This place totally blew me away! The ambiance is spectacular - such a great place to cozy up to the bar and have an expertly crafted cocktail. And the food - wow. I had the gnocchi and smoked salmon and it was fantastic - most everything on the menu was European inspired but with a twist. I’ve been to pubs all over the place including England/Ireland and the food here was the best I’ve had out of any. Honestly this may be my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to. And the prices were very reasonable! Will be going back any time I am passing through Huntsville, for sure!

This was a fun place to eat. Food was more European than British but tasty nonetheless. Shepherd’s pie was great with a carrot mash. Octopus has a good Mediterranean taste to it and the fish and chip was very British. We ordered the crab cake and onion soup as starters and both were tasty. We finished wit$ a sticky toffee pudding that makes my daughter remember Gordon Ramsey.

Don’t get fooled into just thinking it’s London pub fare. We started with the roast beef bone marrow and then shared the pig bone-in steak and the veal short loin. Both were fantastic! I would drive back from Tuscaloosa for that meal again. I’ve heard the steaks are even better. Can’t wait to try them.

Google
Super cool atmosphere for a restaurant and pub. The food was fantastic by the way! We both tried things we have never had before and man were they both delicious! The beer was good and the staff was super friendly. We can’t wait to go back.

My wife and I went here not too long ago and we haven’t stopped talking about how good it was! Tucker our waiter knew the menu inside and out. He gave us great suggestions on food and drinks. Everything we got was top-notch delicious. We started out with the Crab cakes and the Potato Gnocchi dish then shared the Shepherds Pie and had 2 more meals after that from what we took home. Nonetheless a great place to grab a bite and drinks. Plus the patio is dog friendly! Thank you Tucker for the great experience.

Google
I highly recommend checking out the Poppy and Parliament. We started out dinner out with cocktails which were very good and in my opinion fairly priced. For our entrees I got the Octopus and my girlfriend got the Sheppard's pie. Additionally the Sheppard's pie came with a carrot mash. Both were great but we both had a preference to the pie and mash. Service was great and our server Tucker was both kind and attentive.

Google
Tonight's food adventure led me here! Atmosphere was very peaceful and busy all in one. Had French Onions soup good but a little extra flavor desired for me...but...redemption came with the crab cakes! The presentation and all of the flavors was unbelieveable to me for the price point! Something expected in a Michelin restaurant almost! Excelllent Expresso Martini and excellent excellent service..

Google
The food was fantastic when we finally received it. The fish and chips were very good. The crab cakes were very flavorful and could be a meal all in themselves. The bangers and mash are mediocre at best. Old fashions were made correctly, which is rare around Huntsville. All in all, the service was horrid. We were there for an hour and a half and received our food right when we had to leave. So we had to eat it later. The food however was fantastic. We will go back and hope to enjoy the establishment.

Yelp
P&P was recommended to us when we first moved to Huntsville and, two years later, finally ate there. Cool pub-like interior and a great English menu. I had Fish & Chips (a nice portion of cod, beautifully fried) and my wife had the Tart Monsieur which was EXCELLENT! This was will be on our regular rotation now!

Yelp
Everything was delicious. It was not too salty and not too oily and it had a gentle taste. The tartar sauce was also handmade and delicious. Thank you to the person who chopped the boiled eggs and onions into small pieces.

Yelp
The Poppy and Parliament is my downtown comfort zone. You walk in and instantly feel like you've discovered something special, even though everyone else already knows how good it is. The bangers and mash? Life changing. It's hearty, creamy, and just fancy enough to make you feel like you're doing something right with your evening. The steaks never miss. Always tender, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. The specials are always worth a look, and if you've been skipping the soups, fix that mistake immediately. They're ridiculously good. The French onion deserves its own fan club. The drinks hold their own against the food. The cocktails are creative without being weird, and the draft beer list makes it hard to pick just one. The service is friendly, quick, and genuinely glad you're there. Cozy, delicious, and consistently excellent. Downtown Huntsville wouldn't be the same without it.

