They were really nice. Have amazing side dishes and great food. It is not too expensive either! Didn’t take too long to get our food was only around a 15 minute wait but you can also call ahead to place a pick up order!

I haven’t been feeling well and decided to order delivery… and I’m so happy I did. I absolutely love everything I got. The spicy pork is well seasoned and juicy, the cucumber kimchi was fresh and spicy, the seafood pancake is 10/10 as well. Very very happy I decided to try this restaurant out!! I can’t wait to go there in person. My picture doesn’t do it justice and it still look delicious!

Moving my reviews over from Yelp. Originally published 10/26/19: This may be something of a "me too" review but it's certainly deserved! Authentic stuff. Remarkably similar to what I ate when I was on the peninsula in the 90s and 00s. You can taste the fact that their food isn't rolling right off the back of the GFS truck and into the microwave. Flavors are fully developed and that only comes from taking enough time to season, marinade and cook. What did I have? It seems like it was almost one of everything. Every bite was amazing. Big flavors and certainly not for the faint of heart. From the kimbop to the mandu to the bulgogi and beyond, everything was as it should be. I'm a fan!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I always order the Chicken Bop Bowl, and I think I order every day if not every week! It's the perfect portion size, and tastes great! Highly recommend!

Love this place, I will end up coming here more often especially when you don’t want to cook yourself. I love how when you order something spicy it stays true to the recipe. I love everything I got, can’t wait to try more.

Wow, the jjajangmyeon was amazing! I loved the chewy, bouncy noodles, and the black bean sauce was perfectly made. It's so rich, savory, and full of delicious pork flavor.

ordered bibimbap, jjampong and spicy pork kimbap. everything was good. i do wish the rice hadn’t been packed separately from the bibimbap ingredients so as to cut down on packaging. the jjampong ingredients were generous (lots of tender pork, shrimp, mussels, squid) and a lot of veggies which were well cooked and soft. the spicy pork kimbap was very yummy, the rice was well seasoned and pork was generous. they also had a good selection of chilled items like kimchi, mandu and more.

Fuels my Korean craving and it is top notch. They have plenty of side dishes you can purchase in their fridges and as hot dishes. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. The service is good and while I wish there were seating inside, it's nice to take it to go. Love this place, definitely recommend if you're looking for delicious Korean food and wanting to try it.

It is hard to find a place that focus on traditional Korean street food! I am so happy to find S.O.S when I am in the area. It sold Kimbap, rice cake, etc, the ones that restaurant may put a very pricy tag to discourage me, or according to some Korean friends, too much effort to charge with low dollar. This place focused on take out, no fancy interior design, just the food and make it work! I am also happy that they sell all kinds of kimchi/bunchan. Wish there is one near where I live.

Oh so good! And afforable What I got a bunch of items to take to the park. I got the veggies kimbap, tokkbokki with ramen and seafood pancake with Kimchi ofcourse. The veggies kimbap was good and the tokkbokki ramen was good! The seafood pancake was ok.. but the portion was huge! The kimchi was fresh, not fermented enough but it was good at the time and mood. Environment Located in a plaza, it is a take out only restaurant. They have a fridge with all the banchan side dishes and also some soups that are done and ready to eat. They only take card over $10, anything under needs to be cash Niceness of the staff Very nice staff. I called in to make the order and they have the order ready to go when I got there. Dollar Very very affordable. The kimbap was under $5 and the pancake and tokkbokki was also under $10. The food was taste and very affordable Yes I would def return here. The only bad is that there is no seating if you wanted to eat there.

I've been meaning to try Sides of Seoul for a while (heard great reviews)!! It's a bit further out from the city (maybe 20 min from Central West End) but worth it! The restaurant is carry out only (no dine in--just a few chairs for while waiting for your order). We got the oxtail broth soup and the spicy pork kimbap -- the kimbap in particular was so so good!!! I wish we got more!! The pork was so flavorful without being too spicy and the side dishes included radish kimchi and some sort of veggie thing that was pickled perfectly. Would highly highly recommend! Will be going back

I am still a regular here. My usual lunch orders are the kimchi jjiage and spice pork lunchbox. I also like their pork Katsu lunchbox and mandoo. Must try their gochujiang caramel cookie - delicious!

today i was out and about, and decided to give S.O.S a go. baby it did not disappoint. it has a convenience store vibe, and it's take out only. (which i kinda love). you can either order food, and/or grab some homemade packed side dishes to bring home. i ordered kimchi to take home, and a bulgogi bowl to eat! incredibly flavorful, the bowl was hot til i got home (25min drive) and the worker who took my order was so sweet. there's so many food options, and it's all authentic korean. i will be back to try the kimbap! :) 10/10

By luck I found this authentic Korean dish store ( no dine in), Manu has almost everything, cold case offers soup and snacks; I like the convenience and quick order, rice rolls (Kimbap) are all very good and you can never beat the price!!!

