Stubborn Brother knows what they’re doing. I had a sausage and ricotta slice of pizza, and both were on point — thin, crusty dough with that perfect soft interior. They use a beautiful oven and even a specialized water-treatment system to mimic New York’s mineral profile, and you can taste the difference. From pizzas to salads, subs, and draft beer, this spot gets it right. Great atmosphere, fair prices, and attentive staff. If you’re trying to figure out your next meal, just come through and enjoy.

Just moved here from the New Jersey shore area and heard this was an east coast pizza joint. It was close but not quite there. The meat balls were good but no where worth $13 for 4 little balls. The pizza was ok but to have a good east coast pizza you need to use the r right oven that is brick lined, a chewy inner an crispy outer crush, then lots of top quality cheese and a simple sauce. Their sauce was good light on cheese and crust was off, no flavor and too much flour. No sure when they opened or if they will survive but $6 for miller lite 16 oz. CAN, this isn't downtown. High priced for sure. I'll keep looking for a good pizza joint that has better food and prices or I'll just open my own Jersey Shore pizza parlor so I can get great pizza.

I’ve had stubborn brothers multiple times over the years. I never had a bad pizza. Never had a bad experience with service. I have found that this is not the type of pizza you can order for takeout. To get the best experience it needs to be consumed fresh. Otherwise it gets tough. I’ll always come back. For a New York/artisan style pizza they are on the right track. You can’t compare this to Marcos or a chain pizza joint. It’s in its own category. Only complaint is the twice baked garlic rolls are always not baked enough. I recommend this establishment regardless.

Really good pizza and appetizer the stomboli was delicious. It was busy and only one waiter un the section we were in. So she couldn't guve everyone the attention because she was so busy.

I had an amazing experience at The Stubborn Brother Pizza Bar! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a fun, laid-back vibe. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Now, let's talk about the pizza-absolutely incredible! The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside yet soft and chewy inside, with just the right amount of char. The toppings were fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. I tried their signature pizza, and it was one of the best l've had. The garlic knots were also a must-try— light, buttery, and packed with flavor. Pairing it all with a great selection of craft beers made the experience even better. Whether you're stopping in for a casual dinner or hanging out with friends, this place is a gem. I'll definitely be coming back!

Great pizza spot with very cool vibe. Loved the Sicilian Style Pizza. Had a crispy bottom and light dough. Also highly recommend the wedge salad with homemade bleu cheese and well as garlic rolls. Very tasty. Lots of TVs for enjoying your favorite sporting events.

Everything was great. The pizza was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. There were 2 of us for lunch and the lunch special prices were a great deal. 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $8 and 2 slices of pizza, a salad, and a drink for $14. Though the salad was good, next time, I will skip it as it was just too much to eat along with 2 slices of pizza. We each ordered a slice of pepperoni and a slice of BBQ chicken. Both were great. The crust was good, and the pizza was more well done than most places, and it was just how I liked it. The BBQ had onions and bacon on it, too. It was a perfect mix of flavors. The slices are huge as well. The service was good. There were multiple waitresses walking around. If your tables waitress was busy, there was another to ask how things were going. Will definitely be back, and i absolutely love that I can get the pizza by the slice instead of ordering a whole pizza!

My brother lives close to Stubborn Brother, so I have visited several times. He will be disappointed by my review given that he loves the restuarant and always insists on taking me. It's a huge restuarant with lots of areas to hang out. There's a huge bar, several dining rooms and then a main dining area with booths, tables and bar seating. The service has always been good. Typically it's a college student that you want to tip well because you know they are a student. Huge menu. I love that you can order by the slice. Cold beers. Just not my cup of tea, but as I said, my brother loves it.

3.5 Rating Looked around for pizza place near our hotel. This one was about 11 minutes away. There was an entrance at the front but it looked like the locals were going through the back door so we followed suit. When we got in there definitely smelled like deliciousness and client service was pleasant. We ordered the twice baked garlic rolls, as well as a customizable pizza where we added bacon, mushroom, and pepperoni. We ordered a Coke and a Toledo sunrise for drinks. The twice baked garlic rolls were left to be desired. The ends were crispy but the middle just felt soggy. I wish it was actually twice baked. However, the pizza came out with really nice flavour as well as nice bottom crust. Beverages were beverages. Overall sports bar vibes..

Good service and good food. The antipasto is enough for two. I assumed like most places they controlled portions but it was a reasonable size. I did eat it myself. The food everyone else ordered looked amazing.