Yelp
The food and drinks are good. The vibe is casual but nice. However I have a Tree nut allergy and the waitress had asked but proceeded to serve a dish with it and told me after it was well and too late. Did not apologize or let anyone know. I would not recommend if you have any food allergies. Edit: I called back to talk with the manager and he was extremely apologetic. He had not been made aware of the situation when it occurred.

Yelp
Wow what a fabulous place. Amazing food for brunch or dinner. The staff is incredibly kind. We always have a great time here.

Yelp
We did the Sunday brunch this week and it was amazing! Excellent homemade Bloody Mary's, nice and spicy. I had the Scotch Eggs. My what a wonderful choice. It was prepared absolutely perfect. My wife had the crab and spinach omelette. It too was amazing. There were eight of us, but they were able to accommodate us right away. If you haven't been for brunch, you don't know what you're missing.

Yelp
Fantastic upscale British menu! The fish and chips had a huge piece of perfectly done fish.

Yelp
Want to experience a little bit of England, while in downtown Huntsville, AL?! Well, look no further than The Poppy & Parliament ( @poppyandparliament )! They have a phone box, as you enter (aka red phone booth) , great beer selection, food that The Royals would love and even a meat, cheese and British goodies store, upstairs! It really makes me reminiscent of London! The people, quality of service and great detail, in selections, is just superb! This is a great gathering place, for anyone who wants to have a cozy, casual, fun experience! Yelp
Our new favorite place. The food is excellent and the drinks are perfect. I have tried something different each time and it all has been amazing. Great atmosphere and management and staff are very friendly.

Yelp
What can I say - this birthday meal for my wife was amazing. Everything was perfect, from the apps to the finalé. Crab cakes - TDF! Bangers and mash, awesomeness (the colcannon was spot on). Even the shepherd's pie was delish - And the carrot mash with hollandaise was the cherry on top. Finally? Fish N Chips - very authentic. We spent over $300 on dinner and it was worth every penny! A birthday dinner my wife will remember.

Yelp
The most authentic fantastic Pub is here in Huntsville! Where else can you enjoy a great pint along side frog legs and fried green tomatoes then follow that up with fish n chips wrapped in newspaper?! Great night for the patio. Fantastic pints. Food was all delicious. Service was very good on a busy night. Great menu will have something for everyone. Start with the specials, as they're limited runs. If you're in Huntsville and want a good meal, this will easily fit that bill.

