"Amazing Contemporary Art in San Antonio The Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum is the first and longest running venue for contemporary and modern art in San Antonio . It features a plethora of exhibitions each year and always has something going on at the museum. It also hosts concerts and performance art events. The museum is a great place to visit and has had a significant impact on the surrounding communities and the city of San Antonio. One of the best things about the museum is that it's accessible from the River Walk trail network and can be reached from downtown on a short bike ride. It's located in a great neighborhood with no shortage of activities, so it's worth the trip even if you aren't a contemporary art lover."

Hill Creek Studio at Blue Star. Take your time when you walk in here because there's loads to see. You know I like to go all one direction and then come back and go the other way because you're going to be surprised at how many things you missed. The gentleman there was incredibly helpful and very fun to talk to. There are loads of tchotchkes and art and boots and all kinds of goodies. The leather worked goods there were very beautiful and one of the pieces decided it wanted to go home with me. And who was I to argue? Lol. Put it on your shopping list!

I brought my family down to the river the night of the Christmas lighting so we could rent the electric bikes and ride downtown. We had a blast and my truck stayed safe at the Blue Star…

This museum was very cool and it had exhibits that felt so familiar, but in an uneasy sort of way. It’s difficult to describe, but it’s a GOOD thing!
One of the artists’ inspiration was from a piece of firewood that he took off his dad’s woodpile before he left the home. It was so touching and the art he created from that feeling was very relatable for me. The presentation of the lone piece of wood with the story behind it was so touching. I’ll admit that I teared up a bit as I read the plaque… sometimes the best art isn’t art at all.

Fantastic spot with multiple varieties of bars and shops. First Friday here is always a blast and the art in the upstairs studios change every week. The local artists proudly showcasing their work there are always willing to answer any questions and tell you more about their beautiful artwork. Not to mention it's situated right on the San Antonio Riverwalk, beautiful scenery, that span from conception all the way downtown. Absolutely check this place out.

I come here to sell art, I don't sell much but I get to meet people, the parking lot is a little cramped, public transit for the area could be a lot better and would benefit greatly from a closer park and ride, but I do understand, it's sandwiched between an industrial district and a historic neighborhood.

Raw atmospherics…meaning it’s a largely unfinished brewery environment by design, crafty, no nonsense. Good food and variety of beer. Great lunch place for work colleagues or Friday night out. Casual hangout with good size bar.