While the pizza remains one of the better options in town, the execution is going down (today's pizza was undercooked ) and shrinkflation is in full effect when it comes to the sides. $13 for 4 meatballs, and $13 for effectively one cup of arugula in the rocket salad would better have been better spent on a second pizza. Long story short, ask them to cook your pizza a little longer and skip the appetizers.

The pizza is definitely good but the service kills this place. The past two visits our order has been messed up. One time it was a completely different pizza from what we ordered but we had waited a very long time so we said we'd just eat it. When we went to eat it the bottom was completely black. Not the normal char but burnt to a crisp so we just left hungry. This last time the toppings weren't completely right and there was a thick layer of flour on the bottom of the crust. The waitress was also miserable. Our bill was almost $100 for 2 pies and a couple beers. With the way the restaurant is being managed I dont know how many times we'd make a regular appearance in the future.

Being from Youngstown and Cleveland I expected very little when dining here. I was dead wrong. Probably top 5 pizza place I've ever been to. The veggie sandwich is also a killer. Best value I've had in a while too.. Did I mention the staff are all cute girls too? I'll be back next time I'm in Toledo.

This place was great. Don't let the gluten-free crust steer you a different direction. They've replaced it with a cauliflower crust which was quite delicious in the even included a separately packaged pizza cutter!

My dad had a craving for some good, fire-cooked pizza, and I wasn't quite sure where to take him. I'll admit, I was a little hesitant at first based on some of the reviews--but the moment we walked into Stubborn Brothers, we knew we were in good hands. The pizza was packed with flavor, and the crust was exactly what my dad had been hoping for--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of that perfect wood-fired taste. Rocket pizza was definitely a fan favorite with everyone! We tried the sub and salad and they were also a hit. The atmosphere was a great surprise too. There's a full center bar and plenty of TVs playing all the games, making it a perfect spot to hang out and relax. There's a fun photo-booth and private bar in the back which we noticed on our way out. They also have a convenient walk-up window outside, which makes grabbing a quick bite even easier. You can order by the slice which was great to know for the future! Everyone in our group loved the food, and there's no doubt--we'll definitely be back!!

We've had this place as delivery or pickup, but have never made it inside. The pizza is absolutely amazing and was even rated by Dave Portnoy. The pizza is delicious and piping hot, always. The I side has an awesome bar and a great atmosphere. We stopping in on a Tuesday and they were doing trivia! What a perfect spot l for good food, drinks and trivia. The d'écorce was a tad slow, but I think it was because the place was packed for trivia.

Pizza was awesome! Went during lunchtime and the deal was for 2 slices, salad and drink for $14. The salad was very tasty and big. The pizza were big slices as well. Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. Got our food fast!

I'm glad that I did not review this right away or I would have given it one star because I was a tad upset that I spent $70 for pizza that just wasn't very good. We walked in on a busy Saturday and we're expecting to wait. The Host kept pushing for us to eat outdoors. As it was dusk there are many critters out there so we told her we will wait for the inside. I like the indoor outdoor type atmosphere with the garage style doors. As we were waiting at the bar we let the bartender know that we would just be having drinks and we were waiting for a table. She came over twice and tried to convince us to just order and eat at the bar. The bar seating is not comfortable and has no backs so we declined to eat at the bar and were puzzled why we kept getting asked. After about 15 minutes or so we were seated at a booth by the bartender. Another 15 minutes went by before any server came up to the table which was strange. We should have left. Several servers walked right by us and didn't say a thing so the service wasn't great. By the time the server came by asked if we were ready to order right away we had our orders ready. We had the Garlic Knot roll and to try the pizza we got a slice of pepperoni, a slice of cheese pizza and a pepperoni stromboli. We had never been here before and wanted to try a little bit of everything before committing to a full Pizza. The garlic rolls came and were not cooked all the way. They just tasted like dough that was not cooked and a whole whole lot of garlic. Same thing we noticed with the Stromboli. Could hardly taste the sauce at all just a bunch of bread and cheese. A server never did come back and ask us how our meals were so we just kind of try to power our way through it. I even took the leftovers home thinking they would be better the next day as most Pizza is but no. It just wasn't good and tasteless. We both kept thinking to ourselves that we should have went over to the village idiot and had a $15 Pizza like we were first thinking. It's just not for me. Maybe it was a bad day for them but I'm not willing to spend my money there again

Came here with a bunch of guys before a golf outing in the area. We shared some pizza slices and a meatball sub, both of which were average to good. The sub kind of fell apart as we ate it as the bread did not seem to hold up well to the sauce and cheese. Pizza slices were on the burnt side, but the overall flavor hit the spot.