Yelp
We came here with family for Sunday brunch and the food, service, and atmosphere were all great. The scotch eggs, mushroom toast, fish and chips, and English breakfast were all delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was a hit also. Friendly service and a cute English pub look inside and out. Metered parking is free on the weekend.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance. Great bar. Kitchen closed from 2:00p to 4:00p. Bartender didn't want to give me a menu to consider at 3:50p. Refused to give me the "specials" menu until 4:00p, even though I agreed that I would wait until 4:00p to order. It's a PUB, bub. The Swiss are known for their punctuality. The Brits? Bend an arm? Bend a rule, with a wink. Star down. At 4:00p, exactly, another bartender came up and took our orders, which must be obeyed at all ---- nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. This has to be an East German restaurant, with an amazing disguise. We ordered the charcuterie board for two. We were told that it was BIG. Really BIG. Could feed FOUR. Maybe feed Rhode Island! Even after we ordered it, the Totally Swiss-style clock-watching bartender returned, to warn us of its bigosity. When we told him that we feared not, he said: "Wow." I asked: "Do y'all have a lift truck for this thing? Do we need to clear a couple of stools at the bar?" I was worried that word, far and wide, would start to spread. That I'd turn to my left, and some lovely Dutch couple would be oddly smiling at me. "We heard there'd be an order soon. We flew to Huntsville, to witness the fools who would fail to conquer it. Two astronauts tried, but no one talks about that, ever. Ask the Swiss-ish bartender. He'll tell you." BIG. It showed up. Big board. Not a big selection. The poor runner who dropped it off? He couldn't even pronounce most of what was on it. The mortadella, and salami both rocked. The Bacalao fried balls of salted cod? Rockstar good. There were a couple of small cheese concoctions. Underweight on the cheese. No honey, but a couple of chutneys. Beet one? Awesome. Green one? Acidic and a flavor atonal music fest, rather than a symphony. The prosciutto? Sliced so thickly that it looked more like thick cut bacon. Star-down. Last, on the board? A mystery concoction. It was in a bowl that looked more like a cheese topped kiddie pool. (BIG). No one knew what it was. Bartenders conjectured. "The chef changes things all of the time." That? Truly sucked. No seasoning. I mean NONE. I had to add salt to get it to edible. Maybe someone forgot. The ingredients, beef cheese and bit of spinach and chickpeas? Could've been a contender. Could've been something, instead of a BUM dish. Which is what it was. Overall, the menu is limited, specialized, and not as British. It's more New Brit. French onion soup. Gnocchi. I saw a tartare delivered. How about some lovely British crackers? Plating? Kind of... gross? It's also more of a high quality craft bar, than a pub. Great wall, full of top shelf liquors, and lots of things to mix with. That they do especially well. We had Pimm's Cup that rocked. Later, went upstairs, to a hidden gem British market, with its own butcher shop, coffee bar and British goodies. Perfect place to serve sandwiches, coffees, TEAS, and maybe the more British cold fare. Nope. They don't do that . Lots of great goodies to take home, if you like British goods. That place should kill. The only reason that I knew that it was there was the sign on the staircase. Place was empty, up there other than staff. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Checking out, with Apple Pay? Total clusterf**k. Took ten minutes, and they couldn't get it to work, Apparently POS system #3 that continues to be a POS. Toast? Anyone? Bueller? ANYONE?!!! Star down, BIG aspirations. Small minded approach to hospitality. Sad, because it oozes promise, with more attentive and less "retentive" front of the house management, and a chef more concerned with quality control of their work. Won't thrill ya. Won't kill ya.

Yelp
Wow! I was blown away by the food. It was my husband's pick and I did not have high hopes since I had this kind of food before. Obviously, I had not gone to the right place! We got the crab cake appetizer-- soooooo good. Hubs got the Bone In Cowboy steak. He was in heaven. I went a little different and tried a warm salad. It was super good!! Im not even a vegetarian. Then.... we got dessert. We were on vacation, don't judge. STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! Get it! (tho Im sure other desserts are good, too).

Food was satisfactory, service was spot on and the ambiance was spot on parking can be a challenge

Yelp
I passed this place by, thinking it was standard British pub food; fish and chips and crappy Shepard pie. No. That's not this place. I just ate one of the best carpaccio salads I've ever had. They apparently make their own carpaccio from locally sourced beef. And the arugula was simple with olive oil and lemon juice. Perfect. Nothing heavy handed. They aren't trying to hide behind an overwhelming sauce. Now (limited menu due to construction) I'm eating their open faced mortadella and roast beef sandwich. Again, nothing heavy handed. The meat and sparse (that is a good thing) fantastic pesto do not hide subpar ingredients behind an overwhelming sauce. This place is legit. I only regret that I tried three of the "high end" restaurants before coming here. I see no reason not to eat here exclusively while in Huntsville. Could not recommend it more. And the service was excellent. I should add that the roast beef oro and mortadella were piled on and led the flavor. The pesto and horseradish dressing were like a great backing band but the main show was the meat. I will end this with "mmmmmmm that's gooood"

Carol L.

