lunch while traveling. After being ignored in another cafe in town, we walked around the block and found The Mint- MAN, we were glad we got ignored at the other place! Service was friendly and efficient. I had the fried chicken salad and it was delicious! The greens were fresh and crispy- and that chicken was top notch!

Stopped in for lunch. Not too crowded. Food really good and so was the service. A very comfortable old style bar and grill. Ladies restroom decorated with old Life magazine covers and the men's with Playboys. Loved the environment

Great device and food! Loved this little dive bar reminiscent of great old Montana places that really can cater to anyone.

We we're looking for a place to eat and got right into the Mint. Service was outstanding Cadillac Margarita was outstanding. My wife had Chicken sandwich was outstanding. I had fried fish was walleye the fish was good but had a lot of breading The homemade catchup is a bit interesting

First time dining at the Mint. Atmosphere was great, and we all had the flat iron steak. The dinner was very good but had to pay extra if wanted a salad $4.00. A little spendy but not sure I would eat there again.

Great atmosphere. Attentive service. Cold fresh beer on tap. Awesome ambiance. Delicious key lime pie Husband had the "blue cheese, steak sauce mushroom" burger and loved it. Y 7 yo son had plain cheeseburger and ate whole thing. Picky eater daughter loved her chicken sandwich. I had fried chicken salad. Make sure to get the ranch. It's homemade and pairs well with everything we are. Nachos looked out of this world.

Great service and good was perfect. Fun to meet folks and not to loud to enjoy a conversation.

The food and beers were great. The bar had a cool Western vibe too. Just what we needed after a long drive.

This place is stinkin cute! Like an old saloon. Wonderful staff! We had the dry rub wings and they were amazing. We also did the tacos and loved them. We reccommend this spot and can see why it's so popular, the place was packed and buzzin!

Fresh, scratch-made food with great service and ambience. The menu may be smaller than some but everything we had was delicious. Chicken wings, mac and cheese, burgers, and the best fish and chips we've ever had (and we live on the coast). Our server was literally the best we've ever had - super attentive but not hovering, very friendly, and efficient. We 100% would recommend!

Passing through town, stopped here, the best buttermilk chicken salad, my husband got tacos, also delicious 10/10!

Delicious House made salad dressing, sriracha, and cheese sauce. Fun bar environment. If this sounds appealing, don't miss this great bar and grill in Livingston. We ordered the pineapple habanero vinegarette salad and the Mac and cheese with veggies. Both were just fantastic and the service was great.

$24 for two G&T's last night at the Mint Bar! We asked the bartender if that was right and she said yes. I think we'll support our other local bars instead next time.

I haven't been to the Mint in awhile and I'm not sure if I'll go back. The food was delicious but the waitress seemed annoyed to be there. The most disappointing part of the visit was the music. It was ridiculously loud. We were in the back of the restaurant and still couldn't hear each other speaking. Please turn the music down! might just order takeout next time.

We were so glad we found this perfect little spot! The food was phenomenal and I can't say enough good things about the service. Their menu is very diverse and after being in Montana for a week I'd say it was best food we ate! Get the Pork Chop! You won't regret it!

Went here for dinner the other night. It was packed, but we were able to get a table outside with a great view of the mountains. I got the chicken sandwich, and it was one of the best I've ever had!! Highly recommend.

Nope nope nope. The only thing good about this place was they had a baseball game playing in the tv. And the bathrooms rocked. The male bartender, was a big shot. Thought he was the best bartender to God's creation. The female bartender was nice. And that's all I can say about this place.

We frequent the Mint Bar & Grill more than I care to share on the internet. We love the sweet and creative owners, the friendly staff, solid drinks and bomb food. Most bars with a liquor license can pour great drinks but few bars have healthy and delicious food options! My favorites are the Mint Burger, Chicken Sammy, and the Forbidden Bowl with protein or without takes the cake!! Their Debauch Brunch on Sundays from 10am-3pm is outstanding! Today I ordered the weekly doughnut special, Blackstone Benny, Cubano, Biscuits & Gravy AND the Queso con Carne (chorizo today). EVERYTHING was amazing, I'm just re-heating what wasn't consumed for brunch and it's just as great the second time around. They are very great about wearing masks and keeping everything spotless- I can't recommend dining in or ordering taking out from the Mint enough!

The Mint was recommended to us by our Air BnB hosts. We were hungry after our long day of travel. The floor covering consists of all pennies which is just one of the charming aspects of the decor. The neon sign out front is a classic. The food was excellent and carefully prepared by their extraordinary chef, who we understand, is also the owner. We had the pork chop with salad and the Chicken Sammy and candied bacon sandwich (with fries) on the first night and were so impressed by the service and hospitality, we returned a second night and then had a grilled cheese and candied bacon sandwich with salad and the Chicken Sammy and candied bacon sandwich (with fries) again. We enjoyed on-tap beer selections from local Breweries. Our bartender and server, Kat, was so sweet and adorable and eager to please. She came by several times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We will certainly return to The Mint again when we are back in the area.