I called to place my order and was told only 15-20 mins and it's be ready. I noticed it will be cheaper if you call instead of using the online ordering. It's pretty quiet once you get in since it's just a take out place. There are some chairs for waiting. I got the regular kimbop, donkatsu kimbop and spicy pork bowl bop. The kimbops are generous size. I think I ordered enough for two so I was eating some the next day!!! The spicy pork bowl bop is spicy! But great portion... just make sure you can handle the heat. SOS also offered lots of side dishes inside that you can buy before checking out!

What a find! An authentic Korean food oasis in the St. Louis area. The takeout dishes are delicious and true to traditional flavors, all at reasonable prices. It was so good, we went back twice during our three-day visit. Perfect spot when you're craving genuine Korean cuisine!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

SOS is takeout only so if you prefer a dine-in experience there is zero seating. Excellent food. Delicately prepared with fresh ingredients. We had the spicy bowl pork bop with extra egg. All served over steamed rice but if you prefer fried rice I am certain that may be an option too. Supreme service. We were told that our food would be a 30 minute wait and it was accurate but you would be amazed by how many people they serve so the wait is fitting.

I visited this take out spot since it was close to my hotel, and I was in the mood for Korean food. I tried the spicy tuna kimbop and the spicy pork bowl bop, and a coke. Unfortunately this restaurant is no longer dine in, so I had to eat in my rental car since I had another stop to make further into town and I didn't want to drive all the way back to the hotel. The seaweed roll - this was very interesting and I was expecting the tuna to be raw or sushi grade, but it was more like a tuna salad inside a sushi roll, with Korean items as the filling. It comes out warm and with 10 pieces. This is supposed to be spicy, but I didn't taste any spice in mine. Spicy Pork bowl - this was obviously spicy but also very flavorful and reminded me of food from a food truck back in Houston dishing out tasty koream street eats. That food truck now has a few brick and mortar locations. The service is friendly and prompt. There are american and korean drinks in a cold case near the register to grab and go. What more can you expect from a local take out spot.

5 stars for the kimbops (spicy tuna and veggie are my go to). 5 stars for the selection of sides that are packed and ready to go (i do wish the Kim chi was saltier/fermented, but maybe it's just too fresh?). 5 stars for service (quick and easy, take out only). The rest of the food items on the food menu aren't what I usually come for but I do indulge sometimes with a seafood pancake (which can be a little more doughy and not crispy but i don't mind) and ja jang myun.

Quick and reliable takeout Korean. Everything I've tried has been amazing, but some standouts are the Spicy Pork Bowl Bop, Kimchi Jjigae, and the Kimchi pancake. No dine in, but the quality of the food plus the option to buy bulk bulgogi for continued culinary adventures in the comfort of your own home make up for it. We'll often wrap the deliciousness up in a burrito with rice for easy grub on camping trips. Don't forget the gochujang cookie for the perfect sweet/spicy end to your meal!

We were craving Korean food so we decided to get SOS. This place is great. I have been here numerous times. In the past prior to COVID there was dine in option, now it is carry out only. Which was fine to us since it was a great day to enjoy the rare 70 degree weather. Once we got our food we headed to the park nearby which is less than ten minute away. The food were great and flavorful.

Sides of Seoul is a family run restaurant that brings authenic, homey Korean flavors. Wide veriety of banchans, kimbap, soups and rice dishes are offered for take-home only orders. It is located on Page Ave at Olivette. Plenty of parking are available in front of the restaurant. I was there last Monday at 6pm. The waitress patiently took my order and explained the wait time is 10 mins. Before the food comes out, I can check out the banchans at the refrigerators. My impression is all the kimbaps and dishes offered are very reasonably priced, though the banchans seems pricey. For the items I tried, here are my favorites: - Spicy Pork Kimbap: I love the kick of the spicy pork in the kimbap - Regular Kimbap: Simple, delicious and reasonably priced - Homemade pork mandoo: Freshly made dumplings are the best Without a doubt, I'd be back. I took one star back from the pricy banchans, though they maybe expensive coz there aren't many places at St Louis that offers them.