Yelp
Went to the "high tea" today. We were seated in the bar section with sports on the tv and patrons sitting at the bar talking loudly. So the "tea" ambiance was lost. Also the food was mediocre and service was slow. We received a mug of hot water but no tea bags for 5 minutes. Then waited close to 10 additional minutes for cream and sugar to be brought to the table. I would give this a C-

Yelp
Decided to try out the Poppy and Parliament for a little variety in Huntsville food tastings. I was a bit disappointed by the sheer lack of food offerings on the menu as well as the prices being so high for Huntsville which is not a high cost of living city by any means. I decided to stay and try out a must try food at any British pub. I ordered the Fish and Chips and couldn't wait to give them a try. When they came out, they were wrapped in newspaper and we had to open them up ourselves to see them piping hot and steamy. That was an impressive display for sure. For me, the ratio of breading to fish seemed a little bit off, but it was still delicious. I also loved the condiments that came with the dish as they complimented it well. For what the dish is supposed to be, it did not disappoint. I'd definitely recommend coming for a pint when you are in the area I just can't say I would choose this spot as both the dinner and drinks venue for the night.

Yelp
Honestly, the BEST fish & chips I've ever had! That with a Guinness is all I would need at a place like this. The price is fairly high for fried fish and chips BUT worth it when the craving arrives every once in awhile. We will be back!

David F.

Yelp
We were in Muscle Shoals for golf and spent the night in Huntsville before our flight home the next day and found this place on Yelp. What an amazing experience! Classic British Pub vibe, the staff was incredibly friendly (even offering tips on places for live music), and the food was insanely good. The bone marrow appetizer was top 5 things I've ever eaten. Also got the fish and chips and it was perfectly cooked. Would come back to Huntsville just to eat here again

E P.

Yelp
I don't often throw around 5 stars but....here's a solid one. The decor is spot on, very authentic, and provides an immersive atmosphere. The wait staff (Tucker) and management (Jason?) were positive and genuine, which added the experience. The food? Overall it exceeded expectations and was the best dining experience in a very very long time. It feels very thoughtfully prepared and fresh. The gnocchi appetizer was delicious and the fish and chips was perfectly cooked with a tempura crust. The bangers and mash was as perfect a comfort food entree as can be found. The cocktail, an old fashioned concoction with a Guinness twist, was savory and rich, perfect for this lovely evening. Whatever you do, don't miss this restaurant experience in Huntsville.

Yelp
It was great stoped here the other night was in town for work. It looked like a relaxed experience. The staff was very nice and friendly they stoped by every few minutes to check water and beers if we needed anything she explained the menu in great detail. We got the shepherds pie, fish and chips and French onion soup all worth it. Having spent time in the UK the was a Pleasant Place. Will for sure stop in next time I am in town

Yelp
Pretty decent place to eat. I was feeling no pain when it was time to order and my wife wasn't the voice of reason I needed when I said I was going to order a $180 cowboy ribeye. The menu said it was enough to feed two so I thought it would be a nice challenge. The 40 ounce steak was 30 ounces of bone, 2 ounces of inedible fat and a few decent if not spectacular bites. Steak was slightly overcooked to me and was served to me sliced like I was a toddler. ‍ Not worth it. Our apps were okay though the chips or whatever was served with the beef tartar weren't a great fit. Our service was good and there were a couple good beer choices too.
google avatar

Ed F.

Yelp
Authentic fish and chips right down to the newspaper and mushy peas. Shepherds pie is a hearty lunch option. So authentic that the "football" on the TV uses a round ball. Lunch on the sidewalk on a nice day is a good option.
google avatar

Tess O.

Yelp
I love fish and chips, but this was extremely disappointing. The fish was over fried and not much fish inside. The fries were fine really liked the homemade tartar sauce. For $22 you should do better. My espresso martini was very good. Our server was very nice and answered all our questions.
google avatar

Hannah A.

