I......like, Zeitgeist.
I would love to know why they close so damned early, though.
I miss the Seattle that used to be all about coffee. The Seattle that was full of AWESOME Coffee places.
Places that were all about sitting, relaxing, reading actual books, meeting and having conversations with people.
WHY? Why has the Seattle culture changed so very drastically over the last 10 or so years?
Coffee places used to NOT close before 12 Midnight. Some were even open late enough, until 4:00am, to catch the bar crowd, closed for 2 hours then open again at 6:00am.
Back then, Seattle was FAMOUS for being a place to enjoy, to relax, to be social, to engage, to explore.
But not anymore! When even the coffee places close by 7:00pm at the latest, where is there to go to relax, and engage?
Why are the only choices anti-social alcohol intoxication, or going home?
Hey Zeitgeist ever hear of BOOKS? Do I have to list all of Seattle's AWESOME independent booksellers for you? What about Seattle's Athenium?
Seattle does still have a very robust Book culture.
No two things come together better than an awesome coffee place and a community's Book Reading Culture.
Stay open. Until 11:00pm, and cross promote with the independent Book Sellers, the athenium. Engage with community Book groups.
Grab that after dinner crowed! Work with the Pioneer Square District, to bring people back. Cross promote with other businesses.
Make Seattle the place to enjoy, and to engage that it was.