My family and I love Sides of Seoul! The dishes are flavorful (and well worth your money), and they are very quick to prepare your order. I've dined in a few times pre-2020, but mostly call ahead and order takeout now. The restaurant also has some prepackaged sides and kimchi if you decide to add to your order! I did notice that it's mostly been converted to a takeout area now where you can wait for your order. The prices are up-to-date on their website and are very reasonable for the portions of food that you get. Our go-to order is always the spicy pork kimbap, but this time we decided to get a spicy pork bowl-bop, a bulgogi beef bowl-bop, and a tteokbokki as well. The bowl-bops were very flavorful and filling (we especially enjoyed the glass noodles and the spicy mayos). My brother did prefer the spicy pork over the beef bulgogi, but both were great options! The tteokbokki had an excellent spicy kick, and the rice cakes were nice and soft. We will definitely be back and look forward to making it a weekly tradition!

TLDR: Great Place! I have been wanting to stop here for the longest time and finally made it! Lots of kimchis and banchan in the refrigerated case on the wall. There were also some premade dumplings and a few other things. I ordered a Soondubu with beef and a Tteokbokki. I also left with a container of sweet & spicy radish and pork & kimchi mandu. It was ready quickly and everything was great when I got it home! I will be back to work my way through all of the side dishes!

How great are these Kim-Bop Korean rolls? They're like Korean sushi rolls...or like mini Asian burritos. Easy, portable and tasty! Make sure you don't come right before closing because they can sell out. I enjoyed both the $4 Veggie Kimbop and $7 Bulgogi Kimbop rolls. I'm full after one roll, so there was left overs when I got these 2. There is no dine-in and most people order online for pickup and some walk in to place their order. Other items on the menu includes rice cakes, fried dumplings, Korean style pancake, meal boxes, rice bowls and noodle soups. Food: 5 Stars Service: 5 Stars Located along Page, Sides of Seoul (otherwise known as SOS) has quickly become one of my favorite Korean eateries in St. Louis. Their dishes are authentic and true to what we eat at home on a daily basis. For those days where I can't cook or when we just feel like treating ourselves, SOS is an easy choice for us. My husband loves their spicy pork bowls while I obsess over their yukgaejang. The banchan (side dishes) can be bought in conveniently packaged containers that seriously make putting together a meal super easy. I really can't recommend SOS enough. If you haven't given them a try, go there now!

I'm still exploring Korean food. But I can say this place does have the food that speaks for them. I went there on a Friday evening. First , this is a take out only place with few chairs to sit while you wait for your order. No dine in . Also it's better if you place a phone order before you go there other wise I've been told the wait time is roughly 30 minutes. I ordered regular kimbop and Beef bulgogi bowl bop. See pictures for how it looks. Kimbop: is warm and wrapped in a foil. More than enough for two people as appetizer. Beef bulgogi now bop: The portion justifies the price. Not spicy. But, somehow I felt like there is so much rice and if you mix everything there is still lot of rice that need some sauce. If you are someone like me who needs flavor. Ask for extra sauce.

Delicious bimbap i only wish i could make at home! Feels very authentic for someone who hasn't been to Korea. Excellent service. Quick and painless. Not for dining in which is completely fine.

Really good Korean food and convenient to take home. Most of the banchan go for $5.99 to $9.99 and will last in your fridge for a while since they are pickled. You can also order off the menu, which has all the classics like jjajangmyun ($13.99), but there is no dining in. Given recent inflation, prices are probably a little higher than what's displayed on their menu.

I am Korean and grew up eating Korean food. SOS is the most authentic and best Korean restaurant in STL. I've been ordering from here for several years now and is always amazingly consistent from the main dishes to sides. Even though it's takeout only, I'd rather buy food here and eat it at home than go to any other Korean restaurant in the area. My go to items are the kimbops, bulgogi or spicy pork meal box, and the fried dumplings.

My husband and I are always in the hunt for great ethnic food in St Louis. We are blessed to have many(Saffron, Addie's Thai, Chilispot, Tikka Tangy). We were in the search for Korean after becoming enamored with K dramas. We were not disappointed in SOS. Absolutely delicious. We ordered the dumplings that were crisp even as takeout. The spicy pork bowl was delicious with a combination of noodles on top of rice. Not spicy, but I put ghost pepper on everything, so I am not a great judge of normal spicy. The other dish we ordered was the beef bulgogi box, also terrific. We did add chili crisp to everything to spice it up. We also had no leftovers, which is unusual for us. The perfect amount of food. As someone else mentioned, call the restaurant directly. If you order takeout through any of the apps listed, you are charged an additional15 to 20%. So excited we found this place with help from the other reviews.