Yelp
Overall very exceptional experience! The waitress was very kind, but service was quite slow, but that is to be expected with such a popular restaurant. The place was very clean despite being very busy. The charcuterie selection is a must try! I also got the special vegetable bisque and that was good, just very heavy on the fennel flavor. TRY THE STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING

Yelp
Ambiance... exactly what is expected Food... better than you'd think Drinks...the promise is confirmed Service.... Over delivered. Carol the best server I have ever had the pleasure of being around! If the food makes you come to Poppy, Carol makes you return. Carol is the deliver of fine food, handler of delicious liquors and the bringer of joy!!! I think they should dismantle the red phone booth from a-front the restaurant and replace it with a statue of Carol fighting a dragon... nay... Slaying a dragon. Have Carol, slaying a dragon, holding a beer in one hand and serving me the most incredible plate of fish and chips in the other hand! Please erect this statue (lol... I just got away with writing erect in a survey and you all loved it)!!!! To summarize this survey.. know Carol is amazing, the food is delicious enough to have me write this incredible review and the alcohol served proof enough to have me want to! Favorite restaurant in Alabama and best experience in a long time. Oh... I met Dave and he's awesome too.

Yelp
My wife and I have dined here 4or 5 times. This is a good date night spot in downtown Huntsville. We love the atmosphere and its menu offers dishes with creative takes. Our recent visit was not the best experience. This past Saturday date night, we found the restaurant to be unclean. Tables and chairs were scattered about. The host had to clear a path. We were sat at a dirty table that was unprepared. Now, if we were at The Waffle House, this is to be expected. At the price point of The Poppy and Parliament, I expect better. Our waiter was competent enough but lacked a personality. He mainly stared at us blankly. We had to initiate every conversation. Our dishes were good. No complaints about the food. The desert was less desirable for me. I guess I'm not a fan of bread pudding. We will give P&P another chance. The atmosphere is too good.
google avatar

AeKyung Y.

Yelp
The food and wine was absolutely flavorful! The service was exactly what I needed. I sat outside and enjoyed the weather. The servers could most definitely read the room and not be overly pushy or complete disappearance! This most def is a hot spot for dinner or chill and observe spot. It doesn't matter if you're going solo or with a group. This spot is a need to check out spot!
google avatar

Heather N.

Yelp
Cute place, unique menu, friendly service. I had the sardines which were really tasty but I didn't realize it was a pasta dish. The ribs were good & the sauces/dips it came with were delicious. My group liked everything we ordered!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
This place is super cool and has the feel of an actually pub in Europe. Coming from a big Irish family this is hands down the best shepherds pie I have from a restaurant. They use lamb instead of beef which makes a big difference. The garlic and parsnip soup was also a 5/5. Service was slow At times but it appeared they were under staffed so I can't hold that against our server. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. They also pour a Guinness perfectly!
google avatar

P L.

Yelp
Food and drinks are always great! Ambiance is chill but elevated. It feels good in there. The shepherds pie is my fav!! All the cocktails are on point. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I love Poppy for the patio, beer, and charcuterie board (& their shop with the best meats, cheese, etc)! However, this time my friends and I went on quite a busy Sunday night and sat at the bar. My friend and I ordered a Paloma which I thought was too sour; however the Elderberry Bramble is delightful. My friend and husband ordered the fish & chips which I've had before - very salty tonight (& the waitress was slow on bringing any water). The fries are subpar. For a $25 dish I expect deliciousness. I ordered the crab cake appetizer (I believe $18). They are coated and fried in a batter similar to the fish. I did not enjoy them and I really really wanted to. They were not slacking on crab meat, the center of the cake was cold and there was just something missing. The fried potato crisps on top of the hollandaise had gotten soggy. Overall not the best night, but everyone has their days. So I will be back!! For a lovely patio sit and charcuterie cheers

Yelp
British style steakhouse pub with excellent cuts of meat and service. They don't take reservations but we got seated quickly. Cute intimate British style inside. Wait staff was great and responsive.

Anna T.

