tasca pete easily entered my top 3 restaurants in lisbon.
i arrived with high expectations, and every single one was exceeded.
the staff — joão and gabriel! — were fantastic, attentive, knowledgeable and great at guiding us through the dishes and pairings.
the focaccia with smoked butter is much better than i imagined. i could honestly eat a whole plate of it, especially when it comes out warm. the potato with goat cheese, beetroot sauce and pistachios is a standout.
perfect texture, unexpected flavours that work beautifully, and a generous portion meant to be shared. no surprise it’s one of their best sellers.
the fried chicken is excellent, crispy on the outside and juicy inside not dry at all. i only wished for a bit more sauce. the sea bass with cabbage fully deserves all the praise it gets!
perfectly cooked fish, crispy skin, amazing sauce. order extra focaccia to enjoy every drop.
the chocolate mousse with olive oil and fleur de sel is impeccable, even for someone without strong nostalgia for this dessert. the wine list is great, and the staff’s recommendations were perfect.
i’ll definitely return many times and will recommend tasca pete to anyone visiting lisbon. it’s small and reservations can be tricky, but absolutely worth it.
