The Haflington is easily one of Hanoi’s coolest bars. It may not be on Asia’s Top 50, but it has popped up on a few “best bars” lists, and honestly, it deserves the hype.
Finding it was half the adventure. I was slightly confused at first until I spotted staff standing discreetly at the entrance. You actually walk through what looks like a local house, then climb two flights of stairs. Very secret bar energy.
Once inside, it’s stunning. The decor feels like a European museum, dark, elegant, and dramatic. The highlight is a massive dinosaur skeleton hanging on the top floor, which I did not expect but absolutely loved.
I tried two special Christmas cocktails, both very festive with warm notes like cinnamon and spice. Two drinks was my limit, but I’d definitely come back to explore the regular menu next time. The bartenders speak excellent English, the vibe is calm and classy, and it’s a perfect spot for a solo drink or a quiet night out.
