We were extremely disappointed with our visit, especially as we had booked well in advance to celebrate my birthday.
Our reservation was at 20:45, yet we were initially seated at a very cramped table against the wall where the second chair barely fit. When we politely asked to move, we were told this was not possible despite several empty tables. Only after further discussion were we eventually reseated, but by then the evening had already started on a negative note.
Although a small Danish flag was placed on the table, there was no further birthday acknowledgement throughout the evening, which was surprising given that most restaurants in Copenhagen usually offer at least a small greeting or gesture from the kitchen for such occasions.
We both ordered the three-course menu with wine pairing. The pacing was extremely slow: the starter arrived almost one hour after ordering, the main course not before 22:25, and dessert only around 23:00. Throughout the evening, used plates and glasses were repeatedly left on the table for long periods and were only cleared when we explicitly asked. At one point, the dirty dishes were simply stacked in front of us, which felt very unpleasant and far below the standard expected at this price level.
We chose to replace the dessert with the cheese course. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a very unusual and disappointing interpretation: it had a creamy, almost cream-cheese-like consistency served on a sweet mousse, topped with what seemed to be chocolate shavings. The combination felt incoherent and unappetising, and we were unable to finish it. At this level and price point, we would have expected a more classic and well-balanced cheese course rather than such an unexpected sweet composition. In addition, we were not informed in advance that replacing the dessert with the cheese course would incur an extra charge, yet the full cheese price was added to the bill without prior notice.
Later that evening, both of us felt unwell and had to vomit. As we only shared the starter and had different mains (beef and lobster), we suspect the scallop course may have been the issue, although we cannot confirm this.
It was clear that the kitchen and service team were under significant pressure, with staff constantly rushing. The restaurant has great potential, but the execution and overall experience were far from what one would expect at this price point.
Given the combination of service issues, lack of transparency regarding the additional cheese charge, the long waiting times, and the overall disappointing food quality, we do not feel that the experience reflected the value of the menu price. We would therefore appreciate an appropriate gesture of compensation and hope you will review this matter accordingly. - meanwhile the restaurant just responded with an AI generated standard sorry to hear answer. Overall, this was a very disappointing birthday dinner and, sadly, not an experience we would repeat