Stubborn Brother has great vegan options and I always enjoy doing a build your own pizza when I'm here. The roasted cauliflower is always out of this world and one of my favorite things to eat. The service is always extremely fast and friendly and they have incredibly cold beer. One of the most fun sports bar atmospheres around!

The Stubborn Brother Pizza hit the spot! We arrived just in time to grab a seat at the bar to dine in. Super cute, industrial style cozy interior. The bartender greeted us promptly & stayed on it the whole time. We got some drafts & ordered some much needed garlic bread & meatballs. Holy yum! Super tasty! He opted for slices of pizza- I chose to order up a whole one for days of leftovers! We really wanted dessert but had no room. Maybe next time! Dont sleep on this one. The crust was amazing & the whole experience was a memorable one. This is one of our new favs!

We got the whole pie of the giavanna white pizza to go. It's one of the best pizza I have. The roasted garlic makes everything so good!

This place has the closest to NY style pizza you will find in NW Ohio. They actually use a filter on their water to mimic NY water! The crust is killer and the oven bake is amazing. They do more than just great pizza. The subs are amazing. The Stromboli is superb. And get an order of meatballs with an order of garlic bread! The perfect combination. The staff is always attentive and friendly. They do seem to be training new staff all the time so maybe they have a high turnover rate? It is located near a college campus. Ambiance wise the place is huge with a large bar area and some outdoor seating. There are plenty of TVs incase you want to watch sports or participate in their trivia night. Try their pizza! You will not be disappointed.

I live about an hour and a half south of Toledo, and after seeing Dave Portnoy's One Bite review of Stubborn Brothers Pizza, it's been on my list of places to try. I haven't had a truly great pizza in Ohio yet--there are more below-average spots than average ones--so I had high hopes for Stubborn Brothers. After finally trying it, I can say it's the best pizza I've had in Ohio so far. I still wouldn't call it "great," but it's a very solid pizza. The standout for me was definitely the crust--that part was great. However, I was disappointed with the sauce; it was pretty bland and didn't taste like it was made from high-quality tomatoes (such as San Marzano tomatoes). On half of the pizza I ordered pepperoni, and again, it didn't strike me as a high-quality pepperoni. In closing, I'm glad I tried Stubborn Brother and would rank it at the top of my Ohio pizza list so far, mainly because of the crust. Next up on my list is Charlie Anderson's place in downtown Cleveland, "Good Pizza" (2057 E 4th Street, Cleveland, OH). To date, the closest and best overall pizza I've found is still "Tomatoes Apizza" in the Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills (The original location: 29275 W 14 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI).

If you're looking for a quiet place to dine and recluse this isn't the place! But if you like a friendly atmosphere with lots of smiles and amazing food ?, then you found it! The servers are fast, yet attentive to your smallest of needs. The Restaurant is very clean as are the restrooms also leaving even the pickiest of customers (me) satisfied with the safety of their food. Now as for the food.......WOW! Pizza, served THE WAY YOU LIKE IT. Non-alcoholic beverages are bottomless and reasonably priced. And , by the way, do yourself a favor and try their garlic cheese bread! YUMMY!!!!!!! I order dine in, to-go, and delivered, either way it's delicious and fresh. Outstanding Restaurant, PERIOD!

Stubborn Brother is my favorite pizza in Toledo. However, yesterday I stopped by to pick up a couple of slices to go. I ordered at the to-go window and waited outside. When my slices were hand it to me, they we're piping hot, but they were handed to me vertically in a paper bag. Needless to say, the pizza had slid to the bottom. TBH, I was tired and hot and didn't feel like going through the hassle of bringing it to their attention. But, pizza is their primary business. They should know that it should be delivered flat, horizontally, not vertically. It also came on a regular old white paper plate, with a piece of deli paper on the bottom and another paper plate on top. Half of the pizza was kind of wadded up in a ball at the bag. And overall, it was a greasy mess. It will be the last time I ordered slices to go from Stubborn Brother..

They must have a big rotation of pizza makers or simply don't train them very well, because the variability of the pizzas is orders of magnitude higher than any other pizza joint I've ever seen. You can get a 8/10 pizza one time, then get a 3/10 pizza the next. If you're unlucky and go on an off day, then you're basically getting a pie that's worse than a frozen pizza from Kroger. If you're lucky and go on a good day, then you're getting one of the better NY style pizzas in Ohio.

Have been coming here since they have opened!! We were once regulars and had our favorite waitress- who we believe has since graduated. Love the addition they have added. The vibe has always been care free & fun!! Sadly since popularity has increased we have noticed that it is hard to get our favorite appetizer (cheesy garlic bread), since they typically run out of bread before the end of the night. Also as of the past few months there is typically a wait especially if you have a larger party. Will always be back when in town!