Literally THE WORST service I've ever had. The waitress seemed annoyed that we even walked in. She seated us, gave us drinks in an aggressive manner slamming the water down and spilling it with no apology or effort to clean it up, took our food order and never came back to check in until it was time to pay. It took over an hour for our food to come out. We also witnessed over 9 customers leave because they were completely ignored. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

When was the last time that you were truly amazed? Stop just for one moment and think back to that time when you stopped and said, "Damn!" It's not very often, right? When you've realized that all your preconceptions, your intuition, your expectations were without a doubt, not just wrong, but so far off base that you had to question all that you've built your belief system upon. That my friends is what I experienced this evening when I dined at The Mint. After striking out at two previous attempts to quell my hunger I chose what I stupidly thought was the least offensive place to eat. Oh how wrong I was. I've always admitted when I've been wrong and tonight I was wrong with my initial impression. The Mint is home to not only the most devoted staff of servers and chefs that I've ever had the distinct pleasure to meet but also the home to, without any question, THE BEST BURGER I've ever eaten. The Mint was packed when I walked in on a Wednesday night and now I know why. When a restaurant makes their own ketchup, KETCHUP! You know you've found a dining nirvana. But before I expostulate on the divine ketchup, let me wax poetic about the chicken wings. Now, I've always found chicken wings to be, how shall I say it politely, revolting. Greasy, fatty, lumps of cartilage and skin that always seem fit for the dumpster. The wings at The Mint were sublime. Meaty, juicy, crispy, perfectly sauced bites that go beyond description. And, I don't even like wings! They were so good, I ordered seconds. But oh friends, the burger, those burgers, because I ordered two. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and served with bacon jam, these burgers can only be fashioned and cooked by angels. I count myself lucky in very few departments: I have a daughter who loves me, a life partner who puts up with me and now a restaurant that will be my request for my last meal should I end up on death row. Go to The Mint. Have my friend Kat make you a drink, order some wings and a burger, sit back, say "Damn!" and realize you've found a slice of heaven on earth, then save a spot for me because this is my happy place.

I'm new to the area and this is one of the only places I go. I'm obsessed with their handmade PBR fries and the ranch they make. It's a cute, cool, clean, old Western bar. Staff is friendly; I actually feel comfortable going there by myself. Great prices, great variety, I love it!

July 4 weekend, busy place but our server pulled it off! Mac n cheese was a hit. Fried chicken sandwich better than the chicken filet place. Will be back for the next rodeo weekend!

Go for Sunday brunch ! It's DELICIOUS. I got the Blackstone Benny & it was so good I almost cried ! My friends got chicken & waffles and Huevos rancheros & they also loved it. GO GO GO , Staff is very sweet.

This place is just great. Good people good food great atmosphere. The steak is really good. All the food is really good. Best burger in town. Freindly staff.

I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my daughter ordered the pork chop. My order was pretty good but daughter said she's had better. For the money she finished it anyhow. The hours are very limited which isn't great for tourists. Did steer another group of travelers in, hopefully they liked what they ordered.

We like it! Good beer on draft, some Moscow mules, old school atmosphere. It's all about the company you keep and the person that you are. If you hate it anywhere, blame yourself!!! Yay Mint!

Giving it 3 stars since did have a nice atmosphere. I had an issue during each visit but bartender took care of both. The first was no big deal. Just forgot nacho appetizer order. Again no big deal. Second was worse and I'll leave details off. Again, bartender took care of it. My husband enjoyed his food but I've been unable to go back.

Had a rare black & blue burger, it can with a side of house made ketchup & PBR fries. It was amazing & the ketchup was fantastic. Two others at the table had the sirloin steak with fried green beans & mashed potatoes & thought it was great! Definitely recommend this place. Pleasant surprise in the men's bathroom also!

The Mint has new owners and sadly it's just not the same. The menu has changed. They took away the Depot Dipper and other favorites, put on new items and raised prices but dropped quality. Sigh. Service is not what it used to be either, although Evan still is the best bartender in town. He doesn't seem to be around as much though. I hope they get it together!! The phone number and webpage listed here are not valid anymore. Another sign that new managers are not really "with" it. Bummer!!! We loved the Mint, but it's in transition and it's not looking good.

Ended up at The Mint last night because the Italian place across the street was full. Ordered the $28 ribeye steak. The steak I was served was clearly a NY strip. Wrong shape, wrong fat content. Mentioned it to waiter who tried to argue that it was in fact a ribeye that had been "trimmed down". The ribeye and the my strip come form different parts of the cow. I'm not an idiot! Have no problem eating a strip here and there but don't want to pay for a ribeye and be served a strip. Don't lie on your menu and put your servers in a position to cover the error.

Great bar for drinkin'! And eating. Bartender is friendly and so are the customers. Try the ranch dressing with your fries. The pours are generous too.

We just moved to town and decided to walk around a little and have a beer and a bite. This was our first stop, a nice quiet little bar but the beer and whiskey selection was a little thin. We'll definitely be back.

I am so grateful for the owners and staff at the Mint Bar and Grill. They have kindly and deliberately navigated Covid while offering both the best of their standards, like taco Tuesday, beer and a burger Monday's, and Sunday Brunch (Amazing!!!!), and graceful service. My name is dawsun and I personally believe that this is the best bar in town....the bartenders are very fair to people who can't always pay their wait. The bar consistently tries to prepare the best possible meal available to the customer. They gave me the opportunity to perform in front of a crowd through their open mic. I am debt and truly greatful for all the fond memories. Great luck....keep up the great work and thank you again from the bottom of my soul

Cool bar with cheap generous drinks. Tons of atmosphere with live music, a great juke box and patrons who know what to play on it. Interesting note: it seems to be legal to take drinks outside here :-)