Yelp
If I could give this place more than five stars, I definitely would. I would definitely give our server, Carol, 100 stars! She was absolutely amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, genuine and so very personable! The food could have been crap and the service would have made up for it, BUT the food was freaking amazing!!!!! I picked this restaurant based off of one food item that I wanted to try, but I found out it was only served at lunchtime and on Sundays, so my husband and I settled for something else and I'm so glad we did. The Bacon Ribs were off the chart good! Portion size was amazing and the Beef Fat Fried Chips were great! I don't like tartar sauce but this stuff was so good I got it to go! Dessert is in our room waiting for later!!! The location was super cool and the inside definitely reminded me of the Scottish/English theme! Beautifully decorated, chill vibe and cool people! My husband also had one of the best old fashions ever! We would definitely make the 2 1/2 hour drive just to come and eat up here even if we weren't staying!

Yelp
Excellent service and a great atmosphere. We just had drinks but it was a nice spot. Authentic British menu so check it out prior. I have a picky eater so we skipped the food. lol

Yelp
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Absolute gem in the heart of beautiful Huntsville. Steak was delicious. Staff and Management were fantastic

Yelp
Stopped in today for lunch with team members on Thursday, 4/10/25. We had researched their menu before arriving and honestly wanted to try some of their dishes. F-That! We will never go there again, attempt to go there again, or refer ANYBODY we know or do not know. We walked into an EMPTY restaurant. We sit in the bar area, maybe 3 tables in. The blonde bartender asks, "Can you go back and wait by the host desk for someone to seat us?". RUFKM!? She then left the bar to get someone else. Whoever she is has no concept of good service whatsoever. When she went to get someone else to tell us where to sit in front of the bar, we looked at each other and said F this place. They don't get our money, and we're never going back, and we're normal patrons to eateries on the square. P&P will never get our business nor anyone else we talk to if we can help it. It all started with their bartender's crappy attitude and worse service. PS - let my lead read this before posting this; his words, "Accurate", to the experience today. We walked out of P&P straight to Del Chuco's. Now they know good service, and the food is amazingly good. A complete 180 from P&P. They could learn from the owners and serves of Del Chuco's. Go there instead, and that's IMHO. With restaurants fighting for business these days, it's incredible a place like this is still in business with employees like that.

Yelp
on the plus side, nice selection of draft beers. had to try the fish and chips as that was all the rave. I found the fish batter too salty and the fish itself was soft and squishy, like it had been frozen. chips were undercooked. my service was spotty. bartender had other socializing happening.

Yelp
I've been here at least a dozen times and today raised the bar even higher. For context, I'm half English and lived there for many years so have a lot of pub experience. My dad was visiting tien and although he's American he lived in England for around 11 years. Starting with ambiance, we sat in the mezzanine because the bar and dining room were packed with the soccer game. It was pleasant. The exposed brick and original wood pair well with the classic pub decor. Concerning service, our server Barbora was great. Knowledgeable, quick, had to run up and down stairs non stop. She was pleasant and stayed on top of me downing waters and barely touching my beer. She was very attentive. Also the manager, Dave, came by and chatted. He told my guests about the building and some info about the restaurant. He's always nice but really showed warm hospitality to my visitors. Now with the food. Wowza. We got the scotch eggs and they were PERFECT. Plus the mango chutney and side salad were an excellent pairing. The parsnip soup was rich and lovely with a parm crisp. Perfect texture. The fish and chips were a total hit and every crumb was eaten. The mushy peas were also great as usual. The full English had all the trimmings. The mushrooms had a sauce on them but we couldn't quite place it. Maybe tarragon cream? It didn't seem to be a bearnaise I'll ask later. The house cured back bacon and the Cumberland sausage makes me nostalgic. I ordered a chicken curry Cornish pasty and was so full I barely touched it. But the few bites were excellent. I'm about to have the rest for dinner. Beautiful pastry crust. The chef's plating was clean and simple. Plus we had the opportunity to chat with him; Cameron. Great execution overall. I already loved this place. They really impressed my visiting pub aficionado as well as his girlfriend who is a lifelong foodie from NOLA (America's culinary capital IMO.) We went to the Gourmet Store upstairs afterwards to pick up a few things. It was difficult not to buy things from the butcher side. Great job, Poppy & Parliament

