The Best Mexico City Coffee Shops For Getting Work Done

"Even if you don’t have a ton of work to do, Buna La Tostadora is worth a visit for the space alone. It’s inside an old textile factory that’s been repurposed into office and studio spaces, and the location of the cafe also doubles as its roasting plant. Buna’s proximity to artist studios draws a creative crowd, and their unusual open terrace, abundance of seating options, and nice, strong coffee create an ideal work environment, especially if you have to work through a 50-item to-do list. Buna is incredible — the vibe here is incredible. It’s located in a beautifully repurposed old factory, surrounded by other creative studios and craft shops, giving the whole area a unique urban-meets-artisan feel. The coffee itself is outstanding, but what truly sets Buna apart is their pour-over experience (filtrado). Ask for one, and they’ll guide you to a tent-like room called El Cafetal, where the magic happens. I had the Geisha, and it was brewed to perfection — delicate, aromatic, and showcasing all the distinct notes this variety is known for. The barista was incredibly friendly, even shared the brew recipe with me, and I ended up buying a bag of the same beans to take home. The atmosphere is pure bliss — a perfect blend of urban brutalism and lush jungle vibes. If you love great coffee and thoughtful experiences, Buna is an absolute must in Mexico City.

One of the best coffee places (if not the best) I’ve been in Mexico City. It’s magical, the staff is amazing and coffees are delicious.

Buna might be the prettiest coffee shop I have ever been to. It is open and airy, with a ton of greenery and ample space for people to lounge and work. Think coffee bazaar. I tried the cappucino, which was rich and delicious, but the real star of the show was the filtrado (pour over). It was incredibly smooth, without any hint of acidity. It almost felt like they added a bicarbonate of some kind to the brew. In any case, a perfect space to spend time with your friends or get some work done!

I went on a weekend and it was packed but still managed to find somewhere to sit since they have tons of space. Internet is fast and it’s not too loud so it’s possible to work. I had the turmeric tea and it honestly was kind of gross but I should have asked for honey. I also had one of the Serrano toasts and it was very underwhelming quality for what I was expecting. Staff is great.

Beautiful coffee shop! Really loved the cafechata drink (coffee + horchata), one of the best ones I’ve had in the city so far. But the only negative thing about this place is that the WiFi is soooo bad. It’s the worst place to try to get any work done. But if you’re only coming to read, write, or chat with friends, it’s a great place to do that.

Amazing location and delicious coffee and treats. Really relaxing and comfy place to spend a whole afternoon! Marco, Mich and Mike were helpful, quick, and great baristas who seem to really enjoy their job.

This is a lovely coffee shop that’s located in the most beautiful of buildings here. The tea and coffee are on point and you can work in the space too. It’s my first time and I’ll definitely be back.