Delicious! Mainly a pick up window restaurant, but oh, don't let that deter you!! The food is fresh and full of taste! Friendly, fast service if you order at the window. Most people were coming in for pick up orders. Definitely worth the stop, and we will be back soon!

Normally I would take the loss and never come back.. but I'm truly disappointed because the ratings are so high. The service was good but the food was far from good. I bought Bibimbob and added fishcake. the total for just the food was $15.50. for that price I expected double the quantity. The fish cake is stale, the bulgogi is bland, the bean sprouts are bitter, and the rice is hard.. No wonder it's to-go only.. They have to be ashamed of this overpriced, poor example is normally a staple of "good" Korean cuisine.. I get that times are tough.. but if you're going to charge that much for such a little amount, can't you at least make it taste good?

TL;DR: Sides of Seoul is a good place for Korean food in St. Louis, and I'd highly recommend trying it if you're hungry for Korean food in STL, but it's not top-notch Korean food by any means. As of yesterday, SoS is still doing takeout only, so my group went to a nearby park to try this place out. We were happy to find a bunch of Korean favorites here: yookgaejang, jajjangmyun, cheese tteokboki, donkatsu, jjambong, and more! See the photo captions or the menu for descriptions of each. The jjambong was the strongest item. I loved the chewiness of the noodles (not overcooked), and there was a good richness to the broth from the seafood. It was a little disappointing to see several of the shrimp hadn't been deveined, but the flavors and textures were right. The yookgaejang was probably the biggest disappointment. The heart of this dish is a root called fern braken, which was basically not present in the soup at all. There was very little beef, and there was an overwhelming amount of bean sprouts. It reminded me very much of (bean sprout soup), so if you're a big fan of bean sprout soup, order the yookgaejang! I mean that sincerely. The flavors are good, it's just not yookgaejang. The jajangmyun (black bean noodles), cheese tteokboki, kimbap, and the donkatsu all fell somewhere in-between the jjambong and the yookgaejang. Decent, but not amazing.

Sides of Seoul never fails. This is the best Kimchi bokkeumbop I've ever had. They are always so kind and quick! Also.. the coolers inside get me every time with the sides. 11/10 a must try if you're in STL and you love good Korean food. Like all great people do.

Sides of Seoul is a family owned and operated Korean restaurant with great customer service and even better food. They serve a variety of delicious Korean dishes with a wide array of high quality sides (including the best kimchi I've ever tried and many other sides that you can't get anywhere else!). Frankly, this is my favorite Korean restaurant in the STL metro area for fantastic food, fresh ingredients, fast service, reasonable prices, and top-notch staff. I also appreciate that the place is ALWAYS super clean! Can't recommend this place enough and I wish this business many more years of success.

This business is takeout only. It was clean and efficient with a small seating area for you to sit while you wait for your order. I ordered one beef bulgogi box and one spicy pork box. Both of them came with a good portion of meat, kimchi, stir fried fish cake, black beans and rice. It was very reasonably priced for how much food was given! The kimchi was spicy and crunchy and fresh! The meats were flavorful and tender. I also got the bulgogi Kimbop and the regular Kimbop. They both have a lot of ingredients with a think layer of rice around it. You could tell it was freshly made! Will definitely be coming back to try more of the chilled sides.

Omg I can't believe I only knew about this amazing Korean place few months ago! Look at those tempting sides and dishes!!! If you want some Korean takeouts to warm you up during this snowy cold weather, Sides of Seoul is the way to go!!! They have tons of "ready-to-go" Korean side dishes available in the fridge. From Kimchi, to seaweed salad, to Seasoned Soybean Sprouts and more! There are also ready-to-go eats and soups, too! We tried the Jokbal (pig feet) which was very special and yummy, it's like a meat jelly! In addition to the refrigerated ones, we also got some made to order dishes. Bulgogi Kimbop (Korean rolls), Tteok-Bok-Gi (Korean Rice cake), Seafood Pancakes and KimChiJjiGae (Kimchi Tofu Soup) were all AMAZING! Call and order or just stop by and see their countless sides collections!

Now, the whole restaurant has been converted to take out only (a couple chairs available while you wait, No table), you can come inside to pick up your food and choose more prepackaged take out options. I had the Spicy Pork Box. I had read that it had a lot of onions with the pork, I asked that it was not too spicy. I found that the ratio of onions to meat was not bad, the reviewer must have included the carrots with the onions or they had corrected the problem. I just wished that they had included more Korean pickles than Kimchi to the order. I thought it was pretty good. I would definitely recommend this order.

Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced! Everything is made to-go; counter service and there are a few chairs inside (no tables) to sit while your food is being prepared. They also have prepared sides (banchan), assorted pancakes and drinks that you can browse through. I got donkatsu kimbap and the beef bulgogi bowl. Kimbap was fresh and makes the perfect snack. It's nice that their bowls include both rice and glass noodles for more variety. I'm excited to try their kimchi jjigae, it was my favorite thing my Halmoni made me as a kid and I'm so happy I found my new comfort food spot!

Heads up, you can't eat here which is the worst part because who wants to take soup home to eat. Sigh. Best items kimbap and bulgogi bowl. Worst item (not pictured) is the dumpling and rice cake soup. The dumplings were clearly from a frozen box because they had these weird freeze dried pellets that looked like rabbit dung. Made me really sad. No garnish or anything on top. Kimbap perfection. Tteokboki spicy but too pasty without enough tteok. Less paste more tteok please.

Came here for all the good reviews and was sadly disappointed. Convenience store style, take out only. The sides were very overpriced and okay tasting in my opinion. I got the spicy pork and it was not very flavorful, quite a disappointment. I got a soup that was good but not enough to make me come back.

This place was the perfect meal I needed to get through my errands! It took them only 10 min and the food was so fresh. I absolutely love mandoo so this was crispy, hot and delicious. The veggie bibimbop was so filling. I felt so good eating this and it was packed with such good flavor. Will definitely be stopping by again in the near future!

Sides of Seoul is a small family owned restaurant located in a small plaza serving amazing homey Korean food! I love their donkatsu kimbap! I can't get enough of it -- I've gotten their kimbap for takeout multiple times in the past month. All of their food is authentic and homey, and I haven't been disappointed by anything on their menu yet! They have a variety of different kimbap, lunchboxes, soups, appetizers, and ramen dishes. I would say their portions are big and reasonable for the price. They also usually have a selection of packaged sides and desserts available by the ordering station. For dining in, you order first, and then they'll bring out the food to you. The utensils and water are self-serve. The owners are always super nice and welcoming too! During the current coronavirus situation, they have placed a table by the front where you can pick up your order. I usually call ahead, and my order is done in 20 minutes. It's super easy, so go and check out their food!

I learned about of SOS from a Korean friends. After having experienced it once, I'm hooked! I've gone back a few more times and each time was just as delicious as the first. I had a hard time finding authentic Korean food when I first moved to St. Louis. There's legit KBBQ joints but sometimes I just crave for the staples like kimbop, tteokbokgi, and soondubu. Everything I had here taste homemade and just ooze of comfort and warmth. My favorites are the regular tteokbokgi (rice cake), bokkeumbop (fried rice with bulgolgi), and the beef bulgolgi box. If you're looking for an easy and healthy lunch option, grab a couple of kimbop (kind of like sushi rolls but Korean) to go. Really can't go wrong with any item on the menu. The storefront is small and inside is cozy. Best to get take out. Food is ready in 15 minutes. The lady is always sweet and welcoming. They even sell huge jars of homemade kimchi -- I'll have to give that a try next time!

I will love and support this restaurant because of its good quality service and food! I've had their spicy pork bowl twice, the beef Bulgogi bowl, the beef Bulgogi kimbap, jajangmyeon, seolluntang, and tteokbokki (with and without cheese)! When I come here, I love to go with my friends to visit and eat! The food is always great and comforting! I would recommend going to get a variety of dishes and honestly you cannot go wrong with any of them! The only dish that really was not my taste was the jajangmyeon. I like a lot of dishes to have some sort of veggies and meat, so this was not one of them. But, I know a lot of my friends love it, so more power to you if you are willing to try it!

Sides of Seoul is a small hole in the wall that has won my heart as one of my favorite korean places. They sell very simple, home style cookin, from korean tradition, their kimbop is so simple, so good. Every dish I've tried has been great, really love this place; you can't go wrong with much anything that they have here. One of my personal favorites is the tonkatsu Kim Bop and the soondobu. Definitely recommending this place!

Cute small Korean restaurant that has cheap and delicious kimbap. One roll (~$4-5) is surprisingly very filling. It's great to-go or picnic food. It's a bit out of the way with a small parking lot, but would love to go back again!

Been craving korean food so decided to try SOS and it was delicious! I got the veggie soondubu and it had a great depth of flavor and not too spicy for me. My boyfriend got the beef bulgogi bowl and devoured it. I want to try the kimbap next time. Take out only so you don't get the same experience eating the food that normally comes out sizzling hot but still great takeout.