Love the vibe. College pizza is sure not what it used to be. Great choices, from subs to pizzas. Got the Spicy Sicilian which I didn't realize is not thin crust so I'll have to stop back to check that out. The pizza we got was deep but crunchy and full of flavor; the Calabrian chilis added the perfect amount of heat. The meatball sub was also served hot and was huge, and covered in cheese. Enough to feed several. I'll have snacks and lunches for several days. All servers waiting on you means no one has a sense of urgency.

Excellent pizza. You can really taste the quality ingredients and the dough is special. I got the new York style and it was very good. The garlic bread is outstanding. The place looks like a great place to hang out and watch sports and consume way too much pizza!

I'm a lifelong fan of the meatball sub, and this is the best anywhere. The house made meatballs are tender and full of flavor. Sesame seed sub roll a unique choice, gives it a really interesting texture. Worth the visit for this menu item alone. Caprese salad is also top notch.

Food, service, and ambiance were all very good. The pizza was exactly the style I like and was really good. This would be a 5 star review, but I have had slightly better pizza like this in other cities. As for Toledo, it's the best place to get New York style pizza!

We have been here a few times the food is usually really good. Today we tried the Bruschetta and they should be ashamed to charge what they charge for 4 sad pieces of toast and a spoonful of tomatoes. We also tried the Chicago steak Stromboli it had no steak in it. We flagged down our server and showed him and he just said "oh that's weird" and just walked away...

I received a call from one of the owners. He asked me what happened. After speaking with him he said that he was not aware of the incident. I believe his name was Andrew. Andrew listened and then he apologized for the way his management staff handled my concerns. He assured me that is not how he operates his business. He will have a talk with his management staff. He also assured me that I will not experience that kind of service again. The most important thing for me is after we talked he invited me to the restaurant and said he would like to meet me. #Happy customer Thank you Chris Adams

Spacious and sleek atmosphere, pizza was perfect NY style. Service was prompt d friendly.

I travel a lot for work. Like an unreal, stupid amount (and through various parts of Ohio). Pizza in this state is generally iffy at best. Originally hailing from Jersey, I wear my pizza snobbery like a badge of honor. So, when I was traveling to Toledo recently and saw that there was a local slice-style pizza joint, I had to try it out. Admittedly, I was swayed by their 8.1 rating by Barstoolsports (Dave Portnoy is gruffer than I like, but his pizza-rating system is fairly accurate). I ordered a pepperoni slice and a wedge salad (I'm a sucker for a good blue cheese wedge). The salad was quite good and massive. It was a little pricey ($10), but my job is also footing the bill, so it made no difference. The pizza was everything you want from an east coast style pizza; the crust was chewy and bready, the cheese was plentiful, the sauce has a tang, and the pepperoni was perfectly crisp. It sent me back to the Jersey Shore and I immediately felt back at home. It was also a Tuesday and the bar was holding trivia. This one was especially engaging! Drink prices were fair and they also had specials going on. I sat at the bar, but I did get jam-packed. There was a line of people waiting for tables throughout the night. I enjoyed my pizza experience so much that I went back on my way home to Columbus to get a whole pie. I'm happy to say, this is the most authentic pizza I've found in Ohio so far. PS- I also got the deconstructed ice cream sandwich. It was decent, but it was also massive!

The service was fantastic and I really liked the vibe at The Stubborn Brother Pizza Bar. It is obvious this is a college town hangout. I ordered the garlic bread with dipping sauce; both were room temperature. You can order whole pizzas or by the slice. The slices fill a paper plate and are $4. I had two kinds and preferred the onion and red pepper. I was very disappointed when they arrived on paper plates. I never choose to eat on a paper plate. I am the person who brings my fast food home and puts it on a real plate. I was surprised at how good the ice tea was. It tasted very fresh. The food is average and If you want to go out with a group and have a fun time, I think you can do it here and not break the budget. Just don't expect awesome food.

Great pizza & good beer selection. Toledo has a gem in Stubborn Brother Pizza. Will definitely be back.

This is a really good pizza place. I give it a 4 stars because the children didn't eat their pizza. In order a vegan pizza and a regular cheese for the children. The pizza didn't take too long to come to the table. It was hot and the slices were big. The vegan pizza was wonderful.