Yelp
Authentic-feeling English pub. They have an assortment of traditional and new pub fare and are well-positioned as a steakhouse. They butcher their own meat as well as sell meat from the butcher shop on the second floor. The second floor also has a gift shop featuring all things British. I started with a craft beer - they have an adequate offering with a few local drafts and European drafts. They also have a full bar and fairly large wine list. For dinner I had the bangers and mash. It was a very good dish although the sausage casing was a bit tough and hard to chew. The mash and gravy were excellent. For dessert I had the Sticky Toffee, a small, but delectable cake with burnt toffee icing and fresh whipped cream.

Yelp
Perfect balance of Ireland meets England best experience of fish and chips w/ homemade tartar sauce, and mushy peas I have ever had from my travels. Presentation to flavor is amazing Perfect, pour Guinness ‍ Cozy pub, friendly staff Neat grocery and butcher shop upstairs

Yelp
Absolutely great spot. Super server and management. Food was amazing. We did have a friend that was hoping for a burger. Maybe that can be added to the menu.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and both times were good. Not great or worthy of 5 stars but good! A 3.5 star rating is probably more accurate. For my first visit, we sat outside since it was a lovely day. This is a nice option, weather permitting. We started with the fried green tomato appetizer, and I really enjoyed it. They definitely needed salt though, and none was on the table. I then got some sort of fish, salmon, and crab plate. To be honest, I am not really sure what I ordered. The menu was somewhat confusing to me. When it was brought out, I was shocked. It was not what I was expecting. It was okay, but I would never order it again. The worst part of the dish was the dry, unflavored bread that the seafood was served on. It appeared to be old. Something wasn't right with it. I also tried their homemade hot chocolate. This was fun to get for the Christmas season, but it didn't blow me away or anything. We decided to come back when family was in town. My father-in-law stopped inside while we were exploring downtown to see if we could get our name on a list. This was around 4 PM, and he asked if we could have our name down for a table of 8 for around 5 PM. According to my FIL, the person he spoke to was somewhat rude and did not want to accommodate this. They do not take reservations here. We ended up coming back right around 5 PM, and we only had to wait 10 minutes or so for a table. This was a Friday evening. We each tried a different cocktail on the menu. We all agreed that the cocktails were the best part of our experience here. We got a few different appetizers to share and various entrees. I got the fish and chips since I knew it was something they are known for here. It was good, but again, it did not blow me away. We each liked our dishes but no one seemed to love them. We would return for the atmosphere. Service overall was nice. On our next visit, we will likely stick with appetizers and drinks.

Yelp
The Poppy & Parliament in an upscale English pub that offers English and Irish food with items like fish & chips. The Poppy & Parliament is located in a fantastic location in Downtown Huntsville, AL on their historic square. The Poppy is the pub side of this establishment opened up back in 2019 while the Parliament is the restaurant side that opened up in 2020. They also have a meat market and shop upstairs that is quite worthwhile to visit. I was excited to sample their traditional British fish & chips with a proper Imperial pint of beer. I really enjoyed my beer and the fish while some of the chips were a bit on the raw side and needed a bit more time in the fryer. Speaking of frying they do fry things the right way here in beef tallow. Overall if you're looking for an English pub bar experience this might be a place for you to investigate. Yelp
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The service was stellar! The manager even stopped by to chat after being given a tidbit of a conversation with our waiter. The drinks were wonderful and creative. The food was out of this world. I was in town visiting a friend and this will forever be my number one choice when I come to town. So worth it in every way.

Yelp
Their cowboy bone in ribeye carved at the table is the best steak I have ever had!! We had 4 people share it and it was plenty of food. Their fish and chips are the best anywhere and steak tartare is incredible as is their gnocchi and their brunch It is a great pub but so much more!!

Yelp
We came in for appetizers and drinks, and it was amazing! The crab cakes were fantastic, and the cocktails were just different enough to be special. Perfect for a date night!