What a weird experience! We ordered ahead and then wanted to eat inside when we got there. The hostess was hem-hawing around about that option. We finally were given the green light to go ahead and take it seat. The indoor area didn't seem to be that busy, btw. A waiter came by and told us that it was his third day, insinuating that we needed to be patient. He did take our drink orders but didn't offer us silver or menus or anything else. Told us we would need to go outside to pick up our pizza!! What?! We actually did end up doing that but one pizza was done 15 minutes before the other.The outside pickup spot was backed up with many people waiting for their orders. The pizza was delicious, and huge helpings. Otherwise, I would have given one star.

Between the management having Andrew around representing his own path as if the lady name didn't apply making a difference as the 4th generation setting a perfect prime example as to what leadership is in this world! The quality alone of the incredibly unique style of pizza especially around the University of Toledo Campus (which with the new addition) generating more business to the college side of the young crowd (football season especially) brings a warm loving place to have the best pizza in town at.

This is hands down our favorite place to eat pizza in northwest Ohio. The vibe is good; not too loud and the service at the bar, where we sit, is always 10/10. Highly recommend.

Ordered Bruschetta and this was ok. Probably not order again. But the pizza? Amazing!!! Only complaint was cheese was not proportioned on pizza. One side had more. Otherwise amazing pizza! Would come back again

Great service, Great pizza . Waiting staff always polite and quick Great choices for pizza . You can enjoy by the slice or an entire pizza . Salads are delicious, as well . Lots of variety. Best part , order your food on line and pickup outside without the bother of going in . There's an outside window dedicated to on line ordering. First class food and service. 5 stars.

I don't understand the hype or Dave Portnoys rating. This pizza is very sub par, you can eat it but it's not that good. The atmosphere is nice and if you go to UT I could see a frequent visit. But to drive out of your way for it is crazy. It's way overpriced for what it is and you can find much better pizza around Toledo!

Nice inside. Well appointed. Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive. My calzone didn't impress. More bread than filling. Over done enough that the crust was hard to cut. My wife's was the same way. Would not order again. The couple we were with had a salad an pizza with were both good.

Stubborn Brother is exactly what you want a movie-level pizza joint to be, only a touch more upscale. It's still super comfortable, wear what you want, watch sports, drink cold beer, but this isn't greasy junk pizza. These pizzas are fresh, delicious, and just fancy enough to make you put a napkin on your lap before you shove it in your face. We started with the bruschetta and meatballs, both were tasty, I think the meatballs win for flavor. The Giavanna's White Pizza is a family favorite. It's so cheesy and salty and perfect. If you love mushrooms, this is your pizza. We also highly recommend the rocket pizza, the fresh arugula makes it! The pizzas are large, but to feed our family of five (three teens), we for sure order two plus some apps.

One of the best tasting pizzas I've had. Waitress Harley was great. Super attentive and friendly.

Again decent food, decent drinks awful service!!! 5 waitresses/bartenders and 10 Patrons and still can't get good service! Sorry Mancy's franchise, but you're missing the mark! I shouldn't wait 25 minutes for a slice of to go pizza when it's already made!!! Less time congregating and gossiping and more time SERVING. Ughhhhhj. I just want ONE go to spot in my neighborhood!!!

Enjoyed that they take reservations and that they honor the time. We were seated promptly and beverage order taken. We ordered kids pasta, whole Sicilian pizza, Stromboli and 6 separate slices. The kids pasta came out rather quickly then another five minutes and the Stromboli came out. Then another 5 to 7 minutes. The whole Sicilian pizza came out and finally after about another four minutes the individual slices of pizza came out. We were sort of confused why everything came out in intervals Especially when you would think the slices are ready to go. And I'll tell you these slices were ready to go right into the trash. If you go order a whole pizza because the pizza is good. The slices we had had been sitting for a while, and we're hard as rock. We won't be heading back, there is too much good pizza in Toledo to drive 10-15 minutes

My sister and I ate here after moving into our dorm nearby and it was incredible! It was really loud, but it had a really nice atmosphere characteristic of a college town pizza place. The waitstaff were very kind & helpful despite being super busy with the dinner rush. I can already tell this place is a staple in town, and we will be back :)

I wanted to love this place. I got the slices and they were burnt and were like cardboard. :( I will give it another chance when I return. Maybe I will get the full pizza next round. Service was ok. The staff is not overly friend but ok. The vibe is good and the establishment is clean.

Not a very good experience on any level, service food everything was D level... wouldn't take my order over the phone told me had to be online even through I was driving... came in and the Lu obviously didn't use fresh mozzarella everyone who order margarita pizzas knows this ain't it...

Food is great. But don't go later on in the evening. Make sure you go early bunch of teenagers stop caring as the night goes on and by the end, they just can't wait to be off very different experience and if you look behind the counter some of the stuff just looks gross at the end of the night
